The atmosphere had changed, whilst the area Hiro was hanging out in wasn’t exactly bustling like the center of Tokyo or any other major center, the streets were practically deserted with only stray people moving around with clear ‘get away’ intent in their step. He had honestly not kept up to date with the news, so maybe it was a holiday of some sorts? He had a phone, but barely knew how to use it without breaking it, and he had no clue why people were so obsessed with watching television or the screens. "I guess there won’t be much work for me today..." Hiro would speak out loud to himself, perhaps in the hope that somebody overheard him and offered him something to do. Of course, the few in earshot gave him a weird look and continued on their hurried path whilst mumbling something about ‘crazy Hiros’, which made him wonder how they knew his name… But whatever eerie silence had befallen the suburb, a violent noise of something monstrous nearly took him off his feet in shock. The crunching of buildings collapsing, metal being crushed, and the screams of civilians. Hiro needed no second thought to run headlong at it, he wasn’t a professional, but he couldn’t stand by if there were innocent people in danger. "Calm down, and try to go where I came from!” he’d tell fleeing bystanders, helping a young woman clutching her child to her feet, and feeling glad that they were unharmed. In the middle of the square was the threat, surrounded by rubble, burning wreckage, and at least a dozen slain oceanic monsters. What he assumed were four heroes were down and out, but by the sound of their pained moans had been lucky enough to survive the onslaught. "What could have done this?!” Hiro spoke in astonishment, assuming the heroes had taken out those monsters… But the vigilante’s eyes squinted as what he assumed was the leader, a six-headed hydra… goose? "You...”Grabbing his sword, Hiro knew better than to underestimate something that could cause all this destruction, and take out four professionals. Those six heads and unassuming goosey exterior must hide monstrous power.

It was a lovely chaotic day in the village Tokyo, and Goose was… well, a horrible goose. Perhaps for once in its menacing existence, Goose was not the source of carnage and destruction across the landscape. Not all of it, at least. The foul fowl had arrived in the aftermath of the Heroic and oceanic clash. Now it roosted atop the unconscious form of one belonging to the former.
A dagger stolen from the body-turned-bench was held between two outer-bills as the center heads inspected its newest trinket. The examination was interrupted by a would-be warrior’s warcry. Which sounded more like a question to anyone with the ability to discern differences in human speech. Alas, while the devil was in the details, the Goose was not. It was firmly in the moment and the unyielding grip of hunger. Hunger for sustenance. Hunger for a fight. Hunger to make its own chaos.
Five of its six heads rose in the air and trumpeted out its own warcry. “HONK. HONK. HONK. HONK. HONK.” The chorus of multiple voices giving life to the discordant battle hymn gave it an almost demonic resonance. The knife wielded in its far left head cemented its intent. One that had been correctly assumed even if the logic behind the reasoning had been initially flawed. Now there could be no doubt.
Goose charged.

The six headed demon stood as fierce and fearless as Hiro would expect the leader of such monsters to act. Five of its heads staring at him with ill intent, the sixth holding a knife glistening menacingly in the light of the sun, almost with seeming perfect control and finesse causing the glare to hit Hiro’s eyes just as it decided to cry out its murderous creed and charge him. This goose was out for blood… Four heroes had not done anything to stop its desire for it, and Hiro was next! "Step back!” he’d call out, trying to shield him from the sharp glare blinding him. He swung his sword towards the goose, hoping it was enough to make it heed his demands. But there was something about the encounter that had already managed to work his way up his spine, his instincts knew the threat was real and the sword seemingly reacted to that as the dented and blunted exterior sharpened itself. It couldn’t cut much, but with the Goose on the warpath and using such cunning tricks, maybe it was a matter of time before it truly got bad...

Humans had separated themselves from the rest of the predators at the top of nature’s food chain through the use of logic and reasoning. Granted, they had logic and reasoned themselves into bigger weapons and wars over the years, becoming their own worst enemy, but sometimes their intellectual abilities helped them to avoid trouble. Sometimes they even had a conscience that played a part in skirting around confrontation.
Goose was untroubled by such things.
There was no logic, no reason, and certainly no conscience providing an obstacle to its warpath. As such, the warning cry and the slash that followed it held no sway over the beast. It barreled full momentum toward and potentially into Hiro, taking the swing to one of its many necks with a, “HONK, HONK,” of pain from the afflicted appendage. Meanwhile, four other heads were trying to bite at him with fanged bills (and tongues) while a fifth, the one with the dagger, tried inelegantly to slice him wherever it might be able to reach as it flailed about.

