[attr="class","sixShpost"]heheThe blur was locked. The statue stood her in her place. She couldn't become that blur of speed again. She couldn't resist it or what was coming. She looked up to her fate for the final time.

heheAn explosion howled through the street, through the sky, as one final eruption. In its roar of fire and the compressed, wailing air that surrounded it, the day's light couldn't compete, becoming a mere shadow by comparison as the violent detonation engulfed the world in its greater one — in the more immediate sun born there in Nerima.

heheIn the black made from the uproarious white, there, stricken through her face, came the woman's look. The blues from her eyes, eclipsed by the light, trembled towards the sky. Her final moments, the ones most hidden away — the ones hidden just between ticking seconds, down to the littlest of passage — were met by the one above.

heheHis features disappeared. In the bomb's overwhelming flash, Claudio's form dissolved as its own entity. The only hint of its existence came in the faint shadows seen at his outer edge, his furthest point away from the light; it wasn't a man's form that stared the woman back. Though the spear was, shaped in shadows by a calf, shin, and underfoot; his entirety wasn't. Pieces of a human form drifted into a mist, the sky's gaps becoming his form. The shapes of arms curled and twisted, crooked and pitted of flesh; his chest burst, gushing out like an X-ed grave at its center; and his face was half lost to the smoke, with only the faintest trace of a single eye staring down.

heheThe gap between the two inched closer. In the descending creature's silhouette, hung above their shoulders and encircling the head, the trace ends of Playful Cloud's scar framed its gaze. The empty sky vanished in the light, but the umbrage of the being remained.

heheThe leg passed through her body. At every fraction of the second, Playful Cloud's foot sank another layer deeper. First, a centimeter. Then, another centimeter. And then another. And then another, and then another, and then another further through — with each pass, her dust flowed up. Grainy, metallic, dust fell over his foot, over his leg, until there was nothing more to pass through.

hehePlayful Cloud met her gaze for the first time.

heheStone and asphalt erupted from beneath Claudio's foot. In the wake of its destruction and the piercing of the woman's form, both she and her golem's body dissolved. In the torrent of explosions, his own impact included, her voice carried past him and through the air, following alongside and dispersing with the dust.

heheClaudio stood there, his foot still plunged into the street, panting. His body seemed as it always had; made of flesh and bones, with the only exception coming from his hair, he stood there as a man. Claudio pulled his foot up from the rubble, bits of debris and chunks of road falling off his sandaled foot, and coughed. His smile trembled at either curled end, and his hands quivered as they now rested at his sides.

hehePulling himself out from the crash and surveying what he could see through the smoke, Claudio found both the crippled Loadstar and the freed Trailblazer; the former covered in blood and the latter back to his material state. With a leap, the Brazilian's arms sprung towards the two, wrapping around them and pulling them close. In the case of Emilia, he offered a more careful grip.

hehe"You had a qui'k, and you didn't even tell me, you je'k!" Claudio laughed as he pulled Elijah and Emilia in, keeping his hands hidden at their backs. "You and her–" he'd tilt his head towards Emilia– "gave me a heart attack! Each!" Going from Emilia to Elijah, Claudio would playfully bump his head against Trailblazer's; nothing substantial enough to even cease his quieted laughs.

heheHis laughing persisted, in fact. With them still close at his sides, Claudio placed himself between the two, hanging his head and continuing to laugh. Longer and longer he did, his once quiet cheer fading further and further into silence, settling still like the dust clouding the street. Eventually, he would cease it altogether.

hehe"Hey, Elijah?" His words came at last, pitched like a chirp. "At the sta't, I called that big thing 'Mr. Earth.' It wash funny, you should've been there. No, it washn't just funny; it was hilarious. Yeah, supe' hilarioush. But, well... do you think maybe I should've called them 'Ms. Earth,' leasht once, before... y'know?"

