[CHIRP ♪♪]

Gabriel can’t trust most people. With his newfound work associates — ill-intentioned criminals — he’s constantly watching his back for anyone who might have an inkling of his secret identity. Both identities of his are public, Gabriel and Chirp, but what only a few people know is the undercover role he is playing on behalf of heroes. Until now, he hadn’t found himself amid organized crime, but when he caught a whiff of a bank robbery, he knew who to call.

He sent a message to Peacekeeper. JoJo was a student playing vigilante and they’d eventually get in trouble, too. While that information not have been privy to him until their last conversation, his quirk and a few hours of research let him concoct a plan.

If he could save them from his fate, then he would. By having them help with the case, then they were undercover too. Maybe. It was a long shot but it’s the least he could do for the bad example he’s set.

There’s a man in a bird mask in an alleyway waiting for a girl covered in talking hair. A normal day in Japan. And in a few hours, they’d stop a heist.

"We really need to speak about your tact Sam,"

"I fail to see the problem with my interactions with weaklings."

"One, they are civilians, not weaklings. Two, fear of heights is one of the most common phobias out there! You told her if she didn't calm down you'd throw her onto the ground."

"The screams were annoying."

"Ya, well YOU are annoying when you do that."

"I'm going back to sleep, don't crash the plane."

"HEY, I'm not done talking to you yet!"

After that, there was no retort only silence and the teeth on her hood stopped moving. A 'tch' of annoyance rolled outta her mouth while she swung forward in the air heading to her destination. This new suit might as well have been blessed with a curse. On the one side, it was great! She never felt more nimble in any clothes before ever, but on the other hand, Jo forgot how nuts ole Sammy could be in some cases. Granted he didn't care at all, as far as he was concerned they were handling things much more efficiently... and a lot of grunts have been checked into the ICU. Eventually, she needed to have some type of 'intervention' with him.

Finally, she landed in the alleyway and felt no recoil in her feet, another absolute positive of the suit. You know how much hair she used to have to cake at the bottom of her feet with so she didn't feel anything?

ALOT LOT, she'd never forget when first starting after landing she needed to sit down for like six minutes and just cry because of the recoil.

"Well good afternoon," Jo spoke while rolling her neck and walking forward getting ready to get the skinny on the situation hoping the other guy stayed asleep for this one.

“Evenin',” Chirp says. “Let’s get straight to it, yeah?”

Chirp points to the bank nearby. Then to the general direction of where a far-off van is parked. People are clearly scheming. The van is meant to be their escape vehicle. These two were going to stop the upcoming heist on two fronts.

“Bank robbers. Two are going in and are going to be armed with guns. I can’t deal with that, hence, tada…” He broadly gestures at Peacemaker. “You.” He puts his arms down and points his head to the previously addressed van. “I’m going to sneak up on the getaway driver and dispose of them. Then, I’ll tinker with the van so it can’t move at all.”

“Simple, yeah?” He shrugged. “Should be done in ten minutes, maybe.”

The crooks made their move. They exited the van with masks in their hands, only putting them on when they were close enough to be seen on the cameras — amateur considering all of the other cameras in the area. And as they walk in they immediately draw their guns, making a stink of it all.

“Showtime.”

"A halftime show at a high school football game at best,"

Jo wasn't trying to be rude, it's just that after years of doing this on her own for a while and only getting maybe a sentence or two every couple of months. This new suit had somehow become a mouthpiece for Samson. Now, everyone could hear him and everyone could 'react' to one second hearing a prepubescent voice and next hearing something akin to the voices from the horror demon movies.

Of course, somehow Chip was involved. (Disclaimer the suit was awesome, shut up I'm allowed to rant about petty but not petty things.)

So needless to say when Chirpy said that it was just another couple of folks trying a bank heist there were at least already several different ways to handle this in her head.

So might as well go with the most basic one, take um out one by one, and after that leave him for the fashionably late police of Japan.

"I'm going to find a way to slip in from above, give me some type of signal when ya done with ya tinkering."

“After this, you gotta explain the whole talking mouth shtick,” Gabe said. The luxury of his quirk meant he could also target Samson’s thoughts and feelings, meaning he knew their name and how they felt about their last interaction, considering the photo he had taken. But if he wasn’t allowed to call her JoJo, then he knew he wasn’t allowed to call him Samson. The less he tipped his hand the better, considering the hairpiece’s proclivity for violence. “And what I’m supposed to call him. I can’t call you both Peacemaker. And he’s not peaceful anyway. Kinda rude… in a cute way.”

