- Unforeseen Simulation Joint: Downpour - "Time to focus up, heroes!" This was it. The time had come. The first real trial of many to come over the years, to test their potential as the next generation of heroes: The Entrance Exam. While they may have gained entrance to the Heroics Program of U.A. University, the Entrance Exam would be the factor in deciding whether they truly had what it took to remain in it for the next few years of their life. Each year the scenarios, the challenges, and the proctors changed, and each year, dozens failed to meet the expectations carried at the institution. Only time would tell whether the three students whose exam Dauntless oversaw would join the statistic or be one of the few who'd earned the privilege of learning from some of the best, the brightest, and the bravest Japan had to offer.
Once Rokuhane Miroru, Johanna Larsen, and Farrin O'Rourke arrived at the Unforeseen Simulation Joint, they would be directed towards the Downpour Zone, the massive dome containing an environment the simulated a constant torrent of harsh rain and gale-force winds within a suburban area. As they entered the starting area, loudspeakers would crackle over the entire area, outdoing the roar of the violent weather raging within.
"Alright! Welcome to your Entrance Exam! I'll be your proctor. You'll each be judged and graded on your individual actions and overall performance during the course of the exam. On to the main event." Screens on the dome's roof would flicker to life, replacing the simulated gray thunderclouds that blanketed them. They would display differing images of a destroyed transport, civilians in various degrees of danger, and a band of figures causing mayhem.
"A storm is passing through this suburban area of Tokyo, causing flash-flooding and other small-scale incidents among its residents. One of these has also caused a prison transport carrying the villain, Bravo, and other criminals to crash, allowing them to escape into the area and cause further damage and panic. You need to save the civilians in peril, stop the criminals causing havoc, and bring down Bravo before time is up." Cars stranded by flooding, and with their passengers on top of them were show, people trapped inside buildings by collapsed trees, powerlines, and other debris was displayed, as well as feeds of criminals harassing people within their homes and business, or directly on the streets was found. Though for the most part they were average thugs, a few actively used their Quirks. And finally, the image centered on Bravo, a hero normally, known for their ability to manipulate objects and people through attaching red strings onto them.
"The time starts once you move forward. Good luck."
|OOC| Alright folks! It's up to you now! As Dauntless said, your goal is to rescue the civilians, neutralize the criminals, and ultimately, if possible, takedown Bravo. The civilians are all androids made to look and act like distressed citizens, and so are most of the mooks! But a few of them are actors who have volunteered to help out in the exam, and so possess actual Quirks that they can fight back with. I'll introduce them randomly in the thread at points to give a twist, but for the most part, it'll be ya'll guiding the exam. I'll only come in for the aforementioned reason or to introduce a new situation. Miroru's ears folded down as she eyed the stormy aura of the Downpour Zone, sighing under her breath as she resolved to stay upbeat and focused to help the other prospective entrants from losing hope due to her downed mood. Her expression was firm and determined, her head held high, as she walked into the reception, looking up as the loudspeakers crackled on.
The storm situation was compounding the difficulty of evacuations and villain apprehension due to the flash flooding, that much was clear. The downed power lines gave her a moments pause, considering the ways that could be leveraged and mitigated, mind racing with possibilities already.
As they were instructed on what started their test- no, what started their TIME- Miroru held her hands out to either side. "Hold a moment. Don't step forward yet. That rule gives us time to coordinate so we're entering as a cohesive unit instead of as singular forces."
Miroru tapped her chest briefly. "I can manipulate EM forces and fields, like the electricity from downed power lines. I'm also fast, and good in a scrap." She pondered a moment, then said, "I can also illustrate safe escape paths by twisting and refracting light. I think I'd do best focusing on rescue at first. I can mark any civilians trapped by heavy objects if one of you is better at resolving that with overhead lights, but I think the best move is to have you two work on subduing the smaller villains while I work on rescue, and reconvening once one job or the other is done to finish what's left before taking on Bravo. The last thing we want is to get stuck fighting him one on one, or neglecting the civilians to engage in a bunch of spars."
