She wasn't going to go with Retsu even if she offered, she still hadn't been ruled out as an enemy and the chance this was a trap was never zero. In fact she always made sure to get a good vantage point when she showed up to lessen the chance of being caught off guard. Retsu offering to meet her there didn't help her paranoia, but she didn't really have a choice. Djinn didn't offer any alternatives for securing explosives.[break][break]

"Sounds like we're of the same mind." Retsu was much more crass than Olivia was, but she probably understood her more instinctively than anyone else. No matter where you morals lay if you were quirkless you were put in a box, something the two of them clearly didn't like.[break][break]

Loading her handgun and placing her sword on her back she would leave Retsu's storehouse and take the long way, using her skates to move quickly through the night. It was nowhere near the same speed as Retsu's motorcycle. She would arrive, giving it a few minutes before she'd approach Retsu "No need to worry about that. Precision is my game I don't have a life to spare to play around with explosives." She didn't trust Retsu to run off and pull a fast one on her so against her better judgment she would add "The front is fine. Enter and split up?" IF there was a trap at the front they would both be caught in it and if she couldn't prevent herself from dying here mutually assured destruction was the next best option.

[attr="class","pinscroll"]Generally the least booby-trapped and reinforced places in a location were places from above. If someone was to put explosives or other volatile deterrents above them they risked so much more than barricading the entrances. In a world with superpowered people all it took was a hard enough strike to the exterior to start the crumbling of the entire building and death by your hand. Seemed like Retsu had the same thought process as she looked around and could see plenty of spots to keep tripmines or anything else of her creation.[break][break]

"There is a slight level of urgency here. I have a few jobs requiring more than a good weapon." She still held onto the blade in one hand, feeling just as much, if not more, skeptical of Retsu here. [break][break]

A tentative alliance based on necessity was all she was willing to do. Even Amber was someone she had a transactional relationship with. Still, she had more faith in her than anyone else to the point where she would prioritize herself over Amber and THEN everyone else, which for Olivia was about the closest you'd get to being a friend. "A dud as in I don't have a quirk." she would shrug, assuming Retsu knew what she meant "I've never let something like someone else's desires get in the way of what I want before, not going to start now. Lead the way." So far, Djinn's intel proved to be spot on. Whether she could end up using Retsu as a resource going forward depended on how well this little 'excursion' of theirs went.

[attr="class","pinscroll"]It was a long shot, but if Djinn's information was correct then this "Bakuretsu" was the best explosives expert in all of Tokyo. If there was anyone who could get her an E.M.P then it would be them and yet Olivia was skeptical. Djinn emphasized that she might find Bakuretsu "very interesting" which usually meant trouble. Even still she had a goal in mind and nothing would get in the way of what she wanted.[break][break]

She stuck to the rooftops as she approached the location Djinn specified to her. She still wasn't sure that this wasn't a trap so when the building was in view instead of approaching from the top she would enter from the roof. Carving a small hole as delicately and quietly as she can she would slip in and land gently on the rafters. 'Well, she's definitely an explosives expert,' she thought to herself as she scanned the room below, seeing discarded and half-complete explosives, some she recognized and others being entirely foreign to her. Once she got a good look at who she presumed was Bakuretsu she would drop down, leaving a decent amount of distance between the two of them.[break][break]

"Bakuretsu. Djinn sent me and told me you can make explosives."[break][break]

Technically, E.M.Ps were explosives, just not the kind in which she would have expected Retsu to have experience. Even though she tried to approach amiably she would still keep a firm grip on the hilt of her Armor-Piercer ready to strike out if Retsu turned out to be more hostile than anticipated.

NEW DESCRIPTION: 'Armor-Piercer’ is a scimitar with a curved hilt and a unique design. It is split into multiple segments, each with a small sharp protrusion on both sides. The segments are connected by a stretchable thread, making Armor-Piercer more useful as a whip than an actual sword; however, it can serve as a regular sword just as easily. The entire process is mechanical, with a ratchet on the hit that can be manipulated by the thumb or fingers. It is used to pull back on the whip to collapse it into a sword or let it loose so the pieces will split when swung. As a weapon, these properties make it difficult to duel against as Olivia can switch it up without rhyme or reason.

