COLD, preferably![break][break] mrs. kanno nods, and turns away to begin to make a masterpiece. on it![break][break] thanks! is daiana's only response. with a wide grin, she goes to lean against the sidebar, where she takes a napkin and gently begins to daub her hairline to wick away sweat. her eyes, though, are keen, staring over the clientele in the modest cafe. the cafe's in a bad area of town, so she's always on lookout for any ne'er-do-wells. not like the cops do anything about it, afterall! [nospaces] [attr="id","panedglass-d"] [attr="class","planedglass-main"] [attr="class","glassleft"] [attr="class","glasslyrics"] Never fear [break] Find comfort in knowing that thunder always comes after the lightning strikes and I brought the lightning.
[attr="class","colorfield-1"] [attr="class","colorfield-2"] [attr="class","colorfield-3"] [attr="class","glassright"] [attr="class","glassscroll"] Kaito loved the weekend, it was a time where he could spend time helping out his mom. Growing up, it was hard especially without a dad. His mom had to put a ton into her job for them just to make ends meet. He understood why and he thought the world of her. Then there was his dad. He didn’t know the man but was proud of who he was. His father was the hero of the day that didn’t get to come home. His sacrifice was inspiring for the young Tanaka boy. [break][break] Growing up, his mom gave him way too much for him not to try to help out whenever he could. This was one of the ways he was giving back. Sure, even after all of this time, they lived paycheck to paycheck, he was pretty satisfied with the life he was given. He had a deep appreciation for others who endure like he was doing. One of his goals in becoming a hero was to follow in his father’s footsteps, at least the way he lived. Kaito didn’t have any plans on dying any time soon. The other goal was to make enough to give his mother a better life. [break][break] He had completed two of the three errands that he was supposed to do to help his mom out. The last errand was grocery shopping. He had quite a long list and was sure he would be able to get all of the items on that list. He was glad that she would be able to live off of the food for a while since he lived on campus and had the provisions there to live. [break][break] As he continued walking by, he saw the Komorebi Cafe and decided he wanted to stop by and grabbed a coffee. Now coffee was probably the last thing someone with as much energy as Kaito needed. He already couldn’t sit still and to add more to that with caffeine could be a nightmare but coffee just tasted so amazing that it was hard to pass up anytime he could grab something. [break][break] He entered the cafe and heard the bell which signaled his entry. He approached the counter and looked up at the menu before he was greeted by the girl at the till. ”Hello. Can I get a caramel frappe with whipped cream and hot fudge on the top? Oh yeah, can I have that with a giant cinnamon roll?”[break][break] “Sure thing.” The girl said before giving Kaito the price. He took out the money in his wallet and paid for his treat. As they started preparing his treat, he looked around for an area to sit but the shop was pretty full. There was a spot to sit but he would have to see if it was alright with the girl that was there for him to sit there. He walked up to where Daiana was sitting and smiled. ”Hello there, do you mind if I have a seat here while I wait for my order?” Daiana – Coffee shop time [attr="class","credits"]made by gimmick [googlefont="Poppins:300,400,600"][googlefont="Hind:400,700"] [newclass=#panedglass-d] margin: 20px auto; position: relative; width: min-content; --accentRGB: 231,181,31; --accent: rgb(231,181,31); [/newclass] [newclass=#panedglass-d .planedglass-main] height: 600px; display: flex; background: var(--accent); font: 13px/19px 'Hind'; letter-spacing: .1px; color: #898989; border-radius: 0 9px 9px 0; overflow: hidden; box-shadow: 0 2px 4px 0 rgba(0, 0, 0, .15);[/newclass] [newclass=#panedglass-d a.credits] display: block; text-align: right; margin-top: 4px; margin-right: 25px; font: 700 7px/10px sans-serif; letter-spacing: .8px; text-decoration: none; text-transform: uppercase; [/newclass] [newclass=#panedglass-d .glassleft] width: 200px; border-right: 5px solid #121212; overflow: hidden; position: relative; z-index: 5; display: flex; flex-direction: column; justify-content: center; align-items: center; [/newclass] [newclass=#panedglass-d .glassleft img] filter: brightness(.65) grayscale(.75) contrast(.85) saturate(1.25); width: 200px; z-index: 0; opacity: 1; position: absolute; top: 0; transition: all 1s ease; -o-transition: all 1s ease; -webkit-transition: all 1s ease; [/newclass] [newclass=#panedglass-d:hover .glassleft img] filter: brightness(.85) grayscale(0) contrast(.75) saturate(1.5); [/newclass] [newclass=#panedglass-d .colorfield-1] position: absolute; top: 0; width: 200px; height: 600px; background: linear-gradient(150deg, rgba(var(--accentRGB), 0), rgba(var(--accentRGB), .65) 85%); z-index: 100; opacity: 1; [/newclass] [newclass=#panedglass-d .colorfield-2] position: absolute; width: 200px; height: 600px; top: 0; z-index: 90; background: var(--accent); mix-blend-mode: color; opacity: .1; [/newclass] [newclass=#panedglass-d .colorfield-3] width: 400px; height: 400px; background: var(--accent); border-radius: 100%; position: absolute; right: -220px; top: calc(50% - 150px); z-index: 0; opacity: .5; mix-blend-mode: hard-light; transition: all 1s ease; -o-transition: all 