She looked between the others. "I'm open to other ideas, of course. You're not obligated to listen to me, but I'm gonna be focusing on rescue either way, and I think we'll all make our best showing working together to get everything accomplished, than wasting time pursuing the same goals separately." She glanced forwards again. "Competitive toxicity at the expense of the citizenry is one of the worst ills of hero society, anyway. Showing we're above it is the way to go."
I can pay no price too great for justice.

Johanna was practically a bouncing ball of energy the moment she had woken up this morning, stress and excitement all coalescing into one excessively hyperactive and overeager package. She had managed to pass all the hurdles before her, somehow gotten herself through the written portions of the entrance exams. And now there was the big test to see if she was as good as she believed she was, alongside dozens of other students who wanted to show their own merits to the U.A. faculty and probably to one another too. Outside it was beautiful weather, but once she walked inside she felt the humidity rise like a pressure cooker, amplified by the own pressure cooker in her stomach that was probably regretting not going for a light meal in the morning, but it was no time for regrets as she would be slotted in with two other students before coming face to face with pro hero and U.A. proctor Dauntless. As if her excitement wasn’t high enough, she was going to be judged by pro heroes on top of all that. ”Save people, stop the villain, sounds like we can knock that one out of the park.” she’d big herself up. The moment the floor was theirs, Johanna near enough immediately went into a dead sprint before being stopped at the last second by one of the other prospects. A red-haired girl who didn’t seem to her like they were a front line type of hero… … She didn’t try to judge people on how they looked, but right now her mind was mostly running on instinct, stress, and excitement… ”Oh right, yeah, it’s probably smart to explain our abilities to one another before we run headlong into the fight!” she conceded, although the yearning to run off still tugged on her natural instinct. Slapping her bicep Johnana would beam a smile at the other two. ”I can manipulate metal to surround myself with an armoured suit, I can also use it to cover objects and people in metal!” she’d exclaim in terms both simple enough for others as well as her own. ”There’s nobody that can push me from my place when I am determined and dug in, so let me take the brunt from those villains and I’ll make sure everybody can do their work in safety!”She had spent the past week tweaking her exo to be able to carry just a little bit more than before, and had made sure to work out extra hard so that her body could carry its fair share. She was primed and ready to take on whatever was thrown her way. ”What about you?” she’d point at the third member of the group with an interested look on her face. ”Can you shoot laser beams from your eyes, or maybe shoot lightning?” she’d ask, her question genuine but equally interpretable as slightly mocking.

[attr="class","Farrin"] [attr="class","KC1"] [attr="class","FarrinBG"] [attr="class","FarrinTop"] [attr="class","FarrinContent"] Silence gripped the moment. While their proctor spoke, Farrin stood, arms crossed, still as stone. He had run simulations like this back in Hero Prep, but was warned that UAU would turn things up to eleven. Good. The challenge might do him some good. How was Sada doing with her exam? And Kenta?
Farrin hopped in place a few times, then threw a few jabs out against the air. He had to clear his mind of such distractions. This exam was demand his best, and he intended to give it. That meant limbering up.
It was only the fox's words that stole him from his short exercise. The exam actually pitted students against each other in a way. There were only so many potential threats to prove oneself against, but if they sought out each and every variable and saw them squared out, all three should pass, right? Besides, cooperation was far more heroic than competition against one's allies in the field. Oh, it was his turn now, wasn't it?
"Sorry, lass. No lasers or lightning. I can speed things up, includin' meself n' others if they stay close, n' slow other things down," he didn't explain the nature of his quirk, but that wasn't necessary to form their strategy. "Aside from me' quirk, I'm pretty strong n' can go toe ta' toe wit' some o' the best in a brawl. I should be a flex. I guarantee I can reach some o' the civvies n' get 'em ta' safety fastest, but can also keep the bads attention on meself n' do some real damage if they prove too numerous or strong." Farrin rolled his shoulders and leaned his head from one side to the other, cracking his neck. "How 'bout I start on ahead, I'll tackle whatever I see first just ta' start clearin' some objectives, whether that's villains or civvies. You start as proposed, workin' rescue angle n' light up anyone that yuh' might need help wit' or areas where there are too many fer one person," he said pointing to Miroru, then shifted to Johanna "n you start wit' villains since yuh' can armor up. I'll try ta' keep track o' yuh' in case yuh' find any villains that hit too hard or yuh get overwhelmed. This way we've one person dedicated ta' each o the bigger tasks, n' me speed will let me bounce between yuh as needed. When we see the bigger bads, we all come together ta' trounce 'em." That was a mouthful.
