[attr="class","body"]— a few years ago… —
There are few views in the world — in Yaoyao Suzui (not Hada (yet))’s unbiased and completely factually correct opinion — better, more enchanting, more beautiful, than Fukuoka’s Christmas market at sunset. Though she’s not usually the biggest fan of being surrounded by lights, there’s something about the glow of twinkling, multicolored bulbs between tree branches, cast in gold by the setting sun reflecting off the snow that just…
Makes her baobao look even more gorgeous than he already does by default. And in Yaoyao’s eyes, that’s an accomplishment for the books.
He’s fawning over some display, though, and she’s absolutely paying attention, totally. Definitely not just thinking about the way Baobao’s eyes crinkle when he laughs, or the warmth of his body when they’re cuddling at night, or the way even three years in and counting her heartbeat still tries to throw a ‘coup d’eatit’ (or whatever that stupid French phrase is) and bust right out of her ribcage with joy every time he kisses her… That’d be crazy.
Just, uh. Don’t ask her what color anything is.

Ah, the Christmas market. A place Kei had been to basically every year. It was something that he should be used to; a tourist attraction that a local like him would realize had lost its magic due to the constant exposure. Neither was the case for him however. Something about the twinkling lights and smell of gingerbread and cocoa got to him every time. The trips were only made better when his relationship with Yaoyao started here and she'd joined him on these outings, since despite the at times overwhelming lights and sounds. Sensory overload was something even he had a risk of experiencing, so he was always touched that she would brave it just for him. It was early in the evening so the market wasn't in full swing yet activity-wise - most preferred to come in when the lights shone against a dark backdrop - but it meant he and Yaoyao could wander around without getting lost in the crowd. Beyond admiring its usual flair, Kei was here to look for presents for his friends and family. Family was always first. Kei turned to his girlfriend and held up two scarves for her to assess, one royal blue with a subtle diamond pattern, the other a burgundy that was knitted. "Which do you think's better for ani? The blue's pretty and he doesn't have a lot of blue but this one looks so nice and cozy..."𝕐 + 𝕐
