"Nothing here can kill me." she'd respond flatly as she had much bigger aspirations and goals then to become fish food. If Freja wasn't strong enough to keep up or smart enough to take her advice on the matter than it was her funeral. As long as she had undeniable proof that she did try to help her out whatever state she ended up in didn't matter in the long run. Survival of the fittest was the only thing that mattered.[break][break]
Her assault on the creature had some effect, and clearly, it made the creature realize that there was always a bigger fish. In her case, she just happened to be the smallest one there. Frejas intervention didn't receive any outward praise from Ylva, but it did give her another chance to get another strike in. She was deceptively strong as she was able to hold the creature back from charging her and with a modified bat nonetheless. [break][break]
Still unperturbed as the fire sprites entered the fray, if there was one thing Ylva was extremely confident about above all else, it was her ability for area denial and crowd control. Her methods were brutal and, at times, disregarded the safety of those around her, but in this case, there was enough distance between her and Freja that it wasn't a concern. Well, it never was but she couldn't get blamed for it later. As the fire sprites charged she could use the water on the path in front of her from the earlier fire breath to rebuild small walls, just enough to stand over the fire sprites as they charged. When they ineviabty made it through the walls she would use the water as it feel as a point to freeze the fire sprites entirely one by one and then would stack more ice on top of them by rebuilding the ice the more they struggled by refreezing the moisture over and over again. They had the numbers, but she definitely outclassed them in stamina. She'd very slowly move her free hand up again this time taking the anglergorilla, who had proved more durable than expected, and changing up her tactics. [break] [attr="class","nikki109"]Upon closer inspection during her passing it was the girl who tried to make small talk at the BBQ that Ylva was very much not into. She had made their encounter super awkward and frankly Ylva wasn't interested in trying to recreate that. Still it was a time where some communication was required as she would probably actually getting into trouble if she let another student die while she was around - especially when they were her junior. "I'm not going to let a freshman die. That would take away from my standing at the school." she wasn't going to stop walking unless she really had to. If she had wanted to avoid the danger, she wouldn't have continued on her path. Well the monsters resurgence was definitely a good way to get her to stop. Her shoulders would slump a bit as she turned around to engage the creature once again. [break][break]
"If you're that injured go take a seat somewhere." she said flatly as the fire came towards her. A classic matchup that for most people would be troublesome, but fire combined with the ice generated from her quirk just gave her more ammunition. She would use her knowledge of Glaciology to freeze the moisture from the ground up in front of her forming an ice wall that she would reinforce with another if needed. Assuming the fireball just melted the wall this just gave her more moisture to work with. Without skipping a beat she would immediately go on the offensive, this time freezing the space above the creature to create an ice block that would drop on its head if it didn't move out of the way. If allowed Ylva would do this again and again until it either go wise and moved or she ran out of ammunition. [break] [attr="class","nikki109"]A day away from Andy meant Ylva could do whatever she wanted for once without any supervision. No narcs or any buzzkills to keep her down. Of course this meant her actually going out to do something and in this case she was basically flipped a coin. Tokyo Bay was a historic site of industry and she had never been. Shiketsu was always so far away from some of the more populous areas so after some deliberation she decided to take a day trip. The peace and quiet along with the freedom to do whatever she please was very much overdue.[break][break]

By the time she arrived the place had devolved into pure chaos. There were these weird fish monsters running around and destroying things. Surprisingly her first instinct wasn't to act or even to leave as she still wanted to see the sights otherwise what was the point in coming all the way out here? She did have to shoot a quick text to Andy 'There are monsters here. I'm authorized to use my quirk so I'm gonna do it. Make sure to take responsibility for any damages I make. - Y' and she would turn off her phone so Andy couldn't object or tell her to stay put for backup.[break][break]
As she made her way down the street at a leisurely pace, which was insane given the circumstances, she would take it all in. These were definitely sea creatures as she could feel denser pockets of moisture all around her that she'd only ever experienced at places like the aquarium. She would pass a frantic mother clutching her child as they ran away which meant that in that direction she could cut loose. The idea of making Andy fill out a buttload of paperwork was too good to pass up - she was super annoying and this was payback. As she approached Freja who was battered pretty badly she'd give a quick up and down over the gorilla thing before lifting a hand and concentrating. From Freja's perspective, she'd see the gorilla anglerfish shimmer with diamond dust for a moment before freezing it down to its core. This was always much easier the more satured things were and oceanic life was filled to the brim with water. Assuming the creature didn't break free she would make her way past Freja and continue down the path heading towards the sounds of more chaos and destruction. She had bigger fish to fry...well freeze. [break][break]

She had hoped her choice to sit alone would be respected and that those around her could pick up on the "subtle" clues that she didn't want to chat with anyone. Otherwise why sit alone? Like she was shy? What a weird assumption to make. If she were shy she wouldn't have even bothered to attend the event - Yet here came someone who either had a lot of confidence or zero social skills. Once Freja opened her mouth and word vomited, trying to strike up a conversation, it became clear that it was the latter. [break][break]