If everyone was in agreement, and there were no further questions, Farrin would bounce in place two more times before firing up the Chronokinetic powers. White wisps would roll off his form, emerald energy would crackle around him, and his ruby eyes would shift into golden clock dials as time made itself visibly manifest. Then, he would speed off starting the exam.

- Unforeseen Simulation Joint: Downpour - "Time to focus up, heroes!" And so the exam began. The trio would have their work cut out for them, right from the gate. The storm simulated by the dome bordered on that of a hurricane or a typhoon, and so the winds were biting, intense, and whipping, tearing up nearly anything that wasn't securely bolted to the ground. Bus stop covers, benches, and fences were thrown about the area, tossed like trash about and lodged awkwardly into the sides of the road, broken into buildings, and compacting into obstacles that prevented travel.
But the flying debris was the least of the immediate concerns. As Farrin rushed ahead, he could immediately make out three 'objectives' that he could possibly respond to. First among them, was a sinkhole that had opened up in the midst of traffic down the road. While relatively shallow for something of its kind, the pit had rapidly filled with water, and swallowed up several vehicles that had been unfortunate enough to be in the area that it had opened in. Some of their passengers had managed to escape their vehicles in time, and now remained precariously on the rooftops of their transport, though it was quite possible others could remain trapped inside.
Next, along a commercial area that had managed to have its street remain intact, criminals, now wielding an assortment of pipes, thick planks of wood, and other melee items prowled the storefronts, kicking in boarded up windows and barricaded doorways to harass and beat on the civilians that hide within, dragging one or two out to harass and frighten. They seemed to led by a person who resembled some kind of slime-like humanoid, who recklessly demolished what stands still stood, and what cars still remained in their parking spaces along the corners.
Finally, a large tree had been uprooted, and crashed into a three-story residential building that lay next to it. While much of the structure remained intact, the portions directly next to the mighty foliage was demolished and caved in. While hard to make out in the winds, black wisps that resembled smoke could be made out, an educated guess being able to be made that a fire having started as a direct consequence of the destruction. If someone remained inside, trapped, or if the structure itself was stable and safe, remained to be seen.
Johanna and Miroru would themselves be able to make out these situations as they took off into the exam themselves as well.

Everyone else seemed so energetic! Miroru was nearly so distanced from that oddly exuberant attitude both displayed that it was almost entirely alien to her. She understood it, mind, but couldn't empathize with that much... confidence? Nervous energy? She wasn't sure, but she had to fight her way out of her shell when she got nervous.
Clearly not a problem these two shared.
"You can- holy crap, that's amazing. Powerful defense -and- an extremely potent capture weapon. Okay, I see why you want on the front lines. That makes sense, uh... I didn't catch your name. I'm Miroru, if you need to yell for me."
It was hard not to get snarky when Johanna's first question was to ask if Farrin could do all the cool things Miroru did! What was up with that?! It didn't exactly sour her mood, but it made her feel a bit more like chopped liver than normal. Thankfully, he had a very different quirk- one that reminded her of that gray porcupine gal Dusk with the catch phrase, "Order Activate!"- that suited him to scouting and general utility.
"Okay, that's excellent. So we've got someone dedicated to offense, someone for rescue, and our foreign friend has us both covered. That sounds solid. I'll make sure to mark houses with the number of people I can sense inside, and add warning icons for imminent dangers if I can't handle them myself, okay?"