[attr="class","sixShpost"]heheClaudio followed Ms. Periwinkle out from the administration building; though, unlike the pro-hero, Claudio didn't just walk — no, he'd spent most of his day on his legs. He'd do anything but for his time off. Instead, with legs crossed over one another — was that sitting style considered rude here? He still hadn't checked — with his hands resting on either of their respective knees. His fingertips, mostly inaudible, gently drummed against the bone as he followed the titanic hero along.

heheMaking it back outside again, Claudio's gaze would gently tilt upwards. Though he now sat to meet Titanomachia's eye level, floating just a few feet off the ground, his eyes didn't follow her. In fact, as she came to a sudden stop ahead of him, he'd nearly bumped into her.

heheToday's sky was a pure blue — maybe that's why he'd almost run into her. A bright, midday sun, just barely eclipsed by a singular cloud. The whole rest of the sky was empty, drowned in an ocean of cool tones, all except for that one cloud. Today's winds, silent in their passing, only barely waded past him; and, for that cloud, he didn't imagine it would be pushed along anytime soon. Maybe he would go swimming with it later. Maybe it would feel less lonely.

hehe"Hmmm," came the eventual hum. Bouncing away a couple of inches, and still keeping himself off the ground, Claudio stared a few seconds longer. Eventually, with his right hand moving up and his elbow resting on his thigh, the cloud rested his cheek against the flat of his fist.

hehe"Man, you guysh p'obably get annoying to the localsh." Tracing his left index finger in a circle — small giggle included — as he drew out a clock in the air. Quite literally, as his finger itself dissipated into a cloud, unwinding itself like a string and forming the timepiece — the seconds hand ticking away. "Then again, I guessh in a sea of heroesh around all the time, you guysh p'obably aren't the worsht about it, either. Do any kidsh ever come up to you with hai' dyed to match you'sh, Miss Periwinkle?"

heheClaudio's finger returned to its source, the clock converging on what remained of his finger before returning to its flesh, blood, and bone state. And with it, he propped his whole left up just like his right, resting his chin between the hands and focusing on the pro-hero.

hehe"But–" he'd continue, disregarding his own previous question — as though it were rhetorical — as he did– "for conce'nsh, I think I got one." He closed his eyes, carefully rocking his head back from one hand to the next. His hair bobbed along to his movements. "You said theze positionsh are 'earned,' hight? What are you looking fo' me to prove here, exactly?"

[attr="class","sixShpost"]hehe"That'sh not what I mean!" If he had any less sense, he might have smacked Elijah again. As the student went off on his way to battle, to deal with the situation as he saw fit, Claudio huffed out a sigh.

heheThe first man Elijah knocked down, whose back cracked like a snake over the table's ledge and across the countertop, was quickly followed up by the second man, who, though his body curled from the first blow to his gut, didn't so much as grunt; rather strangely, though everyone else present in his cavalcade wore a mask for their entire face, his split off just beneath his nose, revealing his full mouth and brunet mustache. As came the second blow to the face, the man's jaw unhinged itself, opening like a lid — and tried to bite down on the metallic fist. As he opened his mouth, the overhead lights — a warm hue of yellow, bordering on an autumn dusk — showed through in his metal teeth. Clamping down on the fist, there came a whirring sound from inside of his mouth. The sound soon became a shake, as whirling blades cut and spikes drilled against the gauntlet, a horrible shriek of metal against metal.

heheFrom his back, the bending man snapped up from his position against the table, lunging for Elijah's arm in an attempt to restrain it. But as he snapped back up off the table, a body — another suit — came hurtling in from the direction of the door, outright knocking him, the first man, and the table over. The two patrons at either end screamed.

heheIn the midst of the chaos, with patrons running to the walls while suits filed toward the two students — with the gunman fading behind the mass of bodies — Claudio had brought in the man from outside, unconscious, in and, with the final man of the original formation, constricted his arms around them like a rope before throwing them into the crowd of men. Claudio thought he heard another scream, probably not from the waiters, as the men caught their comrades from the air.

heheFlying in from the counter to the kitchen, a pair of hamburgers soared through the air, even curving through their path as they took to their targets — one served to each of the students. Their mouths opened like rats, with food bits in their patties just like a rodent's, aimed to bite down on either of their free arms.

hehe"What rule are they breaking now, gentleman?" The maître d' called out, crossing his arms over his chest. In one hand, he held a large, steel ladle.

hehe"Rule number four!" Claudio ducked beneath the burger, avoiding its bite.

hehe"And what," he boomed, "is rule number four, gentleman?"

