Without spoiling too much information for Part 2 of Dream World (Signups will officially go live on February 19th), there will be a 'revolutionary machine that lets you change your quirk or swap it with another individual' created by the great Aka Ao. As a result of this feature, we're putting out the official rules/expectations for this and letting you all declare your intent to exchange or reserve a quirk early! [break][break]Keep in mind that if your character gets archived OR fails to sign up when they go live officially, you'll forfeit your reservation.[break]

[attr="class","likedosub"]QUIRK EXCHANGE RULES

The following are the expectations and rules of those who are choosing to take advantage of the ability to swap out their characters' quirk:

1. You can only exchange a quirk. You can’t replace your quirk with a new one without performing an exchange.
2. Even when using the event as a precedent, You cannot combine two or more quirks into one or add another to your character to give you more than one quirk. You are trading OR keeping your original quirk, nothing more, nothing less.
   
3. If you are swapping with another PC, they must consent to the quirk swap. Once you do this, you are both required to use this quirk for the duration of the thread. You are not allowed to renege on your end of the deal. The only exception would be if either PCs is archiving their characters for whatever reason. This means that even if one character ultimately doesn’t participate in the event, they ICly will have been considered to have engaged in the quirk exchange. So please PLAN ACCORDINGLY.
4. The character you’re swapping with, whether your own or another PC, must be unarchived. This is non-negotiable.
5. If you choose to exchange your quirk for one on our preapproved canon list, only one of your x characters that can be exchanged from the list will be eligible to keep their quirk “privatized.” [As in not requiring to swap with a PC) Any additional past this one will be putting their quirk up on the “market” for anyone to claim as their own for the duration of the event.
6. You ARE able to exchange quirks with characters who aren’t actively participating in event whether they are from your own roster or otherwise!

1. Below we've listed what WILL NOT change when swapping quirks either with a PC or from the curated list
   1. Base Attributes [Not to be confused with Quirk attributes]
   2. Quirk Rank - Ex. your C Rank quirk would not become S Rank and vice versa. The rank of your new quirk remains the same as your original one.
   3. Equipment - You will keep your own equipment.
      
   4. Skills - Skills are not transferrable between PCs.

The following are the expectations and rules of participating in Dream World Part 2:

To add to the fun of Dream World, this is not only the thread to list your updated/new quirk for the event but also to list out any temporary flavor-related changes to your character! We know some PCs have qualities about them, either physically or mentally, that would be tied to their quirk factor, so we wanted to give everyone a chance to share any changes that would occur to your PC when their quirk is gone.[break]

Note: While you are required to fill out the information in the codebox below you are more than welcome also to put these 'changes' in your Plot Page via copying your character app code for some extra detail! An example of this can be found below!

Below are the rules/expectations:

1. Appearance - You are more than welcome to alter your appearance (for the event ONLY) as a result of your quirk having been exchanged with another. This is not applicable to mechanical benefits associated with the quirk and you are not required to alter your appearance! You're also free to copy the features of the person you're swapping with as long as you have their consent!
2. Personality - As your quirk factor can potentially alter your mind or personality, this is another change you're more than welcome to make! Any adjustments to their personality are considered temporary for the duration of the event and any PC will revert back to their normal state once the event is over.
   
3. Quirk Flavor Changes - As long as you have the consent of the player you're swapping with OR the consent of staff in the case of receiving a quirk from the curated list you're free to change the aesthetics of the quirk! This can range from changing the theme to even just changing the color of your abilities. Just remember to get permission before you do!
   
   For this event, I'm taking advantage of all these features for my character Iphigenia Pavlina. PC New Quirk for the Event: Blackwhip (From List)

Quirk Flavor Adjustments: Instead of black in coloration with a glowing light teal outline it is gold in coloration with a glowing pink outline.

Updated Quirk Description: Blackwhip grants the user the ability to produce energy tendrils from any part of their body and command them at will. While these tendrils would normally be black in coloration with a glowing light teal outline in the case of Iphi this has manifested as gold in coloration with a glowing pink outline. This Quirk appears to be powered by emotions, primarily anger, meaning the greater the anger, the stronger the Quirk becomes up to limit defined by what is expected of the quirk rank.

