Thing that tripped her up? Kei's eyes wandered to where Jun was previously, noting how she was just where- yep, the girl with the bat confirmed it. It was indeed the robot that blocked the sophomore's path while she was training. At least he thought she was training, why else would someone be here? Well- to catch a rogue AI apparently.

He pushed himself to stand and raised a hand with an awkward smile. "Yeah, it's mine. Sorry about that- it's still in the testin' phases." That hand was moved to run his fingers through his hair. "It's not supposed to be out here so I'm tryin' to get it back to the lab! You can help me too maybe?" He clasped his hands together, eyes pleading. "You can get your revenge if you do..." He didn't truly think revenge was what the sophomore would be after but he needed all the help he could get.

Kei's attention was caught by Kaida's comment, which caused him to laugh a little too loudly. "Not sentient! I'm not that good!" As much as all the bandages she wore worried him, he tried to trust that she was fine- she was standing on her own after all. Her focus on his project made him focus on it too. "Definitely annoyin' though yeah. I'd honestly be grateful if you can help too but only if you want to." Okay, so maybe he's minding her injuries a little bit.

He turned to Freja, frowning at her thought. "My extra arms? That's not good- I need 'em to catch up to the thing." What's he gonna do, climb the ladders with his normal arms? The robot would be long gone by the time he reached the roof that way. No, he needed his gear if he had any hope of catching the thing.

Her description of the bat made him blink in surprise. "Wait- Ana made that for you?" Huh, he always thought she was only interested in complex projects. He never thought she would make a piece of sports equipment of all things. He couldn't deny her skill though. "Huh. It's gotta be really strong then."

Another wheezy laugh escaped him. Girls' night out. "Yeah she's right- they checked on me because I was goin' after that thing." Kei pointed at the pipe in the distance.

Only for the cause of his headache to not be where he saw it last.

"Uh. Where'd it go?" Moments after he said that, the robot ball reappeared by dropping itself in the middle of the group, causing Kei to scream and nearly fall over, his metal arms catching himself before he did so. God, what if it landed on someone's head? They could've easily gotten a concussion! As if uncaring of the consequences of its actions, his project then bounded off, hopping on a steel beam to roll along it.

Yeah, he's done standing around he thinks. "Okay- we really should get goin'. Sumi, we'll lead the thing to ya so you can block it off okay?" He then pointed at the girl with the bat. "And you! You're Freja right?" He was glad he remembered the other support major mention the name. "Time to put your gear to work! We're goin' up!" With that declaration two of his metal arms reached an overhanging pipe, lifting him off the ground.

Here's hoping they could actually get the thing.

[attr="class","bmsk"] in blackest night... Marbles? Robots? What? All this was weird. So to start things out, as she got to her feet, she looked over at Kaida. "My burns have all healed up. And uh...yeah. Other than that I'm all good to go!" Looking over at Kei, then back where she came, then back at Kei...yeah, that checked out. "Kei, you know if you need help with something I'm more than willing to help. Besides, revenge for tripping me? That's a little low. I don't mind pitching in, if it helps me get better acquainted with these winches." She turned to look back up to where she came to start the chase in earnest...only to find that weird sphere was gone. "Huh. Hey Kei, does it turn invisible by any chance-" the thing falling right in the middle of them, along with Kei's scream, caused Jun to leap almost ten feet up. Is this an exaggeration? Maybe. Either way, she'd try to act by tackling the thing, only to eat concrete as it scuttled away. "That little...alright. Me and Kaida will try to control the direction it runs in then. Sumi would eye her up and down before sighing a breath of relief when she got up and began to address the group normally. "Don't worry about it! Glad you're okay." she remembered Jun as the girl who wasn't a fan of the party she held, but given the circumstances of their current meeting, she didn't want to address any of that. Right now, she was focused on capturing the little robot.