hehe"Respect the waiting staff!"
[break][break]
heheAnother man, coming in from the direction of the tipped table, jabbed a knuckleduster-wielding fist in Elijah's face. However, as the punch came in, it seemed to blur as it came, yet its speed wasn't irregular from an average punch. It was a smear of color aimed at smacking Elijah down. Meanwhile, the garbage disposal man kept his mouth clamped down as hard as he could muster, taking Elijah's punishment — stomach, face, even the groin — just to keep him still. The blurry man's mask, from what could be seen, also had a black sheen along it.

heheAt the same time, the red-tipped man from before clashed with the laughing cloud. His skin burned like a cattle iron, searing against Claudio's skin before he kicked himself away, tumbling backward and gripping at his arm.

hehe"Hot, hot hot hot!"

hehe"What, can't handle food when it's hot?"
[break][break]
hehe"I don't eat with my a'm, dreadsh! Er, wait," he'd shake his hand at his classmate, "not you, Elijah-kun! Wait, no — T'ailblaze'!... Hm, nope, doesn't sound bette'. That heally you' firsht choice, by the way?"

Did most people need to think so much? As he continued to sit there, legs crossed over one another as he bobbed to and fro, away and towards, he couldn't help but silently giggle.

heheHe couldn't imagine what such a mind was like. Constantly asking itself questions it didn't yet understand, picking apart every little detail that slipped into its path, complicating things where they didn't need to be — how troublesome that must be! And to link everything to an outcome, to "punishments" and "rewards?" Yes, people were quite silly like that. Undoubtedly, humans were the silliest species to ever walk the Earth, from now to the rest of time!

heheIt was so that, as Shion shot that accusatory finger across the table, Claudio could only offer an energetic sigh. Alongside it, the cloud wagged his finger. In fact, after ceasing his bouncing and staring directly across the table, Claudio snapped his fingers with a flashing sheen.

heheWhat had previously been his boisterous, upbeat tone now met with a stern, monotone statement. An observation of act, he might say, that Shion was a big dummy. Perhaps even the biggest of dummies — the dummy most deserving of the cap.

heheClaudio continued to bounce, with his voice moving up again to do the same.

heheAnd thus, he continued to laugh. At some point he fell over on his back, gripping his hands over his stomach as his voice carried through the room, endlessly beating against Shion's eardrums in their infinite source of humor — a humor Claudio couldn't contain for someone like Shion.

So many things pass through Claudio's cloudy form, but of them, the most important one is the sudden appearance of the true force behind the golem. With the sensation of Toto going through his mist, Claudio dedicates himself to stopping the new antagonist. He grasps the edges of the surrounding pathway, the underside of either building, and stretches his arm to build tension, releasing the force to send him foot first. With this, he attempts to bury the woman in a single kick — the Cloud-Cloud Crater!

[attr="class","sixShpost"]heheFrom place to place, from cloud to cloud in the mist circling at the skyline, Claudio's eyes darted about the scene. He didn't even need them in a pair; so long as he only had two eyes, he could look around wherever he so wanted. Though, more notable than his sight — a source limited in the haze — came the sensation from his center, a tactile shift at the storm's heart.

heheThe golem split itself in two, and from its core, came another being. Smaller than the titan, much more like a human from the sensation of its... flesh? Against his gaseous form; or, rather, her presence pushed him apart as she moved through him, wading through even easier than she would through water. Much like the golem at the center of this storm, their passing shifted within him, and thus, their sudden disappearance had an eye train down on them toward their target.

heheThen came another feeling. No, it wasn't just one feeling — it was a pair of them, moving through his forms in their own methods. The first was no doubt the golem, whose shifting clenched itself back together into what remained of its mighty form. Though it shifted further, its counterpart was of more interest. It was something small, darting through his form up and towards the titan — its shape didn't remind him of a person, but there he could only recall one other thing on the battlefield capable of flight. Certainly, whatever it was Shion had planned, it would best serve to deal with the machine.

heheThe clouds above shifted, howling as its circling tendrils passed through the sky. At either ends of the street block, grabbing at the underside of the ledges as they took shape, the shape condensed its form further and further up into the air. The higher it went, the more solid the arms became, stretching higher until, finally, the shape of a man took its place in the sky.

heheHis arms, stretched and rubbery, resisted with all their might the tension filling them. A strained choke came from Claudio's throat as he pulled against himself, storing all that he could into his position atop the sky.

heheWith a quiet laugh to himself, Claudio murmured, "Cloud-Cloud..."

heheClaudio shot down from the sky, the tension forced into his arms suddenly freed as the Brazilian plunged toward the earth, a blur of a cloud that disappeared from its apex just as quickly as it appeared. And below him, as his foot's main target, remained the terror and its leg looming over Elijah — though, in his path, he wouldn't let them be for long.

