The nightlife in Japan meant that in the cities, the place never really 'slept' so to speak. That was why Rin was here with a bag tucked under one arm, locking up the Burger King here in the massive shopping mall in Kiyashi at three in the morning. Shoving the key back into her pocket as she turned to leave, other hand coming up to rub at her tired eyes, Rin let out a yawn despite herself. Hastily moving to stifle it, glancing around to see if any of the nightlife people still around had noticed, she felt a little relieved when nobody seemed to be paying her any mind. Shifting her bag into her hands, Rin scurried off towards the mall exit.

She felt dead on her feet, and she had classes at UA University in the morning, and the only reason she was even here right now was because she hadn't been able to tell her boss that it wouldn't be a very good shift for her - she'd felt too bad about the fact that there was 'nobody else' to lock up that night and she didn't want to risk getting fired for refusing. It didn't feel very rewarding though, and she could already tell she was going to feel even worse in the morning over it. On her way out Rin shifted an arm to hit the little bumper that would let the door push open, wincing immediately as she left the mall.

In the cool night air Rin shifted the bag in her arms so she could pull her sleeve back, exposing the angry little burn on her forearm to the night air. She'd gone and burned herself at work tonight, but she'd been so busy at the time that she just ignored it. Now, without anything pressing aside from getting home to worry about... Rin felt tears welling up in her eyes as she started walking and talking to herself under her breath.

"Stupid... fryer-thing, being where I can get burned like that... and stupid me for getting burned like that! Why am I so clumsy? Nobody else gets burned working there like that..." Her complaints continued, verging into being tired and not wanting to work and not wanting to go to class in the morning and just wanting to lie in bed and listen to music. Her feet hurt, her back hurt, and she was so focused on herself at the moment that she was hardly paying attention to the world around her as she started to walk home.

''BURNED burned gets burned. ~'' Rui giggled, drunk as a skunk stumbling up to Rin. If the other girl allowed it, she would be full-on leaning on her shoulder as she spoke to her, if she backed away Rui would simply be swaying in place. ''Heeey beshtiee! Where are you going the Burger placeish that's way!'' She pointed back towards the mall. ''You come with me we eat burgs, totes my treats!'' She smiled, trying to pull on Rin's sleeve to get her to come with her, only to notice the burn on her other arm.

''Bestie what happened?! This ish... BURN!'' She held her hands up over her head, as if to emphasize the burn like it was HUGE. ''It looks painful here lemme fix that for youuu-'' She dragged out the youuuuu as she pulled her own hoodie sleeve back and let the skin around her hand unwrap. If Rin didn't try to back away, the skin would wrap around the burn and immediately send warm healing pulsing through Rin's body. Not just healing the burn completely, but her feet, her back and any other place that might have been sore, not even headaches were safe!

''Dadadada!!'' She exclaimed loudly as her skin pulled away and started covering her own hand again. ''Free of charge for my bestie! Now come with it's time for burgs!'' She smiled insistently.

Before she knew it Rin had a drunk girl leaning on her awkwardly, even moreso because for once Rin was actually the taller person here. Having someone actually touching her, especially a drunk person, had her stiff as a board an panick flashing across her face - but not for the reasons most people probably would. Rin's immediate and first concern was always about how cold to the touch she was, that the person would freak out once they noticed or something. The strong booze smell on her breath didn't make her any more comfortable either, and being called bestie... did she know this person? She could swear she didn't. Had she forgotten? Was the drunk just... that drunk, and mistaking her for someone?

"U...uhm... I-" Rin stammered, and before she could start to try to explain that the Burger King was closed for the night but would open up again by the next shift in a few hours, the girl noticed her burn and asked about it. "Yea-yeah, I uhm, bumped into the fryer, I guess!" She answered, not that the girl seemed to even be listening. Rin watched with fascination and no small amount of fear as the girl's hand unraveled and then wrapped itself around her... and then she felt a warm, soothing feeling? Not just in the burn either, but her entire body? She was still terrified, but she felt... good. Great, even? Better than she had before she went in to work tonight. Realizing the scary looking Quirk was just a healing thing, she hastily gave a small smile and a quick: "Thanks!"

Only for her smile to falter at the insistence of getting 'burgs', and the free of charge thing - was this an expensive service normally? Rin didn't want to take advantage of a drunk person that was mistaking her for someone else! What if she sobered up and realized that Rin wasn't who she thought she was and got upset? Would... would burgers count as payment somehow? Or at the very least, maybe she could keep an eye on her until she sobered up a bit? Giving a little nod, half to herself and half to the drunk woman, Rin slowly turned around to head back into the mall.

"A... Alright, yeah! Burg... time... bestie!" She tried her best to sound enthusiastic and friendly, she really did, but this situation was just so weird and she could already feel like this was going to be a disaster somehow.

Hopefully she wouldn't have to explain to anyone later why she was going to unlock the Burger King again with this girl in tow, and get burgers ready for her to eat. She said her treat so she definitely intended to pay for them, right? Rin would just turn it down, that'd be okay right? Just a last minute paying customer, that was all!

Although Rin was abnormally cold to the touch, it likely wasn't something Rui had noticed at all thanks to the effects of the alcohol in her system. Besides, all that was on her mind was having a big juicy burger. Anything else was secondary. Even though she was immensely happy she had stumbled upon her bestie out there in the middle of the night, and even been able to heal some of her injuries.

