A slight twitch of his eye was all Sumi would get from the hero student when his blood was drawn. While it was true that their department was known for its brutal simulations meant to prepare them for their introduction to the real world as heroes, it wasn't like it improved Elijah's pain tolerance. His quirk didn't give him diamond skin. He was still human. He still got hurt. At least it was just a simple needle. He carefully put his jacket back on once the support student was finished. "It's fine." He knew what she was doing anyway. A warning would've been redundant. Elijah raised a brow at the estimate however, wondering how a free schedule could cut down the work from one week to two days. Was she usually very busy and he happened to catch her at a good time? He decided not to ask, schooling his expression and nodding instead. "I'll be back in two days then. Let me know if something unexpected comes up, you have my number."Tucking a hand in his pocket, he turned and made his way to the elevator that would inevitably carry him to the first floor and therefore the exit. As Elijah left, he raised his other hand farewell without looking behind him. "See you soon."Sumi Okita

As far as he knows, he's already been on the bad side of so many people that angering more doesn't make a difference to him. All he cares about is righting the wrong he's done by becoming a hero. To save people instead of repeat what he'd done so many years ago. If he makes friends on the way, great. If he makes enemies, also great. It doesn't matter to him either way.
In general he starts off respectful enough, and can even stay that way depending, but it can go away at a drop of a hat due to his ignoring of people's grievances with him. His entire right arm up to the shoulder is a prosthetic. Lost at an early age and replaced multiple times as he grew, its current iteration is complex enough for him to maneuver it like his left, letting him curl his fingers and grip things without difficulty.
Beyond the artificial aspects of his body, Elijah is a boy with a lean, athletic build, skin tanned and face full of freckles due to a combination of genetics and his time in the sun. His hair is twisted into dreads and often tied back so they don't get in the way of his face.
The clothes he wears are baggy and unassuming; he often opts for hoodies over a simple tee or tank top and cargo pants. A cliché reason for wanting to be a hero, but it's a reason all the same.
Let me make something clear. I don't care if, officially, my family's deaths were an accident. Nor the fact that the injuries my neighbours sustained were fully healed by this point.
I don't remember any of it, but I was told three houses burned down when I came to in the hospital as the sole survivor of my home. Several people told me it wasn't my fault; that I was too young to realize the item I was found with was used for. Others told me I should've joined my arm in hell instead of run away like I did. In either case, both sides and I agreed on the same thing.
The item in my hand was a lighter. I started the fire.
Unsurprisingly, it wasn't the best thing to have listed on a foster kid's resumé. I was passed from home to home, deemed too problematic to care for. I would apparently be in possession of knives even if they've been locked away, or have this urge to tilt a candle so the flame touched something despite what happened.
I was adopted eventually. A retired hero took me in and raised me as if I was his own. I took an interest in the work he did before he hung his cape, so after some convincing I got him to train me. Several years have passed and he told me UAU was how I would further grow in the field. So I'm here. Hey.
And don't ask me to use my Quirk.
As far as anyone knows, I don't have one.[/div] [div][attr="class","eli-row"][div][attr="class","eli-content"][div][attr="class","eli-title"][span]Quirk[/span][i][attr="class","fa fa-step-forward"][/i][/div] [b]Meld[/b] Transformation - D

