''...We need to evacuate that?'' She stopped in front of a multistory building in the USJ, having to crane her neck up just so she could see the top. Either they had got the wrong building, or the teachers were seriously thinking her and Michael were somehow a collective thirty people in two costumes. She was immediately feeling pessimistic about the whole thing and doubting her own abilities. Her quirk didn't help her go fast, or fly. If anything she was at a blatant disadvantage here. She might even have given up early, had she not been paired with Michael. ''What do you think? I haven't done an emergency evacuation drill before.'' She looked over at her friend expectantly. If anyone believed they could do it, it was him. She opened her umbrella as she felt the rain cloud forming. Oh well, even if they failed, failing alongside Michael would be a whole lot more fun than failing alone. ''Sensei told us there'd be people in the building, but we're not allowed to know how many, just that we need to be prepared to act once disaster strikes.'' And judging from how barren and quiet their surroundings were, it would appear that disaster had yet to strike. ''If I'm gonna be honest, I never saw myself as a rescue hero. 'Oniki the Rescue Hero'? I don't see it, people would run away screaming.'' She said it with a smirk. That was the fate of someone stuck with her quirk. At least Michael could totally make it work because of his energy and personality. Samaritan

Building Teamwork
Michael once again resigned to wearing his gym gear. Having developed a growing bond with Yoko and comfortability with a hero name was one thing but he still had no idea what to do for a uniform or any gadgetry that would help him better. He had focused on honing his physical prowess and capabilities with his quirk and hoped ideas beyond gear that was as flexible and pliable as he is would come to him over time. It was times like this thay Michael wish that he had something to help give him assistance with the task at hand.
The building looked to be an apartment complex and had at least 6 floors and who knew how many rooms. There were twin fire escapes up both sides and likely two stairwells inside to accommodate the tenants. Michael was always quick to help people but a full on emergency evacuation; that meant they couldn’t just rely on people being able to get out on their own, they’d have to go in and personally extract every single person.
“Yeah, it’s not gonna be easy but we’ll stick together and get through this no matter what challenges they throw our way.”
Michae wasn’t sure what their quirks would be able to do through most of this, but he was confident that they’d figure it out.
“Even if you never saw yourself as a rescue hero, these people will need our help and who knows, maybe some quick rain could be used to snuff out a fire or your strength to punch down a door. I believe in you Oniki! We can do this!” Michael beamed excitedly.
Notes Tags: Yanai Yoko TLDR: Michael wished he had gear that could help with a challenge like this, but he trusted Yoko and him would handle anything that came their way if they worked together.

Alongside Michael, the two of them were team gym gear... Maybe not the best hero duo name, but they had time to workshop that. The point was she also didn't really have her hero costume ready to go, but how could anyone expect them to? They were both first years after all. So, gym gear for the first evacuation and disaster type exercise it was. At least they were in it together. ''Damn right. We didn't get this far to fail.'' A bit of a weird statement for a fresh first year student to make, but to her it truly did feel like she had come much further than her first week at school. Now that she was beginning to take this hero thing a little more seriously, why would she want to fail on purpose? Besides, Michael had a dream that she had promised to help him accomplish, that meant she needed to make him look his absolute best during this training exercise. The teachers better be crying happy tears at the end of this thing. ''That's not a bad idea.'' She looked up at her rain cloud and gestured with her arm, as if she was trying and failing to move it forward. ''If only I could control where it rained and how much it rains.'' Perhaps the worst part was that her arms were too short to reach it, so she didn't even know if she could grab it, or her hands would just go right through. ''Well, whatever. Let's get this thing started.'' She motioned for him to follow her into the building. ''You better give it your all, Samaritan-kun.'' Her own personal way of saying she believed in him too, as roundabout as it was. Once inside the building looked... Just like any other building. If it wasn't for the empty street outside, Yoko would have thought they just walked right into a little slice of Tokyo itself. ''Up or down?'' She talked in a hushed voice, pointing up to indicate that maybe they should start heading up while they still had the chance. Before disaster struck. Unfortunately, the hero students didn't have long as suddenly, the building was hit by its first shake, startling Yoko as well as all the would-be civilians in need of rescuing. Samaritan

