Ruri's reactions had been far more extreme than Tamaya had been expecting. Despite the fact that it was clearly getting her coworker's mind off things she was starting to feel guilty about it. Absently strumming her guitar Tamaya tried to backpedal. "N-no, these are like. I mean, this one's like, a good ghost, you know what I'm saying? Like a guardian angel, one of those sent down by dead re-"She stopped herself with an awkward laugh before her foot could go any further into her mouth. It was good that the evening gloom was obscuring her faint blush lest she turn the shade of a tomato should Ruri notice it. Changing the subject away from her blunder Tamaya did her best to hide her embarrassment. "A-anyway, how's your singing? Don't mind the lyrics if you don't know the song. Just sing y'r heart out!"

What in the face of an angler fish was that? Tamaya's determination doubled. Her hunch had been right. She could go all out too, no amount of blows would make that mug look any uglier. Even shitty clouds like these had their silver lining, Tamaya supposed. "Bring it, fishhead!"Rocks fell but Tamaya wasn't everyone so she didn't die. Having skipped her lessons in the Prometheus school of running away from things Tamaya spun to the side to avoid the projectile, her arms lashing out along with her sideways turn giving the impression of a spinning top mixed with a wacky waving inflatable tube guy. Her first limb struck at the debris to ensure it was fully knocked off course in case her dodge wasn't enough and her second struck out towards Yoko once more as she came to a stop. She didn't stay stationary, immediately beginning to step backwards to try and stay out of the muscular figure's reach. That it took her closer and closer to the ocean Tamaya was blissfully unaware of.

Tamaya's lips twitched. Taking a deep breath and doing her best to keep a straight face she shrugged. "Like them? Hmm, well, hard to say. It's better if I do though, after all," she continued as she briefly looked Ruri in the eye. "I'm in one."Adjusting her guitar case so she could pull out the guitar in question Tamaya pointedly stayed quiet for a moment as if deep in thought. In truth she was simply trying her damnedest not to burst out laughing. Closing the case back up she hung it over her back once more and made sure the guitar's strap wasn't twisted before she continued. The way that thing dug into her shoulder when it got twisted was a massive pain. Putting the thought aside she pointed a thumb over her shoulder. "Don't tell me ya can't see it? I thought everyone could?" Tamaya asked while choking back laughter, bringing her hand down and beginning to strum away on the strings for ambiance. She'd struck gold. If this wasn't getting Ruri's mind off things she didn't know what would. "This tale begins quite a while back..."

Shit had gone to hell in a handbasket and it'd done so hella quick. One moment Tamaya was just sitting in the shade and strumming away at her guitar, the next her performance had been overshadowed by screaming. She'd leapt to action without thought or hesitation and found herself facing the most outrageous enemy. One so outlandish she couldn't have imagined it would give her any problem in a million years. Fish fingers. She wasn't gonna elaborate on what that foe had looked like, why she was out of breath nor the reason for the new bruises all over her. Tamaya had always thought it was silly that there were so many paintings of medieval knights fighting snails but after this skirmish she'd have much preferred to face one of those instead. But she digressed. The point was that shit was going down, quirk fuckery abounded and someone was gonna have to pay for it. Whatever megalomaniac would do something like this was bound to be basking in the fucked up fruits of their labors somewhere nearby, probably being really extra while preparing to ramble on about their master plan. Something like walking through the fleeing masses, towards the scene instead of away from it, splitting the parting crowd as if it were the sea. Perhaps with an umbrella in hand to set them apart from the masses or with some fancy metaphoric aid right before they make their messed up demands, like a cloud to symbolize 'when it rains it pours' or something. ''Hey shithead, call the police already.''Motherfu- "Oy, fuckface. Don't think y'll get away with this!" Tamaya spat as she went on the attack, transforming her arms to have the range she needed from where she stood on the short stretch of beach nearly half a dozen meters away. With a sideflip she added momentum to her downward strike, setting one limb on a collision course with Yoko's head and the other towards the monster beside her.