[attr="class","pinscroll"]With her task finished Olivia began her usual post-mortem process - looting. The reason she liked to use weapons that provided clean cuts and left bodies mostly intact was this exact process. It was how she amassed an entire arsenal back home and pocketed more than her fair share of cash. She would take wallets and anything that she could find worth some value, wiping off the blood before pocketing it. She would move through the doorway and make her way down, weapon still in hand, until she reached the same place as Elias. [break][break]

"Yes. I have a full list of modifications for the weapon."[break][break]

She would take out her burner phone and open it up to contacts, handing it to Elias if he agreed to put in the best contact number. From then on, it would be a matter of begrudgingly handing over the weapon; she didn't trust him just like she didn't trust anyone. However, if there was one thing she lived by, it was this: 'Relying on people and loyalty are entirely different things.'
If he held up his end of the deal, they would be in business, if not? Well...lets just hope he didn't have to find out.

[attr="class","pinscroll"]It was odd. She knew she cut the members of the gang in two and yet visually they didn't appear bisected on the ground. Perhaps their quirks didn't deactivate on death? That all too familiar smell of rust permeated the space, and the reaction by Elias on the comms seemed to indicate they were truly disposed of. If there was something special about them, he likely would have spoken up.[break][break]

"More for the test, then."[break][break]

Olivia was nothing if not consistent. If doing this meant that she'd get the ideal weapon she wanted to test her usual maneuvers first. Moving over the bodies she'd enter the charred stairway, catching one of the gang moving in her direction. From the shadow of the staircase she would wait until this person passed a support. She would step forward and shoot her blade out in a straight line intentionally missing the grunt who readied his gun. Before he could shoot, Olivia quickly flick her wrist, which caused the blade to change direction and head back towards the man's blind spot, cleaving through his chest and without missing a beat she would move towards her next victim, pulling the 'Armor-Piercer' with her.[break][break]


"A little slow on the return."

[attr="class","pinscroll"]It was the ideal situation for Olivia. New to Japan, but not new to this lifestyle her instincts led her to exactly where she needed to be. Having nothing better to do and a lack of her arsenal and Amber, she immediately found the seediest place in town. She would shake down a few people who underestimated her as just a 'little girl', and yet the two before this one ended up in the hospital for their naivety.[break][break]

"Hibernacula? Ya, I'll take the side entrance."[break][break]

The benefit of being quirkless was that Olivia could blend into a crowd and get past specific sensors. Her senses sharpened as she didn't have a fallback. If she got injured, it hurt; if she fought, it wasn't easy. Still, the boss of this place was amiable, and when Olivia laid out her situation, they came to a deal, one where she would benefit the most. Testing the first of her new arsenal and doing work she already did for a living? No prob.[break][break]


She would pull up her mask to cover the lower half of her face and inspect the building and her new 'Armor-Piercer,' giving it a couple of swings. It functioned nearly identically, but she could tell that she'd need some adjustments on the hilt and that the high-tensile steel wire that made up the whip would need to be exchanged for carbon steel. It was pricey, but everything down to the last detail should be perfect. If one slips up, she dies. [break][break]


Pulling herself up the wall flexibly, she landed on a burned-out window frame, catching a group of three huddled around a small desk. She would thrust the 'Armor-Piercer' as a blade before flicking her wrist down and splitting the segments that dug into the first person, and Olivia pulled on the weapon again, making a jagged tear across the man's chest.[break][break]

"Hey. I'll need upgrades to the sharpness of the blade that should have split the man in two on the first tug."[break][break]

Bouncing off the window and into the darkness of the room, she took a few moments to watch them. What were these criminals capable of, and why did the Wish-maker need them gone?