Michael Faraday
Floating a Plan
Michael knew that Yoko had a hard time controlling her quirk, especially with it being so significantly influenced by her emotions. Still he wanted to be able to put a bright spin on any situation. So if her rain began to pour she would be able to see its advantages rather than feeling like she couldn't remain composed. Michael wanted her to be able to see how amazing she was, like he saw her. She seemed pretty pumped for the exercise, so it got him all the more fired up.
"Let's start up high and head down. I can float us up to the top floors. After I clear a few of the civilians, I'll float them back to the ground and become a crash pad so you can toss out the rest. We'll keep going that way until we hit an obstacle." Michael suggested. With this plan it would depend a lot of Yoko being fast and efficient clear the civilians from each floor and tossing them down to Michael. This also allowed him to then keep track of how the outside of the building seemed to be holding up against any challenges or new problems. That way he could get up to whatever floor she was on to help as needed.
The plan was simple enough to call an audible as needed and it gave Yoko the opportunity to be in control of the situation as Michael worked as support and catch. Unless she stated otherwise, Michael gripped onto his short friend, scooping under her arms as he inflated himself like a weather balloon. Swelling his body full of helium wouldn't be much of a struggle as it was just to float them to the top floor and with her size it didn't add much of a weight issue.
Michael floated them up quickly to the top of the building near the top of the fire escape of that side. Before expelling the air from his body, he lightly tossed Yoko onto the fire escape catwalk. Michael let the air out with a quick burst on his back, propelling his fall towards the fire escape. Catching himself on the railing of the floor just below Yoko, Michael pulled himself over and broke his way into the building with an inflated punch to the window. He'd need to be careful to avoid being scratched or punctured by the glass as that would definitely make their mission harder as it would severely dampen his abilities until he patched it.
Michael climbed through the opening carefully and began rushing through the floor of the building to find and gather any civilians he could find.
Notes & Tags: Yanai Yoko TLDR: Michael suggested a plan of action for the evacuation. Depending on if Yoko agreed, Michael would float them to the top floor and after dropping off Yoko would go to the next floor down. He would break in and start gathering civilians towards the escape and then take a few down to the ground to be ready to catch others that Yoko would through to him like a giant air bag.

She was surprised he had thought of a plan so quickly. Sure, he was Michael, but to have thought up a solution just like that? Were they sure he didn’t possess a dual quirk that involved super optimism? “I’m fine with that, it plays to my strengths.” Except for dealing with civilians, but she would have to suck it up and take it as a learning experience. However, it wasn’t herself she was worrying about, and it wasn’t her own well-being that made her second guess his plan. “Can you handle that? I know your body is rubber and all, but we’re talking actual people being tossed from up high.” She pointed a finger at him. “You better not be taking any unnecessary risks.” Not on her watch, that was her job as Oniki. Her face remained completely stoic and grumpy as he picked her up like a disgruntled long cat. “Do you fly a lot usually? Must be nice for getting around.” She looked down, unbothered by the ground getting further away as they climbed up the side of the building. It beat using the stairs any day. “Nice throw.” She grumbled as she dusted herself off on the fire escape, ready but not exactly eager to join the chaos inside. “Right, let’s do this thing.” She glared at the nearest window, activating her quirk before kicking it in. “ALL RIGHT LISTEN UP I’M GONNA NEED EVERYONE TO CALM DOWN!” She shouted over the rumblings, only realizing she could look like the villain behind said rumbling once she saw their frightened faces. “I’m Oniki uh, a hero or whatever, the heroes are here to save you.” The reluctant civilians followed her lead and rounding up as many as she could, she shouted out to Michael once she had the perfect spot to throw from. “All good here, Samaritan!” Samaritan

