Floating a Plan
Michael knew that Yoko had a hard time controlling her quirk, especially with it being so significantly influenced by her emotions. Still he wanted to be able to put a bright spin on any situation. So if her rain began to pour she would be able to see its advantages rather than feeling like she couldn't remain composed. Michael wanted her to be able to see how amazing she was, like he saw her. She seemed pretty pumped for the exercise, so it got him all the more fired up.
"Let's start up high and head down. I can float us up to the top floors. After I clear a few of the civilians, I'll float them back to the ground and become a crash pad so you can toss out the rest. We'll keep going that way until we hit an obstacle." Michael suggested. With this plan it would depend a lot of Yoko being fast and efficient clear the civilians from each floor and tossing them down to Michael. This also allowed him to then keep track of how the outside of the building seemed to be holding up against any challenges or new problems. That way he could get up to whatever floor she was on to help as needed.
The plan was simple enough to call an audible as needed and it gave Yoko the opportunity to be in control of the situation as Michael worked as support and catch. Unless she stated otherwise, Michael gripped onto his short friend, scooping under her arms as he inflated himself like a weather balloon. Swelling his body full of helium wouldn't be much of a struggle as it was just to float them to the top floor and with her size it didn't add much of a weight issue.
Michael floated them up quickly to the top of the building near the top of the fire escape of that side. Before expelling the air from his body, he lightly tossed Yoko onto the fire escape catwalk. Michael let the air out with a quick burst on his back, propelling his fall towards the fire escape. Catching himself on the railing of the floor just below Yoko, Michael pulled himself over and broke his way into the building with an inflated punch to the window. He'd need to be careful to avoid being scratched or punctured by the glass as that would definitely make their mission harder as it would severely dampen his abilities until he patched it.
Michael climbed through the opening carefully and began rushing through the floor of the building to find and gather any civilians he could find.
Notes & Tags: Yanai Yoko TLDR: Michael suggested a plan of action for the evacuation. Depending on if Yoko agreed, Michael would float them to the top floor and after dropping off Yoko would go to the next floor down. He would break in and start gathering civilians towards the escape and then take a few down to the ground to be ready to catch others that Yoko would through to him like a giant air bag.

Building Teamwork
Michael once again resigned to wearing his gym gear. Having developed a growing bond with Yoko and comfortability with a hero name was one thing but he still had no idea what to do for a uniform or any gadgetry that would help him better. He had focused on honing his physical prowess and capabilities with his quirk and hoped ideas beyond gear that was as flexible and pliable as he is would come to him over time. It was times like this thay Michael wish that he had something to help give him assistance with the task at hand.
The building looked to be an apartment complex and had at least 6 floors and who knew how many rooms. There were twin fire escapes up both sides and likely two stairwells inside to accommodate the tenants. Michael was always quick to help people but a full on emergency evacuation; that meant they couldn’t just rely on people being able to get out on their own, they’d have to go in and personally extract every single person.
“Yeah, it’s not gonna be easy but we’ll stick together and get through this no matter what challenges they throw our way.”
Michae wasn’t sure what their quirks would be able to do through most of this, but he was confident that they’d figure it out.
“Even if you never saw yourself as a rescue hero, these people will need our help and who knows, maybe some quick rain could be used to snuff out a fire or your strength to punch down a door. I believe in you Oniki! We can do this!” Michael beamed excitedly.
Notes Tags: Yanai Yoko TLDR: Michael wished he had gear that could help with a challenge like this, but he trusted Yoko and him would handle anything that came their way if they worked together.

The First Steps on a New Path
Michael chuckled along with her reaction to his suggestion for her name as she stood up. She asked if he wanted to walk back to campus with her. Michael was prepared to bounce himself up to his feet like a rubber ball, but suddenly she offered a hand down to him. He smiled brightly and took her hand, letting her assist him to his feet as she called him Samaritan.
Samaritan. Samaritan. It had a really good ring to it and embraced his ideals more than his appearance. The name also had an air of mystery and ambiguity to it, like anyone could be a good Samaritan by sharing in his desire to do good and help people. She might have thought it wasn't a strong name, but it was instantly a top contender. Especially since it came from someone was important to him as a friend.
"Samaritan? I like that!" Michael beamed jovially. He began to play around with the word, saying it in different tones and contexts to the point it was almost ridiculous. "Look in the sky! It's Samaritan! Ah Heck! You caught me Samaritan, I guess I'll need to stop my evil doings! You saved the day Samaritan! Oh, Samaritan! You and Oniki are so cool!" Michael laughed at the gentle teasing from adding her into the spoken fantasy.
