Now Playing: My Brother - BerserkWell, that could have gone a lot better. But...hey, at least he had the armor on beforehand. As Jack would grip the trees with his tentacles, his heart would drop to his stomach as they suddenly started to wiggle and wobble, shaking the trees with them. "Oh...FUUUUU-" Jack would be launched as he initially planned, but as he flew through the air at a speed that was less optimal than he wanted, the tentacles would suddenly whip and batter at their own user! Feeling the strength of his gadget at full force, he was grateful that the armor tanked most of the damage that was thrown his way. Even still, his sides felt sorer with each blow. "CHEAP ASS STUPID F***ING GIMMICK MY ASSHOLE!!!" he would exclaim as he would crash to the ground with a loud THUD and a cloud of dust exploding from the impact. Groaning, Jack took a second before picking himself back up. The armor at least held up surprisingly well, despite not really protecting him all the way. Good material, probably just needed extra density, he thought. Before he could get much of a second thought in, the loud sound of an explosion and the mountain rocking even more than it had been almost overstimulated Jack at the current moment. Looking upwards, seeing the rocks coming from the sky, Jack would grit his fangs underneath his helmet. From below him, he could hear the laughter of a familiar sounding prick... His eye twitched a little bit. The hell was this guy's problem?! He's met some guys with an ego before, but this was just aggravating, to say the least. Luckily for him, the guy with the balloon head would shout at them to take cover, using one of his own gadgets to make holes in the side of the mountain. A grin would quickly replace his frown, liking the guy's attitude a lot, especially compared to other present company. Quickly making a move towards him, Jack would once again use his tentacles to swat at any incoming rocks coming his way. Luckily, they seemed to want to behave for a damn change, so everything went relatively smoothly. Diving into the hole, he would then use his tentacles to make a cover for himself until the rocks would pass, and to take a moment to breathe. Heaving a deep breath and waiting for the coast to be clear, Jack would emerge from one of the holes, lifting his edgy helmet up to give Michael a friendly, if not sharp-toothed grin. "'Preciate the save there, amigo! Thanks a ton!" he chirped, hopping out and moving over to him. "You holding up alright there yourself?" he asked, a worried look in his eyes. That move was definitely dirty. He swore, if he saw that dude again... Oh. Speak of the devil. Jack would turn back towards Michael, a bit of a annoyed look on his face. "Go ahead and keep moving, man. I'm not really in this to win. Would be nice, sure, but this is about showing off gadgets and such. And...I think I have a good target for practicing. Go!" he said, lowering his helmet back down and started actually descending the mountain, towards the approaching Gen. Heaving another deep breath, his chest starting to pound with adrenaline, Jack would have a wicked grin beneath his helm as he got more in a fighting mood. "What, little foul play didn't go to plan there, Manure Breath? Here I thought it was just your attitude that was bad," he said, starting to rush towards him, tentacles flailing as he would attempt to slam them right into Gen! Maybe not the fight he was wanting, but probably the fight he was about to get.

Michael Faraday
Between a Jack and a Gen Place
Michael was relieved by the number of people he had managed to help with his quick thinking. These Well, Well, Well stickers were quite handy. While he had initially saw them as just was way to create hindrances as pitfalls for others, he was pleased to find the different ways he could not only utilize them but was able to help people with them. He already began to think how amazing these would be during rescue missions as a way for quick and safe excavation.
Michael continued to usher people into his safe holes to avoid the rock slide that the bomb had caused. He was still wasn't sure how it hand managed to get this far considering how far the zeppelin had been from them, but that didn't matter while there were people in danger. Many of the people hiding in his quickly made cave were appreciative, some had to swallow their prides to avoid being bowled over by boulders. Michael was just happy to be of help, even if there were some that were already planning to rush on ahead having taken advantage of his kindness. Winning wasn't Michael's focus here; he needed to showcase the gadgetry and be a hero while doing so. That's what really mattered.
While other competitors like Jack were not looking to cause conflict against others, he did seem ready to face against others that did seek that conflict. Gen had been antagonistic for the majority of this competition. Being competitive or even cocky was one thing, but he was actively putting people in danger. Jack was prepared to face off against Gen, but Gen had already proved how dangerous he was. Michael couldn't risk Jack or anyone else getting hurt if he got reckless. So when Jack stepped out to face off against Gen, Michael told the others to go on ahead, but he went out to join Jack. He didn't want anyone to get hurt and as dangerous as Gen was being, he wanted to protect him too. If they could stop him without needing to cause more damage or injury, then Michael would see it done.
