''Something like that, huh?'' He didn't know anything about the interconnectedness of equipment and quirks. All he knew was that his equipment, the prosthetic arm that had been made for him, was all that kept his quirk from killing him in a matter of seconds. ''Sure.'' He picked the wrist wraps up, looking at them like he had never seen technology before. ''Like this?'' He finished with the headpiece, feeling like he had wandered right into some kind of sci-fi story where they always test people with those fancy technology knickknacks.

''Explain?'' He crossed his arms as he wracked his brain. ''I guess I'm not really used to talking about my quirk, but I can give it a shot. It's not super complicated Miss Iphigenia.'' He held out his prosthetic arm and on command, he lit it up with a burst of flames. He couldn't sustain it, as each time it lit up it only lasted for about a second or two. ''In short, I can create fire from anywhere on my body. However... If I do it from anywhere but this arm that was made for me, I'll die.'' There was a finality to his words, but he was still smiling as he looked over his own arm.

''That's how I originally lost it. My quirk manifested late, only about five years ago. I don't exactly remember why, but I was angry about something, I felt like the whole world was against me so I went to punch the nearest wall. Before my fist could connect, it had combusted and turned to ash.''

He looked back towards Iphi, or whichever screen or camera he thought she might be watching from. ''As you can probably imagine, I'm not one of those types who uses his quirk all too often. If anything, the arm is just a failsafe. I use it more like a regular arm in my day to day than anything else.''

Iphigenia Pavlina

The distorted laugh was a disturbing one, unlike anything he had heard before. There was something distinctly non-human about it, like he was fighting some kind of creature, maybe a cryptid? Some kind of electric ghost man perhaps? ''What... Are you?'' He was equal parts terrified and morbidly curious. Never before had Eiji exchanged punches with someone and have the other person get all glitchy. It was most likely a quirk that was at play, but there was no way it was as straightforward as his own power. ''H-Hey you can't do that!'' He protested, pointing a finger at Taro. ''That's cheating!'' What did he mean by that, come back? Hell no he wasn't about to get haunted by a blue, electric, poltergeist quirk.

''Me? I'm just getting started!'' He shouted out, feeling the last of his energy leave his lungs as he panted, and then eventually fell onto his back after landing that kick against Taro. All he could do was focus on taking deep breaths to try and relax himself as he could feel his body heating up from his quirk use. Eventually, he spoke up. ''How about a... Like a quick break? Just a few minutes.'' Even keeping his eyes open was exhausting. He could afford to close them for a couple minutes, right? ''You really are a ghost, aren't you? What's your name? If you come back to haunt me, be prepared for another fight, and it'll be even tougher than this one! I'm not going down without a fight!'' His words, meant to bolster and convince himself that he could in fact take a rematch, where cut short by an anti-climactic cough.

Taro Yamada

He had no clue what all that ENKI stuff was about, sounded more like Bean's ballpark if it was some brainy tech stuff. All he was here to do was offer shelter, manpower and hopefully make some worthwhile connections that wasn't with this pretend vigilante in a brigadier's cap.

''Guts.'' He corrected her with a scowl, but tried not to let his immature side get the best of him as he continued. ''Our goals were never expansion, but protecting what we already have. However, times are changing and if we have to change with the times and spread our name throughout Tokyo, then so be it.'' He smiled confidently. They weren't even a particularly noteworthy group, otherwise the government would surely have cracked down on them sooner, and it was probably telling that they skirmished with villains more often than any heroes. Still, their allegiance was firmly with the vigilantes. Villains and even heroes just couldn't be trusted.

''As acting leader of the Hummingbirds, I can arrange for that.'' He put his hands on his hips and turned to look at Ghouligan. ''But it depends on where our meeting takes us today, and what everyone's plans are.''

''What makes you think I'm not serious?'' He grinned looking over at Dion, not bothered in the slightest by being told to shut up. For someone as loud as him it wasn't his first rodeo. Being a newcomer to the vigilante scene however, he had no chance of knowing who most of the people here actually were. Then the next person who spoke up was one he knew all too well, and not for any good reasons. ''What the hell?!'' He pointed at Grinta. ''Are you letting villains into this place?'' His loss to her was still fresh on his mind, and while she hadn't killed him when she totally could, he wasn't entirely convinced yet that she wasn't some form of evil. ''And who are you calling stop-sign!'' He clenched a fist at Grinta and the voice of the little monstrosity. He wasn't actually going to fight anyone and was clearly just throwing a bit of a tantrum.

When Jaida showed up with a completely different vibe to her and as more people started pouring in, he eventually dropped it and just crossed his arms, mumbling to himself with a scowl on his face as he walked further into the room and listened to Ghouligan's speech. He truthfully liked the proposal. Perhaps it was the naive optimist in him, but Eiji had been feeling similarly for a while now. The vigilantes were largely disconnected, some were even scared to seek refuge with the Hummingbirds because of a few rumors that had been spread about his group.

One by one everyone stepped up and introduced themselves, letting their opinions be known and telling the room what they could offer to this network idea. He particularly took note of the address Sho mentioned, being that he himself was a Shinjuku native. Chiming in after Jaida, Eiji stepped forward. ''Speaking of safe places to hunker down, I'm Guts, I can start fires! More importantly, I'm the Heart, and current acting leader of the Hummingbirds. We're a group based out of Shinjuku who can offer muscle to anyone who needs it, or shelter to those who need to lay low for a few days. If you're on the right side of this mess and willing to stand up against those who oppress us, whether they're heroes or villains, then you can call Hummingbird territory your home!''

Someone's hosting a fancy meeting for vigilantes? Of course he was going to be there! Not only was he interested in the goings-on in the society he lived in, he was going as a representative for the Hummingbirds of Shinjuku. If a lot of vigilantes was going to show up to this thing, that meant there was a good chance he could make some connections or maybe even find new friends or allies. If it turned out to be a trap? Well, he had been practicing his right hook lately and if he got arrested, it wasn't like he had committed any serious crimes anyway!!

''So this is where the party is?'' Eiji called out loudly, ignoring the fact that barely anyone had showed up yet because he was early. Posing dramatically he grinned. ''You stand in the presence of Guts, beating, burning and flaming Heart of the Hummingbirds!'' He pointed his prosthetic arm to the roof as he posed dramatically, sending a spark of flames through it for a brief second to add to his self-perceived coolness factor. Aside from his one prosthetic arm, the redhead was wearing regular, if somewhat worn and old streetwear. One glance would be enough to tell that he was a street rat and anyone who knew about the Hummingbirds gang, knew that they were doing a lot of good in Shinjuku, but weren't exactly filthy rich.

''What do you say we take this party to the next level? DJ crank up the music!'' He shouted at no one in particular.
