As he was about to follow through for the perfect finish to Mud’s night, an annoying voice rang out, stopping him.
Just great; Nobody likes being interrupted at work; Especially by some do-gooder who thinks they know how to do it better than you. And from the looks of his obnoxiously flashy red suit, this hero was here to do just that. “Oh please.” Yaguro snarled out, letting his tamer (in comparison) Searchlight persona drop for a minute, and let his disdain out on full display. “If you heroes actually did your jobs instead of playing Hollywood, guys like me wouldn’t have to be out on the streets cleaning up your slack.”
The lowly gang member, seeing his chance, used his quirk to literally spring out of Yaguro’s grasp, momentum suddenly bursting from his body and springing him free. Luckily for him, the vigilante had gotten everything he needed, and cared far more about his lecture than some punk, and didn’t break eye contact with Ryota as he continued. “I’ve heard of your little buddy club, the Maxima Agency; Your stupid outfit gives you right away. All you heroes are the same; You want to hog glory without actually doing anything to help the real issues. Who do you think is cracking down on the drug dealers, gangbangers and muggers while you’re out fighting giant crabs and shit?” While more than content to let out his pent up anger, Yaguro was laser focused on his new goal; Teaching this showboat a lesson. “If the government passed free quirk usage, guys like that wouldn’t be a problem; But you’d rather keep the status quo, wouldn’t you?” Slowly, Yaguro started to reach his right hand into his pocket, while approaching Vox. “The Eight-Os are just one of the many gangs that’s been flooding the streets, shaking down civilians erratically and tossing any substance they can at whoever will buy. You really want to be a hero? You’d round up your crew and come with us to their warehouse, shut them down hard.” While it may have seemed like a genuine offer, Yaguro already knew the hero wasn’t going to take it; Trusting heroes got him thrown in jail once, he wasn’t going to let it happen again. He’d wait a second or two for an answer, but only to add to the faux authenticity; After that, it didn’t matter how the guy answered; Gripping the handle of the gun in his pocket, Searchlight would pull out his SIG Sauer P320, point it right at Vox’s chest, and start pulling the trigger, while simultaneously moving back to get distance.
“Girl, get to cover, and get me some angles!” Yaguro knew that this wouldn’t kill the flashy hero; As much as he wanted to, killing him wasn’t worth it, but maybe leaving him with a hospital bills would teach him a lesson. After emptying his clip, Yaguro would toss his handgun aside, and get his metallic baseball out from its sling. “You’re just another symptom of the virus plaguing Japan; Happy to drink out of the bowl your masters put in front of you. I doubt I can open your eyes to the truth, but I can sure as hell make them swell shut!” Charging at Vox, Yaguro would attempt to slam his bat right into the hero’s helmet.

Another night of shaking down criminals; The sweet ballet of blood and beatings.
Yaguro was more than used to it by now, but his young partner, Carmen, was still getting used to the whole thing. For starters, Yaguro learned she didn’t even have any sort of alibi, or even a job; Something he quickly rectified by getting her a position at the same convenience store he worked out.
It took plenty of convincing for his boss to bring her on, and even more for him to watch over her pair of ferrets; Their excuse was that there wasn’t anywhere else for the furry creatures to stay, and thankfully his employer bought it.
The next questionable decision Yaguro had helped her fix was to get her a costume; Something to actually hide her identity so she wouldn’t face retaliation. Simple dark black clothes, a hood and a mask were plenty to do the job.
A quick stop to drop her pets off, and they had already hit the streets, and were currently in the middle of delicately extracting information from a kindly gang member, who was polite enough to have a pleasant conversation with the duo.
“Please man, I’ve already told you everything I know!”
A brass knuckle laden fist flew past the gang member, who was dressed in a black leather jacket and jeans, and adorned with piercings all over his face. Landing in the brick wall behind him, Yaguro pulled his fist back.
“See, so far he’s only answered with stuff like ‘I don’t know’, or ‘I’m not high up enough to know that’. That means he’s more loyal to his boss than he is afraid of us.”
The lucky gang member was a member of the Eight-O’s. Small fish in a big pond, mostly unruly teens who just wanted to cause trouble for others.
“Are you fucking kidding me? What am I, a training exercise?” The gangster asked, offended that the helmeted vigilante wasn’t even paying attention to him, despite being in his clutches.
“Shut the hell up Mud.” Yaguro quickly shot back, pressing the thug further against the wall.
“Gangs like this think they’re all tight nit buddies, that if they’re in trouble, their crew will come bail them out.” Yaguro sounded like the world’s grittiest college professor, locking eyes with Mud as he continued to talk to Carmen.
“But I don’t see anyone coming to save you, Mud.”
Mud gulped in fear, sweat already pouring down his brow. He looked around the dark alley, almost as if he expected some of the other members of his crew to miraculously appear.
“Yeah, well you wouldn’t get it cause you’re some fuckin reject loser who isn’t even tough enough to become a hero…”
This earned him a swift gut punch as a reward.
“You’ll wish I was a hero by the time I’m done with you. Or have you forgotten what steel tastes like?” Raising his free fist up to Mud’s mouth, he reeled back, ready to punch at a moments notice.
“Fine! Fine! Cue Ball doesn’t hang at Urchin Lair anymore, I think everyones having a get together at a warehouse across town, but that’s really all I know!”
Yaguro sighed, finally content with his answer.
“See? You need to let fear set in. Whaddya think, should I tap him out?” He asked Carmen, letting her look into Mud’s fearful eyes and having her decide the fate of the guys teeth.