Michael summoned forth his other equipment from storage, the Back Star Shield. Donning the shield on his back, he hurried to Jack's side to face off against Gen, hoping to end it peacefully before this got more out of hand. But Jack immediately jumped into the fray, flung forth by his tentacle gadget. "Wait! We don't need to fight!" Michael shouted as he ran after him to try to stop their ensuing brawl.
Notes & Tags: Jack Orion | Kaida Ikarashi | Kurokami Gen In possession of the Back Star Shield (Active) and Well Well Well Stickers (2/3 Pads remaining)| Only 1ft, 3ft and 5ft holes remaining on the two pads. TLDR: To keep Jack and Gen from hurting themselves or anyone else, Michael activated the Back Star Shield and went with Jack to face off against Gen.

Round 4 As rocks fell from the top of the mountain throwing up billowing clouds of smoke the music hitched for just the slightest moment before resuming as if nothing had happened.
"That's- Uh- Adversity can come from all manner of unexpected avenues on your road to the peak!" Windfall spoke up once the majority of the noise from the rockslide died down. "To be a Pro is to roll with the punches and never lose sight of your goal. Plus Ultra!"
Compared to the storm from before and the falling rocks right after the calm mountain looked downright picturesque, naught but the peak yet embroiled in a storm.
Yet where the tempestuous scenery had cooled the encounters between contestants grew positively heated. In some places it was the good kind. Michael's actions had prompted cooperation and supportiveness, the group of students sheltering within his impromptu cave putting their heads together to reach the top as a team. Students with items to ease the climb assisted others while those with more defensive ones made sure no stray rock or gust of wind dropped one of their allies. Those with more offensive ones cleared obstacles ahead to smooth the path or fended off hostile participants, the very picture of how hero society should be.
Another portion showed exactly why it was unlikely to ever reach that ideal. Emboldened by Gen's act and lack of consequences a cascade of betrayals and battles broke out as a number of contestants attempted to gain an advantage over their peers in less moral ways. Like Jack others stepped up to stop those, prioritizing the safety of others over their own victory or perhaps just following their own code, some might've even committed just for vengeance.
Less noticeable but still present were those who took Kaida's approach. Climbing on and reaching ever higher without getting dragged into the foibles and grievances of their fellows.
Which path would be the right one -or if there even was one- one could not say. Only the results could prove that, and the games were far from over.
Item usage: -Well Well Well: Usage successful. -Invisibility Onesie: Usage successful. -McGuffin: Usage successful. -Vine Whips: Usage successful. -Back Star Shield: Drawback triggered.
Back Star Shield Drawback: Be the star of the show, the very center of attraction! Quite literally in fact. For the duration of the round in which the drawback is triggered all attacks in the user's vicinity are drawn to them.
Welcome to Armor Wars, UAU Edition! As a reminder, all participants must post at least once per round, but can skip one round if necessary. A second skip will result in no tokens being given. No max on the number of posts per round. There are six rounds total, each a week long, with an optional seventh for everyone to write their closing replies.
If you wish to use your gear, add a TLDR on its usage in your post and we'll roll a die for it. If the roll fails, its drawback is revealed and you're free to RP it out as you see fit
Additionally, if you want to have any cool moments with your character but have it be kept as a surprise, or if you're just unsure of whether an action's viable, feel free to DM me(Jinx) and we could try to work it out!