His lips didn't curl the slightest, his stance didn't shift, and his eyes didn't even offer a widening or a narrowing. With the same puzzled expression he'd held when first giving her his attention.

heheOf any indicators, the most he extended was the occasional nod. With her words washing over him, he held a neutral display; however, as she continued on and on, the Brazilian progressively sucked his face in, placing a hand over his mouth as to feign deep contemplation. The further and further she went, the more Claudio had to seal his lips shut — even burying them in his own mouth by the time she stated her interest.

heheClaudio looked down to her hand. Then, he looked back up to meet her gaze.

heheThe cloud burst out into laughter, howling laughter, clutching at his gut as he fell over himself in hysterics. He did so quite literally, falling backward as he did so. Though, as he did so, he floated there — not far off the ground, as he remained just below Titanomachia's eye level, but far enough to not brush against the floor — like he'd taken a cushy seat on the air.

hehe"Hoh, you're a hiot!" Amidst his laughter, Claudio managed to cough out a few words. "No wonde' you're so famoush — you're hilarioush!"

heheBouncing out from the air and back onto his feet, Claudio reached out both of his hands to shake Titanomachia's singular, with one meeting the heroes properly while the other wrapped around their back. With a grin, he carelessly shook their hand; his hair bobbed as he did.

hehe"You should'a just started with that, Miss–" he slightly choked on his words, still having some laughs left in his gut– "Periwinkle!" He wouldn't be letting go of that title of address anytime soon — it was much too amusing for him to simply forget.

heheSat in the middle row, off on the right side of the room and towards the door, Claudio gently tapped a mechanical pencil to his notebook. Tap, tap, tap. Drumming along to the clock's rhythm, the cloud tapped the eraser end against a laid-out page. His gaze drifted up from the professor, whose words deafened as he faded into the corners of Claudio's eyes, and followed the ticking. The thin red hand went on.

heheEventually, even the sound of his eraser — a muffled sound, near silent even to the cloud's immediate neighbor — dulled from the drummer. The arrow circled the outer edge, passing by slower and slower as Claudio stared at it. How many more ticks did he need? It couldn't be many. If every sixty ticks was another minute, then... No, that would be a great number more than a few. Far more than a few. Way too many more than it had any right to be.

heheMaybe if he looked away and back, it would go by quicker. Oh, or maybe he could close his eyes! Hmm, wait, no — he might fall asleep if he did that. Not a terrible fate, per se, but he may miss the rest of his day off; even worse, he may waste more of his time if he got into trouble right at the end of this lecture.

heheThe bell rang.

heheSound flooded through Claudio's ears once again, and movement returned to the rest of his eyes. Classmates picked up their materials, the professor worked to reset his display, and he bolted from his seat into the hallway.

heheWith his drawstring bag hung loosely from his shoulder, swinging it forward and stuffing his notebook into it, the cloud bounded into the hallway. He, like a few others, immediately stepped out from his class and into the rest of the day ahead; a clear schedule all for himself!

heheBut just as he stepped out, a voice came over the loudspeakers. Claudio's ear perked up to the intercom, humming to himself as he walked on.

heheHad he heard that correctly? Had he heard his name called for? No, surely not. He couldn't have been. Why would he be requested? He couldn't recall any trouble he might be in — he'd avoided that from what he could remember. And right at the very end of his day, at that? But he was sure he'd heard it; he was sure he'd heard his name.

heheWell, how bad could it be? Surely, whatever it was, it wouldn't be much of an excursion for him. It would only take an hour of time at most, two tops, and he would otherwise be free to do as he so wished with the rest of his day.

heheThe door to the administration building peaked open. The summoned cloud, peaking his head in through the crack, looked from the desk at the front of the room to the woman sitting alongside the wall. Then again, as he stepped through the door, his gaze shifted back to the receptionist.

