The world is cruel and unfair. Some wonderful people spend most of their lives getting taken advantage of. Despite its popularity on online messaging boards, most people do not enjoy being stepped on. Zipper was no expectation. Zipper was so against it that she was compelled to help people who were unwilling to help themselves. That was her role in life. Even more so, she was compelled to succeed. There were no other options for her. Failure meant death. Maybe only a metaphorical one, but a real death would be a lighter sentence than the cold, callous hands of failure. It didn’t take long for her to find someone who was popular for the wrong reasons. It had taken a month or so of research, but the most standout the student — aka the most fixable, aka the one with most potential — was Kei Hada. He was a genius. A kind, wholesome genius. And there was even a news story about him. That tipped the scales. He wasn’t support. He was a hero. At heart, anyway. There were so many plans in her head, but she needed to get his attention. An introduction wouldn’t have been enough. He’d turn it down. Kei would return to complacency. The only way to get to him… was to force his hand. Introducing… The Kei Fanclub. There’s a room waiting for new members. Posters are littering the school. And she shouldn’t have done this, but there’s a photoshopped image of him with his thumb up, approving the existence of the club. That’d make him show up, right? Right? You can post once. You can post a million times. Reactions, jokes, involvement... pick your poison! The more the merrier. We just need to spread the word of THE Kei Hada :)

| [attr="class","bmsk"] in blackest night... There was something weird about today. Jun couldn't figure out what it was, almost like it was right on her peripheral. She went through her morning run, then breakfast, then last minute studying of an upcoming science test (yuck, but thank you Ana for these notes), and that's when she noticed it. A flyer. Except this wasn't just a flyer. It was a flyer of a fanclub that had her friend's face on it and was apparently endorsed by him? Did...did Kei know about it? Heck, was this something that Yaoyao would do? No, that wouldn't make sense. Yaoyao was always all over him, and this didn't look like one of her things. But, in reading it over and seeing a meeting place, she figured it would be good to get to the bottom of this. She snapped a photo of it, and shortly after she'd send Kei a message: Either way, she was going to go check it out. After suffering through the test, going through another torturous bout of simulations from Lone Wolf, and sending Auden a message saying she was going to be late coming in she made her way towards the meeting room, intent to find out what exactly this was about. Post by Mafdet Khepri on Dec 30, 2023 13:46:26 GMT
For four days Khepri had been wandering. It had started in the simple way many great adventures did. A fetch quest. Which was to say that they had lost their keys and were looking to find them again. Yet regardless of how cliche it began the journey was what truly mattered -or so they'd read in a book- and Khepri had quite an interesting one so far. The first day was what truly set them on their path, for it was not an uncommon occurrence that their keys went missing yet this time was different. There was a riddle. For right after Khepri discovered the missing item they tripped over a cobblestone. A cobblestone! Right on a cobblestone pavement?! That couldn't be a coincidence. Doing her best to overthink things through Khepri reached a conclusion in less than an hour before standing back up. Cobblestones were most often used in old European streets and one of the most common languages used there was English. Much like how Khepri was on the same island they lost their keys Scotland was on the same island as the place English came from and the Scots referred to cobblestones as 'cassays'. Similar to that word the one the Flemish used was 'kassei' and in some dialects it was shortened to 'kei' which sounded like the english word for keys! That couldn't be a coincidence! Khepri was no stranger to overly complex riddles -having come up with a fair few themselves- so they just knew this was no mere happenstance, this was the beginning of a quest! On the second day they'd stumbled -quite literally- onto another clue as the cable of a metal fan had gotten snagged on one of their joints. From the documentaries they'd seen they concluded this had to be a surprise tool that would help them later. So they'd tucked it under their arm right next to the cobblestone and continued navigating the streets of Tokyo. Yet the more they explored the less things made sense, why, the only remotely interesting thing they'd found on the third day was a top-heavy stick! It was only on the fourth day when their wandering took them through the various areas of UAU and caused her to end up at a certain door that things made sense. The stick was a club! 'Kei' 'fan' 'club'. This had to be the endgoal of the riddle and by extension Khepri's adventure! With a wide smile on their face they walked in, dropping all three items atop the nearest table while looking at Yoko. "Sorry I took so long to get here, I used my moral compass for directions." Anticipation colored Khepri's features as they continued talking. "Where are my keys?"
