After swinging down her sword with all her might, Anya shook out her left hand as that thermite grenade did a lot more damage to her than she thought. She took a moment to look over the palm, with it still smoldering from the grenade. If one of those landed on her directly, she wasn't even sure what she could do to deal with it. [break][break] Luckily, it didn't seem like this would come to fruition as the familiar tactile response from her blade that radiated up the avatar gave her the familiar sense she felt a dozen times before - blade carving through flesh. She breathed a sigh as she let down her guard. Even if Retsu could survive something like that, she wouldn't be a threat to anyone else with a shattered body like that.[break][break] The fatal mistake Anya would make was assuming Retsu would go down and stay down.[break][break] The world around her slowed to a crawl as the thermobaric grenade ripped into her, the searing of her flesh causing her to scream out in pain. When the fuel had dispersed what was left was Anya with visible bones and blood pooling on the ground in front of her. In one final act of defiance, the avatar, whose form warped to represent a large skeleton, was condensed into a single large hand. 'If there's a hell, I'll see you there.' She couldn't speak, but before she crumbled, she slammed the hand down as hard as she could. If she was going to die, she'd at least take Retsu with her. [break][break]

Sure her avatar was useful in the ground but it didn't let her get around any faster, and Anya wasn't exactly quick on her feet.[break][break] "Good question. I'm a bit of a late bloomer. For most of my childhood, I thought my quirk was that I could just grow a little bit but it took until I was almost 20 for my quirk to work properly." She would have continued but the sound of sirens closing in meant that they'd need to give a statement soon. The light was disorienting but once she took a moment she could see clearly again. Unfortunately for her this meant the thermite grenade made it's mark and Anya would slam her open palm down in an attempt to smother it, only to have to not go out.[break][break] With her effectively trapped, she opted to release the arm from her thrall, letting the burning thermite fall to the ground, and with the shots that rang out, she was able to dodge two, with the third lodging itself in her leg. In retaliation, Anya would summon her full avatar behind her, and with a blade in hand, she would swing down at Retsu, aiming to squash her like a bug. Sure, Anya was hurt but in her eyes someone like Retsu was probably hurting even more. That dent she made clearly wasn't for show.[break][break]

Retsu was no exception as Anya's expression hardened but otherwise didn't have anything left. Negotiations were over; that was clear.[break][break] While not being fast on her feet, Anya was fairly good at reacting in close combat, and Retsu, who seemed to have a death wish, was making her job easier. Planting her right foot, she would lean into her strike with the left hand, and as it got closer to Retsu, she would open the palm to strike out at her with more surface area. Assuming she wasn't quick to dodge that it would send her flying back, Anya wasn't the type to hold back.[break][break] Given Retsu's grenade penchant, she didn't seem like the type either. Well, of course, she wasn't. She was a terrorist. Subtly wasn't exactly big with those types. Manifesting her second arm, she couldn't do anything about the E.M.P., which she didn't realize was an E.M.P., but she didn't have much to worry about there. As for the other, she would attempt to catch it once more, not aware that it was about to detonate, and assuming she did, it wasn't exactly blinding, but her translucent giant purple arms didn't exactly filter light too well. She'd have to be more careful.[break][break]

She was just like the other Matsui, just like Sho. A facade to mask her true intentions: "Negotiations? More like giving you a lifeline. I'm not like-" The frag grenade wasn't something she would miss as the arc it flew made its target pretty clear. Manifesting a large arm, she would reach forward and snatch the grenade out of the air.[break][break] As it detonated, she would open the palm and let the fragments fall to the ground, the smoke emanating from her own hand as the damage was partially reflected on her own. "I'm not like other heroes." She finished her statement before winding up and using her manifested arm to throw a punch in Retsu's direction. [break][break]

