Just when things were finally looking up for the citizens of Tokyo, disaster struck! The tower that had formed during the attack by The Elementalist finally fulfilled its mysterious purpose: to broadcast a mysterious signal. This signal has altered with the fabric of reality, putting thousands all around Tokyo into a perpetual slumber. If that wasn't enough, it jumbled around the quirks of everyone affected, with some ending up with the quirk factor of others! Of course, not everyone was affected by this, but the chaos of an unprecedented event like this has thrown Tokyo into complete chaos, and even more so, it has pulled some unlucky individuals into an alternate space dubbed 'Dream World'![break]

Whether you participated in the Unity Festival or minded your own business, the signal didn't discriminate and has reached everyone in Tokyo! Perhaps it was planned with the timing of the Unity Festival, or perhaps by complete chance? Only one way to find out![break]

Welcome to Part 2 of the site event; Dream World! Narratively, this occurs at the end of the same day as the Unity Festival. So for those who participated in Part 1 you'll be at the event's epicenter! For anyone who skipped/missed Part 1, don't worry! You'll still be just as eligible to consider yourself ICly part of the previous event!

As you may have already read from the discord announcement, the main gimmick of this event will be that quirks are able to be shuffled around, as in you can exchange your quirk for another for the duration of the event! You can find all the rules and expectations of how this can be done below, and as always, feel free to reach out if you have any further questions!

[attr="class","likedosub"]QUIRK EXCHANGE RULES

The following are the expectations and rules of those who are choosing to take advantage of the ability to swap out their characters' quirk:

1. You can only exchange a quirk. You can’t replace your quirk with a new one without performing an exchange.
2. Even when using the event as a precedent, you cannot combine two or more quirks into one or add another to your character to give you more than one quirk. You are trading OR keeping your original quirk, nothing more, nothing less.
   
3. If you are swapping with another PC, they must consent to the quirk swap. Once you do this, you are both required to use this quirk for the duration of the thread. You are not allowed to renege on your end of the deal. The only exception would be if either PCs is archiving their characters for whatever reason. This means that even if one character ultimately doesn’t participate in the event, they ICly will have been considered to have engaged in the quirk exchange. So please PLAN ACCORDINGLY.
4. The character you’re swapping with, whether your own or another PC, must be unarchived. This is non-negotiable.
5. If you choose to exchange your quirk for one on our preapproved canon list, only one of your x characters that can be exchanged from the list will be eligible to keep their quirk “privatized.” [As in not requiring to swap with a PC) Any additional past this one will be putting their quirk up on the “market” for anyone to claim as their own for the duration of the event.
6. You ARE able to exchange quirks with characters who aren’t actively participating in event whether they are from your own roster or otherwise!

1. Below we've listed what WILL NOT change when swapping quirks either with a PC or from the curated list
   1. Base Attributes [Not to be confused with Quirk attributes]
   2. Quirk Rank - Ex. your C Rank quirk would not become S Rank and vice versa. The rank of your new quirk remains the same as your original one.
   3. Equipment - You will keep your own equipment.
      
   4. Skills - Skills are not transferrable between PCs.

[attr="class","likedosub"]EVENT RULES

The following are the expectations and rules of participating in Dream World Part 2:

1. As a player, you can enter a total of two characters in either a Dream Thread, Nightmare Thread, or both in either category. Keep in mind, though, that this will not put two of your characters in the same thread. This may change depending on the number of participants entered.
2. Sign ups will close on March 8th, 2024. The threads will start on March 11th.
3. A posting schedule is in place, where a moderator begins a round, and all participants have 1 week to make at least 1 post before the moderator begins a new round. Everyone is allowed one pass to skip a round, but skipping a second round will result in no rewards being given for the skipped character. [You will not be removed from the thread, just not eligible for rewards.]
4. You may enter multiple characters in the event, but only TWO will be eligible for the token rewards. Any past these additional two entries will not be able to be placed in a Dream or Nightmare thread, but you're more than welcome to start a Zzz thread! [Ineligible for Tokens, but eligible for EXP under the monthly cap]. You can find more information on that below in 'Thread Types'

There are three kinds of threads: Dream Threads, Nightmare Threads, and a new type of thread, which we'll explain below!

Both Dream Threads and Nightmare Threads will be run by a moderator. In them, the objectives and obstacles you'll run into may vary and you'll need to be on your toes! We'll be attempting to place those in a group that aligns best with not only their new quirk but also what you are most interested in! You can find more information on these preferences on the sign up form!

• Dream Threads - This type of thread puts you in the 'Dream World' which is an alternative space where the rules of reality are flimsy at best! Your character has either been warped entirely into this space or alternatively is considered asleep in the real world during these threads!
  
• Nightmare Threads - You've never left the 'real world,' but you're subject to just as much of the chaos of society crumbling! You'll be operating in the locations you normally can, but it's turned into a bit of a nightmare!
• Zzz - This time around we're introducing a third type of thread which both is and isn't considered an event thread. There's a detailed explanation written below!

Zzz Threads are a new type of thread that could be considered a hybrid between an event prompt and your average thread! Firstly they aren't eligible for Tokens and you're not required to sign up to create one. These operate similar to our member event prompts in which you'll just need to add the [Zzz] tag to your thread. While they don't give Tokens these threads are eligible for EXP as long as you're within the cap, don't require moderation from us staff, and most importantly can be done at your own pace! You'll just need to submit your completed thread before the next season of events starts [June 1st, 2024] to receive credit, but you're not restricted when it comes to creating these threads between the start of Part 2 until the next season! Narratively these threads are considered to take place during the five day duration of Dream World and are a great way to show what other characters on your roster may have been up to during this period.

[attr="class","likedosub"]EVENT REWARDS

Players can earn a maximum of 200 Event Tokens by participating in the Event. This works out to 100 Tokens flat per character per thread. Dream Threads and Nightmare Threads are both worth 100 Tokens. The Event Tokens can be used to purchase things from the Event Shop.