It was clear to Hiro that his sword was being respected, but that hadn’t stopped the six headed behemoth from lessening its ferocious onslaught on him, much at it had undoubtedly shown the other heroes that had fallen to it. "If you think you can make me your next victim, you’re massively mistaken!” he claimed as he managed to avoid the erratic swings of the knife. An amateur might assume it was because the goose had no idea what it was doing with it, but Hiro knew better than to underestimate this foul fowl. Its intelligence sextupled, along with its nastiness. If a normal goose was a load to handle, this one couldn’t be allowed to leave this fight without a true moment of deterrence. But Hiro would yowl as one of its beaks snatched his leg, the many fangs piercing his skin with the clear aim to cripple him and make it impossible to escape. But lucky for him, he had other plans. Butting it with the pommel of its sword, it made sure to force it to release its iron fanged grip, before planting his empty hand against a piece of debris and vaulting himself into the air. Gracefully landing a few feet back, but sadly not without giving away a buckle of his now wounded leg. Maybe the few seconds could give him a chance to think up a plan, something that could help him take out the goose without resorting to… permanent solutions. He might not hold himself to the inane bureaucracy that heroes were apparently bound by, but he wasn’t a cold hearted killer. Of people or animal life. But despite his hearts desires, his instincts grew harder and sharper, and along with it he could feel the blade becoming lighter, shimmering ever more dangerously in the light of fires and the sun above.

The hydra’s maw that had found purchase upon its prey was forcibly unlatched with a sharp crack. A bony protrusion lost to steel interference. Goose mourned the loss of its favorite fang with a baleful blare of organic trumpeting.
“HONK. HONK. HONK. HONK. HONK. HONK.”
What reprieve Hiro had quite literally pried from Goose would not last long. It launched itself into the air after the Vigilante with a flap (or several) of grand wings. However, it did not continue its mimicry of action by alighting on the ground after Hiro. It chose to remain aloft on currents that carried it overhead where it circled momentarily like a vulture as it prepared its next assault.
The sky was prime positioning for an aerial artillery drop. Fowl bowels let loose their barrage on those below. Filled from earlier feasting, it was quite the barrage indeed.

The foul clarion call would emanate from the fowl as it seemed to have little interest in backing down after Hiro had shown that he was not going to back down from the flapping menace. In fact, all it seemed to do was further agitate the demonic goose to even grander displays of violence, as it now showed its ability of flight. "That’s right, run away back to your lair, you coward!” he exclaimed in mild triumph. Although any sense of victory quickly vanished from Hiro’s eyes as he saw what nasty surprise the goose had up its… rear… "You wouldn’t!” Hiro called out in vain, hoping that the goose would know more sense than engage in a disgusting display of fecal violence. What started as drops quickly turned into a torrent, a proverbial hailstorm escaping from the Goose’s bowels. Drawing upon every inch of his abilities, Hiro’s instincts would power up the sword’s sharpness to its absolute extremes. What seemed nigh impossible became possible, as his sword became sharp enough to not just cut through the rain to keep himself from getting drenched, it would launch whatever was aimed at him straight at the ocean, back at the foul’s monsterous friends, he assumed. "Stop this madness, before I have to strike you down in the name of all laundry detergents!”

Goose obviously had no sense of honor. It also didn’t know what laundry detergent was. That didn’t stop it from making its own counter-argument to its target’s desperate last bid for peace.
“HONK. HONK. HO-”
The feathered fiend was stopped short of its full eloquence by a massive wave rising up from the shoreline and crashing into it. Garbled, but clearly angry, honks could be heard from the receding water. A sopping and bedraggled Goose was left in the sea’s wake as it receded. Except Goose wasn’t the only monstrosity on the sand now.
A gigantic mutated sea slug that had been the source of the wave had emerged. It carved a deep path through the beach toward dry land. Only Goose and Hiro between it and a feast of its own. The trail behind it was both faintly scorched and coated in a slimy film that sizzled on the sand.
Goose trumpeted in defiance of the intruder and shook off its waterlogged wings to take flight. Hiro was seemingly forgotten as it circled over the slug. Another bombing was let loose, aimed for the things many eyes.