The mismatch couldn’t be more apparent; Rayder had him completely outclassed; It was like a soldier fighting a school bully. “I give, I give!” Yaguro pleaded, struggling in vein to get himself free. Assuming Rayder released him, the punk sighed, rubbing his arm. “Yeah, guess I need to get some training then, huh?” He asked, starting to gather up the weapons he’d brought. “Still…This was a fun time. Sometimes you just need to fire off a couple rounds to relieve some stress, right?” Throwing the duffle bag over his shoulder, he started heading in the direction of home. It was a bit of a walk, but that was half the exercise. “Next time we take on a gang, I’ll let you do more of the heavy lifting then, how about it big guy?” Yaguro asked with a smirk. “You really got strength to boot.” Walking off, the vigilante’s smirk faded away. Was this really how big the gap between the two of them was? He looked like an amateur and felt like a fool…All the more reason to train harder. Even if Rayder did have a few feet and several more years of training on him, he couldn’t just let him dominate their partnership…

“Wait, you didn’t say anything about projectiles!” Yaguro protested as he blocked himself from the rocks. Before he could protest further he was being pelted with bits of stone, and while they only stung more than anything, it was plenty distraction for Rayder to grab him, and slam him to the ground. Now on the dirt below, Yaguro was already winded, and regretting his decision. Still, he could at least try to get a few good hits in. Getting up just enough to get his bearings, he’d try a kick, swiping at Rayder’s real leg, trying to kick him off balance. If it succeeded, he'd try to get up fully off the ground, and land a couple of punches right in the giant's stomach.

“I haven’t killed anyone. Yet.” Yaguro stated. Not like he wasn’t planning to, though. The Thunderbolts, among others, had to pay. “Willing to though. And I’m not going to become some psychotic monster in the process, either. I have more restraint than that.” The punk almost felt a bit offended to be compared to serial killers and the like; Those guys were just born crazy. And he wasn’t some fanatic either; He wasn’t just going to kill every single person that crossed him; Only the ones who needed to die.
Looking at Rayder’s next message, he almost regretted asking him to spar. “Look, just go easy on me alright? I don’t mind if you hit hard, just don’t cripple me or anything like that. This is more to practice our moves, not to seriously hurt each other. Lord knows how hard you hit…” Getting into a combat position, Yaguro prepared a defensive stance, getting ready for anything Rayder would throw at him. “I’ll let you start us off, if you want.” The vigilante was ready; As soon as Rayder got into his stance, he’d analyze it, trying to see where the giant would strike from, and how best to counter it. He didn’t dare make the first move, rather, he would let Rayder throw a fist, a leg, or anything in between, and counter it, then move in to immobilize him.

