"I thought so too! People tell me that I look elegant, so I wanted something that felt formal if I said it aloud. Thanks for confirming that it doesn't sound stupid or childish." Even if it was, she was glad that he didn't say that to her face. With his silence, she would let him stir in it. One thing that she'd noticed from coming to Japan, is that a lot of people did not have a lot of confidence in themselves. She didn't either, but she wasn't going to talk about that right now. After a pause, she would look over to him and smile. "Whatever you're thinking about what I said is okay. It's my judgement on you, so hopefully it helps you have another perspective."

Giggling at his guess, she would shake her head in a no. "Not exactly. I can't see my quirk, but people say it reminds them of an angel, perhaps a biblically accurate one. Or it reminds them of a nightmarish horror. Or it gives them comfort. The thing is that I have to sing to activate it, so in a way, no matter what people think it reminds them of, it's good at getting someone's attention like a elegy is." She'd wait a few seconds for him to think about it, before she'd continue. "When I sing, I can see in a way. My voice echoes off things- everything but living things. I can see that absence when I sing, and know that there is a person there. I guess echoes can't really go through people as easily." She'd carefully take a sip of her drink, knowing that she just talked a lot. Maddie would look up to make sure that she could properly, before going back to looking around for danger. "I can't really see it myself, but people say that I summon wings with eyes on it, that follow you. It's been called scary, beautiful... and everything in between."

"Theme parks?" Maisie would perk at the mention of an amusement park. Maybe... Just maybe... They could go to one together? Oh gosh, the idea sounded so exciting! With a scared breath, she would ask a question. "Have you, been to amusements parks with a lot of girls?" Maybe that's why he liked going to them? Was it because he was secretly a ladies man and took every girl there? Oh, maybe he was bisexual, that was bad for her to assume. She would correct herself. "Or boys."

Going out at night felt nice. "A late night walk sounds really relaxing, the wind is one of my favorite things because it's just... Always there for me to feel. It lifts me up and makes me able to smell and feel better." The thought made her happy. "It is very hard. I feel that I am behind because I cannot see, but I want to be a hero to help people. I wasn't... Actually supposed to be a hero. My parents wanted me to be in the general education program so that I would be protected, but I don't want to be treated like I'm helpless..." She would squeeze his hands. "So, I want to prove that I can save people just as good as anyone else, even if that means I have to do a lot!"

"Yes, my quirk is a bit scary when I sing." She'd nod shyly, knowing that it wasn't the best thing to start a conversation with. "It is not destructive, but scary." It was hard to really know what scary was, but she had been told that it was. "I guess... Well, I have not seen it, but it has been described as wings with eyes on them." As she said it, she could feel her face flush at the thought. She had no way of knowing if it was true.

Perking up at her explanation, she would get excited to see that they were similar. "I suppose that is similar to mine! When I sing, my voice bounces off everything but people." She'd clap a bit in happiness that maybe, someone would understand her quirk. "I am even more happy to sing with you now, miss. This will be a great bonding experience!" Feeling around for a microphone, she would settle until waiting until Misaki was ready to give her one. "Maybe we can sing one together?"

Having someone to sing with and to practice her quirk with sounded like a dream. It wasn't everyday that she felt that she was able to meet others that had a similar quirk to her own. Even when she did, they usually did not want to practice with her, as of their world were some type of trade secret that they couldn't expose. Maisie didn't care all too much, but she also knew that her quirk could easy freak out the wrong people if she wasn't careful with it.

Finding the spot that was given to her, she was able to get a ride to the location from one of her families' workers. Entering in and getting to the room, Maisie would immediately bow at the doing of someone else's voice. "Oh, I'm glad I found the right room." She would look in the direction of Misaki with her eyes open. "Yes, I had someone drive me." Moving closer to her voice, she would bend down to make sure she didn't bump into anything. "Thank you for reserving the room." She would say quietly before sitting down safely. "I'm excited to hear your singing abilities. I will give you a warning, people have said that what happens when I sing scared them."

Maisie only hoped that her words would reach him in a way that would help. It was sometimes hard to know if what she said was received well, as she was never able to get the visual aspect of the reaction to her words. Because of that, she tried to speak from the heart so she wouldn't be ashamed of what she said. In a world where people so easily lied, she vowed to never do such a thing and to always be honest with her words.

