"Yu-chan, is this all really necessary?" Not only was Kawahara a complete failure at life but she was especially bad at the business side of Yugure's life. Plus, she didn't like this kind of stuff. It was easier just to be Sparkle. "You're always messing with me! This better not be a prank!!" she puffed out her cheeks, pouting in defiance of her older sister. She was always great at coming up with plans and was a perfect role model - the complete opposite of Kawahara in every way [break][break]
"Lets see.." She would hold up five fingers and began to put them down one by one as she shared the past few weeks with "I got hit by a bus chasing a criminal. "I've never seen her smoking, but then again we haven't lived together since we were kids so maybe she took it up?" It was true Yugure was just a bit older than Kawahara and had moved out of their parent's home earlier. She did visit from time to time, but between her vigilante activities and running a business, she didn't come around much. Instead, Kawahara would visit her often, usually to watch movies or when she spent all her money on pachinko and needed food. [break][break]
"Okay but like that one wasn't my fault!! It was a sure thing!" It wasn't. It never was. With an exaggerated pout, Kawahara took another sip of her drink and helped herself to another slice of pizza. If there was one thing that girl could do it was eat, especially when she was having struggle meals nearly every day. "Aww, life senpai!" she would move across the table and pull Yoko into a tight hug. "My favorite kohai!" Her only kohai no one would follow Kawahara anywhere once they learned how she lived her life.[break][break]
"You know you should learn the purple hat's name, especially if they're a regular. Sometimes people give you tips!" No, no, that's not how it worked AT ALL. "From what Yu-chan tells me they're a really bad guy! Shifting back and forth uncomfortably as Tamaya began to speak, Kawahara would shriek 'I'm in one' and cling to her much smaller coworker, "No, no, no!" She'd shake her head and cower as Tamaya brought out...a guitar? [break][break]
"Ooh a song!" Immediately getting over her fear she was prepared for a good song. Tama-chan did tell her during one of their shifts that she knew how to play, which was incredibly impressive. Imagine having a talent, couldn't be her! [break][break]
As Tamaya spoke again about ghosts, Kawahara immediately cowered once more, dropping to her knees and covering her head with her arms. "Tama-chan, this is too scary! Can't we just go to the pachinko parlor instead??"

Oh GREAT. Another stupid plan gone wrong and this time Yu wasn't around to help her out. The dumpster lid closing on her just made her groan out loud, unhurt but trapped in a smelly dumpster. "This suuuuucks. This was my only clean shirt!" Damn, Kawahara, why are you so broke? [break][break]
She would move around til she was facing upright...or at least until she thought she was upright she pushed on the lid. Didn't budge, damn. She'd try again, pushing as hard as she could, only to be saved by the kindness of a stranger, which in turn caused her to fall out of the dumpster, nearly face-first onto the ground. [break][break]
"Oh, thank god!" she let out a sigh of relief, tearing up slightly over the stressful situation she 1000% put herself in. It took her a moment to register that there was even someone standing in front of her "Oh! Hi! Were you the one who lifted that?" She would pull herself out and brush herself off, unaware of a banana peel stuck in her hair. "Thank you! I'm Kawahara-...Sparkle!" Nice, I saved it! No way Farrin would be able to figure out her real identity...wait lass? What a weird way to talk. She'd definitely have to ask him about that once he introduced himself.

"Mhm! It totally is!" She'd point to the corner of her living room to show off her lacrosse stick, which was partially buried under some dirty clothes and bills. She was eating this pizza as if she hadn't eaten in days...which given the state of her fridge wasn't entirely untrue. Aside from getting the leftovers from Yugure two days ago, she had mostly subsisted on snacks and her "still fresh" pickles.[break][break]
She would breeze past Yoko calling her a dumbass, who was she to argue with the sound logic? "Yeah Yugure! She's another bestie...I really should introduce you two! You'd like her she's..." Yugure was a lot of things but most importantly she was someone Kawahara would do anything for. No one, aside from maybe Yoko, knew her better "she's just great! It's hard to explain so I won't!" she'd stuff another slice of pizza into her mouth, finally starting to feel full and would wash it down with the rest of her wine. Oh boy. There was almost a huge misunderstanding. Kawahara's lack of intelligence was exactly why and how she ended up in so many unfortunate situations and compared to her biological deceased parents her 'real' parents were the same way, albeit just slightly more intelligent than her. Even now when debt collectors came looking for Kawahara they would often mistaken them as "friends of their daughter" and send them to her apartment, much to the chagrin of Kawahara. In a way this family was a perfect fit with the different intelligences (or lack thereof) complementing each other. [break][break]
"Hmm? Mama, it's a ghost party! I couldn't go without my costume!" She would shake her oversized sleeves from her homemade costume [made by Yugure].[break][break]
"No, no, Kawa dear, it's Obon is to honor your ancestors. Your friend probably expects you to go to the gravesite and pray for your mom and dad."[break][break]