1s ease; -webkit-transition: all 1s ease; [/newclass] [newclass=#panedglass-d:hover .colorfield-3] opacity: .85; [/newclass] [newclass=#panedglass-d .glasslyrics] width: 75%; height: 100%; z-index: 150; position: relative; display: flex; justify-content: flex-end; align-items: center; flex-direction: column; [/newclass] [newclass=#panedglass-d .glasslyrics>div] max-height: 190px; overflow: hidden; margin-bottom: 0px; color: #fff; font: 300 9px/15px 'Poppins', sans-serif; text-transform: uppercase; letter-spacing: .9px; opacity: 0; transition: all 1s ease; -o-transition: all 1s ease; -webkit-transition: all 1s ease; [/newclass] [newclass=#panedglass-d:hover .glasslyrics>div] opacity: 1; margin-bottom: 30px; [/newclass] [newclass=#panedglass-d .glassright] padding: 0; position: relative; z-index: 5; background: #222; padding: 25px 0 0 25px; width: 340px; border-radius: 0 9px 9px 0; [/newclass] [newclass=#panedglass-d .glassscroll] padding-right: 29px; height: calc(600px - 46px); overflow: auto; [/newclass] [newclass=#panedglass-d b]color: var(--accent); font-weight: 500; letter-spacing: .2px; [/newclass] [newclass=#panedglass-d hr] margin: 15px 0; border: 0; height: 2px; background: #444; width: 100%; [/newclass] [newclass=#panedglass-d br+br] display: block; content: ' '; margin: 0 0 12px; [/newclass] [newclass=#panedglass-d a]color: var(--accent); font: inherit; font-weight: 500; text-decoration: underline; text-decoration-color: rgba(var(--accentRGB), .65); transition: .25s ease; [/newclass] [newclass=#panedglass-d a:hover] text-decoration-color: rgba(var(--accentRGB), 0); [/newclass] [newclass=#panedglass-d ::-webkit-scrollbar] width: 4px !important; border: 0 !important [/newclass] [newclass=#panedglass-d ::-webkit-scrollbar-track] background: #222; border-radius: 1px; border: 0 !important; [/newclass] [newclass=#panedglass-d ::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb] background: rgba(var(--accentRGB), .65); border-radius: 2px; border: 0 !important [/newclass]

"yeah, no prob! take a seat," she offers whilst gathering all of her things, from her wallet to her delivery bag, out of his way to clear a seat at the table.[break][break] in the meantime, daian finishes daubing away sweat at her browline and replaces her visor atop her head, though her face remains red with exertion. she tosses the napkin into a nearby trash can, but returns to looking back at kaito with a smal, apologetic smile. "sorry, y'know, about this," she gestures vaguely to her face, possibly referring to the thin layer of sweat and grime clinging to her face and short, rapid puffs of breath escaping her lips as she cools down. "been out on delivery and, damn, it's hot as hell out there!"[break][break] she laughs boisterously, punctuating the sound of a bell chime as the front door to the shop opens and a man dressed in rags enters the shop. little does she or any of the komorebi patrons know, but this man hids a knife in his waistband, and his hand lingers closer and closer to its handle as he approaches the till...
[attr="class","colorfield-1"] [attr="class","colorfield-2"] [attr="class","colorfield-3"] [attr="class","glassright"] [attr="class","glassscroll"] With his order in, Kaito found the one place he could sit and approached the girl who was sitting at that booth. He asked if she would mind him having a seat there. With her giving him a smile, she waved and allowed him to sit with her. She cleared her stuff to give him the seat he desired to be seated in which he took. ”Thank you.” He sat down and gave her a friendly smile. He wasn’t expecting that in walking in a cafe like this one, he would have to sit with someone else. Luckily, he didn’t mind that at all. He was pretty friendly. Also, as a plus, she was seemingly around his age.[break][break] As she daubed the sweat off of her face, she apologized and spoke about her being on delivery and how hot it was. ”That’s quite fine. It is pretty hot out there too.” He smiled as she laughed boisterously.[break][break] Around the same time, the door opened and there was someone coming in. Kaito’s eyes moved to him and noticed the rags he was wearing. For a moment, he felt bad for the guy. He knew what it was like to be poor and not being able to afford new clothes or good things. Even on special days like his birthday. Even though he dreamed about having that life of having enough money to get good things and survive, that wasn’t the reality. With only his mother around and her not being paid enough to cover their lives, life was as hard as it got.[break][break] Now here came a man dressed in such a way that Kaito’s heart went out to him. He even wanted to offer to pay for the man’s drink or snack but he had no additional money other than what was for groceries. It sucked that he couldn’t help the guy out in that way.[break][break] As the guy made his way to the baristas, he let his voice be heard to only her. What he told her made the barista’s eyes shoot open slightly. He showed her the handle of the blade and she nodded and carried on like she was taking a normal order.[break][break] For now, Kaito returned his attention to the girl that was opposite him. ”I’m Kaito, by the way. Who are you and what kind of deliveries do you do?” He asked. After her answer, he looked back over to the barista who was now handing a bag filled with cash over in a paper bag that pastries came in. It wasn’t even remotely obvious. After the man left the building, she let out a breath she didn’t know she was holding while shivering.