She had spent most of her time outside of patrols attempting to track down the criminal Bakuretsu to make her pay for her crimes. Of course, her secondary goal was leveraging the connection she had with The Mummy and, therefore, Gyrfalcon. Bakuretsu was infamous at this point and Anya intended to bring her to justice or Retsu would die. [break][break] Her sidekick, John, had confirmed that Retsu and her "friend" were currently at the trainyard, no doubt doing something illegal. "John, stay back for now, but when this idiot doesn't surrender, go after her buddy." He would nod and move off to the side as Anya drew her blade and approached Retsu, stopping at the same distance she would. "Not a chance." Her energy would flare up, surrounding her in a light purple aura as she prepared for the inevitable fight. Bakuretsu was hellbent on an early death, and Anya would oblige if she had to. With Mai unaccounted for on this battlefield, it was just her and Supernova, whom Anya didn't expect to get taken down easily. Hell even from what she had seen with him on the news he was a tank that no one even herself would be able to take on in a 1v1.[break][break] She was so focused on Jun she didn't see Freja coming. Especially with not as simplistic as a grappling hook from a bat. The metal smacked her on the cheek but provided not much more than a glancing blow, leaving a slight scuff mark. "See, she's got the right idea." she would rub off the mark. "You do what you can to gain an advantage over your opponent." Her head would drift up to Jack's loud display and even louder voice "And if you're trying to throw someone off their guard you do it like her, not him." She didn't worry too much about catching Supernova; from this distance, it was fairly easy to avoid him landing on her. They were surrounded now but not necessarily outgunned...well, that was until Jun finally got her shit together. [break][break] Energy would swell up around Anya as she took the onslaught head-on, confident that in a battle of breaking through her defenses she wouldn't lose. She didn't anticipate the ground collapsing beneath her, and she would fall into the pit, forming smoke billowing from the exit. Taking a page out of Kazashi's book, she didn't say anything for dramatic effect until a large hand from her avatar gripped the side of the pit, and with her on the shoulder, it rose to its full height. Anya was smoldering as part of the damage had been reflected on her body. "When you go on the attack against a particularly persistent villain, you need to go about it with the intent to kill." She would raise her blade, the massive one being reflected in the actions of her own avatar before she would exhale, and the entire thing would disappear with her landing on her feet back on the ground. "That being said, this is where I drop out; you 'heroes' got me! Supernova, the rest is up to you!" Her demeanor had shifted from battle-ready to a much more amiable look as she gave them a wave before gesturing to Supernova. Compared to her, he was much MUCH more powerful.[break][break]

He would charge at Anya in an attempt to make a break for it, but she didn't move instead a giant arm would materialize behind her and grab the horn of the large mutant before lifting him and slamming him into the ground. Once she saw that it was unconscious, she would turn to Akira, "That's what I can do. I'll give the cops a call." taking out her phone, she put out a ping to send police to their location. She would manifest the arm of her avatar and lift her own arm to open the palm as a makeshift umbrella, the lasers bouncing off of the hand for the most part and the others being absorbed into the avatar. [break][break] After hearing Recall's message and intention to leave the battlefield, she would return her full attention to Jun. "Having faith is one thing, but you need to have the power to back it up." Anya would shoot back even with the smokescreen, it was easy enough to see Jun's quirk in action as she watched her use it repeatedly. Anya would move the arm she created to be wrapped up in the chains that pulled her along with it but ultimately left her able to act. Once she hit the ground she would open her palm on the avatar and grip the chains as tightly as possible before giving them a solid flick to make Jun have to 'ride the bull' so to speak. [break][break] "Little occupied here." She relays on comms as she continues her tug of war with Jun before invoking the full avatar with a corporeal blade as well. If they were going to be true villains, then she'd do her best to sell it. [break][break] tl;dr Anya blocks most of the laser from Supernova with her own quirk, uses it to block Jun's chains and then attempts to use the chains in a tug of war to throw Jun off.

[break][break] In the most open area of the simulation was Anya, alone. Well, she wasn't exactly alone as a 20-foot-tall imposing purple avatar stood behind her. She faced a dozen or so students with the plan of drawing as many as she could, and it worked perfectly. If anything, Recall was an excellent strategist, and Glepnir was great at predicting actions when it came to what would drive the students. It was like a moth to a flame and a particularly dangerous flame.[break][break] One by one the students would drop Anya was holding back enough not seriously to injure them but enough that they'd feel the weight of her strikes. The last one standing would be Masao who made a passionate speech as "heroes" would. "Villains don't show mercy. They'll take you down without hesitation." She would raise a fist as the avatar behind her did the same. "You did well, Hero." She would swing as the arm did the same and smash through Masao's shield and send her flying.[break][break] With this battlefield secure, she needed to follow the plan and back up the others. If Recall and Glepnir's plan was as solid as this one, the smarter and more experienced students would have converged at her location to remove their line of communication. As she took a higher path, she arrived just in time to see the shots from Jun fired at Iphi. With Apparel, Yuki Onna, and Glepnir all busy dealing with their opponents, it was up to her to intervene. The less pressure on Iphi, the better they would all do. She would leap onto the battlefield, manifesting a large arm to block the fire, the resulting damage showing in a lighter form on her own arm, and she continued forward, pulling out her temporary sword that was blunt on both sides. The arm would manifest the same blade, which was also blunt, and swing in a sweeping motion to smash through Jun's defenses (and her) if she didn't move. "You really think we'd let our villainous mastermind go down without a fight? You heroes are so naive!" [break][break]
