It had been a while since her and Maisie really had a chance to catch up. Maisie had been busy with her hero school, she had been busy with her night school and... Secret and totally legal assassination job. On the civilian side however, she was Maisie's personal bodyguard. The only real problem with her job now was that Maisie didn't need any protecting on campus where she wasn't allowed, and besides, Maisie was a capable girl in her own right! At least that's what she wholeheartedly believed. She was a lot tougher than her parents gave her credit for.

That being said, it felt good to be needed, and to help guide her around the city even if she was just carrying shopping bags. Arsenal, or rather, Amber as she called herself was excited to see Maisie again as she ran to meet her. She wanted to hug her then and there, but she also didn't want to overwhelm her, so she instead reached for her hand and gave it a careful squeeze. ''It's so great to see you again, Maisie!! How has school been treating you? Are you making lots of friends? Fooling around with anyone? Tell me all the deets!'' She beamed, offering her arm while they walked if Maisie needed it.

''So, what stores are we hitting up today? You're the boss!'' Amber looked at the street ahead of them. There were so many options!

She had been looking forward to this day for quite a while. Amber was her bestest friend, and the person that she trusted the most in her life. She'd always been there for her, and unlike Maddie, could actually talk and voice her likes, dislikes and regular conversations. After her experiences at school so far, it was a breath of fresh air to be able to have someone around her that she didn't have to try so hard to be good and polite around.

She would grin ear to ear and shake her hand before pulling her into a bit hug. "It's so good to see you too." It was such an ironic thing to say, but she said it nonetheless. "School has been a bit difficult, but I really like everything that I'm learning so far! It's more educational than I thought it would be." At the question or friends and lovers, she would blush and shake her head in a no. "I haven't been able to do any of those things! I am not sure why I haven't been able to make friends, but it's a lot harder than I thought it would be. If I can't even make a friend, then there's no way I'm getting anyone to date me!" She would huff, crossing her arms and pouting. "You'd think that it wouldn't be that difficult. Are you having any luck with those things?"

She would listen to her reply, before thinking about where she wanted to go. "I guess I would like to get some new dresses and perhaps some warmer socks. It's starting to get colder in the mornings so I want to really make sure that my feet stay warm. Is there anywhere you want to go?"

She happily accepted the hug, hugging Maisie right back, but not too tightly since she didn't want to startle her or anything. ''Right? I bet you're learning tons about like, science and history and quirks and stuff!'' While she didn't go to hero school herself she was taking night classes in Tokyo and she was learning a bunch about how the world worked that way too. ''Ehhh?'' She was shocked to hear that Maisie wasn't charming up every person in her grade. ''No one is messing with you, right? As your bodyguard I'll give them a piece of my mind!'' She was right there huffing alongside her, ready to go to war to protect her friend.

''Uhh, not really! I don't know the first thing about dating, and it's not that easy to meet people my age.'' Well, not unless she wanted to settle down with something like a villain or fellow assassin like herself. ''It's a good thing we're young, right? We've got our whole lives to figure all this out!'' She tried to spin it into something positive to keep the mood of their conversation light. ''It is! Fall has really been sweeping in full force hasn't it?'' There was a reason she was wearing her long coat today. ''I could actually use some warmer socks too, and I know just the store for looking at pretty dresses!'' She would offer Maisie a hand or arm as they began walking to the first store, the pleasant warmth of the indoors hitting them as they entered through the automatic doors, music playing on the speakers faintly throughout the store. When one of the staff working their approached her she just quickly explained their situation and that she was helping Maisie. That seemed to be enough to make them leave them be.

Directing Maisie to a chair by the changing rooms, the two got their own little setup in the corner where no one was going to bother them. ''Did you have any colors in mind for your dresses, Maisie?''

"It's honestly maybe too much!" She'd never learned so many things at the same time. Due to her blindness, most of her lessons were taught to her one at a time. She did get some accommodations in university, but it was different than her private tutors and one on one help. "But no one is messing with me. I guess maybe some of the other people are just prettier than me, or cooler. Maybe I'm a burden or something, I'm not sure." The reasoning behind why people did what they did was not something she could really ask about.

"I mean, I'm your age." She would try to note that for her, just encase she had forgotten. "Maybe we should look up how to go on a date and go on a fake one to practice! I'm sure that someone will try to get with you eventually." She was sure that Amber was pretty and could get anyone she wanted. "But you're right, I don't want to worry too much about it, I have all my studies to do!"

Warmer clothing in general just sounded cozy for the type of weather it was going into. "I think that we should for sure get some socks that look cute and are soft! We don't want to have something that isn't comfortable if we are going to wear them all day on cold days!" Maisie would take her hand and hold it tightly, wanting to make sure that she didn't get bumped away from her if something happened. She would move over to the chair when directed to and adjust her dress. "I think that something brown or burnt orange could be really nice for fall. Those are the colors for fall, right?" A small head tilt as she tried to remember, but also look for Amber to confirm that.

''N-No way, Maisie!'' She gave her hand a reassuring squeeze. ''You're the prettiest and the cooliest! You're never a burden to anyone, not your school mates and especially not me or your family.'' It wasn't something that she could say for sure of course, but it was how she felt. Amber struggled with low self-esteem herself and she wasn't about to let Maisie go through that. Maisie was amazing and funny, and so pretty, none of her classmates were giving her a chance, that had to be the reason she wasn't making more friends!

''E-Eh? Really? I guess we are the same age!'' She chuckled, having completely forgotten that Maisie wasn't somehow older than her. ''A fake date? That doesn't sound like a bad idea! I bet you'll meet the one soon, and then you've already tried what it's like to be on a date, right?'' She gave Maisie a reassuring pat on the back. ''That's right! We both have our studies and stuff, and once we've studied we'll be a lot smarter and get careers and maybe find someone along the way.''

She nodded her head and bowed at Maisie as she sat in the chair. ''That's right, like the colors of the leaves that fall off the trees. I'll go find some.'' And it didn't take her long to come back with a few different pairs. ''How does this feel? Were you thinking warm like this?'' She took Maisie's hand and gently put one of the pair of socks in them so she could feel the material for herself. ''These are burnt orange, they're a little darker than my hair actually.'' She smiled, awaiting Maisie's reaction before repeating the process with a few more socks until they made sure Maisie got them in a material she would like to wear. After all, while look was important, the feel of the clothes was super important too.

"You really think so?" She would feel a bit self conscious about all the compliments she was getting. To her, she wasn't anything super special, so receiving such being praises felt off. "I'm sure you are too!" It always felt odd that she would never be able to confirm or deny the looks of the people around her, thus it made her feel like her comments perhaps didn't feel as genuine as they could have if she could see.

"That's what I was thinking! I'm worried about what to say and what to do during one. What do you even expect for a date?" She pondered what she knew from the movies she had listened to, but that wasn't too much of a help. "I suppose kissing is a big factor, isn't it? I always hear that they kiss at the end of dates." She'd never kissed anyone, and having that expectation did keep her on edge a little bit.

As they started with the dresses, Maisie was patient and thankful to Amber. It wasn't everyday that you had someone that wanted to shop with you and help describe things to you. When the pair of socks were given to her to touch, she would put out her hands and inspect them. "Hm, yes, I like this one. It's very soft." That was the biggest thing for her to be aware of; if a material wasn't to her liking, then it wasn't wroth wearing. For most of the things that Amber gave, she would nod in agreement to them, happy that she had gotten so good at helping her. "Make sure to get some things for yourself too, it's on me after all!"
