Yes, getting a cat out of a tree was just as important as fighting off villains but no one ever said they’d wanna spend their whole day taking cats from trees. That said, the most important thing was making sure the civilians were safe first and foremost. Once they were, it was all free game. [break][break] At the sight of the villains, Akira suited up and called dibs on the hydro-liquefied man. After quickly taking care of the liquified threat, he turned to see Anya using her quirk. Wow, she got big. Kind of reminded him of his mentor back in the day. Poor Rhino guy was in for it. Akira smirked as he watched the big guy get slammed down. [break][break] ”Impressive. Practical and effective too.” He walked back over and nodded. The wait for the cops was not as long as Akira had anticipated but once they had secured the villains, it was back to patrol. [break][break] ”So… Do you have any stories about how your quirk manifested? Were you scared or did you expect to have a quirk similar to your folks?” He asked. It was a fair question too since he knew someone who burned down their house when their quirk manifested.

They shared their sides of how they got into heroics and she went a different route which he found cool. ”About a good 75 to 80% go the school route, maybe even higher, right?” He pointed out. She made a valid point about it being interesting when you met someone who went a different route and he nodded. ”Sounds about right. Well, either way, to me, it’s commendable and as long as you did a great job, then that was all that mattered.”[break][break] Their conversation had been put on pause for Akira to get a balloon that was floating away. Once it was returned to the kid, he asked Anya about her quirk. She referred to it as not as convenient but she’d show him it if they ran into trouble. She didn’t think they would due to how chill their patrol was but before she could even get the full statement out an alarm went off. [break][break] Akira pressed a button on his bracelet and nanotech deployed and covered him. With his hero suit on, he turned his attention to the bank where the alarm was coming from. ”Let’s go to work.” He said in a sort of fun way. Sure it was fun but he was totally focused. ”I’ll take care of hydro-boy over here if you don’t mind. It won’t take long.” [break][break] His entire body started glowing and the area immediately around him got cooler. He blasted off towards the liquified robber and fired a concentrated blast of Burst Energy with the intent of freezing the water based person. ”Smoothbore Cryo-Shot! The liquified robber was caught off guard since naturally most things passed through him without him being in danger. However, what he didn’t account for was this energy blast being cold enough to not only affect him but put him on ice. He was frozen solid.

He had to admit, if he didn’t have a mentor like the one who helped him through his quirk training, he probably wouldn’t be as laid back as he was. She was the worst when it came to formality and that rubbed off on him, not to the extreme like her but enough that sometimes he would forget to use honorifics when addressing people who had such things. ”You have my old teacher and mentor to thank for that. She told our class to call her by her first name which is weird when you’re in high school. Overall, she taught us that we are people just like everyone else and having a quirk that allows us to be heroes is not an excuse to let it go to our heads. Really sound advice, if you asked me.” The young male watched his partner adjust her sword before they started to head out. [break][break] When Akira asked her what she’d want to be referred to as, she too didn’t mind him using her name. She had a dialect which was fine. She didn’t have to correct her speech with him. The cool thing about speaking was everyone was unique and if he needed help understanding something she said, he’d ask. He chuckled when she said that her accent comes out when she gets chatty. It was good to know that he wasn’t the only one who could become so invested in conversation that the guard is dropped. ”It’s fine, Anya. No need to correct your speech with me. It makes you sound cooler than just being like everyone else.” He smiled. [break][break] She answered his guessing by letting him know that the reason he hadn’t heard of her was due to her not being from the city. That and the fact that she went the civi route in acquiring her hero license. ”That’s pretty cool if you asked me. Not going through the school route and still being dedicated enough to push for a hero license is something that many people don’t do. How has that experience been?”[break][break] The conversation shifted to him. He smiled when she asked about his story. He smiled even bigger when she stopped him from talking to help an old woman cross the street. When she returned, he shook his head. ”No problem at all. Helping everyone is a part of the job.” He pointed out. ”As for me, I came to Japan when I was young and ended up going to UA. It was there I met my wife and together we both became heroes. Being a hero hasn’t been easy but we were able to make a difference in other people’s lives. Then, we became parents so we took a step back and focused on raising our little girl for a year before we both got back out here.” [break][break] As they continued walking, there was a child crying because they had lost their grip on a balloon and it was floating away out of reach. ”One second.” Akira started glowing as blue energy coated his body. He started floating towards the retreating balloon, getting it before landing and handing it back to the child. ”Everything is alright. Here’s your balloon back. Make sure to hold onto it really tight.” He turned to Anya before walking again. ”So, what can you do with your quirk?”