The exam started and the three rushed into action, Farrin unsurprisingly in the lead. Miroru squealed as the wind and rain blasted her, her fox ears folding down against her head as her tail soaked through and lost every ounce of fluffiness immediately, leaving her extremely irritated. The water cooled the surrounding area as well, and they were shielded from the sun, which meant she couldn't do much to recover the heat she was losing to the water soaking her to the skin.
She fought past the discomfort and shifted her focus, using the cooling effect of the rain as an aid to locate the body-temp forms nearby.
The pit was her first concern, and she focused there, feeling for the infrared warmth shed by anyone in their car still, or possibly even in the water itself and out of sight. "THE PIT! There's people still in those cars!" She focused briefly, and two brilliant numbers appeared in the air over the pit, separated by a squiggle representing water- a quick and simple communication of exactly how many bodies Miroru could sense above, and below, the water line!
"I'll handle the apartment building with the tree! I'll stop the fire and get everyone out- I'll leave the pit and the riot to you guys for now! If someone finishes faster than the others, help whoever's struggling worst!"
She didn't waste any more time, trusting the other two to move to where they could do the most good, exactly as she herself did, rushing towards the smoke-smeared building. Another scan here, checking for how many people she could find- but anyone in the fire area would be more or less invisible. Still, the ones outside the flame zone were safer- probably- so Miroru started by feeling for the fire and working her way inside to get eyes on the threat! She couldn't do too much about whatever had ignited, but she could control the fire itself. All that flame was, was infrared radiation, and it was easy enough to contain. It'd be tricky to do without sight on the objects, so she did her best to hurry to the fire, already planning to use her Quirk to stop the flames and reduce the burning materials to smoky charcoal briquettes in the process- extremely dangerous to touch, but with no hazards besides the smoke otherwise... presuming nothing crazy had caught fire!
But first, she had to get to the burning area!
I can pay no price too great for justice.

Blinking a few times at the boys words, she needed to take a few seconds to cut through his accent and understand everything they were saying. Johanna would be the first to admit that planning isn’t her forte, so she was more than content to leave the more high level decision making to her two allies, she was much more comfortable being the blunt instrument anyways. ”I’m Johanna, but I already decided that my hero name will be Ironclad so you can call me that, too!” she’d exclaim with a big smile as they moved into the disaster area. The level of quality of the simulation was high enough to make Johanna’s mind and body react as if it was a real situation, the sense of unease as the wind buffeted around corners and the rain made sure to push against her from every direction. It was truly awe-inspiring, and made her hope that these simulations were deliberately excessive and that the odds of facing such a situation would never become reality to use as lessons. Miroru was quick to coordinate, and Johanna would nod along in silent agreement before looking at Farrin. She didn’t want to take dibs on the action, but perhaps it was best. ”So, I can let go of my armor and use my physical strength to help people in the pit, but I don’t exactly have any ability that’ll help me get them out other than simply carrying them out…” she pondered out loud, hoping that the boy would see the same logic and maybe figure out a way to use his quirk to help the civilians. She’d help in any way if they needed it, too.

[attr="class","Farrin"] [attr="class","KC1"] [attr="class","FarrinBG"] [attr="class","FarrinTop"] [attr="class","FarrinContent"] Oberon," Farrin offered his hero name. It still felt foreign to him, like it belonged to someone else entirely. Someone far more capable. He would become that someone, no matter what it took. Without another word, he was off.
((warning: kind of flashing gif))
When reached the first disaster before the others. It wasn't long before they arrived. As fast as he was, he couldn't be in three places at once. Miroru was off to the smoking building. It was the most sensible choice given her quirk and the potential presence of fire. That left the car pool and the vandals. Another sensible split.
"Leavin' the thugs ta' you, Ironclad. If yuh' need help, I'll be there soon 'nuff. If not, I'll check on Miroru."
Her analysis was correct. She might be able to get them out of immediate danger with ease, but Farrin could get them out and to safety fastest. It was the most efficient use of time. As the team's flex, it was important he tackle challenges the others couldn't accomplish with the same haste, so as to remain better positioned to support them or tackle whatever newest challenges came their way.
