Someone like The Concoter wasn't special; it was the same self-indulgent motivation that all the other villains had. A taste of power and they let their ego go out of control. Typical.[break][break] The darkness cocoon was a welcome surprise, and Gen's new quirk was eerily familiar, even if it looked different. Ylva had fought Jun in the past, and it was fairly recognizable even in its twisted new form. Quirks were just as much psychological as they were biological, and this past week had given Ylva plenty of time to work with her new quirk, and the biggest takeaway was that 'Dark Shadow' was pretty on the nose. Ylva wasn't going to let this opportunity go to waste. Addressing both Jun and Gen in one go with what would be an initially confusing statement. "I wasn't talking to either of you."[break][break] From her back, Dark Shadow would emerge, with one large four-fingered hand first escaping the confines of Ylva's body. Both the hand and the arm it was attached were massive compared to the trio and were followed by three more arms as Dark Shadow fully manifested in a monstrous form. Jun, Gen, and the other creatures in the room were greeted by an imposing black shadow creature with long arms and legs, standing on its hind two feet like an animal. [break][break] "Go Wild." Ylva barely got this out as Dark Shadow used its large, long arms to swat the creatures away at will. The darkness may have been an illusion, but unless Ylva was told otherwise, Dark Shadow would continue to rampage in its powered-up mode. She was set on proving herself at the school and from what Ylva knew she had a lot riding on her success at UAU. In a way she was just as obligated to help Ylva as Ylva was obligated to listen to her. "I'm not worried about being a model student. Unlike others, I don't concern myself with that. She would take this opportunity to start freezing the creatures that Andy missed. They were pretty resilient as she had to freeze them more than once to stop their advance—an easy enough task for someone like her. "The plan is eradication. There will be others to focus on saving civilians, so I'll be terminating these things." She would walk up and smash more of the creatures until there were only a few left. "I've already done my part and I'll continue to do it until these things are gone. [break] [attr="class","nikki109"]Whoever this was they were not only infuriatingly ignorant, but they were also making a mess. Spilling the soupy mess all over Ylva's desk, the floor, and even some splashing on her bed sheets. Instead of just watching she would get bolder, gripping Khepris's stirring hand to get them to stop and staring at them. "Stop what you're doing and go home" [break][break]
She was about to drag Khepri out if she had to and would throw away all their junk later but paused at the mention of a 'red-haired smith'. So this WAS Andy's doing. It was just then that Ylva got the best idea. She knew that Andy never locked her door so as to "always be ready to help anyone who came to her," so why would she let this...thing mess up her room when she could kill two birds with one stone? "You know what? I'll help you. We have the perfect space set up for all your stirring," she'd gesture for Kherpi to follow, and they'd enter Ando's room. Ylva was immediately irritated seeing all of her books and tacky decorations but would point to Andy's bed. "You can stir that stuff there. Spills don't matter trust me."[break][break]

[break] [attr="class","nikki109"]She didn't like this, not one bit. The Concocter was messing with them that much was clear. Whether it was to stall for time or perhaps this was a monkey's paw situation, Ylva would clam up entirely, taking the opportunity to observe. She didn't necessarily care whether Jun did something stupid or not, but the homeless student was clearly asking for it. When dealing with someone who granted wishes, you had to be very careful with what you said, of which she probably should have taken her own advice.[break][break]
Even still, now was the time to observe so she could be ready to report back to her group once she either figured out The Concocter's secret or took this whole place down. The latter seemed increasingly likely with every word out of The Concocter's mouth. As she slid the glass closer, Ylva would make no effort to hide her, taking a large step back. The liquid being poured into the glass that way wasn't unnerving to her in particular, but it was unnatural. As she addressed them one by one, she eventually landed on Ylva, whose eyes narrowed at her confirmation of the folklore surrounding wish masters and the twists that one would often find in those same stories. [break][break]
She would soon be glad she took the step back as the glass tipped and the room changed. An illusion? No this felt all too real. She didn't have her old quirk, but she did have a second set of eyes watching all this go down. "Thoughts on this?" she would say aloud, receiving nothing but a muffled shrug from Dark Shadow. To Jun and Gen, it was as if she was talking to herself even if this wasn't the case. The echoing in her head about the trampling of others wasn't exactly something Ylva had a problem with; she'd be number 1 after all, no matter who she needed to step on to get there.[break][break]
Ylva would take a defensive stance as the crowd charged, positioning herself behind Gen and Jun and swinging at her full strength at anyone close to her. "Stay on defense; if I need you, I'll call for you!" again, it was said aloud and easily able to be misconstrued by Gen and Jun as if she were talking to them.[break][break]