Blackwhip is primarily utilized for mid-air maneuverability by extending the energy tendrils towards fixed objects in space and pulling/swinging the user along or towards them and enemy binding by using the tendrils to grab hold of them or objects created by them.

Drawbacks:

Since its power is linked to the user's emotions, Blackwhip can be difficult for the user to control as if not entirely in control of their emotions, the user runs the risk of losing control of Blackwhip.

Blackwhip, despite being made of energy, is manifested as a physical construct, which means that other objects can block them and aren't able to interact with pure energy such as light or fire, not unlike a normal person.

Personality Adjustments: Due to the removal of her quirk 'High Spec,' Iphi has gotten a lot more expressive. She's jovial, chatty, and a LOT more daring. The traits that she had suppressed largely through logic have come to light. Without constantly fighting against her brain's logic center, she has fully embraced a leap-first attitude. While still maintaining her morals and drive to protect as a Pro Hero, she is much happier being able to throw herself headfirst into danger and let the others worry about the details for once.

Appearance Adjustments: Iphi's yellow ringed eyes have changed to Green

[Mafdet Khepri]

PC New Quirk for the Event: High Spec, Iphigenia Pavlina

Is your quirk going up on the Free Market?: Yes.
 
[OPTIONAL]Personality Adjustments: Due to gaining a quirk that affects their mind Khepri is slightly less whimsical and their questions become far more difficult to answer. Oftentimes they may go completely motionless with an empty expression as they contemplate matters on a whole new level, occasionally browsing through a giant book as they do.

[OPTIONAL]Appearance Adjustments: The loss of their exoskeleton and cat features causes Khepri to take on a far more standard human appearance. Additionally they now also possess five fingers on each hand instead of fours. They also carry around a giant book with an attached leather strap to carry it on their back. Where they got said book no one knows. <new appearance>

[Bakiri Retsu]

PC New Quirk for the Event: Blazing Hair (From list)

Is your quirk going up on the Free Market?: Yes, kinda. The lack of quirk is going on the free market

[OPTIONAL]Quirk Flavor Adjustments: Instead of being permanently on fire Retsu has to manually ignite the parts of her hair she wishes to be lit up. When unlit it is simply extremely long hair she has some rudimentary control over. The fire is colored violet pink.

[OPTIONAL]Updated Quirk Description: Blazing Hair allows the user to light their hair on fire and freely control the flames on their head. Said flames are volatile once separated from Retsu and detonate upon impact.

Retsu primarily utilizes it by grabbing chunks from her hair, which she can throw like fireballs or manipulate. She can also manipulate the flames to allow her to fly through the air. Additionally Retsu possesses some rudimentary control over the lengthened hair allowing her to use it for simple tasks.

QUIRK DRAWBACKS: Retsu's quirk factor is located in her left eye and any damage to it, whether temporary or permanent, reduces the effectiveness of her quirk. Additionally she must manually channel her quirk through her eye to set her hair on fire causing there to be a brief delay between the intended activation and the actual activation of her quirk.

Retsu's hair only returns to full length while in its fiery state and when the quirk is purposefully used to regrow it. As such she must carefully manage how much she uses her quirk lest she find herself out of ammo at the wrong time. Furthermore regrowing her hair is not an instant process and no other applications of the quirk can be used while regeneration is in process.

[OPTIONAL]Personality Adjustments: Retsu's temper is far less explosive and she manages to calm down far quicker than before.

[OPTIONAL]Appearance Adjustments: Retsu's left eye is no longer covered by an eyepatch and her hair is far longer. When channeling her new quirk her left eye takes on a lighter hue and has a slight glow to it.

[Makitori Hebi]

PC New Quirk for the Event: Quirkless

Is your quirk going up on the Free Market?: Yes! (Makitori Hebi's 'Serpentine')

[OPTIONAL]Updated Quirk Description: Hebi, having been pulled into the Dream World, has lost her Quirk and all its effects.