They would walk back together talking, joking and giving suggestions to one another, some half-serious, others straight up ridiculous.
Notes & Tags: Yanai Yoko TLDR: Michael loves the name idea Samaritan and plays around with how it sounds as they walk back for the campus.

You Lift Me Up
Michael chuckled warmly at her support. "Its okay. I like it like this myself. At this point it feels weird to not have it inflated. I imagine its kind of like blinking. Like you can force yourself to blink but sometimes people seem to just do it without thinking. Keeping my head inflated is kind of like that. Not doing it is kind of like forcing your eyes to stay open."
Michael was relieved that she seemed so receptive to his rather familiar gesture of holding her hand. He nearly scolded himself because not everyone liked to be touched, even something as benign as holding their hand. He should have asked first, so when she squeezed his hand back he was happy he hadn't made her uncomfortable. "It's not easy. And that's the point. It's easy to give into hate and fear or to do nothing. It's easy to be like the villagers. But to do good in the world, to be good, it's hard. But it's who I am and its all I want to be. So I'm glad you're willing to help me. I can definitely use all the help I can get. And I want to help you with your dreams too, even if you haven't found them yet."
Maybe it was the bond slowly forming between these two, but despite not having any facial expressions, it was becoming easier for Yoko to read Michael. And subtle as it was, Michael felt like he could understand Yoko better too. In a way to lighten the mood Michael released Yoko's hand to gesture with his words. "Okay, hear me out, what about this for a hero name for you: Oniki." He knew it was silly, combining the nickname he gave her (aneki) and the oni from the story, but he was trying to get a smile or a laugh out of her after all that heavy talk.
Notes & Tags: Yanai Yoko TLDR: Michael and Yoko seem to be becoming fast and strong friends. Michael wants to help Yoko discover and achieve her dreams too.

A Story of Red and Blue Friends
Michael's head returned to its round balloony shape, once again returning him to his soft smooth appearance. There was still a good deal more to it. Sure he had bones, muscles, veins, but they could be manipulated just like the rest of his body. Inflated, deflated, twisted... it took a great deal of competency with his quirk to apply so he wasn't just manipulating air to fill his skin, otherwise he'd just be a walking air sack at best. His youngest memories was learning to keep shape and control it. Now a lot of it was second nature, but that was mostly to just be more average. He trained so hard to fill, empty and move the gases within him to make it all seem easy. "Yeah. I was born this way. My quirk is a mutant class quirk, so this is just how I am. Though I do inflate my head because its less off-putting than a featureless red skull, hence the balloon shape." He said brightly, as if he didn't just admit to subconsciously keeping his head inflated at all times like it was no big deal.
Michael smiled warmly beneath his balloon face to be recognized by Yoko as more than some kind of mascot. It was his dream to be a hero, to help and protect as many people as he could. He wasn't going to let his appearance hinder that dream, he wanted to use it to make that dream come true. Many of his peers had underestimated him and invalidated his ambitions, but just like how he trained his body to function and appear how he wanted, he would train himself to be the hero he wanted to be.
"Yeah, I mean, naming yourself after a deity might be a little extra but at least it's very memorable." Michael chuckled a little but went quiet as she began to speak about her quirk. He was silent through her whole description, hearing all the negativity that she felt towards it, all the stigma she had clearly internalized from such a transformative quirk. He let her express her contempt of her transformation and subsequently her reactive cloud.
When Yoko finished, Michael sat down next to her and began to speak. "Have you ever heard of story of The Red Oni that Cried?" At first it sounded almost like he was changing the subject as he began to tell the old folk tale. "Once there were two oni; one red, one blue. These oni were strong monstrous trolls that lived in the mountains outside a village of humans. The red oni looked upon the village every day longing to befriend the humans, but no matter what he did, the villagers were scared of the supposed monster. The blue oni, wanting to make his friend happy came up with a plan.
The next day, the blue oni went down to the village causing trouble and frightening the people. The red oni swiftly rushed in and stopped his friend. Now seen as a hero to the village, everyone loved and welcomed the red oni. After a day of celebrating and playing with the humans, the red oni returned home to tell his friend that his dream had come true only to find a letter.
