"I hope you can go back one day. Even though you may be here now, there is something really nostalgic about where you were born, I think. You have a connection that never goes away." She would sigh under her breath as she tried to remember her family going out on sailboats along the coast of Italy during the summer. How the wind felt in her hair and how the water would splash her hands when she leaned over. "Sharing those places with people feels good too." This was much quieter, as if she could imagine Arc beside her in those moments. She would force that image out of her head though. You can't be thinking like that, you've known him barely a day! She thought in her head, getting angry at herself. At the same time, hearing him talk about cats with such passion made her want to hear it more. He seemed so kind and genuine in those moments that she was having a hard time pulling away.

Leaning in, she would place her elbows on the table and smile in his direction, her open eyes white and translucent. "While an exotic cat would be nice, I want the opposite. Give me the one that has been through the most, or a few, and I will adopt them." With a confirming nod, she would settle on that. "Of course, that's not to say that the exotic one doesn't deserve a home either! Maybe I'll just adopt them all, so you can see them safely whenever you want." She took a second to realize what she implied, before waving her hands frantically in front of her. "I-I mean not that you need to come over to my house!" Nice one Maisie.

When he complimented the way she thought, she had no other choice than to bury her face in her hands. She was too red to process anything anymore, especially after her own mess up. With a simple nod, that would be the only reply he got for a few moments as she tried to calm down. She would peek through her fingers by opening them up, letting him know that she was still paying attention to him. "Do you say these things to all the girls you try to rob and befriend, or just me?"

"Thank you." The fact that he didn't laugh at her idea made her feel pretty good about herself. Perhaps she'd actually get it off the ground so that she could make it a reality! When you had even a little bit of support, but felt really nice. "Canada? That sounds nice. I've never been there myself." She imagined how snowy it was, especially with how she had felt it snow in Japan in the last new years that she had been here. Cold to the touch, soft and elegant.

"Stray cats? Hm, well, you could use that money to give them some good food, I bet. I'm sure they'd appreciate it." Maisie thought it was a good cause, at least. "If you ever need help, I don't mind. My house is pretty big so I was meaning to adopt some more animals!" She was sure that Maddie would love the company. "It's really good that you're giving them friends. I'm sure they're lonely and scared."

At the mention again of her clothing brand, she could feel herself get redder. "Ah, you really know how to make me blush. I am not used to someone making me feel so special." It was an awkward comment, followed up by her literally slurping at her almost empty drink. A few seconds passed in silence. "I-I guess since I feel I can't do much, I want to do something. I want to make a difference in the ways that I can."

"We are all doing our best with what we have. I'm sure you're doing the best you can." She would never want to make someone feel that they were lesser just because they didn't have everything that she had. Wherever he was, she wouldn't care too much and continue on as normal with how she treated them.

Maddie would lean into the scratches and pant a bit; it wasn't often that Maisie let other people pet her at all, so this was a treat. When he complimented her name though, Maisie would feel herself curl up a bit in her seat. "O-Oh, thank you." Her hand would go to her cheek to see if she was blushing- she was, harder than she wanted to. Is this what a prince charming was like, or was it just a simple compliment? Clearing her throat, she would push in her chair a bit to make sure that she wouldn't be in the way if he were to sit across or beside her.

"M-Miss Independent?" She would stutter out her words at the mention of that name. "Um... I like music, and baked goods. I like going clothing shopping to touch the different materials. I was hoping one day to make a clothing brand that uses braille in the design." Her hands were still cupped around her drink, but they wiggled a bit in excitement. "I like when it's hot or cold out because I can feel it even if I can't see what it does to the world around me. I love animals too!" Realizing that she was ranting a bit, her hand would go up to her mouth with a gasp. "Sorry um, what about you-" she cut herself off as she tried to think of a good nickname for him. "-Mister Arch?"

"More mature?" She giggled at the thought of it. Her, more mature than someone older than her? He probably had a degree and a nice house and a nice job! She was still living at home and had just started her academic adventures. "That's very funny to say, cute even! I'm sure you're much more mature and well established than me." She had no idea, but wouldn't assume that he wasn't in his own way.

"Of course I still want you as a friend!" She would almost protest, but would lower her voice as if to not sound so desperate. "I-It's much welcome, really." Putting her hands around her drink, she took a few nervous sips to fill the silence that happened between them. "Oh, her name is Maddie. You're welcome to pet her. And I'm Maisie! I'm not sure I said my name. I'm a bit forgetful sometimes. Even if I did, I can introduce myself as your friend now!" With a little tap on her thigh, Maddie would stand up and look more friendly. Coming closer to Arc, she would sniff and him and wag her tail. "Good girl, this is our friend now! He's a nice guy, he called you adorable!" She would rub at Maddie's back, her gaze down towards the creature. "Would our new friend like to sit down and join us?" Even though she was asking Arc, she was still talking to Maddie, as if the dog was going to give her the reply.

