The rattle of the train as it traveled into the city had become comforting for Anya. She was closer to the outskirts of Tokyo, so when it came to taking on patrols in the busier areas, it meant a ride on the underground train system. She'd lean back in her seat, her travel bag pushed under the seat and continue clicking through her phone messages. She was doing a little bit of preparation on the partner she had been assigned - Akira Yumano. A pretty new Pro Hero which was saying something given that she was considered new by the others she worked with. As for why she was so intent on getting some info ahead of time it was two-fold. For one, she wanted to see his record to ensure he didn't have any villainous tendencies and also something noteworthy that she could use for small talk. More often than not, these patrols didn't involve any action, so why not get to know another person in the industry just slightly better?[break][break] Once she reached the stop closest to the rendevous in Akihabara, she would reach down and swing her bag over her shoulder and make her way out of the station. Once she reached the spot, she would hit the ping function on her phone to alert Akira, through the network, that she had arrived, and she'd follow that up by getting her gear ready. [break][break]

His father was murdered by a criminal named Asai Madoka, who had a quirk that allowed him to fire sharp bullet like projectiles from his palms. That plagued Akira for a long time but ever since Akira brought him to justice, his life has been on the up. He got married to the woman of his dreams and now he was a father. He loved being a dad especially since his daughter was a daddy’s girl. [break][break] Aside from being a dad, Akira loved his job as a hero. As BoomBurst, he set out to make others smile while he simultaneously made the world a better place. Even though he didn’t have to, he took a year off from it, he still found every experience just as thrilling as before. [break][break] Akira made sure he had his gear on him. He was lucky enough to have his new suit be nano-tech. It was going to be kind of crazy trying out new gear on his first official day back. In the past, his suit’s make up was metallic. Luckily, storage for it was good since it retracted into bracelets. As for his Burst saber, it was the same as ever; hung on a clip on his hip. [break][break] Today, the young hero was going to be paired up with another. He had no problem with that as he loved working with others. Heck, aside from work, he loved meeting new people and learning about them. Having a vast network was always a good thing. Anya Nigiri was her name. He didn’t have much info on her. Guess he had to leave it all to their interaction. [break][break] Since he learned how to fly and could legally do so, he hardly caught the train. The last time he did it was for a heroic mission he was on but that wasn’t a sightseeing kind of ride. Today would be different though. He boarded the train from the heart of Tokyo to Akihabara. When the train pulled in, he got out and took a seat to wait on his partner for the day. Not long after, he received a ping on his device which meant she was around. [break][break] Akira scanned the area for Anya, finding her soon after. She was quite tall, shorter than him but taller than the average woman. She was much taller than his wife, that’s for sure. She genuinely enjoyed meeting new people, and ever since gaining her hero license, she'd been interested in making new connections. In her experience, a lot of Pro Heroes ended up partnered or frequently working with others who also attended hero schools, and for Anya, this wasn't an option. She came into this job knowing no one and was almost always willing to team up with others when the opportunity presented itself. [break][break] "Hello!" She would reciprocate the handshake eagerly. "Nice to meet you. Do you prefer your first name or hero name? I don't mind either, so whatever you're comfortable with." She would bend down and place her bag on the ground, removing her sword, which had its hilt wrapped in cloth. Even with her hero license allowing her to carry the weapon legally, she generally didn't like to have it exposed unless she was actively going on patrol. Part of the exam to get her license emphasized that keeping civilians at ease was a BIG part of the job. While he didn’t mind doing the battling part of his job, he didn’t like it when others were in danger. He was thankful that he and the other members of the family were able to fend off the threat and there were no complications with the pregnancy. Too often did she run into people in this line of work who neglected the social part of their profession. Heroes were not only supposed to be effective, but they needed to make the people they were protecting feel at ease, and honestly, what better way than being approachable? "Always great to meet others who don't mind being a little less formal." She would adjust the strap to the sheath of her blade, opting to make it more comfortable in case she needed to hustle. It was not entirely unlikely, seeing as this was a patrol route, but she hoped it would be a rather uneventful day. [break][break] "We'll say the same for me then! He blasted off towards the liquified robber and fired a concentrated blast of Burst Energy with the intent of freezing the water based person. ”Smoothbore Cryo-Shot! The liquified robber was caught off guard since naturally most things passed through him without him being in danger. However, what he didn’t account for was this energy blast being cold enough to not only affect him but put him on ice. He was frozen solid.

That said, the most important thing was making sure the civilians were safe first and foremost. Once they were, it was all free game.