The letter said:
'My Dear Red Oni, if people find out that you are a friend of the Bad Blue Oni, they will not welcome you any more. So, I'm leaving. Please live happily with the humans. Goodbye, Blue Oni.'
The red oni began to cry and cry from the sacrifice that his friend had made for him to achieve his dream. The red oni lived in peace with the people of the village but he never saw his friend again."
Michael told the sad story, but even as it concluded, his words kept a hopeful tone. "People don't always notice the good when all they want to see is the bad. They oni weren't monsters but they were treated that way out of ignorance and fear. Sometimes, we may only be accepted by others if we show tangible value, but that doesn't mean we don't have value without their validation. I want to be a hero because its what I want. I want to help people because I want everyone to be safe and happy. If it makes others see me as more than I am, then so be it, but it doesn't change who I am. I see you for who you are; I can see the pain and fear in you, but I can see all the love and kindness you can share with the world too. You can be a hero; sure, you can show the world that you are not a monster, but more importantly, you can show yourself that you're not a monster." Michael reached over and held her hand confidently. "And I'll be with you every step of the way."
Notes & Tags: Yanai Yoko TLDR: Michael shares more about his quirk and how long he's been managing it. When hearing about Yoko's quirk and her feelings towards it, Michael sat beside her and told her an old folk story about the sacrifices of acceptance from others and how one's true self will always be valuable even without validation. Michael vowed to be there for his friend and help her to not see a monster in the mirror but who she truly is.

Stretching Out a Dialogue
Michael grimaced, not that she could see. He was fine with explaining especially since she seem genuinely curious... but he knew how repulsive it was to see. "I can stretch open the pores, but its not exactly something I show off... for one, its kind of uncomfortable but more importantly it's not very pleasant to see. So I tend to just stick with foods and drink that can pass through easily enough. Anything thicker than pudding usually involves some stretching." Michael decided it was maybe easiest to just show.
Michael check to make sure there wasn't anyone else around to freak out with his "trick". He slowly but deeply inhaled making his head seem to shrink. Though rather than deflating it was clear it was more like the air was being vacuumed out of his head. The latex rested against his skull within, clinging tightly, giving him a featureless but human like head just with bright red latex skin. His sturdy jaw and strong chin began to stretch down as he opened his mouth beneath the balloon. Small holes began to stretch out with his jaw as he manipulated the latex enough to open and reveal his mouth under the latex. He kept the holes small enough so to not show too much of the muscles and bones that most people had head skin to cover.
After that haunting display finished, he let the holes seal back shut over his mouth and in a gesture like in a cartoon, he pressed his thumb against where his lips would be and pretended to blow into his thumb tip to reinflate his head. "Hence why I tend to stick with soups and sodas." He chuckled trying to bring some levity back.
Michael appreciated the offers even if he couldn't indulge in either. "While I could more easily smoke than chew gum, neither appeal to me. But thank you." He would continue to explain and show what he could about his quirk.
After talking about his quirk while they walked and he let the conversation about his family fade, they ended up at the coast of the bay. Michael audibly groaned when the subject shifted to hero names. "No... I mean, I have some ideas, but none of them feel right right now. Deep Float and Zeppelin sound too dark and the local kids have started calling me Balloon Head. I know Michael doesn't really work for a hero name but its the only one that feels genuine... The best I've come up with is Mr. Inflatable and still it feels..." Michael was about to say it was like getting a piece of clothing you were too small for. "Like it doesn't fit yet... It's hard to come up with something that's meant to inspire hope in citizens and deter villains from crime when you look like the mascot for children's cereal." Michael sighed in frustration, showing how much this had been weighing on his mind. He picked up a rock off the ground and tried to skip it on the water's surface, though he failed immediately.
"I bet when you figure out a name it will be really cool. Like Suijin, or Susanoo, or Blue Skies- okay maybe that one doesn't seem very grandiose, but you get what I mean." Michael glanced over to her. "You can tell me to shut up if its too personal, but... what does your quirk do? Making rain is really neat and I know you were starting to change back there, but what is your quirk?" They were friends and she was already learning a lot about his quirk and how it affected him physically, so he wanted to know the same for her.
Notes & Tags: Yanai Yoko TLDR: Michael gets into more details about his head, he can eat anything up to the consistency of pudding before it becomes difficult and unpleasant to see. Michael hasn't found a hero name and the only one that feels usable feels like it doesn't fit him, like its too big for him. Michael asks about Yoko's quirk.