- Ylva goes quiet as The Concocter speaks, not willing to engage with her if a monkey's paw situation comes up

[break] [attr="class","nikki109"]Ylva once again would tune out the two of them for the most part only partially listening to Misaki but DEFINITELY not listening to Andy. Too much talking and if this was supposed to be a break from school she didn't need to actually pay attention. Besides she was hyperfocused on one thing only: the milkshake.[break][break]
If there was anything that would break the stoic mask Ylva always had it was watching the milkshake be made. Whatever machinery they were using to mix it was entirely new to her, and she was no newcomer to the process. In the past, she would make her own at home whenever she had a break from her studies or training, with Shiketsu's cafeteria being rather lackluster compared to UAU. As they finished up and handed her the drink she would marvel for a moment at it before taking a sip. Had Misaki or the annoying one been watching her at that moment they'd catch one of the rarest occurrences - a genuine smile.[break][break]
It was fleeting as Misaki suggested a rollercoaster; she would go back to her normal expression. "Yes, what person hasn't been on a rollercoaster before?" seeing the tea in Andy's hand, she would recoil in disgust, finishing her milkshake in record time and using this to move away from Andy and throw the container away. Gross.[break][break]

[break] [attr="class","nikki109"]Ylva's expression sharpened as she watched Jun just barely get away. She would make a mental note to not telegraph anymore for the fight. Usually, her quirk was effective enough to take care of things in one attack, but Jun was a bit faster than her usual targets. Upperclassmen were entirely different than Freshmen it seemed.[break][break]
She was initially curious about what the equipment Jun had and with it aiding in her quick escape Ylva would have her answer. Jun being able to use the 3D space of the grounds was annoying as Ylva didn't have anything to chase her down. It seemed like this would be a battle of attrition, which Ylva was confident she wouldn't lose.[break][break]
The anchors were a surprise. In fact Ylva was only able to barely dodge them with the last one that came clipping her shoulder a bit. Painful sure, but nothing she couldn't power through. It did inform her that if she took a direct hit it would be pretty debilitating. So she moved to the same corner Jun was previously in and as her ice melted, she grabbed the boot Jun "dropped". If she was going to use a vantage point Ylva was going to use her artillery.[break][break]
She collected the melting ice into the boot until it was filled with water and then, with all her might, she threw the boot at Jun. Her ability to sense moisture made it easy to track Jun even if she couldn't actually reach her. When the boot would get close to Jun, water spilling out as it flew, Ylva would snap her fingers and freeze it. What the end result was was a much larger frozen projectile that had spikes coming out of it made of the ice.[break][break]

