''No way? You too.'' She smirked, she felt so much safer having shared that with Farrin after hearing his response. ''Yeah, something like that. We can't all be born into ideal situations.'' She left that statement purposefully vague, choosing not to pry about his past as it didn't sound like he had an easy time either. If anything, the fact that he had told her this already explained more about how he could fight so efficiently, so viciously. It wasn't just something he learned from hero prep school.

She gave a casual shrug, feeling a bit embarrassed about how she handled her fight with Dancer. In her mind, she could have done better, but it was always easier to think about all that stuff in hindsight. ''The way I learned how to fight, it was a fight for survival, I guess. In any case, I couldn't have done it without your quirk. Does that have a name, by the way? When you share your quirk with others.'' To her it seemed like some kind of extra cool super move.

''You're flashy!'' The gator cackled as Farrin fired up his quirk. ''I like you! Let's have a little fun!'' Choosing to ignore Freja completely, the gator pursued Farrin as he lunged forward and tried to bring his jaws down around him. ''C'mere!''

Once the dust settled, Freja could finally see what was going on. She had been thrown straight through the trunk of a tree that had been felled in the process. She was bleeding from her head, but to make matters worse she had gone through the tree hand first, meaning one hand was completely broken on impact, or at least she assumed so from the pain and how unresponsive it was. ''I-I'm okay!'' She panted, pushing herself up without putting pressure on the broken hand. Her bat was still all the way over there. Who was this gator anyway? No one Freja recognized. If he had been summoned through crows like the other ones, no doubt Freja would have noticed.

...Could he be an assassin? An assassin sent by The Spiders?

''F-Farrin look out! He's strong!'' Once she got back up she started to run towards her bat.

Farrin

Was it? Was it good to see her? She really wasn't disturbing Futaba in the middle of work or anything? ''Thank you, sensei!'' Futaba wasn't exactly a hero teacher, but she still wanted to pay respect. If anything, Freja respected Futaba way more than she did some of her other teachers. Freja was a little sheepish in her movements, but eventually went to sit down as offered. ''Well..'' She sighed, ''I guess it's me?'' She looked down shamefully.

''I know powers aren't everything and that there's more to being a hero, or even being a person, but I can't help but feel... Lesser than everyone else. Like the fact that I don't have powers is somehow my fault, you know?'' She glanced up at Futaba, but only for a second. ''I've been having trouble getting jobs because of it too. Even though quirks don't matter on the job, lots of people don't want me when they could have someone with a quirk instead.'' She tightened the grip on the book she was holding a little bit. ''I know I shouldn't let it bother me, but I was wondering.. Sensei,'' she could feel herself growing more and more nervous asking a personal question like this. ''Have you ever tried something like that? I-I don't know a lot of quirkless people like me..'' In Freja's mind, Futaba had it all figured out. Nice job, she was as cool as could be, but it probably hadn't always been that way.

Futaba Tamashiro

''What?'' He liked what she said? Was he for real? Did he not hear how embarrassing her question was? ''Right..'' She gave him a suspicious look as he talked about the speech. ''Uh-'' Was she supposed to intervene when he slapped himself? Maybe this guy, Kenta, was even more strange than her. It was kind of endearing and disarming though, like she knew he wouldn't do anything to hurt her based on how he was acting.

''Oh,'' she smiled, ''so that's what it is.'' Yes!!!! He hadn't even been to the orientation, that meant he hadn't seen Freja make an idiot out of herself and now she could conveniently leave that part out while giving him a recap. Maybe she could make one of her first friends here, one who didn't know how much of a loser she was. The double finger motion made her giggle briefly. ''Sure, I'll help you. No need to repay me either.'' She waved her hand in front of her face casually. ''What do you want to know? I guess I just start from the beginning..'' She put a hand up to her chin as she ran back the events in her head.

''Everyone was gathered for the orientation and there was idle chatter until Leonid-sensei stepped out. He held this grand speech about how we need to follow our dreams and do our best and then afterwards he opened the floor up. Uh, kind of like a Q&A situation. Then students began asking questions.'' She rubbed the back of her neck. ''Some students asked about fighting others, already, on our first orientation, isn't that insane?'' She chuckled, hoping Kenta would see that too. He didn't seem like the 'eager to fight type' in any case. ''That's basically it! Nothing much happened, so I think you're good.''