A semi-translucent emerald field umbrella'd the pit, slowing the torrential downpour and the rate at which the pool filled. Farrin wasn't the greatest swimmer, but he wasn't terrible either. He dove into the waters and sped first toward the cars with robotic dummies still inside. Miroru's light indicated two trapped in the cars, three (actors) atop their vehicles. Even partly submerged, tearing the doors off wasn't too problematic. What cost Farrin the most time was swimming the dummies back to "shore." The cars were sinking, so with a wave of the hand they too were covered in emerald fields, slowing their passage through time. One by one Farrin would swim to each car, and lob the actors toward the dummies, catching them in slow fields while allowing those fields wrapped around their cars to collapse. In all of a few minutes, he swam back to shore and caught each of the actors out of the air. Now, he just needed to run them back to the starting point, which was designated a safe zone, then get back into the field. "Ironclad and Oberon. Then..." Miroru took a breath, and flashed a bright smile, a tiny flex of her quirk creating a snow of rainbow sparkles around her. "-you can call me Prism! Let's do our best!"
Using her hero name helped push Miroru into the right mindset to perform. She ran fast- though goodness, Oberon was fast as the dickens with his quirk!- and pushed into the building, pausing to map the clear floor pathways by feeling for gaps in the ambient infrared, or spots with absolutely way too much (which indicated active fire). A moment of focus, and she lit up the floors with arrows leading the fastest path to the door where she was, and moved into the building, feeling her wrists start to tingle from the gentle use of her Quirk.
She knew where a lot of the people were at, but the truth was, they could probably find their own way out. She tried every door leading to one of the civilians, shouldering them open if she had to, yelling into each apartment with survivors, "Hurry! Follow the arrows to the office if you can! I'll be back to help you if you can't make it on your own!"
Her priority was to get upstairs to the fire as quickly as possible so she could see who needed her help there. In short order, she'd cleared and marked escape routes for everyone she could find on the way up and given brief instructions before moving on, finding the tree smashed down onto an electric stove which had, apparently, been cooking the pan of eggs crashed to the ground- the heating elements had survived, and set the branches ablaze, along with the rest of the kitchen!
Taking a deep breath and huffing it out, Miroru focused and raised her hands, fingers outstretched- and curled them in to help her direct her quirk. Fire was just tons of infrared heat released by superhot particulate, and that was something she could collect- so she did, swirling it all together into a tight shimmering ball, leaving the burning embers to drown in the rain leaking down through the hole in the roof.
Taking the energy of the raging flames she'd smothered, Miroru pushed it outside and spun it into a tight, flat disk of intense heat- and slid it down at an angle into the tree trunk halfway towards the ground. It took all the energy she'd gathered, but it vaporized a thin sliver of the tree, enough to unsettle it and send the lower half flopping to the ground with a thud, and the leafier top half following as the stump sticking out of the house followed gravity and descended. Then, a quick yank of the cord to unplug the bashed-in stove, and she headed back down into the house to the citizens that hadn't moved to leave the apartment complex.
One was in a wheelchair and needed active aid, which she gave after helping them into a sweater and a raincoat. Another was deaf and needed shown what was going on to understand they needed to get outside.
Once she had everyone from inside safely accounted for in the office, Miroru spoke to the civilians. "I need you all to stay here," She said, taking the wheelchair and heading out into the storm. "The tree's taken care of, and so is the fire, but the wind's hurling things around outside. The office only has windows right here at the back," she said, as she finished moving to push a bookshelf over in front of the window, and started to move the office desk in front of it to brace it as she continued. "But with it blocked, you should be pretty much safe here, if a bit cramped. Just hang tight, and I'll direct emergency services here to evacuate you all as soon as possible!"
I can pay no price too great for justice.