Michael Faraday
Ready and Bloated
Michael ran along his designated floor. He would knock loudly before breaking the door in with an inflated punch right near the handle. “I’m sorry for the intrusion but we need to go now!” He would shout upon entry. Even in an emergency, he couldn’t help but try to be courteous. He moved quickly to try to clear open paths for people to get out of their apartments as quickly and smoothly as possible. “My name is Samaritan! We’re here to rescue you!”
Michael couldn’t really afford to do much more at the moment than clear paths for people to help themselves through as he needed to get in place for Oniki to start tossing down people from her floor. Once that floor was cleared she’d be able to move down to this one and begin evacuation. “Get all people and pets into the hall and line up near the window. My partner will be down shortly to assist all of you out. Things can be replaced, lives can’t!” He was shout out over and again so that no one would attempt to be trying to salvage any of their belongings.
Michael knew he couldn’t take many down with him when he would jump out to get in position. Michael picked out a group of older people and younger children that might not be able to make the drop as easily as the others. “Now everyone remain calm! I’m going to take a first group down with and when my partner arrives they will send down the rest of you. You will need to be brave when you exit the window but I WILL catch you, I promise! You can trust my partner, she’s going to take good care of you, but you need to tell her if any of you need special help or if you know of anyone that is struggling to get out!” Michael scooped up his group, wrapping his arms gently around them, coiling them a few times to assure they were bound safely. He then moved them toward the opening.
“Alright everyone! Here we go!” Michael said cheerfully to keep them calm as he leapt from the window. He immediately inflated himself, filling his body to spread with helium gas as he floated them down to the ground slowly. Once they touched down, Michael released them and told them to stand as far back from the building as possible and to guide others to them when they were rescued.
Michael moved a bit closer back towards the building and lined himself up with the upper windows. He lied down and instantly blew himself up. He went all out to not only inflating himself more than he ever had but he also was stretching out his skin so that he was more akin to an airbag than a balloon. He needed to be able to have people land safely on him and not bounce off. He waved his arms as much as possible to signal up Oniki he was ready. He waved continuously until the first evacuee dropped. He was set that after they were caught and cleared, he would then wave again to signal the next.
Notes & Tags: Yanai Yoko TLDR: Michael opened all of the apartments and cleared paths for people to evacuate towards the window to wait for Oniki. When she got them out she could assure the floor was clear before they moved on. Michael took a handful of older, younger and weaker people and floated them down before inflating himself into a big crash mat for Oniki to drop the other evacuees.

This was all so much more hectic than the movies portrayed it. Not only did it feel like this whole place was coming down, but there were all these civilians they had to wrangle, and on top of that she had to make sure that her partner Samaritan was safe too. Not that she put too much stock in that, she knew he was a tough one and could take care of himself. Still, it was in her nature as Oniki to worry about him. Someone like him, with the biggest smile and all the best intentions in the world, if no one helped them along their way they would also be some of the first to self-destruct. Michael was the time of guy who could probably work until he passed out, and while that was great on its own, it was also dangerous and stupid. ''I don't want any objections from any of you! If you slow us down for even just a second I'll personally beat the shit out of you once we're out of this building, got that?!'' She crossed her arms, tapping fully into her thug side to get the civilians on her floor to cooperate. It wasn't ideal, especially not for a hero, but she knew she had something to work on when it came to communicating with others, especially a crowd of people. She didn't even know what being a hero was like, so how was she supposed to know how to act? Not everyone could do it as effortlessly as Michael made it seem. She grinned when Michael blew himself up. ''That's our signal! Get ready, we're gonna do this fast! Samaritan, here's the first one now!'' She wasn't gentle with them, but she was effective and thanks to Michael making himself so big he had given her an easy target to aim for, ensuring that the civilians made it down safe. However, in the back of her mind she couldn't help but worry for him. Was he keeping himself safe too? Wasn't this a bit much for him and his quirk? Samaritan