She would wait in anticipation of his reply. It was hard to guage what someone was feeling when she couldn't sense their presence fully. When they were close enough to touch, Maisie was able to better judge that person. Still, she wouldn't rush him or add anything onto her words, because it was important for her to stay true to herself.

As she felt their hands connect, she would give a friendly squeeze and shoot him an award winning smile. At the mention of age though, it was her turn to be embarrassed. "Oh wow, um. Well I'm very glad we can be friends. I'm a little younger." A pause, her hand awkwardly moving away from his. "I'm eighteen, but I hope thar doesn't change us being friends!" As of to convince him, she would put her hands together and beg him. "I promise I'm not annoying so please don't turn me away. I can give you more money if it'll mean you stay."

Maisie didn't want him to think that he wasn't worth anything. With a puff, she would just cross her arms at his answer. "I don't believe that! You sound very kind. You are worth a lot more than you think." Maisie never wanted anyone to think that they weren't worth something! Everyone had a purpose and something they were good at, and it was Maisie's hope that he realized that. "I just know that life is worth living and I want to spend my time making interesting friends that I can help out." If she just got people that were safe, then she would isolate herself more than she already was.

"I don't feel like you're a bad person." She would continue to look up in his direction. "I mean, you didn't actually take my money, and you are apologizing now. I get that maybe you have more friends and you don't need another, but I would appreciate you being mine." It was a simple request, but perhaps one that would feel weird and out of place. "I mean... We are the same age I would think? I can provide a lot of things to a good friendship, promise!" She would extend her hand to him. "If you want that is, I am available!

"It's honestly maybe too much!" She'd never learned so many things at the same time. Due to her blindness, most of her lessons were taught to her one at a time. She did get some accommodations in university, but it was different than her private tutors and one on one help. "But no one is messing with me. I guess maybe some of the other people are just prettier than me, or cooler. Maybe I'm a burden or something, I'm not sure." The reasoning behind why people did what they did was not something she could really ask about.

"I mean, I'm your age." She would try to note that for her, just encase she had forgotten. "Maybe we should look up how to go on a date and go on a fake one to practice! I'm sure that someone will try to get with you eventually." She was sure that Amber was pretty and could get anyone she wanted. "But you're right, I don't want to worry too much about it, I have all my studies to do!"

Warmer clothing in general just sounded cozy for the type of weather it was going into. "I think that we should for sure get some socks that look cute and are soft! We don't want to have something that isn't comfortable if we are going to wear them all day on cold days!" Maisie would take her hand and hold it tightly, wanting to make sure that she didn't get bumped away from her if something happened. She would move over to the chair when directed to and adjust her dress. "I think that something brown or burnt orange could be really nice for fall. Those are the colors for fall, right?" A small head tilt as she tried to remember, but also look for Amber to confirm that.

Maisie knew that the amount she gave perhaps wasn't something you would give someone that you didn't know, but she felt bad for him. If he had to resort to stealing things from her, then he may not have a good home life or any home life at all. That thought made her sad, and she wanted to write her wrongs to ensure that he wouldn't have to be the bad person that she knew he wasn't.

"That's for you, and nothing more." She'd give a curt nod, trying her best to showcase that she was okay with the amount she gave him. "You have no debt to me. You made a mistake and I surely hope that you learned from it." She smiled in his direction, holding her body rather still.

When he asked if she could do anything in return, she would blush and turn her face downwards. It was a bit odd to have him be so forward about doing things for her. At the same time, it probably felt only right after all the emotions he had put her through. "Um..." Maisie would move her hands away from her purse and rub her thumbs together. "I guess... Would you..." A gulp escaped her, as if her words were getting caught. "... Do you want to be my friend? I-If you need more money for that, I don't mind."

She had been looking forward to this day for quite a while. Amber was her bestest friend, and the person that she trusted the most in her life. She'd always been there for her, and unlike Maddie, could actually talk and voice her likes, dislikes and regular conversations. After her experiences at school so far, it was a breath of fresh air to be able to have someone around her that she didn't have to try so hard to be good and polite around.