Chirp salutes dramatically. With JoJo on his side, he had no qualms with the threat level. Plus, with his own gear to help defend himself, finally, he knew that unless something went horribly wrong, things should be easier from now on — as long as there was someone capable around him, he had faith in his mind to compensate for any hurdles. It was always his body that failed him.

“Sounds good.”

Chirp ran off to the car, circling behind and taking cover as he tried to sneak up on it. He’d wait for JoJo to make the entrance and see if they’d contact the getaway driver. If they did, then he’d have his opening.

'Trust me, you 'really' don't wanna know that, everyone thinks they wanna know until they do and then it's a whole otha deal."

Unforunately Jo didn't have time to go through more about this and honestly considering that brother dearest felt like a ticking time bomb right now she could only imagine how he would react to bank robbers. The goal in these cases was to stop the bad things and not traumatize everyone with vision.

He meant well, honest.

Either way it was time to go to work, fortunately for her this wasn't some crazy maximum security bank, Japan really didn't go crazy like NY or LA with their banks except for like maybe five in the big prefectures. So getting in was as simple as snapping a lock on a window behind the tellers.

Already inside they were lining up everyone on one side of the bank, lucky for her it was on the opposite side where she had 'gracefully' jumped into the bank. (She didn't trip, cameras couldn't prove it and neither could that one stupid civilian staring at her hiding place.) They were shouting orders and Jo kept her presence concealed there were a couple of them but aside from the folks rounding up people, the rest were keeping their eyes on the doors on the front.

Stepping out of her hiding place, she put up one hand and immediately went too say something snippy until,

"ROBBERS DROP YOUR WEAPONS OR BE RIPPED ASUNDER!"

Oh no.

Fortunately, for Gabriel, he’d know anyway. Getting access to those cameras would be easy enough, just needed to call in a few favors — then again, Iphi might not help him out considering the situation. How would they even get in touch with one another? He knew how to reach the hero association, but how could he patch himself through considering it was all secret… if he called them directly, that’d be problematic, too.

A house visit, maybe. Is that weird?

“RIPPED ASUNDER?” The man in the van yelled, loud enough to alert Chirp. He thought he’d hear an engine start or something, but a voice will do.

“Damn, right.” Gabe opens the door, as he sees the man with a headset on, looking at a screen inside of the car via their allies’ POV. They were carrying glasses with a camera inside of them. Gabriel sent a fist flying a knocked the man out. Now, it was time to see what the hell he was talking about.

Looking at the camera, then JoJo, Gabriel gazed into the past.

"Entrails will be spilt, bodies will be molded to the mere welp's you are if you don't back down now."

JoJo couldn't help but thank god she was wearing this suit right now, though when she blinked the new suit caught that so it might be a little confusing to those around the Peacekeeper. However, someone blinking wasn't the confusing part. The confusing part was that this idiot was truly doing the old routine used to do back when she was a kid.

One side of her wanted to tell him to shut up, however considering the difference between their voices if she said a single word right now people would think their witnessing a possession rather than just a quirk being before them.

"FINAL WARNING"

Sam spoke before the pink tendril appeared and with a quick whip destroyed the pillar next to her going up to the ceiling. It wasn't the most impressive move considering it wasn't marble or anything but damn if it didn't make some of the civilians flinch.

It was only then Jo had a thought while being stuck in this situation right now... was he angry at her for telling him to tone it down?

Great.

Gabriel was up to speed.

But his up-to-speed was different than most people’s. Not only did he learn of the second person inside of JoJo’s head — in both a metaphorical and literal sense, considering it’s actually her hair — but he had seen Samson’s thoughts, too. Considering he had a full view of the camera, he could pick and choose who he wanted to see. And with what was going on internally, JoJo might want to get out of there before Samson’s rebellious streak caused more trouble than it was worth.

Gabriel put the van in drive and went to the front of the bank. The men inside saw it as an emergency exit— destroying a pillar was above their pay grade. They had guns but people with that kind of strength had incredible durability, too. They were not getting caught.

As they retreated, one hung back to shoot at JoJo, buying them time.

The other found a door slammed in their face, only to be grabbed by Chirp and tased on the ground. He then provoked Samson, hoping to save the last man’s life.

“Don’t kill him,” Chirp yelled, emphasizing the demon’s name. “Samson.”

JoJo couldn't believe it, well she could believe it, however, at the same time she was having a hard time considering the whole situation. Jo asked him to do one thing and now out of nowhere instead of just going oh yea, can do, no worries.

