[break] [attr="class","nikki109"]Even in an environment satured with water Ylva's senses remained sharp. After MAWS and Dream World, she was on an even higher alert than normal. The events had proven time and time again that anything could happen at any time and the only thing she could control was her own actions. Not pulling her gaze away from the glass she could 'feel' Elias heading towards her before her eyes could even perceive him. Not that he would know this as she didn't move, barely acknowledging his presence. She had hoped to spend the day alone, but the universe had other plans.[break][break]
She would let Elias' words hang in the air for a decent amount of time. When it became apparent that he wasn't going anywhere, she answered succinctly: "No idea. He probably doesn't like people." She didn't have eyes on him. "...He's not sleeping." she added; she could feel him moving around at the bottom of the tank. Seeing firsthand how this eel was able to avoid people 99% of the time, she was feeling something new. [break][break]

[break] [attr="class","nikki109"]As the greater illusion faded, Ylva stood still taking in her new surroundings and thinking about what her next actions could be. The person named 'Ageru' had clearly been the wish master after all even if she was reluctantly brought into this by what was likely her own inexperience. As more people popped into existence around her she did note one as someone she'd seen before...oh yes the missing vigilante. He had inadvertently sent her down this path as she volunteered to take on the Wish Master.[break][break]
Approaching him as he was confused, she would show her makeshift ID from their group and receive some bandages in return. Take a minute to wrap up her bleeding hand the best she could; she winced slightly as the pain of tightening the bandages radiated through her arm. Sure, she was tougher than most, but anyone would be in pain if they got their hand sliced open. [break][break]
Assuming no one stopped her she would approach Ageru on the ground "Dark Shadow." The inky black entity would emerge from her body. "Carry her; we're going for a walk." Dark Shadow would salute and then pick up Ageru as gently as possible. As Ylva turned to leave, she saw Jun passed out, and without breaking her stride, she spoke aloud, directed at Gen, "She'll bleed out if you don't help. I've got a job to finish." with that, she pushed open the door to the building and headed back to HQ. Ultimately, this could be considered a win, which was all that mattered.[break][break]

[break] [attr="class","nikki109"]Given her recent experiences with the Dream World and MAWS Ylva was taking a school sanctioned break. In spite of Ando's complaints, she was granted what was effectively a day pass. There was a lot of rebuilding and heaviness due to the previous events which limited her excursion to just a few places, this being ultimately how she ended up at the aquarium.[break][break]
Her excursion taking place on Sea Day was a coincidence with Ylva having come to this place because she genuinely liked it, which was saying a lot given her dislike of so many things. It was peaceful and not a place she expected many to go to given the recent mutated sea life that terrorized the bay. It was perfect. She would move through the aquarium taking a moment here or there to stop at the different displays. Approaching a particular one she would place her bandaged hand, from the incident with Ageru, on the glass, looking around for the moray eel that was hidden somewhere in the tank.[break][break]