The praise from Freja made her feel proud as it just proved that the training was working! "Thanks, Freja! Don't worry about it you were just trying to help me out, I'd do the same for you if I was quick enough" which was definitely something she hoped to accomplish one day. She'd then turn to Kei and address his idea of a plan. "Sounds good to me. I'll make sure to get up high and get a good vantage point. I can block off as many as we need, but I'll need some time to build up the smoke."

The sudden reappearance of the robot caught her off guard and briefly made her lose her train of thought. "Are you sure it's not sentient? That was a taunt if I ever saw one!" she'd pop another cigarette in her mouth and begin the process of inhaling, breathing out a cloud that she'd form into steps to get her on top of the highest point that she could see. "Get inside! I'll block off this entrance when you're all clear" once the group moved away she'd form a large smoke wall, tall enough that even from the highest point in the training grounds the little robot wouldn't be able to climb over it.

Kaida's one and only helpful contribution to the conversation was a snort as Jun fell flat on her face. Yes, very helpful. She was here to help... as a person. As much as she wanted to aid the small gang in their endeavors, the last usage of her quirk resulted in her almost losing control on her dragon— should she transform now in her weakened state, there was a chance that it might try and reign terror again. She didn't want that. Kaida didn't have any equipment to fight with outside of her quirk, either. [break][break]

She should probably try and fix that. Maybe Kei would have some ideas on what she could make?[break][break]

Sighing as Jun ran off, she quickly glanced at the rest of them before following her best friend. "I'll help as much as I can, but I'm not using my quirk for this."

“Revenge?” She grimaced a bit at Kei’s choice of words, and at the thought that Jun might even want to get revenge in the first place. Thankfully her senior quickly proved her wrong with her response. “Sure seems like it could be.” She chimed in on the comment about the robot being sentient. Kei seemed like the kind of genius where it was only a matter of time until he could achieve something like that. She smiled back at Sumi, glad that there was no misunderstandings between them.

“Yeah, a teacher introduced me to her and then I commissioned this.” She answered with a confused smile. She was honestly still a little bewildered at the fact that Ana humored her request and made this bat for her. “It’s really strong!” She nodded proudly.

When Kei screamed, she screamed. She was tempted to swing her bat at the little devil as it zoomed past them, but before she could even entertain the idea it had already disappeared again. “I-Is it challenging us?” Seeing Jun eat concrete, she was even more relieved she hadn’t swung her bat.

“Me? R-Right! I forgot to introduce myself!” She bowed her head at Kei with an embarrassed chuckle. “Freja Helt, first year. Quirk: Null, but I’ve got this bat.” Her greeting was addressed to Jun and Kaida too. “R-Right behind you!” Freja lined up her shot before firing a grappling hook out of the tip of her bat, wrapping it around one of the pipes above them so she could follow Kei. “Did you see where it went?” She asked him, immediately scanning their surroundings from up high as she tried to catch a glimpse of their culprit.

Kei couldn't help but flinch at Jun's dive; he could almost feel the pain she was feeling. Well, maybe it wasn't metaphorical - he did ram himself into a pipe earlier. In any case he felt the need to apologize on his creation's behalf. "Sorry! And yeah- sorry for mentionin' the revenge. I know that's not how you work." Though he was excited to she how far she came with the winches admittedly. "But no, no invisibility on it." Huh. Another thing for him to consider should he ensure the robot didn't go rogue again.

A strained laugh escaped him at Sumi's question. "God I hope not! I didn't plan to give it one!" He'd have a lot of concerns if the bot grew a mind of its own that was for sure. "You heard her everyone, stay in! The better we can converge on it the better we'd be at blockin' off its path!" He glanced over at the makeshift wall, in awe for a moment at how quickly she just conjured it out of thin air. He shouldn't be distracted though; they all have one goal in mind now.