He dialed it up to ten and decided, ya know what else these civilians need with their trauma? Nightmare demonic trauma, really brings home to their therapists that this issue was something that would take more than a few sessions to fix.

Now the reaction was immediate from the robbers, clearly, no one wanted to fight the figure that was talking about ripping them apart and shattered a pillar. Watching them run for the getaway vehicle put a little bit of pride in Jo. Maybe she could depend on him to put a little umph into situations, granted very unneeded umph but still the situation was solved right?

Wrong.

One of those idiots turned around and pointed a gun right at her and her eyes widened. Not for her own sake but for the sake of these civilians who were about to see what entrails looked like when ripped right out of someone.

The reaction was immediate and Jo covered her shoulders trying to stop the ichor from sprouting from his favorite place to spew the hair, that was until Chip decided to save their life, by damning themselves.

There are a couple of things that 'demons' don't like to hear from civilians. One of them being their own names. So needless to say when Chirp yelled his name the reaction was immediate, Samson launched the body and the teeth on the hood became quite sharp at that very moment.

All the while Jo grabbed another pillar and tried to stop themselves from moving forward while ichor started to sprout from the suit.

“That’s one way to save a life,” Chirp says, promptly throwing himself under the bus. Unfortunately, there wasn’t a bus to use as cover, only the dented van that had given Gabriel enough leeway to avoid a fatal blow from Samson. Even if it was meant to knock him out, the man was frailer than a demon like that could understand.

“Look buddy,” Gabriel presses the gas, hoping to drag the pair with them. By this point, the police must be on their way and the criminals are bound to get captured, even if they happen to get a few bucks in their burlap sacks before promptly returning it. “We’re gonna have a nice long talk…”

He drives off, setting his zappy hand to fatal. If it’s just the hair… He thinks to himself. Frying it shouldn’t hurt JoJo.

All he needed was the girl sitting safely in the car so that she wouldn’t get run over in the process. God forbid the current catches her in the crossfire.

Samson's reaction was immediate unfortunately, these pillars weren't marble so instead of being able to get a good grip Jo held on for a little while only for the pillar to be torn. Launching Jo, Samson, and the pillar forward while saliva started to fall from the teeth on the helm of the hoodie. Now let's be real here Jo has been on this scene for a very long time, and has been launched and launched so many things at one point JoJo could've changed the alias to cannongirl. So she was used too flying at dramatic speeds and of course Samson was, yet the problem now for Samson is that all those times these two were working together. Today Samson decided to be a big baby and because he was told not to do something now he wanted to maim and entrail everything alive.

NO SIR!

She was in charge of this show! Not him! Samson was going to learn that he is not in charge and that he needed her! Not the other way around!

Flying forward, Jo refused to allow the ichor to come out, stopping Samson only for a moment. Though, that moment was all that Jo needed, BAM! Both of them collided with the van and that dent became an indentation in the vehicle.

Now this didn't knock either of them out, but it did send Jo into Yodelsville. Her head spiraled right and left, followed by the sound of Samson and both her screaming and their entire body being filled with volts of energy.

Now, did this help the situation for both Jo and Chrip, yes! Yet, Jo did have to say she was going to hate looking back at this knowing there's going to be some type of clip. That was going to piss both of them off... After they wake up from their fry nap.

Gabriel had no intention of knocking them both out. Still, considering how dangerous the situation would have been if Samson went on his rampage, he’d offer a half-hearted whoops before stopping the vehicle and dragging her into it. He doubts the criminals will escape, but if they do, then it’s the least of his worries. If Peacemaker was caught killing them on camera, it would have been the end of her vigilante career. Bad enough there’s footage of her working alongside Ghouligan, ruining her reputation as is.

“I don’t know what’s going on with Samson,” With JoJo unconscious, Gabriel spoke to himself. If he’s lucky, some of this will seep into her unconsciousness. “But this is not my problem. I hope you fix your shit before you get back out there.”

He’d eventually drive her to a friend’s house. They operated in the underworld, too, but shared careers with Peacemaker instead of Gabee. If they were safe anywhere, it’d be here.

“Thanks for doing this on short notice.”

“Ya. Course.” They arched an eyebrow. “Won’t go murder mode on me, right?”

“Don’t say his name and you’re safe.”


“What’s his na—” They stop themselves. “It’s better if I don’t know.”

“It’s better if you don’t know,” Gabe repeats. “Don’t look under the mask, either.”

“Wouldn’t dream of it.” Beat. “Stay safe out there.”

“I’ll try.”