The next round will begin on 07/02/2024 @ 4pm PST

Gen raised his foot towards the flying suit of vines and metal. With all his might, he stepped forth, raising a wall of blue ice under his feet, one that Jack’s attacks were bound to crash into. Not like it had a snowball’s chance in hell in stopping that attack. Holy fuck, that was some real doc ock-type shit. With every swing of those damn vines, that Jack kid was tearing about three different trees into chunks of lumber. Lucky for Gen, any suspicions he had about his next target were proven true. He was one of those who was too good to be true. One of those so-called “good guys”. One who would be stupid enough to get in between this battle.[break][break]
His black shield changed the course of Jack’s strikes to an almost miraculous degree. It drew them in like a magnet, before absorbing everything that thing could throw his way. And all to save a piece of human garbage like Kurokami Gen. “Aww, you saved me, Balloon Boy~” Stepping out of his ice-cold cover, the bastard’s voice would tauntingly echo through the air, but by then, his next plan was already in motion.[break][break]
“But if you’re here…” That’s when Jack and Michael could see it, peeking behind the treeline. A great shadow that would sunder this great valley, placed into the hands of the most inhumane students to ever walk these Halls. The Zeppelin. “Who’s gonna' save your friends?” And with a single touch of a screen, the blimp released its payload again. Threatening to unleash a second impact to dwarf the first. Though, Gen wasn’t aiming for Michael, nor was he aiming at Jack. When a guy raises up his shield, you don’t aim for it, you aim for what he’s trying to protect. Gen was gonna’ hit him where it hurt.[break][break]
He was aiming for those poor defenseless climbers. Michael had spent so much time and effort trying to save them, coddling them with his naive generosity but now that he'd left them on their own, no one could save them from what was coming. There were no more giant caves to save them from this one. They were too busy trying to hold on, that they’d forgiven for not seeing the airstrike aimed directly at their heads. And with these two idiots so occupied in seeing who fights who, they'd be too slow to save them. That was, of course, if the proverbial rolls of the die worked out. For this plan, though, he could rest easy. His conscience put at ease knowing that no matter how this shook out, someone was going to suffer. For example, if, worst case scenario, this bomb blows up on his face, he'd made sure to drag two people into the blast range with him. [break][break]

As Jack would swing down onto Gen, the latter would start to counter with a wall of ice to defend himself. The dragon's gadget seemed to be too powerful for it, though, as it would start to shred through the ice like it was butter. A testament to just how powerful this tech was, despite the drawback that had activated earlier. Again, Jack would really have to talk to whoever designed these after this was done. He honestly wouldn't be done with them quite yet if he could talk his way into it.
However, just before the whips would make contact with Gen, Michael would activate the shield on his back, drawing in Jack's attack in admittedly a miraculous way! The force of the unstoppable whips hitting the immovable shield would be enough to send a strong gust of wind from the point of impact, Jack blinking in surprise at Michael's interference. His eye twitching a little bit, his anger now visible as the armor around him would recede back into his helmet.
"Oh, what the shit, man?!" he snapped, sharp teeth bared in annoyance. Before he could chide him more, though, Gen would pop out from behind his ice wall to start mocking him. Turning his glare towards the slime bag, he was about to physically throw Michael away from this so he could deal with Gen himself. That was, until he would turn their attention towards own high-ranked gear, threatening to drop another bomb not on them, but on other climbers just trying to do their thing.
"You...are actually f***ing insane. You best pray when this is over, freak. I definitely ain't done with you," he snarled, the look in his eyes honestly saying even more than what he just said. He didn't know what he was going to do. Beat him to a pulp? Drag him to the headmaster's and demand his expulsion? Worse than that?
Before all that, though...
Jack would suddenly start to back up, claws digging into the ground beneath him. "MICHAEL, KEEP THAT SHIELD ON AND GIVE ME A BOOST!!!" he exclaimed, rushing towards him out of seemingly nowhere. Jumping up, and aiming right at Michael's shield on purpose!! As the forces would once again collide, another large shockwave would send the dragon flying towards the bomb that would be dropped! Honestly, adrenaline would make him completely forget that his armor had receded only a few moments prior, and only now realizing that...
This was probably going to hurt, wasn't it.
Nonetheless, it was far too late for that now. Hurtling towards the bomb, Jack would swing his whips down, the momentum causing him to spin around rapidly like a wheel! Moving somehow even faster than he had done before, Gen's previous words would echo in his head for a split second. 'Who's gonna save your friends?'
I WILL, DAMMIT!!!
Assuming everything went accordingly, Jack would slam right into the bomb, a literal spinning wheel of tentacles! Now, what the result of this would be was extremely up for debate. But knowing his luck, the dragon was probably going to be in for a world of hurt.