Thankful for Kaida's help as well and trusting that'd she'd work well with Jun, he shifted his focus to Freja, gasping at the grappling hook that came out of her bat. "Oh wow, she really fit a hook in there! You're lucky you got Ana to help ya, she's the best in our field." Her questionable demeanour aside, the support sophomore really did excel above all of them when it came to her craft.

Kei moved his metal arms to ensure he didn't collide with the girl. "Null? Ooh, what does it do?" If he had to guess, it'd have something to do with removing... something. He wouldn't know what, but he hoped it was energy; sapping the robot's battery would give them a huge advantage.

As he waited for an answer he squinted, scanning around them as well. "I thought I did- but I think I lost it again." He sighed, frustrated. Unbeknownst to Kei was the fact that the robot latched on to the underside of another pipe, rolling along at a lower height than the support student as it glowed a fluorescent blue. Whirs could still be heard regardless. "C'mon, where are ya..."

With all of them working together, she was sure they would be successful in catching the robot, even if she didn't know everyone here that well. They were all hero students after all, right? ''She's pretty amazing, isn't she?'' She smiled proudly, as if she knew a single thing about Ana other than that she was a bit eccentric and brutally honest.

''Null-'' She blinked her eyes. Wait, did he think she had a quirk? Was it because of how she worded it? It was at times like this that Japanese was a tricky language. ''No no, null as in zero, I'm...'' She paused, searching for the word. ''Quirkless! So yeah, basically I can't pull any cool moves or anything like that to help capture your robot, but I do have this bat. As long as it's in my hands, I'm basically unstoppable.'' Okay maybe that was a bit of a bold statement, especially considering the fact that she had said it before they even engaged this thing in a proper chase.

''I hear it!'' Having climbed up with Kei, she also didn't see the robot rolling along the underside of a pipe somewhere below them. ''Does it camouflage itself too?'' She turned to Kei, before shouting down at team Power Girls on their search from below. ''Hey, do you see anything down there? I don't think it jumped all the way up here!''

Kaida stared at the bot before following Jun’s movements with no protest, silently marvelling at the feat of engineering tied to her friend’s hips. That was new. Had Kei or some other student made it for her? Her friend’s question made her glance back, thinking for a moment. “So-so.” Kaida admitted. “I dislike being holed up on campus arrest, but it can’t be helped. It gives me time to think about everything that happened.” Not like that was a good thing. Sometimes she wanted to think about anything else other than what happened, “What I could have done better. But,” she sighed. “distracting myself with something like this is a welcome change of pace.”[break][break]

Kaida heard Freja call out to her, the dragoness looking at the Dane from across the metallic playfield. “You mean that thing below you?” She said nonchalantly, glancing down at the rotund robot.

With the first one being complete, she would sit for a brief moment panting to catch her breath. She hadn't used her quirk to this extent before, but people were depending on her, so she would rise back to her feet. From her vantage point she could see them all hard at work, and while she couldn't hear what anyone was saying, she knew that it was only a matter of time until they lured the little robot to her. 'You got this, Sumi!' she'd think to herself to hype herself up before moving to the next area to put another wall up.

As grey walls continued to be erected around them thanks to Sumi's efforts, Kei kept his eyes peeled, trying so hard to catch a glimpse of his creation. It took him a while to register the freshman's words next to him. "Quirkless?" He looked at her and blinked in surprise. "You were accepted even though you don't have one?" A grimace then; that had to have been insensitive. "Sorry- you must be really good if you're here despite not havin' a Quirk!" Better! Maybe? Hopefully.

Shaking off his blunder, he strained his ears to pick up what the girl was listening to. "Ooh, I hear it too." Whirs, then clicks as the pipe they were on rumbled slightly. Kei glanced at Kaida when she seemingly pointed out the bot's location, confusion evident on his face. "Below us?" He looked down at his feet.

The robot ball was looking back up at him.

He blinked. It blinked back. "Ah." Silence stretched on with the support sophomore just- bewildered that it was right there before he remembered they were supposed to catch the thing. "AH!!" One quarm launched forward at its spot, and the robot dropped off as the claw clanged uselessly on where it once was.