There was a bit of surprise when Freja correctly pointed out what she was eating and its actual name, but the further introduction made that reasoning all clear. She was also European, especially with a name like Freja Helt. Even still, if Freja was hoping for some sort of friendly banter or optimistic introduction on Ylva's end, she would be very disappointed as she continued to sit, eating her food while staring up at her much much taller junior. Was it rude? Absolutely! Ylva wasn't here to make friends, so without any further intervention, she would continue to stare at Freja as she ate, hoping that she'd get the hint that she wasn't interested and take a hike. [break] [attr="class","nikki109"]Yearound there were always pop up events at UAU with some being related to your discipline such as rescue or combat exercises and others that were set up as social events for the students. The Department of Cultural and Creative Studies' summer BBQ was the later. It celebrated all the traditional "BBQ" foods from cultures worldwide to kick off the summer. For many in the other courses outside of the hero discipline, it also served as a great networking experience for them as they could get together to mingle and discuss various projects they were working on. All in all it was terrible.[break][break]
Part of the terms of Ylva's transfer to UAU involved a requirement to attend at least one of these social events per month for the full duration. She dreaded it as these types of things did nothing for her grades or involved any training to make her stronger. It was pretty useless when she was hyper-fixated on only doing things to further her own goals...well, her family's desires were pretty much synonymous at this point. Even still, better to get these things out of the way early so she could get back to being productive. [break][break]
Luckily for her, the terms were simply that she needed to attend for the full duration and not go out of her way to socialize with anyone. Thank god as anything else, and she would have reconsidered attending the school. [break][break]
The one thing she enjoyed about UAU was the variety in cuisine, which was no exception. Since it was a multicultural event, she was much more comfortable requesting some of the foods she grew up with rather than defaulting to the Japanese cuisine that she usually did in the cafeteria. Kåldolmar, Brændende kærlighed, and frikadeller were some of her favorite comfort foods. With her plate of food sufficiently filled, she would tuck herself away in a shaded corner as far away from the main groups of people as she could while not discrediting her "social experience". Ylva is complex. Her family has very much shaped her personality. For the uninitiated, she can be very muted, choosing only to speak when she has something important to say or when she feels like it, not displaying any emotion on her face beyond a passive, neutral expression. This, combined with her reserved and slightly arrogant nature, means that she has no qualms about pointing out faults or observations, no matter how socially awkward or mean they might be. Even if it's not intended to be malicious. As cocky as she can be, Ylva isn't an ignorant person. Being reticent has its perks; one of them is that she is highly observant, not wanting to make any rash moves or act in a way that expends unnecessary energy. Whether this is because of her family's influence over her or because of the very nature of her quirk factor is unknown, but there is likely some overlap between the two to explain her actions. She has no problem stepping on others to elevate herself, and when questioned about this, her usual response is to dismiss it as "you would do the same." Although her demeanor is cold (literally), there may still be a chance for Ylva to redeem herself and become a typical young adult. As meta abilities or colloquially named 'quirks' began to manifest and crime increased, those who manifested quirks became vigilantes. For Ylva's grandfather, this was his calling despite being in his thirties when he received a quirk factor. A man of ice and snow dubbed 'Captain Colding' was one of the earliest to turn away from vigilantism when the Pro Hero system was fully realized. Captain Colding became fairly renowned in his home country, working efficiently and extremely effective at dealing with villains. This continued on for years, with Captain Colding having a son who was eager to live up to the hero name, but unfortunately, his son was born quirkless, something which was growing increasingly uncommon as the years went by. All of this fame and fortune came crashing down one day when Captain Colding was framed for the murder of civilians by a jealous competitor. Using a quirk similar enough to his, this person would bring down the legacy of Captain Colding in one fell swoop, resulting in the Riis family losing every bit of prestige they once had. This caused Captain Colding to retire and fall into a deep depression unceremoniously. This greatly affected his son (Ylva's dad), who decided early on to raise his own child to get back at the heroes who framed his father. He would use any means necessary to attain this goal, even letting others experiment on Ylva and her quirk factor to strengthen it, resulting in some modifications to her genetics, which altered her physical appearance and gave her some of her unique facial features. From an early age, Ylva was raised with two expectations: becoming the strongest and never questioning her family. Her mother and father would spend as much time and energy as they could in an attempt to turn her into the perfect weapon for their vengeance. Due to this, Ylva grew up isolated, only being allowed to focus on things that would better herself and bring her family back to their good standing. When the time came, Ylva would be enrolled in Shiketsu and performed at the top of her class for her year. The Shiketsu Sports Festival was when this all nearly all came crashing down. During the one-on-one