Michael Faraday
Song of Rage and Ice
As the two competitors tried to duke it out, Michael ran over to try to stop them. While Gen had been reckless and dangerous with his item, beating him down would do nothing but give self-gratifying relief. Giving into anger and hurting him was unnecessary, they could stop him without needing to harm him... at least that was the thought.
As Michael got closer to the two, he must have activated a function of the shield he hadn't expected, maybe the designers hadn't either. It began sucking in attacks towards his shield like iron to a magnet. It was a surprising revelation as Jack's tentacles began whipping right at Michael. He swiftly twisted for the attacks to strike against the shield on his back. Michael was relieved that he was able to draw the attacks away from Gen before it would do serious damage but Jack clearly did not feel the same.
"We don't need to hurt him to stop-" Michael shouted sternly back but was cut off as Gen made it clear that unless incapacitated he was a far greater danger than Michael would expect. Gen laughed and mocked Michael for saving him and moved to press the button to bomb the competitors again.
"NO!" Michael shouted out.
Michael hadn't noticed a competitor that had been sneaking their way along side of the conflict. Even when they dropped their invisibility, he hadn't seen them until he heard the phrase: "What time is it?" If their intervention hadn't been enough to take them down or at least stop Gen from dropping the bomb, it seemed Jack had another idea in mind.
Jack rushed towards Michael looking to rebound himself off the shield. Michael turned to line himself up with Jack's approach to allow him to launch himself towards the impending danger.
Trusting Jack to some how handle the possible destructive force, Michael turned his attention back toward Gen. He didn't want to get violent but it was clear that Gen would continue to be a threat if left active. Michael was normally such a soft and gentle person, he hated conflict and fighting, but he knew that sometimes a hero needed to act for the greater good. If there was no other way, then he'd have to fight.
Michael charged towards the ice wall that Gen shielded himself behind. Michael unfolded his Well Well Well sticker book to pull out a set of 3 foot diameter stickers. Slapping them to the wall of ice, an assortment of overlapping holes to instantly form for him to bound through and rush straight towards Gen. Rage from the disregard of human life Gen had shown drove Michael straight at him with a fist cocked back. Michael threw a punch, but it went wide, angry as he was, he still struggled with causing more pain than needed. Rather than thrusting his fist into Gen's face, his punch clotheslined the boy, hooking under his chin and catching his neck to knock him to down in one desperate swing. He had seen how Gen was controlling the zeppelin, so he now just needed to keep him from touching the control pad again.
Regardless if it was Kaida's stun gun or Michael needing to charge in, Michael would rush to disable Gen. He scrambled down, coiling his arms and legs around Gen to pin him down to the ground. Michael would stay here for the rest of the competition if he had to to keep Gen from harming anyone else. "Stay down! Don't make this worse than it has to be." Michael barked sternly down at his prisoner.
Worse case scenario and the bomb dropped and Jack had been incapacitated: Michael would rush towards the bomb to attempt to pull it towards the shield. He would dump his stickers onto he ground to create a crater for the bomb to be pulled towards with his shield on his back and contain the explosion's impact within the hole.
Notes & Tags: Jack Orion | Kaida Ikarashi | Kurokami Gen In possession of the Back Star Shield (Active) and Well Well Well Stickers (1/3 Pads remaining)| Only 1ft and 5ft holes remaining on the pads. TLDR: If Kaida didn't stop Gen from dropping the bomb with their stun gun: Michael used the backlash from Jack's attack on his shield to launch Jack towards the zeppelin like Jack planned. Michael charged at Gen, attempting to use his 3ft Well Well Well stickers to get through Gen's ice wall and clothesline him to the ground. Michael then would try to put Gen into a hold to prevent him from using the zeppelin's controls again. I'm assuming with the Speed and Strength gap between Michael and Gen this would be plausible if he can get through the wall.

Round 5 Like the shadow of death the outline of the Zeppelin hung heavy over the mountain, stopping above the group of innocent students with a loud creak. The creak of a hatch opening and dropping its payload.
The time it took the Zeppelin to reach this far was all several enterprising heroes needed to attempt to stop it. Kaida's stun beams fire at their target, intending to end the conflict before it can escalate further. Yet at the same time Jack and Michael combine their efforts to devastating effects, sending Jack flying towards the bomb. The closeness to Michael's shield meant that the beam intended for Jack came right at him instead, just as the other one flew straight at Gen.