"My hero name..." It was as if she forgot it for a second. "Well, I hadn't really planned on in advance, but I like Elegy. I guess it sounds a little grim, but I think it fits what my quirk is, and how I want to say the truth about those around me." Would a sweet girl like her having a hero name like that spark controversy? Perhaps, but it was one that she choose so she was happy with it.

As he explained his quirk, she would sit there patiently, nodding along with his description. "Wow, well, it sounds like a very versatile quirk to use. I'm sure that any hero agency would be lucky to have you. Rail Gun fits that really well. I can already hear it now, that it will be something that people will chant and scream when they see you!" She would wait a few moments, before trying to ease his mind even more with her words. "There you go though, even if you may not be sure of your path, you can have a name you can be proud of, no matter what your future leads you to. No matter what you become, or how famous you are, I will always think of Rail Gun being someone that thought about their name to great detail. I'm proud of you for that."

"You really think so?" She would feel a bit self conscious about all the compliments she was getting. To her, she wasn't anything super special, so receiving such being praises felt off. "I'm sure you are too!" It always felt odd that she would never be able to confirm or deny the looks of the people around her, thus it made her feel like her comments perhaps didn't feel as genuine as they could have if she could see.

"That's what I was thinking! I'm worried about what to say and what to do during one. What do you even expect for a date?" She pondered what she knew from the movies she had listened to, but that wasn't too much of a help. "I suppose kissing is a big factor, isn't it? I always hear that they kiss at the end of dates." She'd never kissed anyone, and having that expectation did keep her on edge a little bit.

As they started with the dresses, Maisie was patient and thankful to Amber. It wasn't everyday that you had someone that wanted to shop with you and help describe things to you. When the pair of socks were given to her to touch, she would put out her hands and inspect them. "Hm, yes, I like this one. It's very soft." That was the biggest thing for her to be aware of; if a material wasn't to her liking, then it wasn't wroth wearing. For most of the things that Amber gave, she would nod in agreement to them, happy that she had gotten so good at helping her. "Make sure to get some things for yourself too, it's on me after all!"

"I see, sorry if it was a sensitive topic. I have never had anyone interested in me, so I wasn't sure if you had a similar experience or not." It felt weird to not really have any experience or knowledge about what was normal. "I'm glad that I am not making anyone jealous or overstepping." Maisie smiled, giving her a small squeeze to his hands. "I am fine with it too, Arc." It felt nice to be able to touch someone normally. A lot of the time she would get bumped or touched without really wanting that. Here, she was wanting it and she felt safe with Arc.

"For fun?" That was a tricky question for her. "I like to do baking and eating food! I also love music, and learning about new things. I'm a hero at UAU too, so I guess I will have a lot of time to learn new things." She beamed with this information, her thumbs rubbing his hands ever so gently. As a last little note, she would say an almost secret. "I also love to just listen to people talking around me, I think it's kind of funny!" It was a weird thing to do, but something that a lot of people ignored in their day to day life. "What about you, what do you do for fun?"

She wasn't sure if she had spoken out of turn. It was easy to think that the way that Maisie talked was more straightforward than should be allowed, but in reality Maisie was just sure about the things that she wanted to say. With her already having a barrier in getting close to people, she tried her best to be open about her own feelings so that nothing was lost in translation.

"Well, I'm glad to hear that." A warm smile was shown to Arc, because in those moments, she was so content to be able to make a genuine connection with someone. Even if they only held hands and nothing more, she had someone that she wanted to be around that was her age and didn't find her annoying. "I think you're fun to be around too! You make me really happy." Noticing that they were still holding hands, Maisie would jump a bit and move her head downwards. "Is it weird that we are holding hands like this? I wouldn't want to make your partner jealous or to get the wrong idea." Maisie wasn't even sure who you should be holding hands with, so maybe she had stepped over the line. "We can stop if you want to."

When Maisie sings, she is able to locate those within the proximity of her quirk through the vibrations that here voice gives off. Her voice has a natural hum to it, exaggerating the tone that she carries out. Rather than "seeing" them, Maisie can see the outline of them as her voice is not able to reverberate off of living beings. Maisie's awareness is boosted to her quirk level when she is singing. As an added bonus, the pink of her hair glows when she sings!

Rather than "seeing" them, Maisie can see the outline of them as her voice is not able to reverberate off of living beings. Maisie's awareness is boosted to her quirk level when she is singing. As an added bonus, the pink of her hair glows when she sings!