Having made the agreement, Johanna would run off and use scrap metal around her to slowly start grafting a thick layer of armour onto her being, it would slow her down, but she was betting that the hooligans were more interested in a fight than playing grabass. Also, she was grinning from ear to ear. Everyone even had hero names ready, this was already one of the coolest days of her young life and she hadn’t even been accepted into U.A… yet. ”Hey you buncha gongheads, you want some trouble, how about you all take a free swing at me?!” she exclaimed with a loud boisterous claim. She wasn’t lying either, it wasn’t much of a hero thing to do to let her opponents have free shots at her, but behind the metal plating she was confident that her claim wouldn’t lead to a shattered ego, not against these lowlives for certain! The lowlives chattered amongst each other, real enough to come across as human beings rather than the bots they were, but despite them being ‘disposable machinery’, Johanna knew that wrecking them wasn’t going to be the right way to go about things. Like a hero, she had to protect lives, even the ones of scumbags… The first one would run at her and plant a boot on her shiny metallic armor, leaving a print but also leaving Johanna grinning confidently. The next one immediately came up and shattered a wooden baseball bat onto her back, with a ringing ‘ping’ echoing through the rainy night. They tried a few more moves to little effect, and all that distraction had allowed Johanna to plate up her baton and in one quick move she swiped the legs of the first two with a heavy laboured arc. ”How about you two sit down before you make mistakes you’ll regret!” she claimed, feeling all heroic and tough. Maybe style points weren’t part of the ratings, but she knew that demoralizing her opponents was very much a good tactic anyways. As she went through the first group, she made sure to leave them with minimal permanent damage but enough lumps to rethink their life choices… She only stopped when she bumped chest to chest with a goon that was twice as tall and thrice as wide as she was. ”So you’re the boss of this mob, right?”She smiled as she took a step back, digging in her heels and making clear that it was on the boss to try and topple her…

[attr="class","Farrin"] [attr="class","KC1"] [attr="class","FarrinBG"] [attr="class","FarrinTop"] [attr="class","FarrinContent"] With the five civilians safely removed from their mock-watery graves, all Farrin had to do now was run them to the designated safe zone. There was a smart way and a fast way to see them to safety. This was one of the rare occasions Farrin did not opt for fast. Well... faster.
"Alrighty, e'eryone I'll need yuh' ta' remain calm," he started with confidence, calming the two actors who were far more animated in voicing their concerns than their robotic counterparts. "I'll take yuh' two at o' time, but no worries, I'll keep yuh all safe. You two, step closer ta' me."
Two actors stepped forward, leaving one more along with the two robotic civilians. Another turn of the wrist and a five-meter wide, one-meter thick dome of temporal energy surrounded them. It wasn't some impregnable shield, but anything threat that came coming, armed with weapons or otherwise, would take quite some time pushing through the deceleration fields. That would buy him the time he needed.
"Right then, 'ere we go!"
"Whoa, whoa! A-are you sure?" One of the actors asked as Farrin picked the fella up and threw him over his shoulder.
"I promise yuh, lad, no harm will come ta' yuh'. I'm gettin' you n' the others all outta 'ere."
Without another word, he was off. At best speed, even the rain appeared to crawl down from the sky. The temporal dome would only hold for the predefined few seconds Farrin had established so there was no time to waste. It was just long enough for him to run the two actors to the safe zone near the entry gates and back. The dome fell just as he arrived. Farrin repeated the process, picking up the last actor and one of the robots while creating another dome around the last of his charges. After making his run twice more, he was ready to turn his attention to the others.
The winds continued to build, the rain-soaked his hair and clothes, and visibility slowly degraded as the storm grew worse. But, in the time-turner's eyes, all remained still. The building Prism had taken was free of the tree that had been smashed into its side. There was no signal to grab Farrin's attention either, so the odds were she had her situation handled. So, Farrin beamed off toward Johanna. If Miroru didn't meet up with them even after the coming fight, he'd go looking for her.
Ironclad was standing toe-to-toe with the largest of the crooks. Fella had height on her, which meant reach too, and he looked as though he'd taken a dip in an ink bath. Still, her quirk was built for a beating. He'd leave the big one to her for now. There were still a few smaller crooks trying to drag some robotic civilians away. That's where Oberon would start.
