She watched in awe as she caught the tail end of Farrin and Toxin's fight. Even after inhaling gas he still persevered, talk about heroic spirit. She stopped reaching for her bat once he called attention to Dancer, who had already been knocked out too. ''I did?'' She had been so preoccupied with trying to stay one step ahead that she hadn't taken the time to look around in the present. Was it a side effect she was feeling from the speed boost? Not just that, but as it began to fade she could feel a little bit of nausea set in. The world around her was so much slower without it.

The squawk of the crows sent ice cold blood through her veins as she quickly grabbed her bat and got up into a sitting position. Another attack? If any more mini bosses came out of the floor surely that would spell the end for her and Farrin. She flinched when the crows came close, with no strength left to swing her weapon she cowered, but only for a moment until she realized it wasn't another attack. ''That's not fair!'' She protested alongside Farrin, pointing her bat up at the rooftops where the murder had come from.

''I was hoping you knew!'' She let go of her bat again and let herself fall onto her back too. ''Do you have any enemies, Farrin? It feels like it was a deliberate attack.'' Out of the two of them he was definitely the more noteworthy, and aside from that one incident involving The Spiders, she didn't exactly have a habit of going around and making enemies.

She rolled her head over to look at him. ''Everything hurts.'' She whined, like a city girl who had agreed to go on an exhaustive hike and was all tuckered out halfway through. ''I'll be fine, the school has an infirmary close by, right?'' It was this point she made the mistake to look down at the knives that were sticking out of her. ''Waaah! When did- my leg!'' Looking at the backs of her injured hands she could feel herself begin to hyperventilate, but she did her best to bring it under control. ''I-I'm okay Farrin I'll be fine! What about you, did you inhale anything bad? I could smell your opponent from all the way over here.''

eah, it was clear Freja wasn't doing well. Toxin's gas didn't appear to be truly poisonous. Farrin wasn't feeling any long-term effects, it just threw off during the actual fight. Effective, but not lethal by itself. Freja's enemy, however, had done a number on her. Farrin hadn't caught the guy's quirk in action, but his propensity for knives was clear.

Farrin pressed off the now-empty street, and stood his height, jogging over toward Freja the moment he knew he could. The snake symbol from that night with Zen flashed in his mind. Nearly every instance of his leaving campus had seen Farrin caught in a scrap, with unusually capable opposition too. Freja was right, more than she knew. 

"No enemies I could name, but yuh' might be onta' somethin," he said as he closed in on her. "I'll bring it up wit' Above n Beyond, that agency that's been watchin' out fer me out here. Fer' now, I'm gonna pick yuh' up n' run yuh' back ta campus. I'm all good. That gas was just playin hell on me throat n' lungs, but I dun' think it was actual poison. Also, dun' say a thing ta' Sada 'bout this." 

That last part was a joke - mostly. It wasn't as if Freja and Sada met, as far as Farrin knew, but Sada wouldn't appreciate him running other women around. Freja was a friend, though. A real friend, actually. But nobody could replace his Sada. 

Assuming Freja was okay with him doing so, Farrin would lift the girl up, and throw a temporal field around them. It wouldn't pack the speedy punch his previous fields had. He was still a little disoriented and quite fatigued, but it would get them back to campus faster than any emergency vehicle. 

"Hand on," he'd warn, then blast off toward campus. Yeah, Freja was definitely right, and his temporal senses agreed. These attacks weren't random. Someone was after him.

''I'd hate to be, but stuff like this is to be expected for heroes, right? Inevitably, we end up making enemies of a lot of bad people out there.'' She blinked her eyes as he mentioned running her back to campus. ''No it's fine I can walk-'' She insisted, but quickly learned she couldn't even sit up on her own, letting out lots of little ow ow ow's as she lowered her back down against the pavement. ''Th-That's a relief, for a second there I was really scared it was some bad stuff.'' She wasn't exactly knowledgeable about gasses, but seeing her friend choke on it in front of her, her imagination ran wild with how bad it could possibly be. ''Sada?'' It wasn't a name she had heard before. ''Don't worry, I won't say anything.'' She closed one eye and endured the pain as he picked her up. ''Sorry for the inconvenience..'' She still felt weak, having to be carried back to safety like this. When he told her to hang on, she didn't question him.

''Don't push yourself too hard, we can call a taxi too.'' Even though looking around them, she could have sworn they were going faster than any car could carry them. Of all the people she could have been ambushed with, Freja was actually happy that it was Farrin. Thanks to him they both escaped with a lot fewer injuries than they might have otherwise. She needed to think of a way to properly thank him in the future.

arrin nodded along before taking off. She certainly wasn't wrong. Enemies basically came with the whole hero territory, he just had expected it to happen so soon. He was a student still and had only really picked a few thugs off the street so far. What could he have done to piss off these deadlier individuals? "The snake people," he thought of them so far, on account of that snake symbol he saw the first time. 

"Yuv a few knives stickin outta yuh, lass. How 'bout yuh just let me handle it. I'd pull 'em out but they may be holdin back excessive bleedin," he started, "n' Sada me' girlfriend. Also attends UAU. We went ta' hero prep together. I'm just kiddin' though, I dun think she'd care given the circumstances." 

With that, they were off. Yeah, a cab might have been nice but then they would probably have to explain the multitude of bruises, bumps, and whole-arse knives in Freja's case, that they had suffered. Even fatigued, he would blitz any car through the city. Maybe on the open road, he would fall short in his current condition, but Tokyo was massive. As long as he didn't take a tumble, this was the better option. 

It wouldn't be long before the wooded expanse that cut UAU off from the rest of the city came into view. The university was built along the city's edge, as far from the hustle and bustle as possible, and with good reason. In Farrin's eyes, it was an oasis in the desert. The healers there were as good as any hospital. Heck, he could actually have Sada take care of them if need be. 

"Yuh did good, lass. Dun worry, we're almost home."

The thought that she might bleed even more if the knives were pulled out was enough to turn her face pale. ''R-Right it's like that isn't it? It's one of those movie myths where sometimes it's better to leave it in!'' It was clear that she was scared. Being a hero student entailed rescuing civilians and indeed, skirmishing with villains. They had been through several training exercises already, but there was really no way to prepare or train yourself for getting stabbed or being turned into a human knife-pincushion. ''O-Oh right, I see! I wouldn't want her getting the wrong idea.'' Freja blushed just the faintest bit out of embarrassment. The way she saw herself she was still a guy, so hanging out with Farrin in other words, it was just hanging out with one of your bros. She could easily see how their situation might be misconstrued.

She had never been happier to see the trees that separated UA from the city. This entire time she had been biting back the pain and trying not to whine and complain too much. Even though Farrin took great care and still managed to go at ridiculous speeds, every little bit of movement that rocked her also moved the knives, which only made it hurt more. ''All thanks to that temporal speed thing you did.'' She smirked, ''I don't know how it works, but it works.'' She was still convinced it had contributed to making her a lot more exhausted too, not that she minded. If anything, she couldn't wait to pass out in one of the infirmary beds and put this whole thing behind her. Hopefully it was the last the both of them would see of those weird crow people. ''Thanks for carrying me back, Farrin. I think I'm gonna go pass out now..''
