[attr="class","nikki109"]A technically unsupervised visit to the city? With an actual effect on her grades at school? For the purposes of her own growth, this was the equivalent of Christmas, and being away from Andy was the cherry on top. Somehow she had managed to attract the attention of a Pro Hero who wanted to take her out on a patrol for a mentorship. Apparently, the very nature of her being at UAU made her a bit more infamous than she had hoped. Flying under the radar wasn't even an option, given her goals, but this was the kind of attention she didn't mind. It had a purpose.[break][break]

So she made her way into the more dangerous parts of Shinjuku which after dark was where some of the seediest criminals hung out. As always fear was the furthest thing from her mind and if anyone did attack her she knew via. the UAU handbook that she was authorized to use her quirk in self-defence if her life was in danger. She wasn't exactly eager to get into a fight, but it wasn't like she'd turn tail or call for help if it happened to end up that way. Making her way to the proposed meeting spot she'd take a leaning position against a building. Odd that this hero would be the late one when they were the one who invited her out there. ''Question tiiime.'' She said in a sing-song tone.

Rui had been so fortunate to come across a hero and even better, one of those gullible ones who wasn't prepared for her to ambush them. Sure they had retaliated with their quirk, but very few quirks could outright stop someone like herself in a single move. Now here she was, squatting down next to the hero who was laying up against a wall with a stab wound in their abdomen, one hand over it as they slowly breathed in and out, turning more and more pale as they looked up at Rui helplessly. Despite having lost, however, their eyes were still defiant. Something she enjoyed very much.

''How long does it take for a person to bleed out?'' She pointed a finger at the hero, waiting for a response, but nothing came. ''But seriously, you bleed just like the rest of them. It's interesting. You really should reconsider your line of work, bestie, you can't kill or capture anyone with a plant-based quirk like that.'' She wagged her finger back and forth. ''And don't you usually patrol with someone? I see you types in pairs all the time, where's your friend, bestie?'' From the opening of the alleyway they were situated in Rui turned to look as a young woman stopped and leaned against the building just across the street from them. ''Hey you! Move along there's nothing to see here!'' She pointed her bloody knife at Ylva. It didn't take a detective to clue together what was happening. Standing up, Rui walked a few paces forward, still keeping a distance from Ylva. ''Run, or I'll kill you.'' She smiled, piercing eyes looking into hers.

[attr="class","nikki109"]Periodically she would check her phone for the time, watching the seconds turn to minutes. Occasionally someone would walk and attempt to get closer either out of curiosity as to why a small girl was here all alone at night or perhaps criminal intent? Either way the vibe Ylva was giving off seemed to repulse those who would try repeatedly. Well...except for one.[break][break]

With probably the dumbest way to get attention away from your crimes she turned her head as Rui waved her knife at her. Perhaps if she was someone else this would have made her fearful, but instead Ylva just stood there unblinking taking in the situation. The threat was elevated when Rui began to advance on her, threatening her with death. With a slow blink, Ylva would exhale deliberately and speak up, "I'm waiting for someone. Unfortunately, that's not you. If you're lost, I believe the school is that way." She'd point down the opposite direction and then go back to waiting. As long as Rui didn't attack, she couldn't retaliate, but if she was dumb enough to go after her, well...it was gonna get cold really fast. [break][break]

She wasn't even slightly intimidated of her, she was even holding her knife out in the open and everything! Maybe she should consult Sho about how to intimidate people too, since people usually weren't that scared of Rui until they saw her quirk in action. ''School?!'' She scoffed, stomping the ground as she waved her arms around angrily. ''I'm older than you! You.. You look like you're late for recess!'' She retorted and what a scathing comeback it was. ''If you were really cool I was gonna let you watch me kill this hero.'' She pointed over her shoulder at her latest stab victim. ''But you insulted me. Insulting me isn't cool at all, bestie.'' She pointed her knife at the girl again. Then a devilish smirk crossed her lips. ''Did you know I'm a villain? My name's Mummy, I bet you've heard of me! I've killed lots and lots of heroes, thousands in fact!'' She was clearly faking the number, but it made her seem that much cooler in her own mind.