Maisie is a small framed beauty. With black and pink hair. Those that have touched her hair say that its incredibly soft and silky. Her eyes are closed and covered with a white lace cover due to her blindness. Her clothing is usually comfortable but elegant with a preference for whites and cream colors. For her whole life, she was looked after and treated as though she was entirely helpless. Every one of her needs and desires were taken care of my staff that were around her at all hours of her day. The reason for this? She was born blind into an extremely wealthy family. As some would say, she had the privilege to lead a normalized life due to the fact that she was able to receive state of the art accommodations for her. 

Even so, there was always the nagging feeling that she was helpless, perhaps even lesser, than those her age due to her lack of eyesight. The thing was, she wasn't actually blind. If Maisie did choose to open her eyes, her appearance became something that others apparently feared. Because of this, she chose to live her life as if she couldn't see, isolating her from many situations she got into.

She wasn't completely alone though. Maisie had her sister, Gabriella, her best friend and bodyguard, and her guide dog Maddie. With those three, she never felt that her life was totally dull. Moving to Japan with the three of them, their parents encouraged her to go to UA because she would be safe from harm. Sadly, she didn't want to be seen as helpless. With the idea of helping people with her quirk, Maisie secretly signed up to be a support student.

Maisie

Maisie felt like she was speaking to her prince charming. They had only known each other for a little bit of time, but Maisie felt that there was a connection between them. Maybe it was that longing for human connection and actual compliments that was getting them to act like this, but she hadn't felt that she had gotten such a genuine comment from a stranger ever. She would bow her head a bit as he spoke, as if embarrassed by the reddening of here cheeks. He was staring at her, and she couldn't really do anything about it. It was always odd that people could just stare at her without her knowledge, but this felt different. Maisie wanted Arc to look at her, and at least look at her because she was pretty.

The grip on his hands would tighten, as if she was scared that he would leave her grasp and never see her again. How could you so casually say things to someone and not be embarrassed? Was he embarrassed? She wasn't really able to tell because she couldn't see him. At his comment, she would lean a bit closer, wanting to get his attention. "Well, I can't see you, and you're making me happy right now!" The words were bold and clear, as she wanted him to know how she felt. "I haven't felt like this ever, and holding your hands makes my heart move." She wasn't sure of the term in the moment, but it was the right idea.

"You don't have to have a perfect face or personality. Just us sitting here holding hands is making me want you to stay around." Realizing what she said, she would bite her lip to stop herself from speaking so much. "U-Um... I mean, not to force that on you..." Maybe the feeling wasn't mututal.

"It's important to take it slow. If you don't, then you miss out on everything else school has to offer! I'm sure that you'll make a great hero, no matter how you choose to do that." Maisie never wanted anyone else to feel their version of a hero wasn't the correct one, as there was a reason that there were so many hero agencies or types of heroes. "And you have time to decide don't you? Even if you don't want to be a hero at the end of it all, you would have learned to use your quirk really well."

When a similar question was given to her, she took a few seconds to think about her answer. "I suppose because people didn't think I was able to. I had a lot of people say that a blind girl could never be a hero, or that I wouldn't know what the world needs." She'd shake her head in dissatisfaction with those ideas. "I think that is far from the truth. People choosing my path for me, which would have been that of overprotection and nothing of my own." It wasn't a life that she wanted for herself.

She wasn't really waiting for anything in particular, because she knew that it was useless to expect too much from people you didn't know well. Her hands got a bit cold, only for them to be warmed by his touch. It wasn't a perfect physical touch, but it was more than she was expecting from him.

"Thank you." Her hands would shake a bit in excitement, as she wasn't expecting him to give so many big compliments. He seemed so genuine that it was hard to believe that someone like that even existed and was sitting across from him. How could that even be possible? Was he some type of prince charming, or was he just being nice to her because he wanted something from her? She was never able to tell things like that, and perhaps that was the downfall that she had as a nice person.

"I really appreciate all of the positive things that you said, Arc. It makes me feel like I'm worth looking at." With her being blind, that was always her worry. Did she not have friends because she was ugly, or because people just didn't want to try so hard to be around her. "It... It really makes me happy." Her eyes would try to look at him, a genuine smile coming from her. "I can tell that you are such a genuine person, Arc. I'm sure that you're going to make someone really happy with how you talk to me!" She would move her hands to squeeze his, trying to make him feel good about himself. "I'm sure that your hair looks really good, and I'm sure it's really soft too."