Rui waved her hand dismissively at Rin. ''Don't mention it! It's kind of like, my thing.'' As they walked towards the mall and Rin so willingly joined her she beamed. ''Yay!! Yeah yeah bestie!!'' She was swaying and shambling dramatically as she walked, clearly just being pulled along by her desire to eat burgs with her bestie. ''So why are you like, out here bestie? Isn't it late? You weren't drunk or anything, you know it's totes boring to be out here all alone when you aren't drunk.''

As they walked into the mall Rui would stumble and fall into a plant, before quickly recovering and pulling herself up. ''Wow! This place is EMMMMPTYYYYYY! ~ Where do you think everyone is? I think- personally- like, everyone just flew away.'' She held her hands up as if to mimic an explosion before saying. ''Poof! Flew awaaay! ~'' Then spread her arms out like wings and 'flew' all the way to the burger joint where Rin worked, all while talking her head off about something she had seen or experienced earlier that night.

"Ohh... you know, just... working late!" Rin laughed awkwardly, giving the vaguest response she could think of. Somehow the last thing she wanted was for the woman to realize she wasn't who she thought she was. It felt like that would be a whole awkward, painful situation on its own. Besides, this woman was at least trying to be friendly even if she had no sense of personal space and was really loud and putting a lot of pressure on Rin that was stressing her out more and more by the moment... but at least she wasn't violent or anything.

She ended up startled out of her thoughts when the drunk girl stumbled into a plant, reaching out too slow to really help her or anything - not unless the drunk girl happened to grab onto her herself, anyways - with little more than a worried: "Ah..." Glancing around afterwards, when the woman pointed out how empty it was this late at night, Rin gave a polite if strained smile and nodded. "Yeah... I guess they did!" The flying antics actually were so silly that Rin had to supress a giggle. The woman was drunk, she didn't know what she was doing and it wouldn't be right to laugh at her! Still, it was funny to see.

Once she got the burger king open and escorted the woman inside, Rin glanced around in a paranoid way before setting to work. Getting some lights on first, then scurying into the back briefly to fuss with some things, she peeked her head back out while giving "Ahhs" and "Oh, I see!" in response to the things the woman was saying. After a bit though she came back out entirely, wringing her hands together a little out of nerves. "It might take a minute to heat everything up but... I can take your order now!"

How lucky was she to just stumble into one of her besties in the middle of the night like this? Like really what were the odds even?! Not very likely that was all Rui knew! ''Wooooaaaaaaah it's so quiet here, bestie!'' She sat down in one of the many empty seats and immediately started rocking back and forth like an impatient little child. ''That's okay! If they need to heat up I'll just wait right here! I want two, no, three burgers, bestie!'' She grinned, holding up three fingers, her eyes lighting up as she had an epiphany.

''Burger Bestie!!'' She smiled, clapping and pointing at Rin, as if she had finally remembered where she knew Rin from. Never mind the fact that this was her first night meeting Rin, Rin was totally her burger bestie from the past and they had known each other for years, something like that! ''What do you want, bestie?'' She cocked her head at the hero student expectantly. Surely her burger bestie needed some food too! After all, they were both supes dupes starving and that was a crime around these parts!

''Do you live here? I like your place.'' She giggled, putting her head down on the table to feel the cold against her cheek. ''I live somewhere else in Tokyo, it's not as big as this place! But one day, I'm totes buying a big mansion! When I become the Prime Minister of Japan!'' She proclaimed confidently.

Rin flinched reflexively when the drunk woman declared how quiet it was, glancing around briefly. Even though nobody was around she felt like Rui had said that super loudly, even though she really hadn't, and they were going to get caught... even though all she was doing was operating after hours for a last minute customer, really. She didn't want to get in trouble though, and she didn't want to get the woman that mistakenly thought they were besties in trouble either. Being drunk meant it wasn't her fault, right? And it was up to sober people to use responsible, reasonable judgement for them?

Since Rin was the only one around, that meant it was up to her... unfortunately.

This was the kind of stuff she was thinking as she nodded along, calling out nervous confirmations of "R... Right!" at the order for three whole burgers - wondering who could even eat that much in one sitting, aside from someone like her roommate Emi - and being briefly flabbergasted at the question of what she wanted. To go to bed, cry, complain to her sister at three in the morning over texts? Not that she would ever actually dare do that last one, even if Sadako was immensely supportive and would probably understand. She had a busy life and needed her sleep.

"Ah... yeah, I do." Rin lied, wincing at it and wishing she hadn't immediately... she just didn't want to create any conflict or make the other woman feel stupid. Besides, if she said she didn't she might ask where she did live and then... Rin didn't want to judge her too harshly, but she wasn't sure she'd be comfortable with that topic either. Giving a polite smile though, she managed a nervous but somewhat genuine laugh. "That's... that's a really big goal! I hope it, uhm, goes well for you. Are you trying to become a Diet member?"

Listening to Rui, Rin was going to dip back into the kitchens to get the burgers going - making sure to peek out again and make sure the woman knew she was listening. Three for Rui, and with some mixed feelings a fourth one for herself, the burgers actually wouldn't take long at all and Rin couldn't help but feel relieved that whatever the woman's quirk did to heal her burn had also given her some extra energy. Trying to cook four burgers when she was dead on her feet would have been a nightmare, but she managed it with only a bit of scrambling and fumbling and in only a couple minutes she was presenting Rui with a tray with all four burgers on it - the fourth one set off away from the other three.

"Here you go, s-sorry for the wait!"
