A

nother night, another practice patrol Farrin had been assigned since his first heroics course grades came in. These nightly runs fit perfectly into Farrin's schedule. His routine meant the mornings were for physical training. Afternoons were dedicated to academics, his classes, and personal studies, along with some chronokinetic training. The day's waning hours entailed another round of physical training when Sada wasn't around, but running about the city was cardio enough with the added benefit of seeing him quell lesser offenses.

Now, technically, he wasn't supposed to get involved in anything too dangerous. If it looked like serious villain activity, protocol dictated he call the authorities immediately so a pro could handle the situation. But, danger could be subjective. What was dangerous to the roach might not be so harrowing to the lion. Farrin slotted himself in with the latter category. He had handled himself in the field quite a few times now, not that UAU was aware of his run-ins with villainy. Tell them about the groups giving him trouble, and he'd be lucky ever to leave campus again. No, for now, mum was the word. Until it wasn't.

The time-turner leaped from one roof to the next across the massive metropolis. Skywalking, his ability to accelerate small temporal fields below his boots to "kick" through the air for a few steps saved him from some of the larger gaps, though he still couldn't cross the larger plazas or scale taller buildings with it. He was practicing that little maneuver with Miroru. It did, however, land him right atop a shorter residential complex skirting the neighborhoods between Tokyo's heart and the outskirt wards. No trouble yet, but that was bound to change.

"Okay, day five of 'helping' the police out."

It was clear that the police and the heroes of this land needed some help and let's be real here. It was only a matter of time before she eventually her identity found at that school. There's only so long playing a ditz will work and it'll likely only work for another two years as well. So might as well get herself familiar with this new concrete jungle.

Once again she the thin layer covering her skin, to an onlooker it'd look like a tight costume, hopefully, no one ever got to touch it and learned the truth on the matter. She wore her clothes over top of it to keep everything in place. Black shorts that were cut off and clung to her thighs while atop she wore a white tank top... she still needed a costume and supplies were limited.

Maybe eventually she could learn to make clothes with her quirk... it'd be weird wearing her own hair but in time maybe she'd get used to it.

Taking two steps back she hopped off the current rooftop she was on and sent herself flying to the next rooftop. As of now, she'd keep going until she got closer to the city, and after that, she'd start swinging through the city... in the sky not the other way don't be weird.

he wind whisked beads of sweat from Farrin's hair. Chronokinesis was sweaty business. Speeding up his passage through time also meant accelerating how fast his body reacted to its environment and general conditions. Run fast, sweat faster. Luckily, his hero outfit, while warm itself, helped in that department. The materials were somehow light enough, despite their immense quality and protection, that he never reached dangerous body temperatures. No heat strokes. Yeah, that was a plus. 

Danger came looking for him in other forms, though. He could count on his fingers how many times he left UAU's walls behind without finding any trouble. Tonight wasn't one of those nights. Farrin darted into the city and almost immediately this time. He was faced with danger. 

"What the hell is happening? No! No! NO! This is all wrong!" 

A monster of a man, three stories in height, swung wrecking balls that had replaced his fists into nearby buildings. No comfort to be found in a quirk like that. Farrin would be pissed too, but this guy was putting people's lives at risk. Something had to be done. 

"Oi, calm down there, big fella!" Farrin shouted from the edge of a nearby rooftop. 

People were screaming, fleeing from the stage of destruction. Fear didn't creep through the streets. It flooded them. Curiously enough, the big guy seemed afraid, too. Afraid and furious. 

"Get away from me!" The giant shouted, one wrecking ball fist aimed in Farrin's direction.

The wrecking ball blew out from the giant's arm, a chain connecting it to the limb. Farrin leaped, air-stepping across to the next building as the wrecking ball blew the previous roof to bits and brick. Debris stormed through the air. Dust plumed, then drifted below. This would be a challenge.

Jo felt the wind across only slightly through this second layer of skin. Unforunately it wasn't like she could have it be armor, otherwise, she'd be way too heavy to move through. However, it was just enough to feel padded when someone smacks with a crowbar or turns into a ball and launches themselves at you.

Honestly, the night had been pretty good so far. The sky was pretty and the capitalist lights were dancing in the night further away being a perfect heading of where she needed to go.

'What the hell is happening? No! No! NO! This is all wrong!'

The student heard that one screech through the air and let's be real here she asked for that one because she was being positive while on the beat.

Jo immediately spun herself in the air turning towards the screech and heading towards it only to see that she was heading towards an entire mass of man.

"Looks like someone wasn't satisfied with the usual protein the rest of the gym-rats take," She spoke to herself while heading down the street and straight to the guy. If anything maybe she could calm him down with words, it wasn't like anyone she knew was here...

arrin kicked off the air itself, the wrecking ball shattering each roof he touched. The living construction site, or more so demolitions team, of a man wasn't particularly skilled, but he was firepower incarnate. And he was growing still. Two cranes grew from his back, one from just under each shoulder. From the edge of each crane, another wrecking ball would drop. 