Michael Faraday
Ready and Bloated
Michael grunted out from the impact of the first evacuee landing on his inflated body. Being stretched out so much like this with gas had made the blunt force of people more dynamic than he normally felt from this kind of impact. To not bounce the people off of him when they hit, he had to allow for the gas inside him to be rapidly displaced to absorb their drop and disperse the energy to avoid them getting hurt. In doing so, Michael felt all of that instead. The first handful of people wasn't much but after about a dozen full body people slamming into him from a few floors up it was wearing him down.
But Michael couldn't give up, he had to endure every heavy impact that had to distort his inflated body. At least until Yoko had cleared those two floors. He had been training as hard as possible at UAU to do just this. Not be a crash pad per se, but to push himself past his limits in order to help people. And with Yoko as his partner, he felt all the more motivated to endure. She was so strong, even if she didn't seem to believe it herself. To push through all the emotions and fear that she had to strive to be a great hero... how could he not be inspired by her?
Keeping the mask of confidence was not only important for him, but he had to keep it for the comfort of the people they were rescuing. They had to be heroes and heroes shouldered all that pain and worry so that the people in real danger didn't need to. They were being trained to not only keep people safe but make them feel safe. Yoko was great at projecting that confidence with a fiery passion, particularly while in her Oniki persona. It made Michael strive all the harder to be strong while he was Samaritan.
Michael toughed it out and waited for Oniki to signal that the top two floors were clear.

Even with her improved physique, she was finding that getting so many people out of the building was tough work and all that labor was starting to add up, her arms burning a little more with each person she helped out the window. She was straining her voice too, giving orders and wrangling all the scared civilians. Through labored breath she looked around after letting one more person out. ''Anyone else?'' She called out, making sure to look one extra time to make sure she hadn't missed anyone, but swiftly moved on once the building shook again. ''Two floors... All clear!'' She panted, shouting at the window at Samaritan while flashing a thumbs up. ''Fucking hell...'' She leaned on the wall, taking a moment to catch her breath only to look up and see one more civilian. She couldn't let them see her like this. If the heroes that were supposed to save everyone looked scared and weak, then how would that feel as a helpless civilian? ''Wait! There's one more!'' She came back over to the window and waited for Michael to be in position, or to notice her before letting go. ''...That should do it.'' She was starting to miss her bed more and more. The comfort of getting rest, cuddling up next to her recently rescued cat, Bastet. Maybe she should invite Michael over to her room sometime, cook some food and reunite him with the kitten he helped save. Samaritan

Moving on to Phase 2
With the supposedly last person sent out the window for him to catch, Michael finally let out all the gas expanding his body. He wiggled loosely from the expulsion of air leaving him before painfully snapping back together. Being stretched out so significantly, for such an extended period, with person after person landing on him was quite the undertaking. His arms felt like wet cloths and his legs struggled to keep him standing. This was quite the exercise and might benefit him to practice more in the future to help build up his stamina, durability and flexibility. However he couldn't stop yet, they still had the rest of the building to clear.
It was at that moment that Michael noticed that Yoko was flagging him down, apparently there was still another evacuee left. It would have been possibly unbearable if Michael tried to inflate back out to full size again, his skin crawled in a painful shutter at just the thought. But this actually could be used to their benefit. Michael and Yoko had to meet back up to go over the next part of their rescue plan now that the top levels had been cleared. Michael would need a little more time before inflating himself back up at all, so he took a more rubber focused approach.
Michael began rushing towards the building, bounding and generating a striding bounce to spring himself up the side of the structure. Bouncing off the railing of the fire escape, Michael launched himself up to the window where Yoko and the last evacuee of that floor waited. "Don't worry, we've got you." Michael said brightly and comfortingly to the civilian as he lifted them onto his back.
"What's the plan now Oniki?" Michael asked his partner, trying to gauge what she thought. She had cleared those two floors so she would have better idea of how structurally sound the building felt and the general vibe of the evacuees. They had cleared the two hardest levels to get out, so from here things would continue to be dangerous and time was of the utmost concern, but they would have a little more leeway being closer to the ground.
Notes & Tags: Yanai Yoko TLDR: Michael caught everyone but deflated early when he saw the signal. When Yoko found one more person, Michael used it as a opportunity to regroup, bouncing up to her level and discuss their next course of action before he would carry the last person down to the ground.