heheFor an institution so prestigious as UA, whose expectations of appearance were in utmost service of its image, Claudio took to wearing the uniform as he so wished; most notably, his dress shirt only buttoned up to the middle of his torso, revealing his chest — as well as the scar blooming from its center — while his coat hung open to leave it on full display. His hair unfurled against the pavement as he slumped forward — like a doorstop.

heheAs the second man took his swings — a thinner man with matted black hair — Claudio puffed up like a balloon, knocking the gentleman's air from his lungs and his back to the floor. Certainly, it was not his body that was most damaged by the cloud. As the cloud returned to his normal shape and size, however, Claudio tried to smack his classmate on the back of the head.

heheClaudio hadn't hit Elijah with much of any force — or, at least, the intention of thereof — but as he pulled his hand back, the head waiter pointed one of his meaty arms at the two, aiming a finger at their shared presence. As he did so, he would tilt his chin up, hints of a beard peaking out from the bottom of his chin as he stared towards the ceiling.

The maître d' stomped his right foot ahead of himself, pulling his hand across his sheened mask and through his slicked, black hair. As he stood at attention, so too would the rest of his entourage, placing their hands behind the backs and one hand within the other. "Everyone in a restaurant must have manners, including the patrons!"

hehe"Sir!" The waiters said in unison, puffing out their chests and squaring their shoulders. Of the men, the one nearest to the head waiter — a man with red dreads that hung from the top of his head, and whose mask had decals of the same black sheen as the maître d's — spoke up.

heheThe men rose from their proper statures, freeing their arms and readying their fists towards the two intruders. Of the men, only a few seemed armed with any sort of weapon, and those who did wield such a piece were limited. Some held pocket knives, the rare one held a knuckleduster, and only a single man — a wiry, thin man in the back — wielded a gun. However, that man trembled as he held the muzzle to the floor.

heheFour men with gloved, empty hands slowly approached the two. It was these four who chanted their first rule. As they approached, they lowered themselves to the grounds, waiting for the boys to be the ones to make the first move.

Claudio flies down to Shion's level (not to him, just at his level) and stretches his arms in an attempt to shove him (and Retsu) behind the fallen arm. As the drills shoot out in all directions, Claudio disperses into a massive cloud that envelopes the air, hoping to block the giant's view of the battlefield and how successful it managed to be. At this moment, after forming his head and hiding it in the clouds, he calls down to the rest of the group to get the titan on its knee, as he has an idea.

His arms returned to his sides, tight with stress as they matched his size as they had before; fresh blood dripped from their knuckles, and burns etched across the flat of their fists down to the golem beneath.

heheThe scorching was fresh, only brief in the cloud's contact with the sudden outburst of steam, but the wounds around his joints had been a concern for such an onslaught to begin with. They'd endured his initial contact with the titan, sure, but that was only a singular below; unlike the singular below of before, his combination had been an unyielding force, an unleashing of his full strength, against the armored foe — it was only natural that against steel, his flesh would be the first to break.

heheRegardless of the cloud's pain, however, there was no one worse for wear than the golem itself. His blows had proven to be effective. Even more so than his blows, however, the efforts from within the machine proved the most fatal. And the source?

heheClaudio couldn't help but laugh, howl even, as a thought crossed his mind. There was no way that explosion could have come from Shion or their explosive-wielding combatant — not directly. He'd never seen them plant anything like that, either; there should have been no way for them to plant so many explosives beneath the titan's armor. As for the blonde, Claudio hadn't seen an indication of her having the chance to pull that off, especially not after it crushed her beneath its foot.

heheHis mind could only reach one idea: Either a new combatant had joined the foray or, more likely, Elijah was the one responsible for the destruction! But wait, hadn't he said he was quirkless? Maybe not said, per se, but Claudio couldn't remember him demonstrating a quirk at any point. Even in their own escapades, he'd never used any sort of ability — had it simply never been necessary?

heheWhatever the case, Claudio could leave that leg of the battlefield to its own devices. More pressingly than that, Claudio's eyes fixated upon his effeminate friend; he floated there, frozen, right before the armed golem, with his cohort being in just as bad a position.

heheDropping down to their level with his arms pulled back, Claudio slingshotted his hands towards the two with the intent of shoving them behind the fallen arm. If that was their goal, even if they blanked just before the finish line, he would get them the final push they needed.