Elijah's attention was pulled away from the sprinklers to the older student. The furrowed brow remained as the other spoke, because honestly- What the hell was this guy talking about? He'd been going on about a staff person coming in to give Elijah due punishment for what he'd done for a while now, but now he was threatening to make it look worse for him? With the alternative being him erasing his crime altogether? And why was he still not concerned about the second fire? Unless... Ah. The condition. He understood now. Well, understood Gen's true intentions with the whole thing that is. Why the sophomore had to go through such drastic measures was still up in the air. Maybe that was why the other students were so afraid of him. Because they couldn't figure that part out either. Elijah glanced down at the offered hand and blinked one. Twice. Then he looked up at the other student's face and spoke. "You could've just asked. I would've been fine with moving."He let the thought sink in before he continued. "But instead you turned your room into a landfill, set your own clothes on fire after I put out the first one, and would risk your credibility with a renowned university for a mistake I would own up to, even though my expulsion would give you what you want regardless. Which I assume is a room to yourself, as I doubt you knew who I was to make this a first-time affair." All was said in monotone, as if he were reading off a grocery list instead of a list of things Gen would do to secure his solitude. Elijah took a deep breath, eyes shut as a headache formed. Exhaustion from the exam followed shortly by this fiasco was taking a toll on him. He opened them again when he heard steps coming closer instead of away. "Your confidence in your seniority makes it so my choice doesn't matter in the end, so feel free to do what you want."The freshman turned away from the hand, facing whatever faculty would greet them as he silently accepted his fate. "Good luck getting rid of your next roommate."Kurokami Gen

Truth be told, Elijah didn't want to be here. Amusement parks where people screamed on fast rides and crowd around each other to watch a show just wasn't his scene. Even though the place was promised to be as safe as it could be, the freshman despised his attention getting shot by all the noise. Especially when he didn't believe a place where wanted criminals could walk around freely was considered safe. But he was in Dream World anyway because his father wanted him to be. Something, something, you should have fun Eli! I'm not joining you so you could hang out with your friends! No matter how much Elijah argued he didn't have any, the elder man refused to believe him. So here he was, arms crossed on a fence, having a staring contest with one of the sheep in the petting zoo he ended up outside of. The sheep walked away. It was a win for him as far as he was concerned. Elijah tuned out his surroundings so much though that he only blinked when his name was mentioned, not even registering the poke. He turned to the source, brows raising in recognition. "Oh, Hall. Hey." It was a face he was more familiar with than most anyone else in the university at least. The freshman hummed at the questions. He wasn't planning on going in but he was told to 'have fun'. Maybe this would count and he could go home once he's done. "Sure. I need a witness for when my dad doesn't believe I came here."With that totally enthusiastic acceptance, Elijah leaned away from the fence and tucked his hands in his pockets before walking to the entrance, unaware of the looming threat they were about to expose themselves to. "Where are your friends? I can't be the only person you recognize here."Emilia Hall

As the alarm rang over the duo's heads, Elijah sighed. His role in this fiasco was finished. He did what he could, nothing more, nothing less. Unlike the usual irrational student who would continuously work on a problem to no avail, the freshman knew his limitations. His Quirk wasn't useful in the situation, so naturally, it was up to someone more fit to deal with the strange fire. And here they come. Irrational student or someone more fit, Elijah couldn't tell, but a whole group of them made their way down the hall in hopes of putting out the flames themselves. Maybe one of them could generate water that was different from regular water? Hell if he knew. What struck him as odd however was that all of them stopped in their tracks, stared at the guy he was still holding the shirt of and turned around with metaphorical tails between their legs. Elijah couldn't help but comment at the strange turn of events while he stared at Gen as well. "They walked away when they saw you." He squinted. Just what kind of reputation did this guy have? In any case he didn't seem to want to follow evacuation protocol with the way he pulled away from Elijah's grip. With a huff, he let him do so. "What's there to fix? It's a fire. Unless you have a way to extinguish it?" He doubted it. Gen didn't even do anything while his clothes were burning in front of him. Finding they couldn't do much else other than wait, Elijah tucked his hands in his pockets and looked to the ceiling, doing his best to tune out the noise of the alarm. He tilted his head at the other student's further accusations. He never runs out of things to say, the freshman will give him that. "I started the first fire, not the second. The second one was unnatural." Hadn't he said that already? Maybe the guy really was hard of hearing. As the sophomore spoke, Elijah stared at one of the sprinklers with a furrowed brow. "The sprinklers never triggered by the way."So much for thirty seconds.Kurokami Gen