Above, the dragonman flew straight towards calamity, turning into a spinning mass of vines accompanied by a passionate shout that resounded through the arena and colliding with a devastating impact and causing it to detonate far enough above the crowd that most remained unharmed. Yet even once the explosion faded there was no longer any sign of Jack.
"To be a hero is to get back up when you fall. A hero isn't someone that necessarily succeeds from the get go every time but someone that continues striving against all odds. Never give up, no matter what happens."
"YYYEEAAAAAHHHH!!! You tell 'em, Windfall. No matter what it takes, no matter the price or the cost. Keep fighting. PLUS. ULTRA!!!"
Their words weren't empty nor were they unheard, for even if not as many people still stood atop the peak as before a stalwart few yet remained. Nor did their numbers solely shrink, for more and more contestants were nearing the peak. Closest to reaching it at present was Kaida Ikarashi, mere moments from claiming her place at the top.
With the two Pros' heartfelt message resounding throughout the arena even some of the more unfortunate and foolhardy contestant could hear it. At the very edge of the arena Jack reappeared in a flash of blue light not unlike the one given off by the inventory whenever an item was manifested and ahead of him several of the others that were seemingly taken out by the rockslide were running to catch up despite their disadvantage.
The spirit of heroism was alive and present, whether it be through Kaida's unrelenting journey to the top, Michael's valiant attempt to protect his fellows, Jack's sacrifice or Gen's -charitably interpreted- attempt to provide adversity to overcome.
Little time remained to reach the top. Who would reach it and manage to stay there until the very end only time could tell.
Item usage: -Zany Zeppelin: Usage successful. -McGuffin: Drawback triggered. -Vine Whips: Usage successful. -Back Star Shield: Drawback triggered. -Well Well Well: Usage successful. -What time is it? use 1: Usage successful. -What time is it? use 2: Usage successful.
McGuffin Drawback: Instead of activating the helmet may simply amplify the user’s passionate shout, ensuring it is heard throughout the entire arena and to the audience without any other effects.
The next round will begin on 14/02/2024 @ 4pm PST

[nospaces] [attr="class","currage"] [attr="class","currage1"] [attr="class","curragetop"] [attr="class","curragelyric"] Welcome To My Horrid Reality [attr="class","currageimg"] [attr="class","currageimg2"] [attr="class","currageimg3"] [break][break][break] [attr="class","curragepost"]
True to what you’d expect, the Heroes were quicker to move than they were to think. Unfortunately, this meant Gen had little time for the latter. He thought the ice wall would be enough to hold someone of Michael’s level off for long enough. He would’ve been right, if not for the star-shaped hole that appeared in the middle of it, or the balloon that popped out of it. He was smarter than he let on, and now that he was in range to touch him, the little bastard was out of tricks.[break][break]
No matter how he tried, though, it seemed like all of Michael’s efforts were for naught. Not because he couldn’t beat Gen one-on-one. God no, without his Quirk, the alleged wielder of All for One was out of tricks. There was nothing his skinny ass could do to stop the faceless man from taking him to the ground and tying his body in knots like a pretzel. He might’ve kept Gen from harming anyone else, but at the end of the day, all his Heroics had done was give him a better view of his handiwork.[break][break]
The bomb dropped right where he wanted it to, and Jack’s armor did nothing but make him the loudest twat in the room. The sight of that little Spyro the Dragon reject going up in flames and blasting off like a Team Rocket character. It was beautiful, enough to bring a single delicious tear of joy into Gen’s eyes. And the best part was, he’d thought of just the right thing to cap the moment off. “Eat shit, Liz-let!”[break][break]
It was perfect, but the tight hold Michael had on him didn’t leave him much time to celebrate. Even a talentless hack like him was starting to feel the limits of this bout. If he had his other toys, he could’ve set that his dumb rubber ass on fire, or maybe make him think he gave him Cancer, or any number of equally devious tricks up he’d become accustomed to hiding under his sleeve. Oh well, if he wasn’t going to win, then at least he could celebrate bringing another Hero to his level.[break][break]