''Quick thinking.'' She smiled at Michael as he closed the gap between them in seconds. His way of splitting their workload was genius because no matter how hard she used her quirk she would never be able to make a jump like that. Once the civilian was safely in his arms she leaned on the window frame, panting and trying to focus on taking deep breaths as her mind grew more foggy. Goddamn did she need to work on her cardio, and like a million other things. ''Dunno, don't think we've got much time.'' She responded, glancing up for a moment. ''This building feels like it could collapse soon, and if it doesn't collapse first then I'm going to. I usually don't stay transformed for this long.'' She wiped sweat from her brow. ''...Don't worry about me!'' She called out, feeling self-conscious. ''I'll carry on, see you in a minute!'' She gave a thumbs up as she headed away from the window and up the stairs. ''Keep it together...'' She supported herself using the wall, but slowly felt cold creep up on her hands, the slow but surefire signal that her quirk drawbacks were coming soon. ''Not now.'' She took a deep breath and pushed on. Bursting through the next door she immediately caught everyone's attention with her entrance. ''Everyone... Here to save... Don't... Panic.'' She almost fell over but caught herself, taking in air before yelling at the top of her lungs. ''GET OVER TO THAT WINDOW, NOW!'' Was it intimidation? Yeah totally, but was it faster than trying to be nice and polite? Almost certainly. If the teachers felt the need to yell at her later she would gladly take that after they had passed this exercise together. If they wanted nice Yoko, they should have tutored her better... Maybe she could ask Michael for advice on how to be nicer if she got herself drunk enough to not feel self-conscious about it? ''Michael, more of 'em coming down!'' She shouted from the next window. Hit the Bag
Michael nodded at Yoko's response, ready to get this finished. They were such a great team, covering each other's bases and weaknesses while complimenting their strengths. Michael knew they could likely use more coverage in different aspects, but she was more than his best friend, she was his partner and with her by his side, he felt they could accomplish anything.
Michael glanced back at the civilian on his back and said in a bright and comforting voice, "Don't worry about holding on too tight, I've got you!" Michael jumped out the window and landed on the ground with a cushioned bounce. Once he settled, he set the person down and told them to join the others. After talking with Yoko and feeling fired up by her confidence he was ready to go again.
After a brief stretch, Michael inflated himself again into a crash bag. He had to push himself, he had to go beyond his limits. Yoko and him were going to save everyone! Michael was ready as the first people began to jump out and land on him. After this floor was cleared, he was planning to charge into the building through the front door and start clearing people out that way, meeting with Yoko in the middle as they would clear out the lower floors by foot.
Notes & Tags: Yanai Yoko TLDR: Michael felt reinvigorated by Yoko's projected confidence and went back down to catch more people as a crash pad. Once they cleared that floor, Michael planned to go through the front door to start clearing the ground floor as he would make his way to meet up with Yoko to clear the final floors with her by foot.