''I have an idea!'' She held up an index finger, smirking confidently. ''How about I show you what my quirk does? Just stay right there, bestie, I'll show you a good time.'' Her eyes widened as she assumed a running stance before sprinting right at Ylva. If she managed to get close enough she would try to stab Ylva in her left arm, but whether she actually did would depend on how the hero student responded. ''I want to see if you bleed like the others!''

[attr="class","nikki109"]The ability to sense moisture was always a constant for Ylva as she used this 'passive' quirk benefit almost all the time. It made it very hard to sneak around her, which greatly helped with her fearlessness in the face of danger. The odd thing about this girl was that even though she had a visual on her she couldn't sense anything internally. Did she not have blood? Curious. [break][break]

Ylva would push off the wall and stand upright. This didn't seem like the type to change their mind when they'd made a decision. As long as Ylva didn't make the first move she was fine to retaliate, well that was until she finally looked past Rui to see the disheveled and badly injured Pro Hero she was supposed to meet. Without skipping a beat, she would speak past Rui, "I'm authorized to use force here." she'd lift a finger and freeze the blood coming out of the wounds of the Pro. At least this would keep him alive until she could finish off this lost child. With a twist she'd point her finger up as Rui advanced, creating a large ice wall to either capture her in one go or at least stop her assault. [break][break]

This girl was going to regret being so rude to her. A few seconds from now she was going to be on the ground, apologizing to Rui and giving her all her money and her phone and other valuables too! She was going to rue the day she made someone as scary and super cool and awesome as her mad. It didn't even matter what her quirk was. Blades? No problem. Cannons, guns? Overrated, she never understood why people are scared of those. Her own quirk made her invincible, there was nothing she couldn't win against, no single quirk that could stand up to her...

Like a looney tunes character she ran face first into the ice wall Ylva had created. What kind of cheating power was this?! Rui had wanted to run over and stab this girl and what, now she just got to put random ice in the way? No fair! Her tantrum would only convey as much as she let out a low growl. ''I'm authorized to kill you dead!'' She shouted, cutting away at the ice wall with her knife to no avail. ''You make ice walls? Your quirk is STUPID like your FACE!'' She hissed, entering into another full sprint as she tried to run around the wall to reach Ylva, this time she was going to suffer the Mummy's wrath.

It wasn't even that big so it was truly surprising that she didn't manage to avoid it. What was even more impressive, but in a sad way, was that somehow someone like this was able to get the jump and beat a Pro Hero. Maybe the fact that the internship wasn't gonna work out wasn't such a bad thing anymore if this was who was supposed to train her.[break][break]

With the insult rolling off of Ylva about her quirk she would quip back, "I've never heard of you. Mummy, was it?" in a patronizing tone as she dropped the initial ice wall on purpose. When Rui would charge again this time Ylva would freeze the area around her feet, giving her a nice pair of icy shoes to slide around on or trip over if she wasn't careful. This one really wasn't very bright.[break][break]

''That's right!'' The fact that she mocked her and even lied about the fact that she hadn't heard her villain name before only made her angrier. How did Rui know she was lying? It was obvious, because she was a rising star and she was too important to not be known and feared by every denizen of Tokyo. She simply had to be lying!

With her next dash forward she knew she could seal the deal. She was too fast for this ice girl, too fast for her to have the chance to erect another ice wall on her. She was almost within range now and she was ready to swing her knife when suddenly... She started to lose her balance. Looking down she finally noticed the ice shoes she had been given a moment too late before she went skating right past her target. With an unceremonious crash she slammed into the wall, groaning as she tried to regain her footing. ''That's cheap!'' Even though she should be hurt by now, any bruises or scrapes she might have accrued were healed away so fast that you might miss it if you blinked.

''You just stay right there, bestie!'' The anger and frustration in her voice was toxic as she gave up on standing and instead started cutting her feet free from the icy shoes. What should have been a macabre display of self-harm wasn't that at all. Rui left no blood or anything behind, she simply cut her feet off and started growing a new pair almost immediately, although not so fast that she could just pounce on Ylva right away. ''You think you're so tough with your ice powers, my brother could kill you in one second!'' She panted, still getting used to the searing pain of taking off her own feet. She might have super regeneration, but she didn't have super don't-feel-any-pain.

''What's your name? I wanna know when I kill you.'' Using a dumpster as support she finally stood back up again.