“You know this is all your fault, right, Balloon Boy?” Gen’s head craned towards his captor, looking him dead in his… well, not eyes, cause he didn’t have them. “You could’ve let Jack beat me while I was Quirkless, but you had to stop him. Hell, you had the shield. With his help, you could've saved those kids in no time. That should've been you up there.” With a nod, he gestured towards the massive tool hanging from his back, the same one that had soaked all of that suffering, and the same one that should’ve stopped that bomb. His lips then twisted into a sickening smile, one that seemed to mock the red-faced man. "You could've stopped all of this, Michael~"[break][break]
If Michael was so intent on not taking any liberties, then Gen would just keep going, and going, and going. Hell, even if Kaida wanted to take another shot, she was too far up to listen to the boy talk his shit. A fact that would play into his favor. “And the best part is, the girl who’s gonna’ win this thing? She’s just. Like. Me.” Each word came with a pause that only helped enhance the sinister tones behind his words.[break][break]
The poor excuse for a man couldn’t help but chuckle at the irony. Everyone loved to cry foul at his antics, but when others played the game, these so-called Heroes stayed oddly silent. “You saw her trying to stop him, didn’t you? She wanted those kids to fall off the cliff. Hell, she was trying to make it happen, and now she gets to sit pretty at the top while Jack-chan takes a trip to the hospital.” He paused for a moment, trying to let the so-called Hero catch up to the facts, before going for the coup de grace.[break][break]
“And doesn’t that make you sick?”[break][break] [attr="class","curragebot"] All of you fools just never change. [break] Time, time again, you die in vain. [break] Now its starting again, the tale is reaching its end. [break] With all your beautiful bodies [break] Twisting, crying, howling, broken.

Michael looked off towards the explosion. That was his fault... he should have been more assertive and charged in to stop the bombing rather than listening to Jack's plan. Because of his own amiable demeanor, Jack could very well be dead or very seriously injured. None of this made sense... why was this showcase only really showing the worse in the competitors? Jack's impulsive self-destructive behavior, Gen's dangerous and villainous nature, Michael's own lack of experience and capabilities...
Michael kept a firm grip on Gen, refusing to let him weasel free to use his dangerous equipment again. All the while Gen spewed out hateful vitriol like he was vomiting out pure poison. Snide jabs and twisted hypotheticals to try to pierce into the young balloon man's golden heart. Michael said nothing as Gen ridiculed, mocked and belittled him, keeping Gen pinned.
Michael kept his latex encapsulated face looking off towards the dissipating smoke from the bomb's explosion. As the smoke cleared and Gen finished his tirade, Michael finally looked down towards his violent classmate. "You know, while you have potential... you're a terrible villain." Michael said with a surprising gentleness as he stood up, forcing Gen to either stand in Michael's arm lock or be lifted like a hogtied animal. "If you actually tried to be creative and placid, you might have actually won this without needing to harm anyone. I'm sorry that you think you're too weak to do so, but you can do it. You don't need to be afraid. Strength doesn't come from the power needed to overcome an obstacle, it comes from facing the obstacle in the first place. I get that your scared, but I'll help you."
Not letting up on his hold, preventing Gen from using his gadgetry, Michael carried Gen up the side of the hill. "You're not alone, I'm here." Michael said with far more patience than Gen deserved, but he wasn't going to give up on the good in people even when buried deep under fear and anger. With only one arm available, he would still try to help anyone they crossed paths with, while maintaining his other arm's lock on Gen. Even without access to his quirk, he had plenty of flexibility and the knowledge of how to use that flexibility to disarm and detain someone. Gen would likely do more harm to himself than managing to break or slip loose of Michael's grip. Michael hoped no other dangers would rear up against the competitors. There had been enough pain for today.
Notes & Tags: Jack Orion | Kaida Ikarashi | Kurokami Gen In possession of the Back Star Shield (Active) and Well Well Well Stickers (1/3 Pads remaining)| Only 1ft and 5ft holes remaining on the pads. TLDR: Michael kept his hopeful composure as he explained to Gen that he didn't need to worry about being scared and that Michael would help him. Michael kept his arm locked around Gen to try preventing him from using his gadgets as he escorted him up the mountain towards the finish line, helping anyone he passed on the way.

