~ Twas 4 in the morning in the dormitory of U.A., and not a soul was stirring due to the carbon monoxide leak. ~Just kidding, everyone was asleep. Tap, tap, tap-That was, except for one person. Having woken especially early to move into his new home, Shion's footsteps were the only sound in the halls besides the non-stop humming of the electric lights which spotted the ceiling every few meters. As a former delivery boy for Ms. Li's pastry shop, he was used to waking up at around 5 in the morning so he could help the middle-aged woman set up shop for the day. An hours' worth of difference didn't affect him much. Then he remembered, this wasn't the place he used to be anymore. The old, yet comfy attic wasn't going to be his home to go back to after a long day's work anymore. The thought of it made him sad, but he quickly buried it with thoughts of what he'd experience from now onwards. ["I'm going to feel a little lonely for the first few weeks, but other people will surely come in to live with me by then!"]For some reason, probably because he didn't read the housing notice very well, Shion assumed that he was going to be alone for a while. But it wasn't all bad, he thought. There'd be more space for him to stretch around in, and a little privacy never hurt either. ["Well, no use waiting around. I'd better get used to it as fast as I can."]Reaching into his pocket, Shion took out the key to the room in front of him. Courtesy of the staff member responsible for approving his application. It was stuck smoothly into the keyhole, turned around a bit in both directions before there was a noticeable click.
Slowly, the doorknob on the inside would turn before the door began opening with a creeeeeeeak. If allowed, Shion would simply pull his large duffel bag in with him as he entered the room for the first time- not seeing the two inhabitants within due to only being at the doorway, but at the same time noticing that the room suspiciously smelled of human beings. "Huh, weird smell- maybe they just moved out?" He quietly said out loud, thinking he was alone. Jack Orion Kupo |

Kupo was a light sleeper, always had been. His heightened senses made it hard to not be one. At 4 o'clock in the morning, around the time Kupo would wake up normally on a training day, Kupo's sleep was even more fragile. So fragile that the mere click of the lock was enough to snap him into the world of the waking. Bleary-eyed and not yet fully lucid, the slow creeeeeeeak of the door was enough to trigger Kupo's fight, flight or freeze response. As his other senses kicked in, though, he calmed down a little. The weight of the smaller white fox who'd chosen to sleep on his chest for warmth and the softness of her fur were especially effective at this. Petting Opal, Kupo sat up slowly, bright green eyes opening in the dark that didn't impede them and scanning the dorm room for potential threats or intruders. The only person he saw, though, looked fairly harmless.
The light caught Kupo's snow-white hair & fur as he cocked his head to the side at this new presence, piping up in a sleepy voice. "H-hello? Who are you?" While he too appeared childlike and harmless, Kupo's fuzzy haze of attention was slowly focusing, and his muscles instinctively tensed in case he would need to defend himself or Jack. It'd be a little longer until Kupo's memory and common sense would fully engage and remind him of the fact that the unknown person in their dorm was most likely Shion Utsui, the new roommate on the notice they'd had a week in advance.
What Kupo could also hear was a stirring from the other side of the room, most likely either Lapis or Jack waking up. A new (and first) conscious thought passed his mind then, kicking the trained de-escalator into focus. Oh, it'd probably be bad if Lapis responded to this violently, what can I do about that? Putting Opal down gently, though not slowly enough to prevent her waking too, Kupo got up from his bed and took a couple steps towards Shion. His normal friendly demeanour took over then, tail swaying behind him. "Hi! Don't think we were expecting anyone this early?" His voice was just loud enough to carry over to Shion, not wanting to wake up anybody who was still asleep.

Jack was a heavy sleeper. Always had been. Granted, this was more or less due to the fact that whenever he was awake, it would be for at least a few days at a time, give or take. That's what having Chaos Energy in your body did to you, at least that's what all the tests said. That being said, this was during the quiet ends of one of these periods. The light snores of Jack could be heard quietly in his little corner, with the bigger shadow of Lapis cuddled up with him being more noticeable than anything else.
At the sound of a light click and creaking of their door opening, both Opal and Lapis would perk up instantly. The former yawning and sniffing at Kupo as he woke up as well, while the latter took a moment to actually wake up, looking around until locking his eyes on the new arrival at this late hour. A low growl would emit from the lynx, ever protective of his family. Opal would actually hear this first, locking eyes with her brother and yipping at him. That, and the vibrations of Lapis's noises were actually enough to wake Jack up, the dragon boy sitting up quickly and looking around. "WHOWHATWHERE-" he yelped, thinking they were actually in danger for a second.
His white, fluffy hair an absolute puffball of a mess, and light bags under his eyes, he would stretch and yawn when he realized there wasn't anything to worry about. He would pat Lapis on the back, clicking at him gently. The lynx would look at his owner, then back to the new intruder, before calming down somewhat. "Ay dios mio...gonna give someone a heart attack one of these days, y'know that?" he said, not really making it clear who he was talking to in this regard.
The dragon boy would hop out of his bed, only wearing a pair of pajamas with little foxes on them. Despite his small stature, his was relatively well-built for his size. His eyes still adjusting to the waking world, the shadow of a feminine-looking individual filling his view. "Ah...are you our new roommate? Sorry, didn't realize you were coming today...or this late. Get you anything? Coffee? Water?" he asked, shuffling over to their little counter to grab stuff, his head fluffy on the inside, too.

Shion blinked. Two of them. . . ?His eyes went from Kupo, to the pets, and then to Jack as he stepped out of bed. Absolutely pulling the equivalent of a blank sheet of paper in his mind- in fact, the two occupants could almost see the youth's pupils go white as he struggled to compute the fact that the room, in fact had people in it.Huh? This isn't right! There wasn't anything about guys already being in here!Though, the hindsight soon hit him like a truck hitting a toddler. The document actually had some printing on the back that Shion told himself he'd look at later- but inconveniently, his air-headedness had him make dinner that day instead of finishing things up."U-Uhhh. . ."He didn't quite know what to do- pulling out to think more about it was an option, but would that be worth throwing his first impression under the bus? No, he absolutely could wing this and come out looking okay!"Ah- sorry! Some guy told me that you'd be out or. . . something, so I thought I'd come early since no one'd be home! Haha!"Trudging across the floor while clearly looking tense from the outside, Shion pulled his clearly stuffed briefcase across the floor and rested it against one of the beds, bending down in front of Kupo since he seemed more approachable. Also, he wanted to stay away from whatever had growled at him seconds ago."So, what's your name lil' guy?"He asked, wearing a friendly face as one would with a child of Kupo's size, hands on their knees as they looked down at what seemed to be a harmless fluffball of an adolescent- though the reality he didn't know was that he was a legal adult.Despite his perfect Japanese, Shion's features aligned more with Caucasians than they did with the native population. His skin was rather white, and specks of freckles were on his thin nose and lower cheeks. And though the appearance was clearly feminine, his voice and physical structure made things appear to be more ambiguous in discerning gender.