''You think I'm getting tired, bestie? Not me! I can keep doing this all day!'' She dashed forward once more, her approach to attacking Ylva lacked any sort of tactic or strategizing, but unless the student started throwing out more serious attacks, or unless Rui finally managed to get close to her, they were probably going to be locked in a stalemate for a while.

[attr="class","nikki109"]Even though Ylva wasn't taking this seriously as in her mind she was basically fighting a kid...which wasn't exactly false she did notice the usual properties that Rui was displaying. The lack of internal moisture was odd enough but this display from her definitely made Ylva's eyes narrow. Her quirk was great at crowd control so there wasn't any reason to fear her reaching her especially if she kept running at her with a knife over and over. The regeneration made things a bit more troublesome than she had anticipated.[break][break]

She couldn't help but be a bit fascinated watching this display. Sure, she'd seen other quirkers able to heal themselves but to the degree of chopping off their own feet and then growing them back? This was on an entirely new level and it definitely made Ylva start to talk this more seriously. She turned briefly to see how the Pro Hero was doing, and for the most part, they had stabilized with the ice, preventing more blood loss. It would melt over time so this wasn't something she could draw out even though she could fight for much longer if she wanted to not get in trouble. "Regeneration, huh? Guess that means I can go all out." not that she couldn't before but this time she would make a deliberate sweeping hand motion as Rui charged, freezing the air around her head like a fishbowl to cut off her oxygen supply. Most people couldn't regrow a head so Ylva figured if there was anyway to disable her without worrying about collateral damage this would do it. [break][break]

''That's right! Not that going all out is going to make a difference for you, bestie.'' She grinned mischievously, believing full well that she could wear Ylva down with attrition and simply wait until she was too tired to use her quirk anymore. Assuming no cops or other heroes showed up before then of course.

Just when she thought things might start going her way she felt a cold freeze around her face and pretty soon she couldn't breathe. Stopping her advance, she clawed at the fishbowl made of ice, trying desperately to catch her breath, even stabbing it with her regular knife which wasn't nearly sharp enough to cut through it. She wasn't exactly in danger of dying by choking to death, but the experience of choking and then immediately healing it back, only to choke some more while your body fights for air wasn't a pleasant one. Panicking, she fell to the ground, flailing and rolling around as she tried to figure out a way to be rid of this bowl. Then an idea struck.

Getting back up, she charged headfirst into the nearest wall, then again, then kept smashing her head into the wall until the fishbowl began to crack and fall off, letting her breathe again. It was simultaneously painful and relieving as she let out a hacking cough, looking back at Ylva like she had just experienced the worst form of betrayal. ''You're gonna... Gonna need to do better to kill me, bestie.'' She mustered a confident smirk, standing back up, ready to charge again when she heard the sound of police sirens approaching. How long did she have? A couple of minutes? ''You didn't tell me your name, so now your name is Stupidface!'' One more charge at the student couldn't hurt. At least not her, but this time she was definitely going to cut or stab Ylva!

[attr="class","nikki109"]The irony of watching Rui flail around like a fish out of water when she had a fishbowl on her head was not lost on her. If one looked close enough one could see a slight smile on her lips. She was no sadist, but she liked to get a good workout, and with Rui's persistence on top of her highly potent regeneration, she was, in a way, the ultimate punching bag. There weren't many opportunities for Ylva to cut loose, and these days, that was less common with Andy breathing down her neck. [break][break]

Just as Ylva was about to test another application of her quirk she hear a loud cough from behind her "G-Gungnir!" Ylva's head would spin around to look at that Pro Hero, who had managed to push himself up to his feet, panting and clutching a phone. "Authorities are a few minutes out. We need to withdraw." he stumbled a bit on the wall as he tried to stand on his own two feet, the ice keeping his wounds slowly melting in the time Ylva had been 'playing' with Mummy. [break][break]

She would turn back to Mummy and would begin to 'assault' and by assault she would freeze the space from the ground up to create a large thin wall between her and Rui. Then another and another until their were multiple thin ice walls stacked between the two them. She figured if she couldn't keep Rui down, she could at least keep her from getting any closer. From watching her deal with the fishbowl it wasn't too much to assume that she wasn't that physically strong. So as the sires closed in Ylva would retreat from the fight, putting the Pro Hero over her shoulder as they walked to get him some medical treatment. Whether Mummy was arrested or escaped ultimately didn't really matter to her. She was just a kid. [break][break]