She talked so much that the taste was ruined, even with her specialty milkshake from earlier.[break][break]
So she was back in line at the same stand from before, hoping to get a refill. The first for sure yet definitely not the last. Milkshakes were her only weakness she would ever admit...to anyone who wasn't named Masao Andy. As it was her turn she spoke up before she looked up "Yes, I want one of those hokkaido speci-" she froze. This must have been some sort of sick joke. If she didn't truly love milkshakes more than anything she would have turned and walked away right then and there. Internally, she would sigh, and then break the silence. "Is this a prank?" [break] [attr="class","nikki109"]Dark Shadow's assault was met with a decent amount of resistance, and luckily it was able to overpower Ageru before it would start to shrink. No longer under the protective cover of darkness was a good thing, as it meant Dark Shadow could avoid the extra swords flying in its direct path. As a happy byproduct of this quick shrinking, it was only singed by the lightning instead of being pierced through by it.[break][break]
Ylva's eyes narrowed as she could see Ageru get back up after her assault. Yes, she and Dark Shadow had held back enough not to kill her (which was more her than it), but she ultimately hoped to at least break enough bones that Ageru wouldn't be able to fight back. Annoying, but not nearly as annoying as a certain redhead. [break][break]
The swords coming in her direction weren't as concerning as the ones flying towards her "teammates" (ugh) that were closer to their assailant, and the ones directed at her were so linear she wouldn't need much to sideste-...who turned off the lights? For a brief moment, she was swallowed in darkness and was about to tell Jun to knock it off until her eyes lit up and she could see again....just in time to watch Jun about to die. Fantastic.[break][break]
In her head, Ylva weighed the pros and cons; she could save Jun, but that in turn might let The Concocter get away, but if she didn't save her, it would mean a potential demerit on her record. "Dark Shadow. Dig in, swing, and squish, but don't break." She barked orders at the entity as it began to grow again, albeit slower due to less time spent exposed to darkness. It would dig its claws into the ground and use the 'tether' that linked the two to swing Ylva towards Jun. "Go." she'd call out mid-flight as Dark Shadow leaped forward, using its large arms to dive at and squeeze Ageru to the point of hopefully causing her to pass out. If the timing were correct on their part due to the powerup from the darkness it would make Dark Shadow the only casualty from the screw and disable Ageru at the same time.[break][break]
The downside to this makeshift plan was that she could only do so much without a surface to use for leverage, swatting away a few swords herself with a strike or two, except for one that barely made it past her and was looking to prove fatal. So, against her better judgment, as the situation required action, she would grip the blade of the sword, slicing her hand open, and with a wince, she would throw it as hard as she could away from the two of them. The resulting blood splattered Jun in the process as Ylva immediately whipped around. "Clothes to stop the bleeding. Now."[break][break]

Of course, Andy would know this definitely was not the case here, but Ylva couldn't help play that card since Ando was all about 'moral superiority', which clearly had worked out well for her so far.[break][break]
"Doesn't matter." No one's opinion did except for her family and the teachers regarding getting the correct marks. Other than that she truly didn't care and felt neutral about everyone else she'd met aside from Andy and that cat...thing. Was this payback for her being sent that thing? Absolutely. Well, 50/50. She would freeze another group of smaller creatures, moving forward at a pace that she was comfortable with. Any faster, and she risked the ice melting, and they would surely attack her all at once. "In this area, this should be the last one." She would freeze a mid-sized creature and then stomp on it, shattering it to pieces. "Since you pointed out this should be something meaningful, I'm moving on to the next area. I'll be sure to mention your "help" in my report to the school." she'd wave derisively as she continued on. After all, who could say when the next time she could cut loose like this.[break][break]

[break] [attr="class","nikki109"]The wrihting, dark mass was beginning to grow out of control. Any observers from the outside would be able to see the occasional limb flailing as Ylva struggled to keep it over control, putting her physical strength to the test by pushing it to the actual limit. Through her willpower and connection to Dark Shadow she was able to keep it at bay long enough that the entity had eclipsed her in size and strength until she couldn't any longer. [break][break] Moving herself out of the darkness, she would take in her new surroundings and quickly call out "Move." to Jun and Gen before tugging on Dark Shadow. The abomination, in its new monstrous form, would rocket forward long arms of coalesced shadow, pulling it across the arena at surprising speed. The incoming swords that weren't able to be swatted away would pierce its body, yet it wouldn't phase it in the least. It had one goal, to rampage as much as it could until it ran out of juice and 'The Concocter' was in its sights.[break][break] From behind Dark Shadow stood Ylva, bruised from her brief skirmish but otherwise okay, and she tugged on the inky black tether that linked the two. She would do her best to guide it away from Jun and Gen and assuming they managed to avoid it Dark Shadow would slam down on The Concocter with just enough force to not outright kill them. She heard the plan and as long as Jun was able to conjure a sphere of darkness the rest didn't matter. The Concoter would need to be brought in and that would mean she would need to be brought down first. This wasn't something she felt would be difficult as a few days prior she had discovered the true essence of Dark Shaodw. She had been roaming at night taking down criminals when one of them was able to blackout the area. Ylva couldn't see but when her vision returned Dark Shadow has massacred her assailants and was easily 10x its normal size. If she could replicate that there wasn't much that could stand in her way.[break][break]
To maximize the impact of the illusion, which Ylva was still affected by as she didn't know its true nature, she had to summon Dark Shadow in this darkness and attempt to keep it under control. She could feel Dark Shadow gaining more power as she used her own body in an attempt to keep it at bay. She would use all her strength to keep it from rampaging, essentially charging it up to eventually unleash a single attack with all the power they both had.[break][break]