Between keeping her quirk active and being in a exercise that required her to move around a lot, this was probably the longest she had ever been active without any breaks and she was feeling it hard. ''Okay.. Out the window, my friend he..'' She pointed down at Michael, not even able to finish her sentences anymore. Thankfully the civilians were compliant despite the way she looked and talked and eventually she was able to make sure they all made it down safe. That just left the rest of the building below her. As she was making her way back down the stairs, the building shook again and she hit her head on the wall, her quirk turning off as her drawbacks started came crashing in with a vengeance. ''Not now! Stupid quirk!'' She shouted at her hands as if telling her quirk off would slow it down. By the time she met up with Michael she was shivering, cold from head to toe as if she had been dunked in an ice bath. ''Are we... Did we do it?'' Her teeth were clattering as her cold breath showed in the air with every exhale. ''I can't go any longer, I'm done for today.'' She let out a small sigh. ''You know, no matter what the teachers say.'' She would begin walking towards the exit with him. ''You did a really good job. I'll fight anyone that says otherwise, even if it's you. Don't you dare doubt yourself, Michael.'' She pointed a shaky, cold finger up at him to try and help deliver her maliciously positive threat. Samaritan

Drop and Roll
When Yoko signaled the last person coming out the window, Michael caught them and rapidly deflated himself. He sprang up and started running towards the building. As tired and sore as he was, he couldn't quit yet. There were more at stake than just the civilians inside. Michael knew that Yoko was pushing herself too. While Michael had been stretching himself to his physical limits, he knew Yoko was doing the same with her quirk.
Michael shoulder checked through the front door, breaking it open as he charged inside. The heat was a bit more intense than he had expected, but he couldn't give anyone a hint of his exhaustion or negative affinity to heat. He used it to inflate the gas in his arms more abundantly. While this thinned his latex like skin more while the heat made it more pliable, he focused on breaking open doors and getting people out into the hall way as quickly as possible. He instructed them to all hurry towards the exit while he made his way deeper inside.
Michael was making his way up the stairwell when he found Yoko, looking like a drowned puppy. He quickly too off the jacket to his gym uniform and wrapped her in it as he picked her up in his arms. "The building's clear. We did it, Oniki. Let's get you out of here." Michael said comfortingly too her as he held her close against him. Cradled in his arms, Michael rushed them back down the stairs. The flames had built up and the ceiling was beginning to sag harshly now. They weren't going to be able to go out the front door.
An idea clicked for Michael and he ran them back up the stairs. "I've got you Yoko!" Michael declared strongly as he began sprinting through the hall way. The floor warped and splintered as the flames from below were rising and fast. Smoke filled the corridor making it all but impossible to see, save for the light of the hot flames and a single beacon at the end of the hall. Michael booked it towards that beacon, the open window Yoko had used to toss down evacuees. Michael pushed through the fire and pain and leapt through the window. Wrapping Yoko tightly in his arms, they dropped to the ground, where Michael rolled before finally coming to a stop.
Michael shifted his arms to look down at Yoko more clearly, coughing lightly from the smoke he inhaled during that last dash. "You doing okay?"

She was relieved to see Michael not only in the building, but the fact that he was doing okay too after pushing himself so much. He had gone through all that, all the quirk use, all receiving and calming down the civilians outside, which to her was easily the tougher of their two jobs. He had done all of that and he still ran back in to get her. Even though this was all a training exercise and she wasn't in real danger, he still ran in here. Normally she would complain about being picked up, and had it been anyone but Michael she would have actively fought them, but today she was resigned to her fate. ''Careful, you're tired too.'' She protested, but that was about all she could muster. Things were certainly getting intense. She was so disoriented she felt like Michael was running upstairs, even though they both knew the exit was several floors down. Hm? Wait, he really was running upstairs? ''Michael.'' There was fear in her voice as she realized what he was going to do, her eyes widening with terror as she looked towards the window. She would have screamed if she had the energy for it, and even though she didn't it still felt like her heart damn near flew out of her body for the time they were in the air and then slammed right back into it when they hit the ground. By the time they were down on the ground and safe she wasn't even sure if she was shaking from the cold, or just the nerves of having taken a plunge like that so spontaneously. ''Y-You did it..'' She mumbled, practically ready to faint. She gave him a weak thumbs up. ''Are you? I want snacks. I want to sleep on a mountain of snacks. For 38 days.''Samaritan