Aero-Strain
Michael was relieved by his teammates willingness to take a more pacifistic approach to this. He knew it was a lot to ask, but even if they weren't just villainous stand-ins for the simulation, Michael would take a peaceful stance for this, only resorting to violence if absolutely necessary. Michael liked Emi's idea, carrying Paragon might be a bit of a strain but if it meant less chances of anyone getting hurt, he was more than willing to push himself.
Despite not having a visible mouth, Michael inhaled deeply. It was likely just a muscle memory sort of action because as his body suddenly puffed up and swelled like a balloon he actually began to float in the air, clearly being inflated with helium rather than just air. Michael used his cushiony arms to grab onto Masao's arms before inflating bigger and bigger to lift off from the ground. Michael gave a nod to Emi, ready for her to hit him off in the direction.
After Emi's assistance, Michael continued to inflate, deflate, and expel gas through the pores of his body to maintain a good height and direction. He could feel his throat tightening a little from the overexertion. Being so stretched out while maintaining altitude, forward momentum and assuring his grip on Paragon was rather painful. It was a relief they didn't have too far to go before reaching the drop point as Michael began to see spots from the oxygen deprivation. Michael hadn't even heard Paragon's signal, only having managed to know to let go when he felt her grip release.
As soon as Masao was released Michael began drifting off towards the sky unburdened. He rolled and spun in the air as he was no longer weighed down by a second body. While dizzied from the effort Michael began letting out gas to stabilize himself. He ended up bouncing off the top of a shipping container.
Snap out of it Mikey! There are people who need you. Michael thought to himself as he caught onto the container. He forced his mind to steady and his body to endure as he released the gas from his body. As he made himself focus he began looking for the hostage location. With this vantage point he could hopefully see the area more clearly. With Paragon and Lodestar running distraction, it was up to him to locate the hostages and get them out of here. If he could find where they were, he would be able to sling shot himself towards them from here.
Notes & Tags: Emilia Hall | Masao Ando | Kei Hada | Yanai Hebiru TLDR: Michael inflated himself past his limits to lift and fly Paragon to the drop point. Forcing himself to land on top of a stack of shipping containers to get a vantage view of the area and try to find the hostages. If he could pin down their location he could rubber band himself towards them.

Lifts and Dips
Michael laughed more at the idea of gum. It was nice to see her curiosity so piqued. He tended to side step the question when kids asked things about his head since it was so often and the answer so technical they would just ask again because they didn't understand. "No. I can't really do solids all that well. My head is kind of like an inflated skin around my actual head and that skin is semipermeable allowing me to eat, drink and breath virtually as well as anyone else. I can also see, hear, smell and taste just fine." Michael was unsure how technical or revealing he should be about it. It didn't bother him much to talk about to anyone that actually wanted to know, but if it was just to not see him as a freak or the comfort of others he usually just kept it brief and innocuous.
Michael smiled at her speaking defensively for him. It didn't offend him much to be othered by people anymore since he embraced the difference and reclaimed his uniqueness, still it was nice to have someone stand up for him. Most people were more friendly than actual friends with Michael, so he was happy that Yoko seemed to be warming up to him. "Michael is a much better name to be called, Yoko-aneki." Michael hoped he wasn't being too familiar with her, after all she told him her name was Yoko and while he had heard her boss call her by her surname, he only wanted to know her by who she shared with him. Despite the size difference, Michael was younger than her and Yoko did have big sister kind of energy. He chuckled basically calling her 'big sis'. She did have that kind of rough-around-the-edges-heart-of-gold yakuza boss trope demeanor. Michael looked forward to seeing her quirk in action and working to become heroes together.
"I like my mom's family fine... they just... don't seem to like my father much. They try not to show it, but I don't think they liked that my mother married my dad... Being a member of an old family comes with a lot of traditions and expectations..." Talking about this clearly hit a more solemn note with Michael. He didn't feel outright hated but essentially unwanted by his mother's side of the family. They gave them an estate away from the other Ojakaze households. Michael only saw his cousins at special occassions and even then it was at arm's length. Michael was at least acknowledged by that side, it seemed even more distant for his father. Regardless, Michael loved his family and hoped that they would eventually welcome them more intimately, until then, he was happy to have his mom and dad. "I don't think about it much. I'm just focused on being a hero, so I just use my father's name anyways."
