honestly, she doesn't entirely know why she is. she just is. as a girl with little to no connections in the school and an incessant need to try to find said connections, she tends to linger in places where foot traffic is high and suspicion is low, maybe just to act like she has friends. she's doing a rather poor job of it now though, standing so awkwardly in front of one of the labs doorways, mindlessly scrolling through the three emails she has in her inbox on her phone. they're not interesting at all, but she needs to act like she's busy so nobody gets a clue that she really is just a total loser.[break][break]

inside the support labs, there is an industrial-grade hydraulic press. the students are attempting to crush a synthetic material to test its hardness, this onyx-black blob of steel that haru is having a hard time making sense of. it's bending under the pressure now, just as somebody bumps into haru's back.[break][break]

unprepared for such force, haru's phone goes flying right out of her hands and into, yep, you guessed it, the path of the hydraulic press as the material being tested beneath it's force is just about to break.[break][break]

panicked, eyes wide, breath stolen from her lungs, haru attempts to claw her way into the support labs. "wait, wait!" she cries. "my phone, my--pleaseeee!"

Or is it? It depends on what Sebastian's first writing assignment of the school year was. God knows that he couldn't be fucked to do his homework. It had been a long time since Sebastian had actually been in school. Like, a really long time. He dropped out right before his junior year of high school. That wouldn't be too bad if not for the fact that it meant he didn't really have an opportunity to make many friends. He only really had two friends, and neither of them went to U.A. While being a total recluse sounded like a pretty baller idea, he wouldn't last very long at U.A. like that. He needed good, hardworking people that were dumb kind enough to let him piggyback off of all of their hard work. Example: letting him plagiarize their homework. Sebastian's first instinct was to go to the support labs to make friends. Why? Well, the support labs probably have the biggest nerds in the entire school. They're all engineers and scientists and shit like that. They'd probably write a spicy paper. Speaking of spicy paper, that's a good idea. Maybe he'll pitch that to one of the students while he's charming them into being his lifelong friend/homework slave. "So anyway, can I copy your notes from today's class?" he asked, after having spent the last six minutes talking about his spicy paper idea. The guy wasn't even in his class and had stopped listening to him which is pretty convenient because Sebastian was done talking to him. He rolled his eyes when Sebastian mentioned spicy paper which meant he wasn't worth Sebastian's time. Then a phone came right by him and right into the hydraulic press. Yikes. That's gotta suck. Good thing it wasn't on. Wait that'd be hilarious! So Sebastian walked right over to the hydraulic press and turned it on to watch her phone get crushed. "Oops," he said, making sure to establish direct eye contact with the girl. Then he shut it off before it could actually get crushed. He was mischievous—not evil. "Nah, I'm just fucking with ya, dude. So anyway, can I copy your notes from today's class?" ...Was there even class today? He also had no idea if they even shared a class.