Of all the holidays there were, Obon was perhaps the one that Tamaya hated the most. With a history long enough to fill a book the ‘Shirayuki lineage’ had quite a few graves to visit and as staunch traditionalists they made a big deal of going with the entire family. Luckily if there was one thing the entire ghost-worshipping family put more value in than their past it was fulfilling whatever duties they had taken on so Tamaya had managed to get out of it rather easily by letting them know she had several long shifts at her part time job. Of course she wasn’t gonna mention that she’d specifically asked the manager for them nor that she had to switch shifts with a few of her coworkers to actually get those double shifts three days in a row. It wasn’t like anyone in their entire immediate family had worked anywhere other than some kind of decrepit dojo anyway, how were they gonna call her out on it? Not like they knew how anything in modern society worked. Hells, her own sister barely knew how to use a cellphone and the midget was barely five years older than her. A cellphone. This small thing that had just, you know, been a cornerstone of all kinds of communication for more than a century now. It was utter madness. How she managed an entire agency when it'd taken her hours, several crayons and enough exasperation from Tamaya to last her a few years to understand why she'd need to install a proper, modern internet connection in their office boggled the mind. Fate had a funny way of making things happen regardlessly however. The coworker she did have a shift alongside was going for a visit to her parents and Tamaya would’ve been a horrible friend if she’d let her go alone, regardless of whether Ruri asked her to come along or not. “You holding up?” Tamaya asked bluntly once Ruri was done, pushing herself off the tree she’d been leaning against just far enough away from her coworker to not intrude on the private moment. “Let’s go for a walk. A bit of fresh air never ki- hurt anyone.”
She only narrowly managed to catch her awful phrasing. That was close. Far too close for her liking. Tamaya hadn’t lost anyone close to her personally but she couldn’t begin to imagine how much it’d hurt if she did. Even if it was Mai. She tried to find a way to change the subject into something more lighthearted to help take Ruri’s mind off such horrible memories and promptly proceeded to put her foot in her mouth. “Hey, would ya happen to like ghost stories?”

Shirayuki Tamaya is free-spirited and has a tendency to go where the wind carries her. Being firmly against any and all authority, especially when said authority tries to tell her what to do, Tamaya tends to solve whatever problems she encounters her own way without relying on others. Her strong belief in her ability to take matters into her own hands means she will stand up for what she believes is right no matter what kind of trouble it could get her into. As a bit of a thrill seeker Tamaya tends to act first and think second, often resulting in her coming off as brash, loud and arrogant. Her habit of immediately firing back when criticized regardless of whether the criticism is valid or not certainly doesn't help her case. Regardless of what misfortune may come her way Tamaya rarely stays down, returning to being a bundle of energy and getting all up in everyone's business before long. She usually wears something along the lines of a crop top and short shorts supplemented with a red leather jacket -because leather jackets are the exception to her rule- and black walking boots. Additionally she rarely leaves home without at least one of her guitars, a case slung over her shoulder wherever she goes.  Tamaya's quirk causes her arms to transform into large watery appendages that she can control. For reasons she isn't aware of the transformation affects any fabrics she is wearing on her arms as well but has no effect on anything else she is holding or wearing. Due to the fabrics she is wearing on her arms while using her quirk somehow remaining wet when her arms transform back Tamaya prefers not to wear anything with sleeves other than her signature red leather jacket.  When operating as a vigilante Tamaya either wears an outfit that isn't too dissimilar to her normal one albeit with more reds and blacks or a stylized red and black sleeveless martial artist's outfit adorned with golden dragons (see image above 'Overview'). Her transformation rings also store a full set of metal armor with red accents and a removable helmet.  [attr="class","body"] [attr="class","header2"]HISTORY  When faced with intense pressure some rise to the occasion and others grow to loathe those that forced the responsibilities on them. Growing up with a more successful older sister Tamaya's every action was always compared to her and before long she'd grown completely sick of it and rebelled. As with all such things it started small. Refusing to stick to the tight schedules the Shirayuki family set for their progenies, delinquent behaviour, skipping school and wandering the streets. Eventually she moved away from even the Shirayuki martial art styles and adopted more foreign ones such as Capoeira and even branched out far past it with other hobbies such as parkour. It is in one such hobby that she eventually found her passion. Rock and Roll. Playing her guitar was when she felt most alive and the fact that the noise irritated her traditionalist family certainly added to her fun. What Tamaya loved the most about it was how freeing it was. Just her and her guitar. Putting her heart and soul into her music, a scream out into the void that proclaimed who she was and that she was here to stay, no matter how much others tried to change her. The statement became her purpose and her way of life. Whether it be through indie rock concerts, underground fighting rings or challenging dojos Tamaya was determined to prove herself and make her mark upon the world. It even extended into the world of heroes and villains. Much like her sister she had a strong sense of justice but unlike Mai she didn't put nearly as much faith in the institutions and powers that be, choosing to as always blaze her own trail instead.