Notes & Tags: Yanai Yoko TLDR: Michael explains his balloon head very basically so to not overwhelm or disturb Yoko. Michael called Yoko: Yoko-aneki to have a more casual and friendly connection. Michael admitted that he feels his mother's side of the family don't like him or his father much.

Breezy Conversation
Michael was glad that the shelter took in the kitten with such little issue. They said that the cat was still a little too young to have been on its own, so it was good that they had found it. They would feed and take care of it for a couple of weeks, after that it would be ready to be put up safely for adoption. The shelter's vet thanked both Michael and Yoko for saving the kitten and Michael thanked them back for taking care of them from here.
As they stepped outside, Michael hadn't even realized that Yoko had changed back to her original form sometime during the walk. To him, her transformation hadn't been any different than how she already had been. The biggest difference that he noticed was in her demeanor. She didn't have quite the same jaded bitterness as when she saw him up in the tree or the distressed cloistering she displayed when being antagonized by that group of girls. This was a comfortable neutral, a simple contentment that Michael enjoyed seeing on her. He wouldn't expect her to be jovial, so it was nice to see the next best things.
When she offered a cigarette it was clear she wasn't sure if she was being offensive asking if he was even capable of doing so. "Nah. I mean I could... But no thanks, they're not really great for the lungs, and when you're essentially all lungs it's not a good idea." He chuckled playfully in a way that was hard to tell if he was joking or not. There was a lot of questions about his biology that wasn't exactly easy to explain so usually it was easier to just stay mysterious. After all, talking about himself wasn't nearly as interesting or important to him as his desire to do-good and inspire others to do the same.
After lighting up her cigarette and taking a drag from it, Yoko exhaled that she didn't think he was a shithead. "Well that's a relief. But most people call me an airhead." He paused and faintly posed for his joke as of egging for a laugh from his pun. But it seemed that she had something on her mind, so even if she did laugh it didn't last long as she carried on her thought.
Michael felt bad that she experienced such a disconnect from her quirk. It was clear from the earlier interaction that she felt shame and pain from it, likely stemming from how people treated her. Michael had some experience with that, but clearly not as severe as she had. Coming from an upper class family, Michael was home schooled until his junior high years when he was sent to a private academy. During that time, he was teased for his appearance, but bubbly and altruistic personality gained him popularity among the majority of students. By high school, while he was well liked he still wasn't taken seriously. While friendly with his classmates, virtually none of them supported his dream to be a pro hero. They didn't believe someone with a quirk like his, with a temperament like his, with an agonizing hopefulness and overly trusting nature like his would ever make it as a real hero. While not directly laughing at him, they were still mocking him. Michael strove through those beliefs to chase after his dream, but he could sympathize with how Yoko felt and how it held her back.
"It's not my place to share what you're not ready to." Michael said supportively. "But for what it's worth, I really like your quirk." He wanted to gush over what little aspects he saw from it and compliment Yoko herself, but he knew that wasn't going to help her feel more comfortable and confident right now. He'd have to work on her self-image over time to help her love who she is and what she could do for the world being herself.
Michael was happy to change subjects to keep her on track of a good mood. "I was born here. My father retired from hero work not long after meeting my mom. He met her during a mission here and they ended up going steady afterwards. He moved here permanently after marrying her so they could stay close to her family. I don't know if you've heard of my mom's family, the Ojakaze family." He stated the surname nervously. Michael's mother belonged to an old noble family, but Michael was trying to distance himself from that privileged lifestyle in order to become a pro hero. Michael was glad to not be living at their estate anymore so he could actually feel more connected to the normal citizens of Tokyo.
Notes & Tags: Yanai Yoko TLDR: Michael talks with Yoko while she smokes a cigarette. He reveals he actually likes her quirk and that his mother's family are actually pretty upper class.

Justified Justice
Michael was a little disappointed that the bullies took the easier route of running away rather than attempting to change for the better. All of this could have been an opportunity for growth and peace. He'd keep an eye out for them in the future to make sure they didn't fall down that path of villainy. And who knows maybe as they matured they could become good people. There was at least hope for them not antagonizing others.
He turned away from the fleeing bullies and made his way back over towards Yoko. He smiled warmly to himself as not only had the storm cloud cleared away, but she now had the kitten safely in her hands. He didn't need some kind of apology, after all this action spoke volumes. He whipped out his phone from his pocket and looked up the address. "There's a shelter about half a mile from here."