Just when he hoped the foul fowl would ease off on its vicious onslaught, things got worse. The ocean shifting violently, causing the goose to even get caught in the wave hitting the beach. Hiro shielded his eyes against the salty ocean spray, but wasn’t safe enough to get completely soaked anyways. His clothing clinging against him nastily like an old wet newspaper, it made him feel all the more disgusted that the goose would be able to do such a powerful move that even put itself in danger. But at least, that thought changed when he looked again and saw the purple monstrosity on the beach, slowly and menacingly making its way onto dry land looking hungry for violence… and perhaps human lives. "Of course, it all makes sense…” Hiro exclaimed, looking dumbfounded at the goose and realizing that he had been fooling himself. "You aren’t just a minion, you are the leader of these invaders, and knowing you can’t beat me you just called out your ultimate minion!” Hiro exclaimed, once more fully missing the point. But his mind was set, as he assumed the goose was calling out his instructions to the massive slug, undoubtedly to aim its violence towards Hiro. Not wanting to wait for that to happen, his instincts took over and launched himself towards the new enemy, his sword perhaps not as infinitely sharp as a minute ago, but still capable of slicing into the massive body of the beast. And he’d make sure to aim at its legs, hoping light step could cut deep and decisive enough to hamper its movement… Or at least make it escape his onslaught! And in all the instinctual violence, he had completely ignored the goose overhead making another nasty bombing run.

Goose was not privy to the inner workings of a mortal’s mind. Even if such info was audibly relayed, it was rather unfortunately the definition of bird-brained. Only one had been able to bridge the communication gap with Goose, and it was most certainly not the sword-slinger below.
What Goose did know was that the new target was larger than the previous one. Which oft meant a bigger threat and even if that were not the case here, it certainly meant a bigger meal in the most literal of ways. As such, Hiro was ignored for the time being.
In spite of their dysfunctional dynamic, the previously warring pair had created opportunities for one another. Goose, in blinding at least a few of the slug’s eyes, had made it so that the creature did not see Hiro upon it in time to prevent blade biting into bulbous body. Hiro, in acting the slug in a more direct manner, fully distracted its attention away from Goose.
Blood gushed out of open wounds, but that wasn’t all. The same slime it left in its wake coursed through its veins—and now out of them too.
Acidic fluid sprayed out toward Hiro. Above, Goose dove, wholly unaware of the volatile nature of its opponent’s body. Yet another downside of being bird-brained as previously mentioned. It made contact, bills gorging themselves on an eye or two before the sting of astringent chemicals coated tongue and teeth. Pained roars came from both monstrosities. Odd gurgles from the slug and the wholly expected, “HONK. HONK. HONK. HONK. HONK. HONK,” from Goose.

Whatever they were doing, it definitely didn’t make the creature happy to be in the center of it all. The beast squirmed and roared discordantly from what happened, and Hiro knew he was making a dent. At least until he felt the acidic blood touch his tracksuit, and quickly started burning itself through the cheap polyester weave and sting his unprotected skin underneath it. His instincts barely registered it, though, but enough to make his body move and take him up. Using his abilities to scale the monsters like he was walking on flat ground, he sprinted and ran his blade along the beast lengthwise. It wasn’t going to be particularly deep, his blade wasn’t that amazing, but such a cut would undoubtedly be excruciating even for a monster slug. "Time to send you back into the ocean!” Hiro exclaimed as his eyes were bright blue from his activated quirk. He couldn’t stop, at least not for more than a second without gravity causing him to fall to the ground again. So instead he stopped near what he assumed was the beasts head, and with all his physical power jammed the sword into the beast, twisting viciously and violently. The beast would shake, roar louder than before and with more distress than it probably imagined ever experiencing. And whilst he dangled himself on the sword, not even the dripping acid burning his skin could make his fingers let go of Light Step.

Goose bobbed and weaved its way through the spurts of acidic blood erupting from the slug in the wake of the human’s sword. “HONK. HONK. HONK.” Three cries of uninterpretable approval. Though it would never admit it. Even if it could. Which it couldn’t. “HONK. HONK. HONK.” The last three were complaints. Goose wanted another piece of the slug too and Hiro wasn’t leaving much as the blob began to deflate from a loss of liquid.
Despite the painful blisters in its bills, Goose swooped down on Hiro, landing on his head. It used him as a perch to maintain proximity and balance as necks stretched out to take another bite or two of the slug. At least it was trying. The slug was beginning its death throes, thrashing about in a panicked frenzy trying to dislodge the bird and its two-legged nest.