portion of the event, she brutalized her opponent to the point where the exam proctors had to intervene. She was subsequently kicked out of the school, but due to some intervention by those connected with her family that knew the truth of their downfall, she ended up with an alternative path. She would be taken in by UAU as long as she had a student liaison to monitor her and keep her out of trouble. A true paragon of a student would be chosen for this purpose. The real question was, who? [attr="class","body"] [attr="class","header2"]QUIRK  QUIRK NAME: Eternal Winter QUIRK RANK: A QUIRK TYPE: Emitter QUIRK DESCRIPTION:If you ask Ylva or her family, they would call Eternal Winter the ultimate ice-type quirk, not because of its potency or malleability but due to its extremely large range of influence. Its abilities are split into two main categories. First, she has the ability to sense moisture all around her at all times. This is moisture in any form, such as in the air, as a pool of water, in drinks, or even in human bodies. Even when compared to other ranged quirks, this works in a very large radius from herself. As it's an expanded sensory network for her internally and not dependent on sight, the closer the moisture is to pure water, the more potent this sensory ability is. [Replaces Awareness]
The main ability of Eternal Winter is to lower the temperature of moisture around her to or below freezing. This is not to be mistaken for control over ice or moisture nor can she create complex constructs (Although she can build rudimentary structures, just not anywhere close to the degree of that type of quirk) It is a very effective quirk that uses available moisture to freeze. It is due to this that Ylva can freeze virtually anything by either freezing the moisture surrounding or on an object and given that most things are at the very least surrounded by moisture, her range of influence extends to those as well. The more dense the moisture in a single spot the deeper the freeze will be and for things completely saturated with moisture it can/will freeze them down to their core in one move. Eternal Winter isn’t a gradual process instead it works as a snap freeze with the volume of the frozen area being tied to the saturation. The rapid activation of her quirk slingshots the temperature to its freezing point. Since eternal winter relies on Ylva’s own internal energy to manipulate the existing environment and not her creating a substance, it has the unique quality of not being explicitly weak to heat/fire to the point of uselessness. Fire or Heat that can increase temperature doesn’t eliminate her ability to freeze; it just slows it down to the point where she requires much more energy to freeze. QUIRK DRAWBACKS: The most critical weakness for Ylva’s quirk is that in order to freeze/keep things frozen she can’t move while her quirk is active. Once she starts moving and her own body temperature rises, so does anything she has frozen, meaning that being active enough will prevent her quirk from working entirely. While she can freeze moisture in the air, if not done so with a connecting anchor point, it will simply fall and shatter as it requires being built up from a stable medium in order not to fall apart. As stated before, the hotter the temperature, the more energy and longer it takes to freeze. Lastly, there is an indicator that something will be affected by her quirk activation, as any moisture being frozen will shimmer with diamond dust moments before being frozen. [attr="class","body"] [attr="class","header2"]SUPERMOVES  SUPERMOVE NAME: Jigoku no Nenshō [Burning Hell] SUPERMOV RANK: B SUPERMOVE DESCRIPTION: Burning Hell allows Ylva to increase the kinetics of atoms and molecules, causing them to combust and ignite. By inverting her quirk, she can produce heat and fire instead of her normal cold and ice. Mechanically, this works differently than Eternal Winter as she is required to manifest energy (visible to others), which turns a red/orange instead of the standard blue and flows outward from her body. Instead of using moisture in the environment, it uses her energy as a catalyst to form streams of flame, which ultimately means that she can shape the flames however she wants by bending or directing her energy. She calls this ignition ability Sæt i flammer [Set Ablaze] SUPERMOVE DRAWBACKS:As Burning Hell requires Ylva’s energy as a catalyst that needs to be produced, it requires her to make a path of her energy and ignite it that way so it's not a near instant ignition like her freeze. Since the energy is required to flow to maintain her flames, she uses up significantly more energy than her quirk at baseline. Similar to her quirk's critical weakness, if Ylva moves while using this Super Move, the flames will weaken until they’re snuffed out, meaning that being active enough will prevent her Super Move from working entirely.  SUPERMOVE NAME: Winter's Grasp SUPERMOV RANK: B SUPERMOVE DESCRIPTION: Winter's Grasp allows Ylva to manifest the energy from her quirk, which becomes visible as a bright blue shimmering energy. She then condenses this energy into spheres of varying sizes, which gain physics as it can be touched freely (by her) and held in her hands. The real application of this Super Move comes when Ylva throws these orbs, which, unlike her normal quirk, provide an immediate deep freeze as the energy disperses and envelops whatever it touches. This freeze is much more potent than her normal quirk as the generation of energy condensed into a smaller space means that when it hits something, it forms multiple layers of ice around the target. Ylva can also determine whether the orbs detonate when they contact an object or person. SUPERMOVE DRAWBACKS: These orbs are created at Ylva's person and due to having physics they need to be moved by her via throwing to be effective at range which requires Ylva to aim accurately and physically throw them. She loses the ability to create ice and snap freeze at a range entirely now only being able to focus on creating the orbs. In Ylva's case her knowledge of this is strictly due to her families strong history of ice-based quirks and the implication that the more she studies the better she'll be with her own quirk when the time comes.