Elijah should've known that he wouldn't be some exception to the other student's mistreatment of others. Maybe he should've just accepted the initial nickname. At least it was a usual one compared to whatever the guy came up with. Too late for that now he supposed; any further refusal would just result in further butchering. Maybe it would reach a point where it didn't use the letters in his name at all. He sighed, his face blank. "Sinclaire is fine." At least he didn't have to use the first option. After their instructor explained the nature of their spar, Elijah turned to him. "And what of those who are Quirkless?""Their criteria would be different, but that won't apply to either of you. Right Hawthorne?" He then stared pointedly at the student. Elijah stared back. The instructor raised a brow. Elijah rolled his eyes. Typical. Looking back at his opponent, he squinted at the stance. For someone who slacked off, Sebastian had some discipline to him, at least when it came to combat. Elijah had never been one to underestimate even the worst of people but this fact gave him even more reason not to do so. The guy was also telling him not to hold back. That reminded him of a hero who made the exact same request. Incidentally, the freshman's response would only change slightly as he couldn't act before the signal that would start the match. "Sure," he answered simply, and instead of throwing daggers straight away, Elijah drew both his kukri and prepared a stance of his own. Now all they had to do was wait. And hope Sebastian wasn't unlucky enough for things to get messy. Sebastian Sinclaire

The goose actually got itself stuck in a tree. Elijah took a moment to really acknowledge that; to look at the bird and confirm that, indeed, some of its heads were lodged in the trunk while the rest honked at him. He lowered his arms with furrowed brows, unsure of what to do with this turn of events. He could leave, first off. The threat was subdued if temporarily. It meant he had a chance to escape; really put some distance between himself and the strange creature. But it also meant the bird was vulnerable. Menacing as it was, even geese had its predators, and surely they would see a trapped fowl as an opportunity for an easy meal. Not to mention the fact it may never be able to free itself, meaning it could starve to death. And while Elijah understood the circle of life, he also knew that humans should not tamper with that cycle. The student sighed. He should get it out. Pocketing his granola bar, Elijah pointed his prosthetic at a tree branch away from the bird before launching a grappling hook at it, zipping himself towards the tree to get some distance from the fowl. He needed it for what he was about to do next. Once he was situated on the branch, he pointed his arm at the goose next, firing his hook again so it grasped one of the bird's many necks. Only then would he maneuver himself so the wire wrapped around the trunk for additional leverage before he tried to pull it out with a quick yank. Here's hoping he won't die because he unleashed the beast. Goose

Soul touching. Elijah expected the kind of poetic description of what they've done from the musician, but it didn't change how cliché it sounded to his ears. Fires alit in people's hearts. Lifting their spirits with their symphony. As if they did what they did for more than just to earn their pay. Well. Dante did, certainly. He brought his guitar on a whim when he noticed the student play. But did Elijah? It was hard to tell, now. He eyed the man when he groaned, curious as to what he was thinking. Did he have more to say on the matter? Didn't seem to when he picked up his gear and was on his way out. Elijah nodded once in response to the salute, tilting his head afterwards. "See you." Would he? They were strangers in the end, happening upon each other only because of their mutual interest in music. He supposed it didn't matter now. The freshman packed his bass as Dante drove away, having to pause multiple times before he closed his case so the crowd was able to throw more money in it. And there was quite a bit of it; much more than what he would've made on his own. He was eventually able to walk away, hollers and whistles sounding off his departure as he boarded the bus back to the campus. Elijah wondered briefly if his next venture was ever going to be as eventful as this one. Dante