[OPTIONAL]Personality Adjustments: While still as passionate and idealistic as ever, Hebi's mind is no longer clouded by animalistic urges and instincts. She's a lot less reserved and no longer compulsively quiet, able to be both more outgoing and more peaceful in her own mind. Unfortunately for her, the stress of the event may not be the best environment for this change.

[OPTIONAL]Appearance Adjustments: As her appearance was altered so completely by her Quirk, Hebi is unrecognisable without it. She's still her normal height of 4'11", but lacks any of her distinctive mutant features. Light tan skin, almond-shaped dark brown eyes, and straight black hair cut to just above her shoulders. Like this, she could pass for just about any college-aged girl in (rural) Japan. Much to her dismay, she looks eerily similar to her mother.

[Ylva Riis]

PC New Quirk for the Event: Dark Shadow

[OPTIONAL]Quirk Flavor Adjustments: As Ylva does not have a random bird head her basic Dark Shadow looks like this and the 'powered up' version looks like this

[OPTIONAL]Updated Quirk Description: Dark Shadow grants the user a shadowy, monster-like being from within his body that they can materialize and de-materialize at will.

Dark Shadow effectively acts like Ylva's personal guardian, functioning as a living appendage that follows all of its master's commands. It is sentient, capable of speech, and loyally protects its host, regardless of the state it finds itself in.

Dark Shadow is always connected to Ylva's body through an "umbilical cord" , even when it moves far away from him. However, Ylva does not appear to share the same physical sensations as Dark Shadow, such as pain and weakness, or vice-versa, meaning that incapacitating just one of them will not prevent the other from acting out. It is somehow able to communicate with Ylva telepathically, as well.

Dark Shadow appears to possess the ability to change shape to some extent, as it can apparently extend the length of its arms and neck if so desired. It's said to be made of "dark energy", despite being a solid entity that can interact with the material world, but said energy has a limit, and Dark Shadow will retract into Ylva's body when said limit runs out. Certain actions can make this energy drain out faster, like making Dark Shadow take too many opposing hits or having it distance itself too much from Ylva's body. To recharge Dark Shadow, Ylva needs to keep it hidden from any source of light.

Weaknesses:
Dark Shadow's personality and offensive power depend on the surrounding brightness levels. Under strong light, Dark Shadow is small in comparison to when it is engrossed by darkness.

When under strong light, Dark Shadow also becomes rather timid, making it much more reluctant to fight or take action even with Ylva's commands.

PC New Quirk for the Event: Solid Air (from list)

Is your quirk going up on the Free Market?: Yes

[OPTIONAL]Quirk Flavor Adjustments: N/A

[OPTIONAL]Updated Quirk Description: Solid Air allows the user to solidify air to form constructs such as walls and platforms through their breath.

Air walls do not fall to the ground once solidified and will stay afloat in midair even when another person hangs onto it. They're soundproof as well, making them effective against Quirks that rely on their user's voice. The Durability of the barriers or constructs is equal to Hebiru's quirk rank.

Quirk Drawbacks: Due to Hebiru's lack of experience with lungs she finds Solid Air very difficult to use and requires optimal circumstances to create any sizeable barriers/constructs. Additionally she is completely incapable of making anything more complex than a flat surface with it and finds herself running out of breath quickly when using her quirk.

[OPTIONAL]Personality Adjustments: Due to no longer suffering from her original quirk Hebiru finds herself incredibly affected by the full breadth of her emotions without any experience whatsoever in dealing with them. This can lead to mood swings, mental instability and an inability to keep calm.

[OPTIONAL]Updated Quirk Description: Mark's right arm is capable of transforming into an organic rifle. This is done by bending his arm up, and a crease allows the barrel of the weapon to protrude. This gun is made of bone, and new muscles exist in order to form a pressure system to accelerate projectiles to supersonic speeds. There is a spot in his arm that allows him to load ammunition, but they cannot have any explosive properties else it might cause internal damage. Any items can be utilized, as long as they're small enough.

Personality Adjustments: More likely to talk to himself and have seemingly random outbursts, as if he's reacting to who's in his head instead of what's around him. In addition, he becomes more violent and aggressive the more he uses his new Quirk.

Appearance Adjustments: He has normal eyes now instead of the x's his pupils had originally.