Already it was making its way closer to Jun and Kaida for- some reason. Was it trying to involve them even if they already planned on working together? Even Kei didn't know. It likely didn't matter as he called out to the other duo. "Heads up! it's goin' straight to you guys!"

''Y-Yeah! Sorry I didn't mean to get you excited thinking I had powers or something..'' And it was totally on her too for miscommunicating! ''No, no it's okay, I got lucky, that's all!'' She wasn't really offended, she understood the confusion. Part of her still didn't get it, how she could have been picked over other potential hero students who had powers. Powers that could probably benefit the future of hero society a lot more than she could hope to with her two hands. ''Right? There's something..'' She stayed quiet to listen for it again. It was so close and yet, there was nothing to see.

''Huh?'' Was her only response to Kaida, and almost as if it was timed for comedic purposes, she looked down at the same time as Kei. ''It is! There it is!'' She was already in hot pursuit, doing her best to keep up with the little demon and help further steer it towards Jun and Kaida. ''You get back here you!'' She would swing at it whenever she got close enough, but always miss the mark. Maybe that was for the better too, since she didn't know exactly how durable the thing was.

''Jun- Kaida! You're up!'' She shouted as she started to lose speed.

[attr="class","bmsk"] in blackest night... Jun nodded, eyes scanning their surroundings. Gamma was a good place to train one's hiding and searching abilities, but it was also a pain sometimes. "Well, if you ever want to watch a movie or something let me know! I'd be happy to make time and hang out for a bit, try to wind down and all that." Kaida pointing out the bot made her swivel to look back at Kei and Freja, and seeing the two nearly panic was...something. She got a little bit of space from Kaida, anticipating some level of ice from her as she began to formulate the best option to try and help apprehend the bot. Kei's failed effort was disheartening, but with Freja corralling its way towards them she tried to think. Cannons were off the table, spotlights wouldn't do much, and would chains even be effective? Taking a breath, she tapped into her compassion in order to try and create an alley to force the ball where they wanted it. A movie? Kaida hummed in agreeance, if slightly hesitant. She wouldn't even know where to being with media— her life outside of training was pitifully boring. Her train of thought was swiftly cut short as Kei and Freja called out to them once more, Kaida glancing down at the robot with a placid expression— ever the eye of the storm in panicky situations. [break][break]

She won't use her quirk— she had said so before, and she wouldn't go back on those words. Risking the beast for such a trivial matter as this wasn't on her agenda. So she thought of the best next thing; and that was grabbing the nearest loose steel pipe next to her, hoisting it over her shoulder, and aiming to throw it directly below the ball. Shrapnel and dust exploded in a heavy cloud of ash as the atmosphere around her swirled, brushing her hair backwards as she rolled her shoulders. She wasn't in the greatest shape to be hauling around giant metal beams. If she was correct in her assumption, the robot had no aerial propulsion, and if it were flung to the air and had nowhere to go, one of them could use that opening.

Freja? Apologizing for getting him excited over something she didn't have? That couldn't be right- if anything he should be sorry for being disappointed over her not having a Quirk. "Hey, no, I should be sorry for expectin' you to have one! And you got here on your own merit, the exams here are tough! No luck involved in it." The fact she was still here meant something. Kei fully believed her skill's what got her accepted. Now if only his robot was more encouraging when it came to that.

It weaved around Freja's swings easily, even popping out a panel against the weapon to further push itself away from it. A controlled home run as it were, where it put more distance between itself and the duo chasing after it. However, with the smoke walls blocking the side paths it could've taken and being further constricted by Jun's shields, it really was no surprise that Kaida's aim held true.

As a result, the pipe crashed into the ball and the robot soared. In a rather predictable arc now that it was caught off-guard.

Someone had to catch it before it hits the ground and they all go running after it again.