She would grin ear to ear and shake her hand before pulling her into a bit hug. "It's so good to see you too." It was such an ironic thing to say, but she said it nonetheless. "School has been a bit difficult, but I really like everything that I'm learning so far! It's more educational than I thought it would be." At the question or friends and lovers, she would blush and shake her head in a no. "I haven't been able to do any of those things! I am not sure why I haven't been able to make friends, but it's a lot harder than I thought it would be. If I can't even make a friend, then there's no way I'm getting anyone to date me!" She would huff, crossing her arms and pouting. "You'd think that it wouldn't be that difficult. Are you having any luck with those things?"

She would listen to her reply, before thinking about where she wanted to go. "I guess I would like to get some new dresses and perhaps some warmer socks. It's starting to get colder in the mornings so I want to really make sure that my feet stay warm. Is there anywhere you want to go?"

"I see." She felt a bit sad that her idea wasn't going to work, but then again, it made sense that such an idea may have been a bit ambitious. Right now, she had no idea if it weas busy out or not, or if now would be a good time to have Maddie go out. "Thanks for letting me know about that, I didn't know it wasn't busy." It was good that he was being honest at the very least, as he could have outright lied about how busy it was.

In the meantime, she hoped that they could get the know more about one another. It was hard for her to make friends at the school, partly because she was sheltered and partly because a lot of people seemed to avoid her. When asked a question, she perked up and begun to think about her answer. "It is a lot more than I thought it was honestly. I didn't expect there to be so many things that I didn't think about or consider." With a pause, she would go into more detail. "Like making friends, I didn't realize that it was so difficult to make friends. The classes are a bit more hands-on than I am used to, and it takes some extra work for the staff to make things accessible, but I try my best to help them out where I can." She would wait a few seconds, trying to think if there was anything to add. "What about yourself? Are you excited to be a hero?"

She would wait there patiently, knowing that she was safe when she was in Kysaly's shop, Kys café. Kysaly wasn't one to let their place be unsafe for those that were newcomers or regulars. As she heard his voice, she felt her body tense up. Kysaly was not in reach, but she could surely call out for help if she had to. At the same time, she remembered that he wasn't as bad as he tried to make himself seem.

"Hello there again sir, it's good to see that you're okay." She would slowly turn towards his voice, giving a small bow. She tried her best to remember the voices of the people she came across, and he was no exception. "I'm Maisie, and it's quite alright. I know that it must not be something you wanted to do." She would move her hand into her purse, before feeling for her bills and touching the corner. With a smile, she would pull out 15 thousand yen to hand it to him. "It isn't much, but I hope that it can at least cover your drink and something nice for yourself."

She would look down to her drink, blissfully unaware of the fact that he had walked in. She had noticed someone walk in, but since Kysaly didn't seem too concerned by it, she would continue to drink up. Kysaly would move to serve Arc without any real concern. The way that he reacted however, made Kysaly look at him like he was a bit crazy. Perhaps they recognized them, or Maisie? They'd just shrug though, as it wasn't their concern to worry about.

Maisie would turn around to whoever it was that did enter and try to bow in their direction, before leaning down to pet Maisie. "You look so nice girl! I love the way that your fur looks now that you got a good bath!" She'd smile at her dog, who seemed to be wearing a pretty pink bow on her collar. Oblivious to his presence, what was Arc's next course of action?

"Hold on, let me add." Kysaly would look over Maisie's shoulder whilst staring at her phone. "I'm not sure that you'd be able to get a good description of him, but you think he sounded cute?" They'd blink, then blink again. "Kidnapping and robbery isn't cute, I hope you know." In a disappointing time, they would huff out a big breath.

In reality, Maisie had been glad for Arc trying to rob her. It sounded weird, but that was the most someone had talked to her outside of school. He didn't seem that bad, and she only hoped that there was a chance to meet him again. As Arc walked in Maisie noticing, she would blurt something out. "If I meet him again, I think I would ask him to be my friend!"

She wasn't sure exactly what was happening to her in those moments. Was she supposed to listen to him on those moments, or was she supposed to stay there because he had a knife or a gun pulled out that she couldn't see? She'd gulp, clutching onto her purse and just waiting her, wondering what would happen to her next.

In all honesty, he didn't seem like a bad guy, just a person that was desperate and made a bad choice. If he needed money, it would make sense that he would go after someone that looked weak or easy to take. "I'm sorry for causing you trouble." Maisie would go through her bag and pull out a little card, extending her hand out towards him. The card would have her family's information, including where she lived. "Please take this, if you are in need of money, I can help you out. I would also like to..." He hesitated, looking down at her feet. "..even if you were trying to rob me, you should be able to rely on people so, rely on me!" She would blush, drop the card, and then move away and out of the alleyway from him. She knew that he probably just needed a friend!