Michael was taken aback by the harsh back and forth that Yoko had with her manager. She might be a bit rough around the edges, but this just proved that she had her own way of caring and wanting to help. And after the distress she just went through, it was probably for the best that she took a day off. Michael quickly stepped in line beside her as they started off towards the shelter with the kitten. When Yoko broke the silence to keep control of the conversation, she asked if that law stuff he knew was real. "Unfortunately, that's all too real. The law can be rather harsh when spun the wrong way." Michael said sympathetically. Especially with backing of two UAU students... there was little chance that those girls would have gotten off easy. Michael was relieved that it ended as peacefully as it did. It would be terrible to see them make their lives that much harder just because they wanted to be mean.
When asked about having to deal with people like those bullies often, Michael tried to smile through a sigh. "There are a lot of people out there that hide behind hate as a shield from their fear and pain. My father was a hero for years in England before meeting my mother and settling down here to start a family. He taught me all about law and order and I learned that most crime and villainy were acts of desperation and fear... done by people that really just need help. There are a lot of people out there that act like those ladies did and I try my hardest to help bring change just like I did for them. It doesn't mean that what they did isn't wrong, but everyone deserves the chance to be good, even if it takes more effort to get there."
Michael ran a hand along his latex scalp, sighing with a gentle hope for a better world. "A lot of people think my way of doing things is hopeless, that there just isn't that much good in people as I believe. And maybe they're right that I'm too trusting and try too hard to help the ones people say are monsters or lost causes, but I don't believe anyone is beyond help and I want to give them the chance regardless. I know that there are much less monsters in the world than people believe." They arrived at the shelter and Michael felt embarrassed having been talking so long. Yes, this was a view that he was very passionate about but he shouldn't just dump it on everyone. Especially when Yoko was already proving his point and putting good out into the world by helping this lost cat.

The Path to Redemption
Michael held the umbrella over Yoko's head to block the rain cloud once. She was clearly in distress; emphasized even more by her gradual transformation. She wouldn't even look up at Michael as she took back her belongings he had brought to her. The harsh words of the bullies behind him didn't impact him, but to see Yoko in such pain and fear hit hard. She was practically begging for him to help.
Earlier, he hadn't responded to her predictions of his failure, that his dreams were too big for someone like him, for someone with a monster quirk. But she hadn't meant just him... His bright (nonapparent) eyed optimism was a lost cause for people like them. The both of them. He hadn't been able to refute that claim before these hooligans had arrived and caused such a scene. But now... now that he knew she needed it all the more, Michael was ready to prove to her just why the world needed people with dreams like his. He was ready to be a hero.
"Don't worry. It'll be okay. I've got this." Michael said softly to Yoko with that same gentle confidence that he gave the kitten that was trapped up the tree. He turned back towards the bullies, standing like a sturdy barricade between Yoko and the girls.
"Excuse me miss, but I'd advise against that." As Michael began to walk towards the bullies he spoke in a very calm if not enthusiastic tone as he began to educate them. "After all, she has a hero license. She has permitted authorization to use her quirk. Yourself on the other hand... well, not only using your quirk a misdemeanor, but using it in order to steal someone else's property would classify as Villainous Quirk Usage. A rather serious felony here in Japan, especially when in connection to harassment, battery and possible hate crime as you committed by singling out Ms. Yoko. That elevates that VQU charge to a first degree offense. That's a minimum of 5 years. But of course you did it twice, once for the umbrella and again for when you took her license. So double that."
He now stood directly in front of the group of girls with his hands in his pockets, sighing sympathetically as he continued. "We don't even want to get into the fact that you girls could be roped in under the Henchperson Code and be tried as accessories to her felonies. And by having henchpeople, no offense intended ladies, that could easily upgrade your offenses to Organized Criminal and Villainous Acts. And even if you are acquitted, which in all fairness is unlikely due to the country's strict zero tolerance on organized crime and villainy, you will be on a villain registry for no less than 6 months of probation and 400 hours of Villainous rehabilitation and counselling. I know its overly harsh for a system, but the lawmakers claim its a greater deterrent to not even be in a situation that would get you accused of being in a Villainous Orgaization."
Michael's tone was still very friendly, despite the rather terrifying truth that the law could easily be turned against them. "We aren't children anymore, so there are harsh consequences for doing immature and cruel actions against one another. We're expected to grow up and be able to function and cooperate as a society, but its not always fair. I know that it's easier to bend or break the rules to our own benefit or satisfaction or to lash out at someone or something. But that only leads to pain, for everyone."