Despite the grating edge Gen's voice had, Elijah answered the student's questions with nonchalance as he dragged him into the hall, his eyes searching along the walls. "Unfortunately, I'm Quebecois. And customs was not allowed to ask me to remove my prosthetic." Something, something, had to respect the amputees. At least that was what his father told him when he asked why he was told not to take off his arm. A logical mind such as his pinned it as an obvious place to hide contraband. But he was let through with it on. He didn't have anything illegal back then, but it was one of those scenarios of what if he did?"It is not your room, it is the university's. You stay there so long as you are enrolled." His eyes were still scanning for something. "The hydrant wasn't sufficient in putting out the fire, meaning it wasn't natural. Someone else created it. So frankly-" A familiar shade of red entered his vision. His free hand reached for the fire alarm. "20 seconds isn't fast enough."He pulled. Kurokami Gen

There were other rules to follow when one was facing an aggressive goose. Like remain calm. Slowly back away from its turf. Grab it by the neck and leg it once you toss it away. But as Elijah watched the fowl adjust its flight path for a second assault, he wondered if these rules still applied when the bird was doing a spin attack of all things. Probably not. But he had nothing else in mind with how to deal with this situation, so rules continued to be adhered to. The freshman dove to the side again before he stood, eyes still on the goose as he remained calm and took several steps backwards. His focus was now split, with one part of it watching the bird while the other attempted to ensure he didn't step on something that would make the problem even worse. One of his hands still held the granola bar. He should throw it. But he wasn't one to litter or feed the wildlife. Goose

0.5% margin of error on an appendage made wholly of flora? Even Elijah was surprised by that. One would think that something so advanced would have a higher likelihood of things going wrong. "Impressive odds." There was the unprompted compliment after all. He didn't think compatibility was required in getting the arm to work, but the thought of it only being usable on him was a good one. With its ability to change size, it'd be more likely for it to be used against him than his regular prosthetic. Less unwieldy. Though the chance of rejection made him wonder about how the margin of error was so low, he trusted her judgement. Sumi was the expert here. Elijah finally turned to look at the syringe. A sign escaped him. "Alright." He removed his hands from his pockets before pulling off his hoodie, revealing a sleeveless shirt and the prosthetic he's always had. Since she needed DNA though, he turned his body so his real shoulder was facing her. "How long would it take for this arm to be made?"Sumi Okita

This guy seemed fond of getting a rise out of people. Elijah's seen it before. The sneers. The accusations. The name-calling. It's just a shame that he was trying to anger someone who was used to shouldering the blame in everything he did. Instead of regretting his decisions, he simply accepted whatever consequence that came from them. Which included said taunting. The burst of flames made his eyes widen slightly though. It was impossible. Unexpected. The freshman stepped back and pointed his extinguisher at it before firing again, but this time the embers showed no signs of dying down despite the pressurized air blown against it. His first thought went to Gen as the one responsible but that couldn't be. He didn't seem the type to risk getting kicked out to prove a point. No, someone's infiltrated the campus and was on the attack. He sighed through his nose before covering it with his shirt in an attempt to mask the smell. By the way his coughs sounded, it wasn't working. "There's bigger things to worry about than water and expulsion." And given that Gen made no move to do... anything really, it was up to him to get them both out of this situation. He dropped his useless extinguisher on the ground. And with the suddenness of a viper striking its prey, Elijah reached out to grab the sophomore by his shirt and hauled him towards the door, his prosthetic not letting up in its grip on the other hero student. And there was the electric guitar solo, right on cue. Elijah lowered his bass and let himself listen to Dante play. It was loud, which was expected, but the skill was still there. The man knew what he was doing with the way he strummed like it was second-nature, drawing more cheers from the crowd as he did so. It only got louder when they reached the end of their song. The cries and yelling made the freshman duck his head low, not used to the level of excitement his playing brought. Well. Their playing brought. He couldn't deny that half of the accomplishment was because of Dante, if not more than. The clapping he heard right by his ear only confused him. Elijah turned his head, eyeing the man's hands as they made the affirming movement. It took a while for him to register the compliment, prompting him to blink before speaking in a low voice only the American would hear. "Thank you. You were good too."He faced the crowd again. "I've never seen this many people be this involved."Dante