“I guess it would be a little odd not having your real leg…Still, I’m curious as to how strong it is. Bet you can kick your wall through a brick wall.” Yaguro couldn’t help but feel slightly envious as he thought of the possibilities robot limbs could offer. He wasn’t about to go through the pain of getting rid of a limb; Even if he did have access to that kind of tech.
“That’s why we have to push the world towards a better future for all of us; Its not going to move without giving it plenty of force. If that force requires killing…I mean, its not like I’m going out looking for kills, but if the situation calls for it…” So, it was action he wanted, huh? Yaguro paused and thought for a minute. Hitting targets was fine enough, but he hadn’t had much real, one on one training in a while. “Well, if you want we can spar; Hand to hand combat, no weapons.” The vigilante offered, getting his arms stretched and warmed up. “You seem like a real pro with weapons, and I’m guessing that weaponless combat comes with the territory you were trained in, right?” Eyeing his partner up, he started to wonder what the extent of Rayder’s training was. He’d done his research on the guy, but hadn’t dug up a whole lot on his past. Was he ex military or special forces? Would fit how well he handles his guns. Maybe some kind of cult trained him, and he defected? Who knew. If nothing else, he could figure out his fighting style.
"Just don't hit me too hard with that leg."

“Relax.” Yaguro snorted out, unconcerned with his partners warning. “The dirty moves are saved for the bad guys. We’re not heroes, we’re not going to coddle criminals like they do.”
The only thing Yaguro got out of Rayder’s speech on killing was that Rayder was more of a ‘big picture’ guy. Don’t cut off the hydra’s head, find a way to turn it to stone and all that.
“Your marking shtick is pretty unique, I’ll give you that. I admit it is odd that you don’t take any pleasure at all in carving them up.” Walking to the weapon pile, Yaguro grabbed one of his handguns, a Beretta, and picked out a tree target. Waiting to watch Rayder try out the explosive ordinance he’d been handed, he grinned in delight as he watched the unfortunate washing machine go up in flames. There was a beauty to the destruction of it all. Even more impressive was his footwork on the machine, leaving it as nothing more than a ball of destruction.
Unloading a couple rounds onto the tree, the vigilante was distracted as Rayder starting to remove…His leg? It became quickly apparent that the leg was a prosthetic, which made his actions all the more remarkable. “Damn, I didn’t know. Is it some kind of superpowered leg?” He asked, genuinely curious as to whether or not it had any tune ups. Unloading the rest of his clip onto the tree, he slid the magazine out of the gun. “And I get where you’re coming from, I do. The scum of Japan are like roaches; Smash one, five more crawl out to feast on the corpse. Your approach is good, but only because of the society we live in. Imagine if they gave us free reign to use our quirks as we pleased.” Reaching into his pocket, Yaguro unfolded a compact combat knife, and tossed into right into the bullseye of a nearby tree. “Roaches can’t keep crawling out if they’re extinct.”

“Playing dirty in our line of work is justified.” Yaguro reasoned, completely sure of himself. “We don’t have the luxury of the law on our side; If you have to go for a cheap shot, I say do it. Who’s gonna get mad, the criminals?” To him, at least, it was a sturdy line of thought. Who the hell cared about fighting honorably, so long as you won? “Yeah, the only reason you don’t want to play the game is because you’ll lose.” Yaguro stated, crossing his arms as the giant started to show off.
Though, watching how skillfully Rayder tossed the bombs, he started to think maybe if they were to play a game, it’d be his loss. Catching the French firepower in his arms, the vigilante looked over the weapon; It wasn’t often he got to wield a gun of this caliber, usually having to stick with smaller firearms. Checking his phone quickly, he flicked off the weapon’s safety. “I guess I’m fine just shooting stuff, especially since I get to use your shiny toys.” Lining up his sights, Yaguro unloaded on one of the washing machines, riddling it with bullets, each one landing with a THUNK on the side of the discarded machine. “Ok now THAT felt good.” After the round was emptied, the punk took a minute to inhale the smoke from the barrel of the gun; Pure satisfaction.
“I got to play with your stuff, so I guess its fair I let you play with some of my best.” Walking over to the weapons, he motioned to the rocket launcher. “Go ahead, try it out; I know a guy I can get more ammo from.”