She told him that it was nice to meet him and asked what he preferred to be called. ”I don’t mind if you want to call me by my first name or hero name. Maybe more so first name while we aren’t doing hero stuff since that encourages friendships and familiarity.” He watched her place her bag down. [break][break] ”What about you? Do you prefer I call you by your name or do you have another name you’d like to be referred to as?” He leaned up against the wall, waiting for her to answer the question. He figured it would be the same thing for him as he told her. ”And if you do have something else to be referred to as, would you like me to call you that while we are working?”[break][break] When she asked if he was ready to go, he nodded. ”Yeah, we can get going.” He smiled at the sentiment of having no trouble that day. While he didn’t mind doing the battling part of his job, he didn’t like it when others were in danger. He could still recall the fear he had when his family was in danger while his wife was just about ready to give birth to Amira. He was thankful that he and the other members of the family were able to fend off the threat and there were no complications with the pregnancy. His father was murdered by a criminal named Asai Madoka, who had a quirk that allowed him to fire sharp bullet like projectiles from his palms. That plagued Akira for a long time but ever since Akira brought him to justice, his life has been on the up. He got married to the woman of his dreams and now he was a father. He loved being a dad especially since his daughter was a daddy’s girl. [break][break] Aside from being a dad, Akira loved his job as a hero. As BoomBurst, he set out to make others smile while he simultaneously made the world a better place. Even though he didn’t have to, he took a year off from it, he still found every experience just as thrilling as before. [break][break] Akira made sure he had his gear on him. He was lucky enough to have his new suit be nano-tech. It was going to be kind of crazy trying out new gear on his first official day back. In the past, his suit’s make up was metallic. Luckily, storage for it was good since it retracted into bracelets. As for his Burst saber, it was the same as ever; hung on a clip on his hip. [break][break] Today, the young hero was going to be paired up with another. He had no problem with that as he loved working with others. Heck, aside from work, he loved meeting new people and learning about them. Having a vast network was always a good thing. Anya Nigiri was her name. He didn’t have much info on her. Guess he had to leave it all to their interaction. [break][break] Since he learned how to fly and could legally do so, he hardly caught the train. The last time he did it was for a heroic mission he was on but that wasn’t a sightseeing kind of ride. Today would be different though. He boarded the train from the heart of Tokyo to Akihabara. When the train pulled in, he got out and took a seat to wait on his partner for the day. Not long after, he received a ping on his device which meant she was around. [break][break] Akira scanned the area for Anya, finding her soon after. She was quite tall, shorter than him but taller than the average woman. She was much taller than his wife, that’s for sure. His usual stance shows that he is confident in himself. [attr="class","body"] [attr="class","header2"]HISTORY Akira Yumano was born during the winter to Aiko and Kaiza Yumano. He grew up admiring heroes along with all of his peers and as he got older he learned more about quirks and how they work. At the age of 4, his quirk Burst activated but with no knowledge or prior training on controlling it, he nearly destroyed his room. Luckily for him, his quirk was a fusion of his father's explosion quirk and his mother's frost lightning quirk. They helped him be in control and safely learn how to manage the quirk he had. Even at times where he was afraid due to his cold energy seeping out and freezing the things around him, they were there to help him and that was something that made him motivated to master this, if not for himself then for them. Over the years, Akira trained really hard with his goal to become a hero. He eventually went to UA and enjoyed most of his first year there until he got some bad news. On the day before his birthday that year, his father was murdered. All Akira was told was his father died saving a woman while he was out buying things for the birthday. That event shaped Akira and he blamed himself for the death since he was actually supposed to head home but wanted to finish up on training before leaving. In the next two years, he met Crys and while they had a rocky start, they both formed a relationship and became pro-heroes together. During their early Pro-Hero days, they were able to accomplish many things together and one evening they got the call that Akira had been waiting years for. The two of them managed to bring his father's killer, Asai Madoka, to justice. After that, they got married and started a life together. It is made of nano-tech. While his quirk is in use, parts of the suit glows, with the brightness being linked to the output of Burst Energy being used. The suit is deployable from a high tech bracelet and can be worn with or without the helmet. The Burst Saber has a crystal which serves as a conduit for Burst Energy. The blade can be used as a melee weapon to cut through items, pierce objects and parry other weapons or it could be used to release an energy wave slash. Whilst in areas of low light, the glowing blade could function as a convenient light source. By activating his quirk while holding the hilt, he can activate the blade and deactivate it at any time. It can only be used by someone with the Burst quirk. It has a belt ring that allows it to attach to a belt by attachable clip. The difference with Plasmatic Burst is that instead of producing heat, the energy produced is cold. This element courses through the user's veins and bloodstream, granting them the ability to summon and control this versatile energy at will. The energy, when produced, is shot out as beams or orbs which is capable of freezing the target or pushing it back through sheer force. Unlike other quirks that might cause harm to the user, PB ensures that the individual is not adversely affected by the use of this energy. By pushing the energy to their feet, the user can propel themselves into the air and slow their descent. QUIRK DRAWBACKS: The activation of Plasmatic Burst causes the user to emit a bright glow, making them highly visible in the dark or in situations where stealth is crucial. This not only compromises their ability to surprise opponents but also makes them an easy target for those who can exploit their visibility. In stealth-based missions or situations requiring subtlety, the user must be cautious about revealing their location. The destructive nature of PB poses a risk of collateral damage to the user's surroundings and allies. Care must be taken to avoid unintentionally harming teammates or causing unnecessary destruction in the vicinity.