Muruyama Kenta

“It is!” She giggled back, holding her arms out wide to either side as she continued, “you might as well be royalty having grown up in a HUGE castle!” Her gesture helped emphasize the huge part. She chuckled lightly at Emi’s next comment about embarrassing herself. It was nice she had, honestly. Even quirked people weren’t flawless. “Right.. you’re kind of a nerd, aren’t you?” She teased, before quickly adding. “I-I’m saying that as a nerd myself!!”

“Huh- whuh” She jumped a little bit at Emi’s sudden burst of excitement, face quickly growing beet red as she raved about how Freja had passed the entrance exam without a quirk. “I mean- I guess?? I-It’s not a big deal, I’m not even entirely sure how I passed myself..” She was not used to these kinds of compliments! If anything she had been ready to be ridiculed, mocked and used as an example of how UA is trending downwards because now even the quirkless are allowed into the school. Emi hitting her with essentially the opposite, she wasn’t ready for that at all. Had anyone ever even called Elias amazing before? As far as he could remember, this was the first time. “Hah, maybe! I don’t have a lot of leads to go on. Besides, I need to.. we- need to figure out how to become kickass heroes in the meantime.” She was glad that Emi humored her pinky promise.

“Hm?” She looked up at Emi, remaining seated as she cupped her chin with her hand and pondered. “I guess not.. Some treat it like they’re protecting a secret burger recipe or something.” Wait, she was going to tell Freja what her quirk was. “N-Not at all! It’s okay!! But.. Are you sure you want a weakling like me to know? Wouldn’t I be a liability?” It was an unusually pessimistic and grim thing to think about, but in the event that another student tortured Freja to get Emi’s quirk information. No. That would probably never happen, but still. “Star Power..” So cool, so striking. It reminded her of her sister’s quirk name. Hold on, did she just launch herself?! Her jaw damn near dropped as Emi proceeded to pick up the boulder and jump back over to her. As Emi put it down and rejoined her, Freja’s face was a little pale at the realization of how badly Emi could have roughed her up if she was just a little less nice and tolerant. “That’s incredible.. Star Power.. You’re already so strong.” She smiled over at Emi as she sat back down. “Yeah, if you’ll have me. I’m not strong or impressive, but I can cook some traditional Danish meals for you.”

Emilia Hall

Her new life had begun with a tragic end surrounded by fire. How sad was it that she was going to die by fire again? Not only had her uselessness again resulted in her own death, but the death of another too. Only this time it wasn't Freja, it was Zenkai who was holding her and desperately fighting for his life too. Her question was emotionless, but what came after carried a cascade of sad emotions as Freja choked up what she thought was going to be her last words. ''I'm sorry.''

She was resigned to her fate, but looked up at Zen when they responded the way they did. It was arguably still the same Zen standing here with her, but something had changed. Were they serious? Were they actually scared too? In their previous perilous situations together, they never appeared scared to Freja. That one mugging? It felt as if Zen was in control the entire time, hell, even when he was getting blasted by back to back lightning strikes the laidback giant wasn't budging.

Was it gross to accept his tank top and press it up to her face? 100%, but did Freja have time to think about that when the difference could mean life or death? Not really, all she could think about was the gesture of it. That Zen was concerned with her safety and had even offered it to begin with. Her hands screamed out in agony the entire time she held the tank top in place. Hopefully they weren't beyond recovery assuming they could make it out. Freja then proceeded to watch in horror as her partner put his own life and body at risk to get them both out of there. With every beam Zenkai picked up, she feared it might be his last. That even someone as strong and capable as him could meet their limit here, but somehow he kept going.

In a split second the path to the outside was cleared and before she could run herself he had already picked her up. Once they got outside Freja would roll onto the grass and remove the tank top from her face as she let out a hacking cough and tried to stabilize her breathing in the fresh air. Now that a fire team and ambulance had arrived, more people had gathered outside. ''T-Treat him, treat my friend, he's hurt.'' She pleaded, pushing back tears, her red, blistered hands silently trembling as she took deep breaths to try and tune out the pain. ''..I think... We got everyone..'' She felt another hacking cough coming on, so strong that she thought she might vomit. ''Are you okay, Zen?'' He had saved her life again. It was history repeating at this point, she was too weak, or out of her depth and once again, he had come to her rescue.
