Ylva had just returned from her day of errands. With no classes that she needed to attend that day, she made an effort to go grocery shop and agreed to, or in the case of Masao, begrudgingly grab them for her dorm. First, she just had to make a quick stop at the hospital to visit her cousin. After their first meeting and discovery of their relationship, Ylva had originally intended to just leave her alone until the results of the Sports Festival found her without much family of her own. Getting permission from The Gorgon she was allowed to visit twice a week, and Ylva made a point to bring Ageru leftovers or groceries to give her a break from hospital food. From the stories she told it seemed like she had it rough with memories of her mom (Ylva's paternal aunt) being fleeting at best and the photos showing a much much younger Ageru with her mother, Jusou Saku aka. Aside from the alarming fact that fox ears were a potential genetic trait in her family and that she could have had them gave her the chills. What was more surprising was that Ageru claimed her mother hadn't even come to see her all this time until very recently and that bothered Ylva even moreso now that her own dad was basically ignoring her.[break][break]
Her presence at her dorm wasn't at all surprising but more so unwelcome. "You need to go visit Ageru more often." She would gesture for Saku to follow, happy that neither Masao or Misaki were around to witness this. Once she swiped into her dorm room and let Saku in, she would motion for her to take a seat, but Ylva would choose to stand. "I don't really care why you're here personally; you should probably have been there for your own kid instead of your niece."[break][break]

As much as Ylva wanted to poke holes in the plan, it was a good one. As much as she wanted to say otherwise if they had to stay close and they were in front, combined with her being public enemy number 1, they needed to turtle up. Of course she would never share that she agreed as she just silently formed the shield around them. She had to slow down to make sure the ice didn't start melting, but with the gap between them and the others behind they didn't need to rush.[break][break]
"I don't need to worry about that." She would accept the bomb when it was her turn. "I can keep this going even if I'm doing other things." When the time came she would hand it to the next person. Her sensory network was on full blast as she walked slowly and deliberately ready to put up defenses or go on the offense at the moment it became necessary.[break][break]
Once they managed to cross the finish line, assuming nothing else went wrong, Ylva would simply leave without a word. This nightmare was over and first place was all that mattered, but it still didn't shake this feeling of irritation. Her family was watching, but she could tell they weren't exactly pleased with her so far. It was frustrating.[break][break]

"You've gone over your talking quota today, Andy." Ylva remarked as she made her way to the center of the area, going along with the plan regardless of how many people she needed to sabotage. "Only communicate when necessary. This is a joint exercise, and we have a bomb to carry." She'd turn to Jun. "It's a competition, it's not real, and you'd be a moron to pretend it is. Winning is all that matters." The entire Sports Festival was basically one big advertisement, and nothing mattered more than how you performed.[break][break]
Ylva would join the group in movement, being careful not to fall, but her attention was elsewhere. When it was her turn, she would take the bomb, but for now, it was her job to knock everyone else off who was moving on the alternative paths. With a couple of ice walls and slick traps, she'd watch several groups fall and made a mental note to count the timing of the bomb before it detonated, announcing to the group the new number "6 Seconds."[break][break]
Thank god the goal was in sight, just a little further and she'd be free from this group.[break][break]

Normally this would be the part where the mastermind would give some sort of big speech or something similar and thankfully for Ylva's sake being underwater didn't let this guy run his mouth. It didn't stop him from making gestures to himself such as pointing to his face as to indicate 'Remember me?' and trying to tell a story through mimicry. Ylva would just stare, her eyes slowly drifting down to the fairly large pile of gems beneath him, which she guessed came from the others who tried to take her out the same way. A pact of solidarity? More like weakness, depending on others wouldn't make you any stronger.[break][break]
With a fairly impressive display the man before her would flex, his muscles bulging as the current of water began to flow towards him. It would glow and wrap around his arms and hands, forming what almost looked like an avatar of water. With a single movement of a finger from the avatar, Ylva would feel the pressure of the water increase as he pointed at her clearly taunting her with his power.[break][break]
As Ylva paused to observe her eyes narrowed. This was probably the biggest idiot she'd ever seen, even moreso than Masao or Khepri. What kind of a moron would choose to fight her in HER element? He might have thought his water was the ultimate technique down here or that he could overpower her ice. Soon he would find out his mistake as she raised an arm and with a snap freeze he would find every part of his body, except his head, covered in ice.[break][break]
Ylva would swim over, giving him a slight push to make him stuck like a turtle on his back it would an easy task gathering all the gems into one ice bubble. From there, it was a matter of retracing her steps with the big ice bubble in tow. When she finally escaped the cave system, she would grip it as it carried her to the surface. A few moments after she emerged, the sound of the alarm for the end of the event would ring out, and Ylva would dump her surplus on the stage to be counted.[break][break]

Making her way into the cave system Ylva would grip onto the walls to push herself along quicker. The people from earlier really wasted her time and she hadn't found more than one pile of gems. It was enough to place sure, but not enough to place high. She had to keep going until she literally couldn't carry anymore. Freezing the collection she had into a tight sphere she would place it in the bag she was allowed to bring. [break][break]
As she reached around another bend, she would feel something cold clamp against her exposed wrist, which would send her flying to the adjacent wall. Raising an eyebrow she would look to find what looked like a metal cuff that had attached to her arm and the wall behind it, with a tug proving her guess correct as it didn't budge. [break][break]
From her fixed position she would look over to see two people pointing at her, one clearly using his quirk to keep her stuck while another was making some hand movements that Ylva couldn't quite figure out the reason for just yet but...well she wouldn't have to wait that long. The rumbling of the geysers was getting closer with the girl clearly moving the water towards her.[break][break]
Ylva internally sighed, getting even more irritated with the sabotage efforts. They were not good at it, and that somehow felt worse. Perhaps they should have done their homework since Ylva didn't need her hands to manipulate her quirk, and as the water was headed in her direction, she would form an ice wedge and then increase the density to make a plug. This, unfortunately for them, redirected the water back to them and shot them out of the cave system with some of the water headed to a bug creature that Ylva, fortunately, wasn't aware was in the same cave system just in a different part. Ylva would freeze the cuff on her wrist and then with her free hand she would rip herself free. A glitter in the opposite direction meant there was probably a stockpile of gems there...along with the 'final boss'