heheThe streets had thinned of civilians. Through the heeps of demolished buildings and jutting fragments of what once was, the ones left at the scene were himself, his allies, and the machine. Shion was bloodied from his rescue maneuver, the motorcyclist was worse for wear, Elijah's condition was a mystery, and the blonde was surely near her limit; with the titan stripped of its armor and cracked along its skull, Claudio knew what he had to do.

heheAs the torpedos shot out from the titan's body, flying at almost every possible angle imaginable, the Brazilian vanished. Transformed into a cloud, his body was swept away in the whirlwind of drills that pierced his gaseous body. His particles split widely throughout the sky, dissipating like a fine mist upon an early morning dawn; what had once been the shape of a man was now a cloud stretched through the air, placed just between the titan's head and the world beneath it.

Looking out upon it, his body twisted along with the position, aiming it so that, as it made its way towards the horizon, he would face it with a thickly shaded set of sunglasses wrapped around the back of his head. Perhaps it would be better, or more accurate, to call them goggles.

heheIt wasn't as though he was exhausted per se. His muscles saw no need to scream at him for his misuse, especially not during a slower week of lectures, assignments, and other such expectations. After sneaking in his necessarily frivolous hobbies, he'd been left with little time to stress his body to anything substantial.

heheAs for his academics, he couldn't call his mind drained, either. What had been expected of him was busy work, an ultimately harmless expectation that proved itself incomprehensibly tedious. Claudio wouldn't consider himself a complete failure as an academic, but his interests pulled him in a different direction. A very different direction. Were the reverse of the week to occur — for his time to have been spent more in the "practical" sphere than with classwork — he was sure he'd already be prepping for bed.

heheBut the cloud's body ached to move. And his mind wanted to play.

heheA muffled chirp buzzed at his side. Before Claudio could even turn to see what it was, he felt the source of the sound slip out from his pocket, tumbling out into the open air below. As the cloud finally caught sight of what it was, he let out a choked scream — his phone!

heheHis arm stretched right after it, moving through the air like a snake before nabbing it in its grip, only barely managing to catch it before he would have had to dive for it.

heheFinally getting air back into his lungs as he pulled his phone back up, the man opened his phone. A message for the student forums? As he floated there, up high in the sky, Claudio scrolled through to find the message, mumbling over the words on his screen. Someone requested a volunteer to aid them, needing their strength for a project they were working on.

heheClaudio, laughing himself himself a tune, slipped his phone back into his pocket.

heheA knocking game at the lab door, with a muffled voice calling out from behind it. There, at the entrance to the lab space, stood the cloud-headed man humming a song, with his school uniform left open and the upper half of his dress shirt unbuttoned. At the very least, he tucked his dress shirt in.

heheFrom a land known for sweltering summers and an eternally lively beach population, the cloud had more than seen what his hometown had to offer — to have been a part of what made Rio such a tourist destination, even beyond the statue looming over his city. Though, in what made it such a darling gem of the world, Claudio could never find the same in what Japan had to offer.

heheIn turn, however, Japan offered an entirely new world, one of booming metropolises, quaint towns, and an intricate culture that he yet only had a single example of — and even that example was of someone who stripped herself of those values in favor of the "Marvelous City." His only grasp of the difference was in the "chains" she described as part of this island, whereas she saw her new home as a "place of broken shackles."

The words he spoke shot out from between his lips, flying out with reckless abandon — though, to the attention of their chaperones, or lack thereof, they descended upon Olivia's ears.

heheTo have all of Tokyo just beneath him, yet resting just close enough to be a part of it — could there have been a greater way to look upon it? He could hardly imagine. The forbidden nature of that seat made it all the more tantalizing, as well.

heheClaudio's grin was wide. Even in the backseat of this car, stuffy and unresponsive, Claudio could feel the air against his beared skin. It rushed by him, silently hissing as it met him before moving on to wherever it was off to, only for the rest of the gales to follow suit, with their only easy travels being in the clouds clung to the top of his head — a pleasantly unpleasant treatment that he wouldn't have any other way.

