Under normal circumstances, Sebastian would just concede that he was a snake, but he couldn't afford to do that under the watchful eyes of the examiners. In this scenario, he had no choice but to double down on his bullshit.
"Eh? It's not about the points though...Probably. The points are an illusion meant to pit as against each other so that we don't cooperate! Besides, even if it's not a trick to put as against each other...I don't want to be a hero if the job disincentivizes cooperation. We're all on the same side, remember?"
Oh god, he really wanted to vomit. Of course, Sebastian didn't entirely believe the bullshit he was spitting. The points had to matter because they wouldn't refuse so many applicants if they didn't matter. There wasn't a doubt in his mind that U.A. received a bunch of goody-two-shoe applicants that actually believed the shit that Sebastian was peddling. If, however, on the offhand that he was right on the money, then he was already playing to that angle. He had both sides covered!
"Woah, really!? You can do that!?" he gasped.
Another person to split the points with. Perfect. All he needed to do was convince her that she should work on assisting the giant guy in taking down the bad guy. Right on cue, the villain arrived, making the situation much easier for him to spin his way favorably.

All she needed to do was buy the lie—just enough to get her off of his back, so that he could continue loafing around until the day of their competition when he'd be able to cash out of this bitch for...Whatever it was that he was going to demand of Gen.
"Why would I? What's the point of fighting you? All that's going to do is get me all gross and sweaty. That's just icky, and I can't sleep optimally if I feel icky. Then I'd have to clean up, take a shower, and then after that I'd be hungry. It'd be this massive endeavor that I really just don't want to go through," he shook his head, pulling the headband back down over his eyes all while maintaining his lackadaisical sing-song tone.
He turned around, put his hand back on the invisible trampoline, and looked in her direction—though he couldn't actually see anything—standing to face only the side of his body to her. "Nah, I'm climbing back into this here hammock, and I'm going to sleep," he yawned. Then he stomped the ground, turning the whole thing into a trampoline while sending a wave through the ground to get it all roiling like a series of waves in the ocean. "Because the exam is a joke, Miroru," he replied, dropping the sing-song tone. "That test isn't a good measure for who's worthy of attending U.A. It's a sham. If it really was this impossibly difficult test, then a slacker like me would've never made it this far. Seriously, I busted my ass for like a month after not doing anything for six whole years, and I was able to make it into U.A."
Headband down, he put a hand to peel it off while raising his other hand, pointing a finger at Miroru. "Absolutely nothing," he smiled, putting up an invisible elastic air trampoline barrier right in front of him in anticipation of a lightning bolt. By the time he lifted his mask, however, he saw that it was a foot and not a bolt of lightning.