The punk was just a bit impressed at first with the build of the knife his friend pulled out, but that turned to pure awe as he saw what it could do. “Ok, you’re making one of those for me.” He stated bluntly as he looked at the shattered watermelon remains and wondered how well it would work on a human.
As Yaguro had expected, Rayder was a savant with all types of weapons, the bow included. Just as he lined up his sights to hit the giant’s arrow, something unexpected happened; Somehow, Rayder saw his gun drawn, like he had eyes in the back of his head. Before he could react, Yaguro was on the ground, and needing to explain himself. “Hey, look, look, you really think I’d shoot you? Was just going to shoot your arrow out of midair, ok? It would’ve looked cool.” As a show of good faith, he flipped the gun over, holding it for Rayder to take.
Whether or not he took it was up to him. In any case, Yaguro picked himself up, and moseyed back to the weaponry. “Come on….You want to see if the stuff I got off the black market is good or not?” He asked, trying to sound casual as he picked an armful of pipe bombs off the ground. “I saved some good stuff to use it on…” Walking over to a patch of shrubbery while trying to keep his bundle of bombs from falling, he moved aside some staged greenery to reveal a few old washing machines. Walking to a safe distance away and motioning for Rayder to follow, he kicked another hiding spot, causing more foliage to fall and reveal a couple rusty, beaten up dryers. “Whaddya say? Want to blow some shit up?” He asked, already lighting a pipe bomb. Picking his target, he threw the ignited grenade at a dryer with its lid open; It circled around the rim a bit, before finally sliding in with a CLANG. After about a second, fireworks. The front of the dryer was blown clean off, smoke coming out the inside. “Your turn.” Yaguro smirked, holding a pipe bomb out for Rayder. “If you miss this, you get an H.” He was referring to the game of H-O-R-S-E, but didn’t know or care if his partner got that.

Yaguro was flabbergasted at Rayder’s incredible aim; Part of him was impressed, but a larger part of him was frustrated. “Show off.” He scoffed out, watching as the taller man examined his weapon collection. Hearing his phone buzz, he checked it to see a text from Rayder perfectly describing each weapon, before sending another message where he correctly guessed Yaguro’s method of storage.
“I have done weapon mods.” Reaching down, he grabbed his shotgun. “Sawed this one off for portability and accuracy.” Wanting to both demonstrate and show off, he pointed the weapon behind himself and fired, most of the shells hitting directly on a marked tree.
The kickback from holding the gun wrong hurt a bit, but it was worth it. “As you can see, its effective.” Thinking on Rayder’s other question, Yaguro realized he hadn’t put much thought into making his explosives. “I dunno what goes into those bombs. I buy kits from a guy, put them together, and they work.” Emptying the shells from his shotgun, he tossed it back on the pile, and grabbed a P320 handgun. Loading it with a clip, he was about to grab the other to toss to Rayder when a devious thought crossed his mind. Lifting up one of the compound bows with his foot, he kicked it to his partner. “You’re probably good enough to hit the same targets as me with a handicap, right?” He taunted. Aiming down his sights, Yaguro quickly and effectively unloaded a single bullet into five different trees, hitting a bullseye each time; All five targets a fair distance away. If Rayder wanted to hit each with a bow, he’d need insane accuracy. Also, the fact that Yaguro was planning to prank the giant by shooting his final arrow out of midair, should he hit each of his other targets.

Looking at the message from Rayder, Yaguro briefly wondered what his partner could mean by misinterpreting his message. Then he burst out laughing, quickly remembering the man’s personal life, and how his message could’ve been interpreted. Oh well, more fuel to his affair excuse, should it come to that. The punk just sent a quick thumbs up as a reply and reached into his bag once again, rusting around before finding a shaky bottle, eager to be used…
Upon Rayder’s arrival, it was clear the giant was confused. “Look, I know we got off on the wrong foot last time; That was on me. So…This is my way of trying to make up for it.”
Pointing out some of the trees, Rayder would be able to see that many of them were marked with targets, hastily spray painted on. “Now, before you just call me an idiot and leave, just give this a shot. You wouldn’t believe how much of a stress reliever it is. Just try out a few of the weapons here, and if you don’t like it, you can go.” Gazing over his arsenal, Yaguro picked out a hatchet he’d had his eye on; The urge to throw it had been overwhelming, but he had managed to restrain himself from having fun before his partner arrived. Picking the hatchet up, he took aim at a tree, and gave it a toss, hitting the edge of the self made target. “I come out here a lot to get practice in, and just relax.” He stated, letting another axe fly, this one hitting a little closer to the center. “It’s a hell of a time.” Grabbing one more hatchet, Yaguro threw it, this time hitting his target dead on. “You wanna throw three, see if you can beat my ‘score’?” He asked nonchalantly, already thinking about what weapon to try next.
He'd never been part of a team before, and hardly ever in partnerships, so teambuilding was new to him; The only thing he could think to do was share his favorite activity, and hope they would bond over it.