Hurtling towards the bomb at a speed many could only dream of reaching, Jack only had a split second to pray that this would actually end up working out. He didn't really care if he got hurt in the process - his instinct was to help and protect people, even at the cost of his own wellbeing. Kind of a self-destructive behavior, in hindsight. Even so, in a real situation he would probably do something like this again, especially if people were in legitimate danger.
Luckily for him, this wasn't an actual situation. Kind of what he was counting on.
As he collided with the bomb, Jack would feel the heat of the explosion across his skin and scales, the force of the blast about to completely send him flying and probably leave him in a state not dissimilar to how he ended up against the Tortured. However, in a split second, a blue light would fill his vision, and suddenly he would find himself rolling towards a tree at the bottom of the mountain. The loud sound of leaves shaking would probably attract the attention of people, as Jack would lay on the ground, groaning a little bit.
However, that groan would slowly start to turn into laughter, loud enough for everyone in the arena to hear. "Pffff...BAHAHAAHAHA!!! IT WORKED! I KNEW IT!" he cheered, standing up slowly as dusting himself off. Hearing the lame insult from Gen, he would grin up at their general direction. "What, did ya think they would actually let a student blow up?! Boulders hitting people and causing some damage, maybe. But that? HA! HAHAHAHA! GET F***ED, MANURE BREATH!" he hollered, laughing harder, mainly just in disbelief that actually panned out almost perfectly.
Now then, as for getting back up the mountain...yeah, nah. Definitely wasn't about to win this thing by any stretch of the imagination. Then again, that wasn't really the goal for him anyway. As far as he was concerned, he succeeded in what he set out to do. Showed off the hard work and ingenuity of the Support Classes, and stopped people from getting hurt too much and preventing them from a fair shot at winning. All in all, a win in his book!
Stretching out the cramps from that little crash, Jack would start to make his way back up at his own pace. Even if he wasn't going to win, he was still at the least going to congratulate the winner. Shit, probably should have brought a snack bar or something to at least tide him over on the trip back up. Eh.

Round 6 Storm cloud continued to swirl around the mountaintop, rain seeming to lighten and intensify in tune with the chords of Raging Winds' song. Lightning struck at seemingly random locations, most hitting the circular peak but some striking randomly all across the mountainside. Shards of rock and stone flew all around, both from lightning shattering stone and carried by the furious gales.
On one end of the peak four protrusions grew followed by a fifth diagonally from it, slowly rising up into the shape of fingers as if the peak was the palm of a giant hand.
"Rise. Rise forevermore. Today you climb, striving to reach the top and then struggling to maintain your place at the peak. This is not a one time thing. It is a fight that continues as long as you breathe. Do not give up young heroes, for it is through eternally reaching higher that you may find yourself having become the very peak others reach for. The bedrock holding up our hopes and dreams. Never give up. Reach beyond your limits. Say it with me everyone! PLUS! ULTRA!"
The storm endured yet so did the contestants, even as the giant timer in the sky that slowly became visible as the clouds expended their charges and thinned ticked down to herald the end of the competition.
"Even if the peak is beyond your reach do not give up. Prove to yourself that you can do this, no matter how long it may take. Never give up. Never surrender."
Windfall seemed to take a deep breath. When she continued to speak it seemed from the heart, her words weighing as heavy as the mantle that would one day be placed upon the prospective heroes' shoulders.
"One day, somebody will pray for a miracle, pray for something to save them... and that prayer will be answered because you will show up. That's how it works, because that's what a hero is."