Claudio is taken aback by Elijah's supposed death, only brought back into focus as Emilia lifts the giant off his feet! As the two golems reach up to tackle him again, Claudio reaches his enlarged hands towards them and grips them, using their momentum to throw them over his head (his arms moving a half-circle). Directly afterward, he moves towards the head in an attempt to barrage it down, using his massive hands to strike it repeatedly.

[attr="class","sixShpost"]heheClaudio's arms snapped back to their sockets, flipping the cloud backward through the air. As his body came to a stop, righting itself properly with the world beneath and the sky above him, his eyes fell down.

heheThe golem's fist plunged through the ground. The ground erupted from around its impact, stone and earth shooting out from beneath it, erecting themselves like pillars in the waste of the impact — a tortured temple built from the sacrifice at its center. Beyond its borders ran the price, running away further and further away from the crash.

heheThe air caught in Claudio's lungs. Tight. His lungs were tight. He couldn't breathe. He couldn't look away, either. His neck wouldn't turn, and his eyes wouldn't close.

heheThe earth tremorred again. His eyes didn't focus on it. It couldn't have been anything more than the reinforcements like before. But, as he continued to stare at what had once been, his body unflinching in its stare, a blur appeared in the corner of his eye. Like a mirage, he questioned if it was a trick of the mind — a hopeful illusion of a better outcome.

heheHis eyes, desperate for a silver lining, tore themselves from the destruction, following the course of the golem's form as it came crashing down onto its back.

heheInformation flooded the boy's mind, his eyes darting about the battlefield as more and more flowed. The girl had survived? It seemed so — the energy born from her must have been the reason. He wished he could say the same for Elijah.

heheTwo more golems leaped at Claudio, again repeating their predecessors' mistakes in handling the cloud. This time, however, the cloud moved his hands to grab the golems before they even reached him, expanding the shape of his hands and imprisoning them in their grip.

heheSimilarly to before, the Brazilian hurled the two constructs toward their larger counterpart, hurling them over his head in a half-circle motion. Though, unlike his previous satisfaction with just the catapult, the cloud soared forward, jetting across the sky and closer to the titan's head.

heheHe couldn't guarantee an opportunity like this again. As he continued through the air, the vision of his comrades' struggles made one thing all too clear to him — he had to take responsibility for the situation. His allies had already sustained heavy damage. He couldn't imagine the superpowered girl to have much more in her, especially not after taking the full weight of the giant on her shoulder. Shion burdened himself with the life of the biker. And Elijah, he...

heheClaudio threw a pair of readied fists, his massive knuckles crashing down upon the creature's head. His blows didn't end with a single attack each, however. No, they would crash down again, and once they had risen back up, they would strike the golem again. Claudio would throw attack after attack, reeling and throwing his fists as many times as he could — he would keep this golem down for as long as long as he could.

The wind passed through them with little a rustle, little a shake, as they divided the school from the wilderness, acting not as a border to the wilds, but as a gateway into them.

heheBut their hushed tones were an enticing melody indeed. The secrets they told, and the tales they told weaved, were well worth their while. Today, it even brought down the cloud to listen.

heheAnd, in his response to their call, he answered them with a loud, boisterous laugh, and a thunderous howling that echoed from his fist. Subtle as a storm, his presence rung out further from its epicenter, a small clearing marked now by cracks in the surrounding bark — their wounds born of arms, fists, legs, and feet; nothing like a cloud.

heheThe sound continued to ring for a while, continuing to resound through the neighboring area as an incessant droning, however faint it might be at a distance. Like a droning of cicadas, in that way — a present, tickling sound that easily disappeared from one's mind until the presence of sound returned to them, that elated sobering of reality's presence. When it did return, it suddenly couldn't be ignored, playing between the ears and refusing to leave.

heheThough, just as that sounded tended to, it soon also disappeared just as quickly as it came, as the senses began to find the night creeping away from them. It became a muffled, dull sound that barely passed by, humming only on the occasion that it tiredly started its sounds again before drifting back to its silence.

hehePeering into the clearing, the world passing like the vision of a spyglass, the cloud rested against the greenery below. The blades brushed and bent against his back, with even those just beyond his form having curved down and underneath him — like a soft bed staining him. Either of his arms stretched outwards from him, forming a line across his chest up until they strewed themselves haphazardly across the grass, like limp tubes in their lack of structured form.