She would pause for a moment looking down to see if there was any sign of where this path led and when it was made clear that it extended much much farther than her eyes could tell she would just take a step forward and continue on her path. The darkness from her blackout had already begun to power up Dark Shadow, and her merged form was already starting to reflect this. She was leading the group down into the darkness, and if Jun and Gen were paying attention, they would see the inky black shadows attached to Ylva begin to grow in size slowly over time. Knowing from experience what this meant, she would pull Dark Shadow back, stripping herself of the makeshift armor and returning to her baseline. Just in time for Jun to start talking about a plan in case...no when they had to fight. [break][break]
You couldn't tell at a glance, but Ylva was actually paying attention. Well, she was until Jun expressed concerns that she wouldn't be able to beat The Concocter in a battle of attrition. "Nah, I'd win." she'd utter as they were starting to reach the bottom of this incredibly long set of stairs. Assuming Jun, like always, wasn't satisfied with her answer, she'd elaborate with what, in her eyes, was a much better plan. "With his quirk, you can make darkness, correct? If you two distract her I'll end this in one blow. That darkness around me once we're down there, and don't break it no matter what you hear." She'd turned her head slightly so Jun could see her eyes and know she was serious. "Got it?" [break][break]
Once they entered this new space, which was much larger than one would expect and likely meant another one of The Concocter's tricks, Ylva would step to the side and let the other two take point. A simple nod to Jun to let her know that she was ready, and once they were submerged in darkness, she would do her best to keep Dark Shadow under control until its power was raised to the maximum limit. With her extra strength wearing off it took her a little longer than expected, but this in turn gave her an opportunity to look around. With a raised eyebrow she was immediately thrown off with how normal this space looked, heck it looked like a lived-in apartment, not something she would expect given what she knew about The Concocter. "Thoughts?" She would gesture to Dark Shadow as it poked its head out of her shoulder, contemplating the question for a moment before it would reach into Ylva's pocket and pull out her cell phone. "Good call." knowing almost instinctively what it meant she would take the time to snap some pictures of the space. Sure, they may not need them later but it was better to have them just in case. She would bend down to pick up one of the ramblings, squinting as she couldn't decipher what the author...or insane person was trying to get at. She would ball up the note and throw it in the pile, her attention focused on the power source. If there was one thing she learned this last week, it was that Dark Shadow was quite literal with its name. More darkness meant more power, and with what they were dealing with so far, she justified it to herself that it was a necessary measure. Jun could take care or herself and the other guy too, out of the two of them she was definitely the more competent one and it wasn't even close.[break][break] Ylva may not have been an electrician, but she knew the basics. She would trace her finger from the switches up towards the ceiling until she couldn't reach any higher. If her hunch was correct, pulling out and crossing the wires would at least knock out the power in this building area. "Partner? I know it's going to hurt, but bear with me." Dark Shadow would emerge from her back and punch a hole in the wiring, ripping them out and wincing from the sparks flying. It may not have a bright light source, but it was enough to cause some irritation. "Go for it." She'd gestured towards the wires as Dark Shadow turned them in on themselves, a large spark causing it to recoil and retreat back inside Ylva. If she had done this right, the power in the area would go out, but regardless, she'd done what she could.[break][break] She would turn back to the hole she made, and only because Jun asked, she would grab the balled-up paper she had thrown before and take it with her. The door being the only path forward made her choice very easy, and she'd jumped down from the second floor, her Battle Suit absorbing the impact of her fall, which was a bit harder due to the extra gravity. She would head toward the door, tossing the paper to Jun. "This." Once she got close, she would look it up and down, mentally noting how abnormal it was compared to everything else. She'd turn halfway and point to Gen's find. "Whoever owns those lives up there." She'd place a hand on the door and push it to see if anything was triggered. "I'm going ahead. You two should stick together; no one knows what would happen to your original quirk if the person who has it dies." She didn't outright say it, but having dealt with Jun's quirk firsthand, it was clear that Gen was using it. In her mind, whoever had Dark Shadow originally would be the person who had her quirk, at least until it was proven otherwise. Assuming there wasn't anything stopping her, she would don and equip Dark Shadow herself, wearing it like a suit of armor or an exoskeleton. Reeling back, they would use their combined strength to smash through the door and enter the new space. [break] [attr="class","nikki109"]Extending the range of her quirk took time which was entirely the reason for the ice walls. If Jun was as good as she expected her to be, as an upperclassman, she would probably expect something like this. That, however, was the trick. If Jun retreated, Ylva's influence would earn her a decisive victory, and if she pushed ahead, then it meant taking the brunt of her attack. Had this not been a training exercise Ylva would have frozen her to her core, but instead, she aimed just a little bit lower. [break][break]
Opening her eyes, she would see what Jun was up to, and given her aversion for spikes, she would guess that this was either a deterrent or something to subdue her. A large cannon, huh? Interesting. As Ylva's energy finally reached the endpoint, she would release her hold as the shell flew at her. The energy would swell as every inch of the surrounding area would flash freeze with ice. Jun would be coated in layers and layers of ice from the neck down, with multiple waves stacking on each other. The cannon shot hit its mark, and the resulting explosion would send her rocketing into some debris, causing some metal to fall on her, effectively rendering her unable to fight, but ultimately only mildly injured. Once the dust settled Ylva would speak "A draw." [break][break]