“What the fuck did you just say about me?”[break][break]
The words flew from his mouth like shells from a shotgun’s barrel. Spat out with nothing but raw vitriol behind them. There was something different about it, though. Gone was the usual performative arrogance from before; he wasn’t trying to pour salt on the wound, if anything, he was sounding an awful lot like his usual victims. And there was a simple reason behind it. Whether he wanted to admit it or not, Michael was dead-on.[break][break]
Worse yet, he had no Quirk to hide behind. No impenetrable pokerface to conceal his anger, no prepared retort to mask his instinctive response, and most frustrating of all, he was out of options. Michael’s grip was locked in tight, so all Gen could do was listen to all of those Heroic words and seethe. [break][break]
He could stomach a thousand stupid speeches about trying your hardest, a million condescending attempts to redeem him, and by now, he’d even grown desensitized to that stupid fucking catchphrase, but much like him, Michael had tipped his hand. He’d gone too far, only, on the other end of the spectrum. He could’ve kept his righteousness to himself and lived to fight another day. Once Gen heard those last five words, it was all over for the both of them. This event and everyone involved could go to hell for all he cared, so long as he was taking this balloon-faced piece of shit with him.[break][break]
"You're not alone, I'm here."[break][break]
The freshman had every reason to believe that he’d exhausted every one of his senior’s options. There were just two problems he couldn’t have possibly accounted for, the first was that not all of his Gear was connected to that fancy device on his, and the second was that Kurokami Gen didn’t care who got hurt, so long as Michael was one of them.[break][break]
“Then you can go right to hell with me.”[break][break]
The young placed both of his legs onto the steep mountain-side wall his enemy was climbing for him. A burst of compressed air would shoot out from the sole of his mechanized boots. That much was immutable, because once again, when Ana Borovsky made you a piece of Support Gear, it worked, no dice rolls required. [break][break]
His body, tied up as it was, did its best to use that momentum against its captor. It didn’t matter if he was breaking an arm in the process, Gen was putting all of his body’s weight into the single-minded effort of taking this motherfucker down with him. He might not have been that strong, but he didn’t need to be. This dumbass was climbing a mountain one-handed, you didn’t need to be Hercules to push him off the ledge. With every ounce of ill intent and the latest technology on his side, he’d keep pushing until he could finally feel Michael’s grip on the mountain go loose.[break][break]
And then, there was the fall.[break][break] [attr="class","curragebot"] Radiate, recognize one silent call as we all form one dark flame.

Michael Faraday
For Your Own Good
Michael wasn’t dissuaded by Gen’s harsh reaction to him reaching out to help him. It was disappointing but maybe Gen just wasn’t cut out for the hero profession. It didn’t mean he was a bad guy, just that he made bad decisions and twisted choices. Gen was misguided in his way of thinking but with care and patience perhaps he could be rehabilitated. Why on earth would he have been accepted into such a prestigious hero school if the professors didn’t see the potential for good that Michael extended the courtesy of. Even with his dangerous attacks on the other competitors the school did not intervene, so Michael had to trust that he was right that there had to be some good in his upperclassmen that was being repressed.
However, Michael’s good faith was once again met with Gen’s cruel and destructive behavior. Using one hand to scale the mountain side did not leave Michael much in the ways of defense when Gen activated some personal gear to release a blast of compressed air against the mountain side. The blast was enough to push Michael’s grip on the rocky terrain loose and jettison them backwards. Michael felt bad for Gen, the way he struggled against assistance was like a feral animal, scared and desperate. Michael wrapped his other arm around Gen, holding him firmly to his body as Michael attempted to position them for Michael to take the brunt of the fall. The shield on his back would likely be more than capable of absorbing the impact, but if Gen got loose he could very well get hurt or whiplash from it.
“I gotcha.” Michael said confidently to the rapid little second year as they fell. Bouncing and skidding slightly from the collision of the drop on his shield, Michael kept his grip firm on Gen. When they came to a stop, Michael looked down at Gen and despite his faceless appearance beamed brightly down to him. “You alright?”
The fall was nothing compared to the bombs earlier, but it was clear that Gen was not going to accept Michael’s help easily and the storm above the mountain was only gonna get worse. “Hey, sorry about this ahead of time, but I promise I won’t leave you behind.” Michael said in a kindly statement that didn’t quite match the tone of what followed. Freeing the other hand that he wrapped around Gen, Michael delivered a hard and decisive punch to Gen’s head to try knocking him out. If he was unconscious, Gen would be much less of a danger to himself or others and Michael could carry him the rest of the way and hopefully reach the top without being TOO late.
Notes & Tags: Jack Orion | Kaida Ikarashi | Kurokami Gen In possession of the Back Star Shield (Active) and Well Well Well Stickers (1/3 Pads remaining)| Only 1ft and 5ft holes remaining on the pads. TLDR: Michael held on tight to Gen so when he was air blasted down the mountain side Gen wouldn’t get hurt. Once they stopped, Michael apologized before punching Gen hard enough in the head to try knocking him out.