His entrance was marked by the immediate collapse of the thug dragging the civilian across the street. A quick kick to the back of the crook's knee staggered the fecker, then Farrin grabbed him by the shoulder and encouraged gravity with a rather firm shove. Farrin picked the civilian up and ran him into the closest secure building. Another burst of speed and he was on top of a second thug, chopping the opposition's arm aside with his left hand, then delivering a hard right into the crook's side. Not enough to break anything, but certainly enough to wind him. A sweep of the legs and he too fell. There weren't too many small fries left, but they'd have to work the big fella down if Ironclad couldn't manage it alone. He eyes their surroundings, deciding between backing her up or taking down the last few minions. After this, there was just whatever other surprises lied in wait, deeper in the storm taken city.

- Unforeseen Simulation Joint: Downpour - "Time to focus up, heroes!" The three prospective heroes were quick to attack the situations, both figuratively and literally, diving into the thick of the threats to save the civilians. Each hero could identify circular indicator attached to the shoulders of both the thugs and the civilians. The lights that shone from them could easily be inferred as being status indicators of their health, in the absence of truly being able to simulate such a thing with androids and actors. Green was an indicator of general well-being, of those who hadn't suffered from any life-threatening injury or trauma. They'd quickly dim to yellow if they got hurt or suffered some kind of injury that's result in damage to themselves. Orange displayed that they were actively crippled or disabled, the sort of thing that could happen after falling unconscious or breaking a limb. And they all could guess what the final color would be should they 'die', though thankfully red had not been seen yet. Many of the civilians Prism had saved with in the yellow status, either from getting hurt by the flames, inhaling the smoke and other gases that stemmed from them, or from debris from the building hitting them. They would need medical attention soon, but with her quick actions, they were safe, stable, and alive, for now. The office building provided immediate, if temporary shelter for them from the storm, and just in time too; part of the apartment structure began collapsing in on itself, as a result of the tree being suddenly dislodged, and the damage from being beaten by debris, winds, and weakened flames. Oberon encountered green lights, his quickness lending itself very well in the situation. None of the civilians had suffered from serious injury from the sinkhole, physically that is. The civilians were terrified and scared, however, even as he carried them to the safe zone. It was a different story for the one being actively attacked. Upon his assault, Oberon and Ironclad could immediately see that the civilian's indicator was a light orange, and quickly darkening. His timely intervention stopped this, and his follow up attacks on the two thugs would instead drop them into the orange, their forms unmoving in the state of unconsciousness. The same went for Ironclad, her opponents dropping down into heaps, breathing, bruised, but no worse for wear and alive. The remaining thugs, deterred from attempting further entry by the two's appearance, backed away towards the main one, whose body seemed to pulse and convulse in a thick, oily substance. " Leader? I'm just out for a stroll on this nice day!" Their voice was shrill and loud, like nails grating on a chalk board. " After all, I hear there isn't much sunlight deep down in Tarturus!" He'd suddenly reach out for Ironclad, a massive tendril of inky tentacles wrapping around her form, and throw her body sideways into one of the buildings, destroy the boarded-up glass display. The civilians within released shrieks of terror, while the villain laughed. " WELL WELL! LOOKS AT THAT! I BROKE OPEN THE PIGGY BANK! LETS SEE WHAT GOODIES ARE INSIDE!" With this he, and the other thugs now emboldened once more, began to march within the shopfront. Both Oberon and Prism would also both see another figure, appearing similar to the elite thug that had just thrown Ironclad, streaking over towards the office building that Prism had just left her rescues in for safety! " CAN'T LET BIG BRO HAVE ALL THE FUN! I NEED MY OWN LITTLE PIGGY TO CRACK OPEN!" His snarling voice carried over the wind, as he landed onto the roof of the office, and began slamming his red tendrils against the wall of it. " LITTLE PIGS, LITTLE PIG, LET ME IN! Department of Heroes Freshman
Miroru heard the gleeful roar and pivoted, her sudden stop leaving her skidding through the rain-choked streets. She narrowed her eyes and considered the terrain. The grassy lawn around the office, water-logged and soaked; the power lines draped across poles in between the buildings... she came up with a plan on the spot and sprinted back towards the office.