[break] [attr="class","nikki109"]Ylva was thriving in this new reality, even if she initially didn't start out that way. At the time of the wave which caused the chaos she had been lamenting her day was wasted by being 'persuaded' to tag along with Misaki and Andy at the festival. Luckily for her, this was the only day she was required to be there, and as if the universe agreed, both Misaki and Andy would keel over when the clock struck 7. Initially, she thought this was another prank by MJ, but after the power fluctuated and the sounds of the city being thrown into chaos got louder, it was very clear that this was a full-on crisis. For the briefest, tiniest moment, Ylva thought about just going back to her dorm but ultimately sighed and went to retrieve Misaki and Andy's bodies to make sure they were in a safe spot. [break][break] The quirk exchange was jarring for some, but Ylva couldn't feel or sense her physical change. Even as she lifted the two over her shoulders, goddamn Andy was big; her hair began to darken, slowly shifting from its normal white to the darkest possible black on the color spectrum. Something was also stirring inside of her even if she couldn't recognize it yet. As she passed by another area, she saw another familiar face: Freja, who was slumped over just a few feet from another UAU girl she had seen around. She paused, wondering momentarily if she had dropped Andy and if she could carry them both. If only she had another set of arms... [break][break] From her abdomen, a black mass would erupt and fly towards Freja and the other girl scooping them both up before returning to Ylva. It would face her while holding the two, with sharp teeth and ringed eyes. For a time, the two would stare at each other until the shadow spoke a single sentence: "You ready?"[break][break] 4 Days Later [break][break] In an alleyway, a man would fly into the street and crumple with Ylva, stepping out of the darkness with a looming figure behind her. As she stepped into the streetlights, the figure would shrink and disappear. She looked very different from her usual appearance, with bulky armor and pitch-black hair to match. "Dark Shadow, restrain him." The shadow figure would grab a nearby guard rail and bend it to surround the criminal in a makeshift restraint. "Riis, come in Riis." Ylva would put her finger up to her ear. "We sent someone to investigate this wish granter but they didn't check in. Can you go to support them?" Ylva would answer succinctly, "Yes." she had heard of a lot of villains establishing footholds in this new chaotic world.[break][break] Making her way to the coordinates, she could feel the influence of whatever The Concocter was using to lure people in. Luckily she wasn't alone, Dark Shadow had become a valuable companion over these last few days. Ylva would be the last to arrive immediately, recognizing Jun from their previous spar. The talk about Shiketsu did get her to turn around even as she held the weight on the worm creature up with her own strength. Surely Andy knew about her reasoning for being forced out of the school, so why would she even bother? "I have nothing negative to say about Shiketsu. They did what they had to do." She hadn't brutalized that student for no reason but that reason would not be shared with Andy today...nor ever. She would drop her shield once Andy knocked it over and then do her usual thing and freeze it in place. Perhaps it was because Andy was frustrating her or just to be efficient. Perhaps that was a mistake. Ylva could feel multiple water sources arriving from multiple directions- an ambush. The cannonballs managed to get through all of her defenses for a 'warning shot,' which to Ylva meant that Jun had more tricks up her sleeve. [break][break]
As for Jun's disappearance, it perhaps would have been more effective against anyone else other than her. While Ylva lost track of her with her eyes, there was always her extra sense from her quirk. She hadn't gone far, likely aiming for a surprise attack, so Ylva couldn't counter. Smart girl. Ylva would take the opportunity to feign ignorance, looking from left to right and slowly walking forward to where she would pass Jun's hiding spot. "She's quick," Ylva said aloud, purposely speaking loud enough that Jun could hear her. Without warning, she would aim her palm toward Jun's hiding spot in an attempt to freeze the space in a radius, hoping to trap Jun or, at the very least, catch and injure her enough to make it easier to catch up to her. PC New Quirk for the Event: Dark Shadow Is your quirk going up on the Free Market?: Yes [OPTIONAL] Quirk Flavor Adjustments: As Ylva does not have a random bird head her basic Dark Shadow looks like this and the 'powered up' version looks like this[OPTIONAL] Updated Quirk Description: Dark Shadow grants the user a shadowy, monster-like being from within his body that they can materialize and de-materialize at will.
Dark Shadow effectively acts like Ylva's personal guardian, functioning as a living appendage that follows all of its master's commands. It is sentient, capable of speech, and loyally protects its host, regardless of the state it finds itself in.
Dark Shadow is always connected to Ylva's body through an "umbilical cord" , even when it moves far away from him. However, Ylva does not appear to share the same physical sensations as Dark Shadow, such as pain and weakness, or vice-versa, meaning that incapacitating just one of them will not prevent the other from acting out. It is somehow able to communicate with Ylva telepathically, as well.
Dark Shadow appears to possess the ability to change shape to some extent, as it can apparently extend the length of its arms and neck if so desired. It's said to be made of "dark energy", despite being a solid entity that can interact with the material world, but said energy has a limit, and Dark Shadow will retract into Ylva's body when said limit runs out. Certain actions can make this energy drain out faster, like making Dark Shadow take too many opposing hits or having it distance itself too much from Ylva's body. To recharge Dark Shadow, Ylva needs to keep it hidden from any source of light.
Weaknesses:
Dark Shadow's personality and offensive power depend on the surrounding brightness levels. Under strong light, Dark Shadow is small in comparison to when it is engrossed by darkness.

She wouldn't be hosting something like this for the very first time as Ylva had only heard about this through another classmate who mentioned there was a third year who did spars. Regardless of whether she in the closet or not, Ylva would be ready as she observed Jun using her quirk for the first time. 'Light?' that formed into weapons and then fired at her. Pretty versatile, assuming Jun wasn't limited to just turning that light into artillery. It was a good thing to study as she wasn't particularly skilled at making more than rough constructs with her ice, but perhaps this experience would give her some insight.[break][break]
As she wasn't quick on her feet, the best option at the moment would be to defend and see how strong these cannons were. Holding out both palms, she would freeze the moisture from the ground up every few feet in front of her, resulting in what looked like dominoes made of ice.