Michael's tone shifted to a compassionate seriousness as he took his hands out of his pockets to emphasis his sentiment. "If you wish to continue to be villains, I will stop you, for your own good, I will stop you. But if you are willing to trust me, I can do everything in my power to help you through your fears and feelings so that you can be a happy and helpful member of the community. I will help each of you on your path to redemption. All that it takes is a little empathy and the willingness for change."
Michael's offer was friendly and charitable, despite the looming legal threat of a minimum of 10 years in prison. He really didn't want them to fall to the ways of villainy, so he would guide them on their path to rehabilitation and redemption, even if they had to get arrested to start that. "What do you say? You can start by helping us get this lost kitten to a shelter for safety. Then we can work towards apologizing and making amends for all the bad you've done."
Notes & Tags: Yanai Yoko TLDR: Michael attempted to rehabilitate the bullies by pointing out the very real threat of legal action being used against them for their villainous behaviors and actions and that he would help them become better people.

Riding the Wave
Emi's gauntlets were incredible. A perfect way to use her strength from a distance without it being excessive or easily countered. Michael luckily still had speed on his side allowing him to circle her quick enough to avoid another punch she threw at him. His first method of combating this gadget was working. That was until Emi deployed another way to attack. Blasting the air down so that it shot out around her in a full radial attack was brilliant. However this was when Michael's second method to avoid the attacks came into play.
As the wave of air pulsed out from Emi, Michael threw himself towards the young woman. However, rather than just hitting into the weaker wall of air, Michael spread himself out flatter with his slightly elongated body. As the air flowed towards him, he was actually lifted up and over the wall like surf board on a wave.
Michael was actually very adept at combating against air based attacks as his mother's quirk was gas generation and manipulation. Understanding aerodynamics was a necessity in being able to stand against her. So by riding the boundary layer of air created when the pressurized air pushed against the stationary air, Michael was actually pushed over the impending attack much like a fly being pushed out of the way of a hand trying to swat it.
Michael moved quickly as he was rolled over the wave of air and launched an arm at Emilia. He didn't attempt anything like a punch, going for the gauntleted arm she just punched with, looking to grab hold of her to slingshot himself at her. With her quirk he wouldn't be able to do much in the lines of harming her with a punch or a body slam even if he wanted to cause harm, but this would be his best chance to try coiling her up with his rubbery limbs in order to incapacitate her.
Notes & Tags: Emilia Hall | TLDR: Michael used aerodynamics to ride the boundary layer over Emi's punch's air pressure AoE and then attempt to launch himself at her to get her into a submission hold.

Out of Gas
Michael grimaced as he rolled onto his back as Jun knelt down near him. His body stung but it was more embarrassing than painful with how it all ended there. He continued to pant softly, his body filling out with each breath like a bike pump. "I'll... be fine... I've... just never tried that move before..." Michael chuckled through the discomfort. It wasn't too long before he was inflated enough that he was able to sit up. His muscles were sore, but there wasn't any real injury.
"Ingenuity and flexibility is kind of what I've worked on the most. A lot of my peers growing up laughed at the idea of me being a hero, especially one that didn't like to hurt people, so I had to think differently in order to show I could handle it. Thanks for taking it easy on me back there, I wasn't sure what much I could do against a quirk like that without trying to harm you. It's nice to know I likely wouldn't have been able to regardless." He laughed playfully.
He was unaware just how close he was to actually catching her off guard, but with his nature it was unclear what he would have been able to do even if he had stuck the landing of that last move. He didn't have the instincts to take out an opponent physically and even with these sparring practices he wasn't sure if he'd ever feel comfortable doing so...
Now sitting up, Michael took some deep breaths and got back to full size. His muscles were cramping up badly now. He needed some water and a good rest, so he was glad their spar was over. He was hopeful from her saying she had a good idea of where to go with him from here. If he could learn to be as versatile as she was, he might be able to find ways to stop a target as quick and painlessly as possible.
Michael forced himself to his feet with a drawn out groan. "Oooookay... I'm off to the nurse's. Thank you for today. I learned a lot and am looking forward to more." Michael said to Jun. He was going to extend a handshake but with her aversion, he gave a light wave/salute instead to wish her goodbye.
Notes & Tags: junsuina | TLDR: Michael's plan worked, but he isn't strong enough to carry through after words and cramps up splayed out on the ground like a dying balloon.