Quirk evolution wasn't unheard of. Quirk Awakenings, a phenomenon that saw someone's quirk develop further later in life, did happen, but they were incredibly rare. What's more, they typically only occurred during times of extreme duress. Considering the demolition man here was the source of the neighborhood's duress, Awakening didn't seem to be the likely culprit. No. Something was wrong. But Farrin could only figure out that mystery if he was alive to do so.

"I'll try ta' help yuh', lad, but yuh' need ta calm down," he emphasized. 

This was the last warning he would give. Heroes weren't supposed to hurt people needlessly, but this wasn't a needless situation. Destruction of property wasn't the big issue. It was the lives put at risk by the giant's rampage. If one of those wrecking balls blew into a residential building or dropped debris onto someone, they were doomed. 

"I won't be tricked. Not again! Not ever again!!" The giant shouted. 

With that, all four wrecking balls blasted into the air. Farrin's air steps kept giant, and his weapons of choice aimed upward, where there were no other potential casualties... until Lady Web approached. "Look out!" Farrin yelled as his latest step gave him an angle on his wordless ally from the night of the Tokyo Attack. A temporal field burned into existence just ahead of one of the wrecking balls, slowing it to a crawl as it passed through the emerald wall. The other demolition tools didn't have the angle to be a threat to Lady Web. Hopefully, she knew something he didn't about subduing giant opponents like this without hurting them too much, but he doubted it.

The 'look out' broke out through the night after the sound of listening to the wails of the giant. Jo couldn't say for sure but considering one of the wrecking balls was coming for her and now it had been slowed to a crawl... it was safe to say Indy (short for windy and short for Farrin) likely had times powers. Either that or some omnipotent force really didn't want her to get hurt.

One or the other, Jo really couldn't say for sure.

Either way regardless, it seemed biggums wasn't exactly trying to murder or destroy. It was more of a massive panic attack, so it'd be best if she took it apart piece by piece.

Hopefully, with fewer things, it'd be easier to eventually calm down, and if not there was always plan b.

Jo gladly decided to take advantage of the wrecking ball that was moving slowly still and launched herself onto her arm. Now a more mean JoJo would likely take this moment and slice his wrecking ball completely off. However, considering Jo wasn't a sociopath that option was off the table.

Instead, she simply began running up the arm and from her hands shot small 'web' balls smacking him against the face. Would it do anything effective, no

IT WOULD THOUGH, get um to give attention to her.. and by attention probably more murderous rage.

t wasn't a terrible move. The sudden mass of hair (though it looked like web) slapped against the living demolition site's face and granted JoJo her wish, namely grabbing the giant's attention. His massive body (think something close to this but with the wrecking ball parts as well) shifted as he lifted his arm for a better view of his newest assailant. Two new arms grew beneath those with the wrecking ball hands. These two, however, ended with massive circular saws. It swung the blade of its new appendage just above the arm JoJo stood on, hoping to swat, or really carve, her away. 

"Oh no yuh' don't!" Farrin shouted, flipping through the air with a kick and launching his way toward the giant.

His fist spearheaded the attack. All the momentum he had built through his skywalking sprint delivered to the titan's jaw. The machine-man stumbled back a step, the saw blade lifting off mark. Farrin didn't want to hurt someone, clearly confused and frightened, but that fear escalated into aggression. He had already taken shots at Farrin. Going after Lady Web, or whatever her actual name was, was unacceptable. Even if her identity was a mystery, her intentions were known enough to the boy. She had helped him before and was helping him again. That made her an ally. 

The titan recovered almost immediately. "You'll regret that!" He shouted, swinging his other massive saw blade arm Farrin's way. Another kick off the air, and Farrin beamed toward the nearest roof. The blade just passed below his boots, the gusts from the blade's rotation blowing him off course. He crashed into the target building's fire escape, and already the titan was bringing the blade down. Despite his growing size, he was speeding up rather than slowing down.

A voice in the back of her head rang out but there was no time to appease that. Right now she had to focus solely on staying alive and trying her best to not slice this unfortunate soul into ribbons. There had to be a different way to do this without resorting to that. She had to think fast because currently there were saws coming at the ex-vigi.

Luckily Windy intervened and Jo was able to slip through the bars and was able to swing herself over to the other arm. Although that's when she got her idea.

It was clear this fella was transformed but there was still a human in there meaning it still was used to human things.

'Let's give it a try,'

Jo thought and then she launched herself at one of the incoming circular saws. A quick swing and she was able to pass right by while the giant collided with the fire escape. Now the giant was focused on Windy while Jo could try something new.

A second hop and she was passing right by his face. It was kinda rude, but at that moment she sent a large clot of coiling 'web' smacking right onto the face. Covering its nose while a second slapped right onto the mouth.

At this point she was throwing out ideas, trying to see if something that large still needed to breathe or would 'think' it needed too. Hopefully figure out a bit more rather tryna one shot the poor fella, which still felt like the better option.

arrin flipped over the fire escape's railing just as the saw came down, shredding the metal emergency stairwell. The air burned with the sheer speed at which the saw spun, but that burning sensation was at Farrin's back. An armored boot found purchase against the building wall, and Farrin kicked off to send himself across the street. 