It became clear rather quickly that she didn't have as much control over it as she liked as the flashes of lighting caused Ylva to squint in order to get her bearings. Between the mist and all the chaos she could feel her irritation building, which resulted in a wicked idea. [break][break]
As if Jun was able to read her mind or, more importantly, read the room, she stopped whatever 'magic' she was doing, which let her relax a bit as she pulled her hands away from her ears and pulled back on Dark Shadow, who stopped its assault and turned back towards Ylva now much smaller as the darkness in the room had returned to normal. [break][break]
"I suggest regrouping with the other person. Teams of 2 are easier to work with, and I've already got a partner. Dark Shadow?" she would take an inhale, inadvertently taking in some extra power from the ambient mist in the process. Dark Shadow would take this opportunity to combine its own arm with Ylva's and then, as directed, punched upwards through the ceiling and pulled Ylva up with it to the next floor. Opting not to warn Jun what she was going to do, mostly because she had a good idea of what she was capable off and really didn't think it was necessary. Besides there were more important things at hand as she didn't chose to exit the battle randomly, she was searching for a win condition-a line to cut the power in the building.[break][break]

She didn't like taking orders from anyone who wasn't a part of her family...and she didn't even really like that deep down, but that was a much deeper rooted problem for another day. Still, as of now technically Jun's goals aligned with her own she was here to take down the operation and bring in The Concocter, not kill her. Her shoulders would slightly slump as she gave the order to Dark Shadow, "Don't kill them, just disable," and a spindly arm would return a thumbs up as it continued to swat away many of these...things. Felt wrong to call them people.[break][break]
With her focus on the crowd, she didn't notice Jun's approach until she was already pulled away. Without her original quirk, her spatial awareness had plummeted, but she was able to compensate slightly, with Dark Shadow being mostly autonomous. The timing of this made it easier for Ylva to block out the sound that Jun was producing as it was very grating on the ears. "Turn. Off. The music." Dark Shadow would spin around and rush to assist its partner, standing over Jun, ready to strike IF she didn't release the illusion. [break][break]
After Jun explained her reasoning, Ylva would follow suit with a much more succint explanation: "The Concoter needs to go down. Don't care how." In the meantime Dark Shadow would retreat slightly into her body, only its head and neck remaining exposed. The gravity increase made Ylva brace herself, but it wasn't enough to bring her down yet. She would follow suit with Jun swinging at the people to break through and clear a path with Dark Shadow doing most of the heavy lifting by bringing out its arms and sweeping through the group like a bulldozer.[break][break]

For Ylva this was all just a test to see if there was any distance between the two of them when it came to combat. For the most part they were exchanging pretty equal blows and Ylva genuinely believed that Jun was pulling her punches, the spiked boot was her attempt to get her to go all out.