For those inside, terrified by the bashing and howls, the world outside went abruptly dark, leaving the office a little island of light in a world devoid of it.
"You really ought to brush up on your folklore." Miroru called out boldly as she loudly splashed through the lawn. "Proclaiming yourself the big bad wolf and hammering on a brick building?" The splashing stopped as she took cover behind one of the power poles. "Did you forget what happens to the wolf at the end of that encounter?"
By swamping the Sinner in darkness, she aimed to force them to use her voice to aim those brutal blows- and placed it behind a power pole. Alone and out of energy stores, Miroru didn't have the sheer power to knock the power pole down and give her access to the sheer output of a downed power line- but HE did, and Miroru had three things prepared in case he did as she expected.
First, she was ready on a hair trigger leap back to safety the moment he took her bait, to avoid getting nailed by his attacks.
Second, she was pre-prepared to corrall the electricity from a successfully downed line into a circular field around the Sinner, turning the water around him into a giant stun gun.
And the last thing she had prepared? The punchline.
"The pigs cook him for dinner."
This boi has D- awareness, so it seems pretty likely he'd forget there was a power line over there or never registered it at all. He's also got garbo dexterity, so it seems like his best bet is to flail in her direction, which is exactly what she wants, aiming to use her A- quirk to turn the diffused output of the power line into enough of a shock to stun the red Sinner unconscious or into surrender!

Perhaps Johanna had decided to bite a bit more off than she could chew, and as the ‘boss’ shot its tendrils towards her she did her best to dig herself in. Unexpectedly, though, all the weight on her body did nothing to stop them from picking her up and tossing her straight towards the building that was being used as a temporary shelter. The brickwork stood no chance against Johanna and the added weight of about five hundred kilograms of metal plating that surrounded her, almost leaving a comically shaped hole as she skidded along the ground and against the wall at the opposite end of the hall. ”I’m okay, thanks for asking…” she groaned a little. The armour had taken the damage as intended, but it still had taken the wind out of her sails a bit. Luckily Prism tagged herself in to have a crack at the brothers of destruction. Looking around at the frightened civilians she remembered what it was all about, and put on a brave face for them. ”Don’t worry, I’m a professional!” she’d smile. Well, technically she was in the process of hopefully getting accepted to train as a professional, but that would be both convoluted and very unheroic sounding for the situation. Having her feet back under her, she picked up her mace and made deliberate strides back into the fight.

[attr="class","Farrin"] [attr="class","KC1"] [attr="class","FarrinBG"] [attr="class","FarrinTop"] [attr="class","FarrinContent"] In a game of known versus unknown variables, at least in circumstances like those unfolding around him, Farrin opted for the known. What laid at the end of the Prism's rainbow was an unknown, but surely she had a plan worth its weight in the ol' pot of gold in store for the second of the inky duo. If she could manipulate electromagnetic waves and the like, that meant she could play with light - best explanation he had for her rainbow on demand. She was also talking some real shite back at the crimson clad fecker. Ironclad, however, had been tossed aside by the first of the duo. Known versus unknown. Prism was building up to something he didn't know. Ironclad appeared as though they could use some help. The decision made itself, but first he had to make a quick stop.
At chronokinetic speeds, Farrin swept the injured civilians robots and actors off the street and deposited them in a store about half a block down the street. He'd bring them to the secure zone after settling this scuffle. Another translucent deceleration zone would form around them, assuring any approaching threat would be slowed in its attempt to reach them, then he was gone.
"Aye, shitestain!" Farrin called out, beaming in on the darker of the thuggish duo. "Yer forgettin' someone!"
The warning might served as a distraction, and in Farrin's experience, most didn't have time to react, regardless of his taunts, so he continued straight for the Sinner's back, targeting it with the hammer that was his right fist. He was a wrecking ball at lambo speeds. If they could take the bigger threats down, the rest of the thugs be programmed to, or act as cowards. If not, he'd deal with them after.