"Wh- wuuuhhh duhh, geeee oooofffff" The metal titan's words were muffled, courtesy of the "webs" that shut his mouth and stuck to his nose. 

With no real hands in this form, the mad lad couldn't wipe the webs off. His options were saw blades or wrecking balls, both were liable to do irreparable harm. Yet, the longer he waited, the more aggressive he grew. The walking demolition site didn't go pale or blue, but he swung wildly, carving through nearby buildings or obliterating them under the weight of the wrecking balls. Lady Web was on the money. The giant still needed to breathe. It was a solid tactic. Genius really. The only problem was the damage he would do before falling unconscious.

This was one of those gray areas Farrin hadn't really encountered yet. It didn't feel right. The big guy was all but dealt with and clearly in distress, but he was also tearing down the neighborhood, swinging those giant saw blades and the wrecking balls. People fled into the streets, out of the buildings, as they were ruined. A scowl crept across Farrin's face. He didn't want to attack, but what choice was left? 

The moment the time-turner landed on the next rooftop, he was turning about and kicking off again. "Sorry, big fella," he muttered, kicking off the edge of the roof and into the air. Temporal power swirled around his fist as microscopic fields of both temporal acceleration and deceleration flared just ahead of his knuckles. Mercy came in the form of a quick end to the battle. He needed to knock the big guy out quickly. So, as he fell from the air, Farrin's fist flew ahead and connected with the titan's head again. This time, the titan stumbled back and crashed into the building behind him. Farrin's earlier blow might not have done too much damage, but deprived of air, the titan was far more vulnerable. This time, the giant didn't recover.  He was alive, but down for the moment.

Well, Jo learned something new today, when you need to calm something down... suffocate it. Granted one could say this was a morbid strategy as well, but considering it was doing and intended to do much more damage.

This seemed like a good trade-off.

Jo watched the massive figure move this way and that, she almost sprung into action when Windy almost got diced into ribbons but luckily they were able to get out of the way on their own.

Jo blinked though when she saw Windy head towards the big confused figure. The strike that had impacted the figure was immense and the hero in training couldn't help but blink.

Was that really needed... Yeah, it probably unfortunately was in this case.

Jo jumped forward and swung down onto the grand landing on the downed body. "Guess i should start wrapping him up," Jo spoke in a broken voice not anything close to her own. Usually, people would speak in a deep voice. However, doing that would only give more attention to her regular voice so she spoke in a twelve-year-old boy's voice.

Hair started to whizz off from her shins, beginning to wrap around the giant's legs. At least keep him on the ground in case he does come back too, but last she checked it still couldn't breathe so...

as-was Lady Web a child? Judging by their height, and when combined with that voice, well, they very well could be. Farrin heaved, considering that some tween might have been swinging around the city like that old spider guy comic, taking on crime at an even younger age than the protagonist of that series. 

"Yer," Farrin paused, breathing in deep, "yer no' a kid, are yuh?" He started to ask as she went to work, tying the demolition man out. "I 'preciate the help n' all, but I certainly help some ten yer' old tyke isn't out 'ere doin' the grown-ups job."

Of course, one could argue Farrin was still a kid. It was all relative. A teen, compared to someone deeper in their twenties or older, was just as much a child as a twelve-year-old was to an eighteen-year-old. Either way, despite the voice, it wasn't all that likely, right? What ten-year-old could move and fight like that? A question best left unanswered. 

"Shame," he eventually added, looking toward the titan's face. "I didn't want ta' hurt 'em. He seemed distressed, but big fella was causin' too much damage, puttin' people at risk." At the edge of the street, a few onlookers hid behind overturned cars. This Farrin was strong or capable enough yet to fix the block and all the damage done. He could pacify threats, albeit with aid occasionally, but there was still so much to learn. 

"Well, thanks again fer' backin' me up there, n' last time too. Speakin' o' which, well, do yuh've a name I yuh' preferred ta' be called by?" He asked, repeating the question he posed at the end of their last encounter. She had left before he could get an answer last time. Maybe now he could put a name to the webbed-up face.

The very first reaction in the past would've been to lift the jacket and crop top covering her chest and go, DO THESE BELONG TO A KID?? However, Jo was a year older and a year wiser, which is one out of three on the list. (She was not a baller or taller)

"Sometimes it is better to have a young point of view." The only words that left her throat using that broken puberty voice. Realizing as long she remembered to tie the girls down and only speak every now and again in a broken puberty voice she would easily be able to keep this secret.

Had to pat herself on the back later for this one.

Finishing tying up the legs, Jo cracked her neck and simply looked forward while stretching for a moment. "Yeah well, maybe whoever comes to pick him up later we'll be able to help him more, ya know." Disasters could be disaster-proofed and buildings and stuff could be replaced. People on the other hand were a whole different story.

When Windy started asking for her name she sat there and stared blankly underneath the mask. Plus the sirens were already filling the area.

Think fast.

"I told you before didn't I," Jo smiled and threw up another peace sign.

"Just call me peacekeeper."

With that, she was off! Clearly, for once, she nailed the exit... time to see if she could nail the whole school life mixed vigi life too.