Diving deeper after taking care of the pest from the start of the competition, she soon realized she wasn't even close to being done. With her sensory network muted due to being submerged, her eyesight definitely wasn't, and it was clear that someone was putting themselves in between the cave entrance and her first pile of gems.[break][break]
The gestures this girl was making clearly meant she wasn't friendly, and Ylva raised an eyebrow as she opened her mouth and a stream of bubbles shot out, quickly enveloping Ylva as they began to carry her to the surface. The girl smirked behind her rebreather only for that smirk to turn into shock as Ylva used the pocket of air to create a shard of ice and used it to pop the bubbles.[break][break]
With the girl preparing another onslaught, she would soon find herself upside down as Ylva had frozen her feet with an ice block that was less dense than water, and she shot up to the surface. With that obstacle taken out she gathered up her first pile of gems before continuing further inside, currently not aware that there would be two people waiting for her inside the cave system.[break][break]

The nameless competitor may have wanted to close the gap and overtake Ylva, but Calli distracted him. The person Ylva just wiped out was a good friend of his and he was eager to get his revenge and humiliate her in the same breath, but unfortunately for him he wouldn't get close. [break][break]
Calli's shouting got him to turn to face her for a moment. "Would you SHUT UP? If we take out the girl I can geeeeeeeeee..." Meeting Calli's eyes meant one thing, instant vertigo. His peddling became sporadic as the handles of his bike shook with the world spinning around him, and before he knew it, he had come to a stop entirely and fell over. [break][break]
Luckily for the girls, they weren't around to see him vomit after being subjected to intense dizziness. For Ylva, once she passed the goal, she ground her brakes to a stop, and without paying any mind to who, in this case, Calli, came up behind her, she hopped off and left the course. Another day and another event that Ylva felt particularly well suited for. As much as she didn't consider herself a swimmer she had scanned the competition rules, and with this much available moisture she could basically dominate the arena without issue.[break][break]
That would be IF she didn't have a group of students from a few previous competitions who were holding a grudge. It was a group of 5 people who had agreed to team up to make sure Ylva lost this event. [break][break]
Had Ylva known Khepri was actually participating, she would have turned her into an ice block and left her at the bottom of the arena until the event was over, but in a way, they were both lucky. When the bell rang out Ylva dived into the water only to be followed by the first individual who turned his arms into a vacuum and attempting to hold Ylva at the surface. With a half turn she would freeze a few small pockets of water in between them sending icy shards into the vacuum causing the guy to eject himself from the water, unable to continue.[break][break]

"Focus, Andy." Ylva would bark out as they moved through the obstacles. If there was anyone that was going to drag them down it would be a support student like Masao. Not only did she suck at this kind of thing, but she was too busy running her mouth. Instead of doing the smart thing and keeping track of the timer on the bomb. [break][break]
She would wave away the chains that Jun would offer for support, and instead, she would make a progressive, rudimentary set of footholds that would fall apart once she stood on them. She would use these to climb up, mostly skipping the rock climbing wall entirely, and once she made it to the top, she would begrudgingly agree with Masao internally and speak up, "Since Misaki is passing it back to Jun, they go first." She'd look at Masao. "Don't slow us down with your clunky armor." While she wasn't sharing quite yet, she did have an idea on how to move through this obstacle course quickly, but first, she would create a sheet of ice on another group's path and watched as they slipped and dropped the bomb. Even with the electrical current finally being brought to an end, thanks to the combined efforts of her and Misaki, Ylva could still feel the aftershocks preventing her from moving for a bit. Thankfully, Misaki had Jacko handled long enough for Ylva to shake it off, but they were soon running into another problem. Jacko's ominous ticking, combined with him seeming "giving up" made her look away from their fight to see what the others were up to and...things were not looking too good.[break][break]
She would glare at Jacko, and since she refused to leave anything more to chance, she would form another orb and attempt to cover his whole head with ice to suffocate him. He had done enough damage to them collectively and the more of these freaks they left alive the bigger the chance of casualties.[break][break]
"Misaki, get UP." She moved slowly towards Misaki and attempted to shake her awake; regardless of whether she got up, Ylva would lift her over her shoulder and make her way over to Kiku, attempting to do the same. She was dragging herself around at this point with the recoil from using her Super Move so many times in quick succession. She could feel the strain in every step as if someone was jabbing her repeatedly with thousands of pins and needles.[break][break]
If this was a bomb, she couldn't let their efforts go to waste. When she got close enough to the spot, they were going to rally to with Masao and Enma; assuming he got off the creature before it took flight, she'd drop them as gently as she could, nearly collapsing on the spot herself. Pushing herself back to her feet well past her limits, she would speak, "Whatever happens, don't intervene." She would aim her palms toward the 'flying bomb' and fired continuous rounds of Winter's Grasp to coat the bomb in layers upon layers of ice. The pain ramped up with Ylva, the skin on her hands beginning to crack and bleed, but she wouldn't stop. She'd either stop this bomb or die trying.[break][break]