After a quick outfit change she was off, her scooter nearly out of gas as usual meant that when she got to the bottom of the hill she would have to push it up. Panting when she finally had eyes on her coworker, she would park her scooter and greet with a hearty wave before they'd enter the graveyard and she'd pray to her parents. Yes, they were bad people, but from what she understood, they cared about her. Her debt was a product of their own addiction to gambling so Kawahara couldn't judge.
"Done!" she'd leave her offering on the gravesite and follow Tamaya along. Well until she heard ghost stories and she froze shaking her head back and forth "No no no way too scary!! Don't tell me you like them, Tama."

"Nope!" she was beaming smugly at this point "I played lacrosse so I didn't miss a single day! I had perfect attendance!" Probably the most shocking thing out of that was that was that Kawahara has perfect anything. Life was NOT a fan of her usually and her life just proved that...well that and the crippling gambling addiction. [break][break]
"I owe you one Yo-chan!" More like a million; before Yoko had even managed to hobble over to the door Kawahara was already in her bathroom. She stepped up the toilet seat and pushed open the window and put her upper half through. Unfortunately, that was the only part that would make it through as the window would close on her halfway through trapping her between it. "Oh god not again!!" she would flail her legs trying to wedge herself forward and onto the fire escape. The last time this happened Yugure came by and freed her and the time before that she was stuck out there for two days. [break][break]
Yoko would be greeted by the lower half of Kawahara flailing in the window and assuming she helped her Kawahara would hug her sniffling after she was free "Thank gooood Yo-chan I don't know what I'd do without you." the smell of the pizza got her over her misfortune quickly and she helped herself to a slice "Really? I'll have to tell Yu-chan about this she always has the money for stuff like this." she'd practically unhinge her jaw to eat the pizza as if her life depended on it and helped herself to another slice "So" she would speak up her voice muffled from the food "Have you made any new friends at UAU?"

With the biggest smug look on her face Kawahara took a deliberate sip from her drink trying to act cool. Big emphasis on trying "Sick? I've never been sick, Yo-chan, not even once!" Perhaps it was one of the most impressive feats but she had never gotten a cold from what she could remember. Probably a quirk related, but Kawahara was too dense to realize. [break][break]
The smugness was wiped from her face instantly as she thought about money once again "Okay but like think about this I could spend the money I'm making on little things OR I could win big and pay off all my debt in one go. It's foolproof!" Not it wasn't, she's a fool. "You're too nice Yo-chan! Do you think they'd let me visit you on campus? I can bring snacks next time" she nearly spit out her drink at the prospect of fighting the manager of her favorite pachinko parlor "Ehhh?? No way I don't want to get banned! I'd have to go to the one across town and last time I did that I lost all my money" she would sniffle, tearing up at the idea of doing that again. Seeing the selection of drinks Yoko brought immediately pulled her out of it "Okay, I forgive you." She reached for one of the plum-flavored drinks, a big favorite of hers, cracked it open, taking a sip. Pushing the pickle jar closer to Yoko, as if this was an equal trade she was shocked to be met with another (typical) judgemental look from Yoko "Eh? Is that not good? They're still good...probably." she'd frantically check the expiration date and sigh a breathe of relief. Still good for another week! Although it wouldn't be the first time she got sick from eating something she didn't check on beforehand. [break][break]
"Pizza?!?!" her eyes sparkled in excitement "I'll pay you back I promise I just need to win big toni- uh get my paycheck." Yes big save 10/10 she totally sold that and Yoko would never know. She'd raise her bottle and give Yoko a cheers as they had the same taste after all and taking another swig of her drink she'd set it down. "My week? Well, last night I totally had my favorite pachiko station, and no, I didn't win, but I ALMOST did." she paused for a moment before it clicked that she should probably ask about why Yoko came in on crutches. "Did you hurt yourself? Was it someone at UAU? I'll beat them up for you no one hurts Yo-chan while I'm around!!"

With her head face down on her table Kawahara was barely holding back tears. Another bill? Seriously? Life was too expensive! She'd already asked Yu for an advance on her pay and she wouldn't get her new credit card until next week. Just another to add to the collection in the corner which had reached an impressive height. Oh well. She would stand up and open her fridge. Life happens! There was nothing she could do to change that.[break][break]
A few pickles left in a jar were a good enough lunch! It wasn't like she had many other options, as the rest of the shelves were basically empty aside from leftover food and a few drinks. She was munching when the doorbell rang, and she nearly dropped the jar as she scrambled to get to the door. She paused when she realized there was a good chance it could be another debt collector here to rain on her parade.[break][break]
Checking the peephole, she perked up once she realized it was just Yoko which meant a literal rain on her parade. The door would swing open as she grabbed Yoko's hand and pulled her inside "Yo-chan! Did you bring gifts? You're the best best friend a girl could have!" she'd pull Yoko into a hug despite her inevitable protests. "You hungry? I have uh..." she'd open the fridge and pull out the pickle jar which only had two left "Well, I haven't gone food shopping in a bit so maybe just drinks?" she'd sit down at the table and drum eagerly waiting to see what treats she got this time.

Kawahara’s most dominant traits are her apparent lack of common sense, addictive tendencies, and unwavering belief in herself. (That she SHOULD NOT have). She generally marches at the beat of her drum, unwilling to approach anything delicate or nuanced, instead opting to get directly to the point. She is...well, stupid, but it’s more appropriate to frame this as ignorance as she is willing to learn new things but struggles to understand concepts presented to her in a certain way. Kawahara has an extremely unhealthy gambling addiction with a particular weakness for pachinko machines and card games. She has a nasty habit of taking on any bet presented to her, but her terrible luck usually results in her owing more and more debts. This, in turn, stresses her own, and due to being overly sensitive and a bit of a crybaby, she is trapped in this vicious cycle. Her low intelligence and poor luck are why most of her ideas and actions fail and pile on more debt. While she may not love having to take on work constantly to subsidize this gambling habit, she is surprisingly effective as a vigilante/hired goon. Lastly, Kawahara is a sensitive person. [attr="class","body"] [attr="class","header2"]QUIRK  QUIRK NAME: AlliumQUIRK RANK: C QUIRK TYPE: Mutation/Transformation QUIRK DESCRIPTION: Kawahara's quirk Allium allows her to create strings or rather fuses from her body and by placing these on an object, she can essentially turn the object into a firework. The object/s, when affected, gives the object the properties of a firework in that the fuse will cause the object/s in question to fly off like fireworks and explode into multicolored pyrotechnic displays. While Kawahara can attach her fuses to anything, grounded objects (such as buildings) or organic objects (people) will just experience the explosion projected around them and not shoot off in the direction the fuse is aimed or explodes, like traditional fireworks. This also means that she can control the trajectory when the fireworks are in flight until they detonate. The length of the fuse is directly tied to the size of the resulting explosion, and there is no way to speed up the 'firework' once the fuse is lit. If she makes a small fuse, the resulting display will be largely ineffective, ending up similar to a Bang snaps.. Perhaps the most beneficial part of Allium is that the Kawahara is entirely immune to the fireworks' explosions. They do not affect her in any way. This does not include byproducts from the resulting explosion such as fire spread from them or other explosives being triggered, this only applies to her own fireworks. QUIRK DRAWBACKS: Allium is entirely dependent on a 3-step process to activate that can never be overcome. Kawahara must create the fuse, attach it to whatever object she chooses, and THEN light it. If any part of the process is interrupted, she is effectively quirkless, whether using water to dose the lit fuse or removing it from the object. Allium requires fire or enough heat to start a flame to light the fuse. Like most pyrotechnics, it is entirely ineffective in water or saturated. This includes objects being turned into fireworks as well.
