She was in her office going through her notes with Jun from their last session together. She had a call scheduled with Kazashi McCoy tomorrow in the hopes that she could gain some more insight into the struggling hero student. She had also scheduled a short meeting with one of the teachers that taught the more intensive course material, Mark Browning, in the hopes of getting to know Jun a little better without putting pressure on her. Should she reach out to Kaida as well? The thought had crossed her mind, but she hesitated mainly because Kaida was another student and it might just complicate things. While going through the notes she glanced up at her analogue clock and almost jumped out of her seat. At this rate she was going to be late for her meeting with Lone Wolf. She had contemplated inviting him into her office, but they were both busy people so she figured she could just book an empty classroom for twenty minutes or so. ''Sorry I'm late!'' She exclaimed as she walked into the classroom she had scheduled for them, slightly out of breath. ''So, as you know I help the students process their trauma, stress and any forms of anxiety they might be feeling as a result of their personal lives or our school.'' She held up her notebook and was ready to take notes. ''To that end, I would like to ask you about Junsuina Kanjo, hero name, Mood Ring. I believe she's taken your classes, Browning-san? What is your impression of her?'' Before their conversation could really get going the emergency call came in. For Sadako, it was a small walkie-talkie-looking device that immediately buzzed with static. If her colleague had a device on him too it would go off at the same time. In her experience that wasn't all too common. She gave him a serious look and put the notebook aside immediately before answering the call. ''This is Gleipnir.''''M-MONSTERS IN TOKYO BAY-''A short, but chilling message. ''Could it be a villain attack?'' She looked up at him, readjusting her tie as she walked. ''Can you drive? Public transit is too slow.''lonewolf

There was nothing Mark hated more than bureaucracy and coursework. He was a bit surprised that he managed to get away with so much for so long, but with the new support head he wasn't worried about it negatively impacting his classes. In adversity lies opportunity, and already plans were being formed in his head. But that wasn't why he was in this classroom today. The school councilor had reached out to him regarding one of his test dummies, and while he didn't want to attend the meeting he agreed in the end. Mostly because he had noticed a trend with Kanjo, and while he claimed he didn't care he didn't want to learn of any nasty surprises within her dorm room in the future. He had brought a golf club with him, practicing his swing when Sadako entered the room. "You were late?" There was a duality to Mark that reverberated throughout the school. On one hand he was lazy and avoided doing any serious academic work. On the other, he created insane and terrifying gauntlets that would challenge anyone and everyone within the school. He lined up another swing, pretending to look down the fairway as Sadako made her opening comments. "To sum her up, she takes herself too seriously." He looked over as the call came in, raising an eyebrow and, hearing some of the panic on the other end, tosses the club aside and starts towards the door. "Transit is always slow. C'mon, I have an idea what we might be in for."Through the building, out to Parking, and pulling out his keys Mark would make sure the Caddy was unlocked before hopping in the driver's seat. "If it's at the bay then it might be those weird sea monsters making their way to shore again. Took out a group of fishmen with another hero not long ago." That was still a strange experience, thinking about it. "Even won a bet, believe it or not. Then again, my partner that day wasn't exactly the best combatant." He pulled out of the place once Sadako was in, jerking the car around and putting the pedal to the metal. He flicked something on his dashboard, some weird radio device as he began to make his way to the street and then towards the bay. Sadako Gotoh,

''Yeah..'' She said, still catching her breath and glancing down at his golf club. ''I didn't interrupt anything, did I?'' She added with a smile. Was it normal for golfers to practice their swings in classrooms? She wasn't going to judge him for it. Every staff member working at UAU lead busy lives so maybe this was the only time he could get some practice in. She was about ready to take notes when the calm came in. Junsuina Kanjo would have to wait, when lives were on the line that had to take top priority. ''You do?'' She followed after Lone Wolf and got in the passenger seat next to him. ''Is that so? Monster attacks in Tokyo Bay? It's a popular place this time of year, who knows how many people could be in danger?'' She was already on auto pilot, sending texts around to some of her close hero colleagues. ''You had time to make bets? Was it with someone at the barbeque?'' Lone Wolf was an enigma to her. He seemed so unlike most heroes and yet you couldn't argue that he had earned the title. She perked up when a message came in on her phone. ''I got a message from Masao Ando, she's one of the second year support students. She's in the process of helping Freja Helt and Ylva Riis evacuate.''When they arrived at the scene absolute chaos awaited them. Screams, gunfire, sea monsters of all shapes and sizes and several housefires that were being contained with varying levels of success. Getting out of the car Sadako fastened her tie. ''Lone Wolf,'' Since they were officially on the go now she used his hero name. ''At a glance, how would you say this matches up to one of your gauntlets?'' She was both trying to lighten the mood, but also gauging whether any students that had been caught in this thing had a chance of making it out. lonewolf

Speeding through the city was something that Mark was still getting accustomed to. Before this he managed to tear through the streets of San Francisco, possibly the biggest urban center he had been in, but even then city streets were something he hated navigating. So many ways to cause a wreck, and his head had to be on a swivel. Thankfully, he knew where he was going. "Forget her hero name, but no she wasn't at the barbeque. Was at the big hero conference not long ago, got mad at me for just sitting at her table. I wager she's gonna die sooner or later. Shame, 'cause she's a pretty thing. Physically, at least. Think the word is 'oni' when describing her personality?" With how matter-of-fact he was stating this he was clearly not too invested in this woman. As they arrived he nodded to Sadako at the report, popping the trunk as he exited his side. "The gauntlets are to force students to expect the unexpected and to be mindful of their surroundings," he says, opening the back and then a locker he kept in the back. "With one being the least like them, I'd give it a three. I've never encountered anything like this before, and I got lucky last time." He brought up a sawed off shotgun, breaking it open and inserting two shells. "Think you can managed a buncha fish people without one of these? Also, can you pretend you didn't see this? There are some parts of my arsenal I'm trying to keep up my sleeve." As he shoved a handful of shells into his pocket a large starfish with some kind of sand dollar top landed some thirty meters from them, strange tendrils coming from the top trying to find prey. ''Oh, how cold. ~ Did she talk back to you like Iphigenia did?'' She giggled, finding the perfect opportunity to tease him. ''A personality like a demon? Only one hero comes to mind, but she looks more like a demon than she acts like one.'' Talking with Lone Wolf so casually made her realize how little they had actually interacted outside of work. She wasn't too surprised considering they were both busy people, but it was fun to get to know him even if it was a brief conversation heading into a chaotic job. ''I see.'' She let out a small sigh, shielding her eyes from the Sun with her hand as she looked out over the Bay. ''In many ways we serve opposite roles to the student body. Makes it fun to pick at your brain a bit. If I was in your shoes I think I'd go crazy.'' She held up a hand when he brought up guns. ''I can manage, I've never fired a gun before so I'd just get in your way.'' She quickly looked away from him again to take in their surroundings. Was someone already watching them? ''Ever the secret keeper, Lone Wolf-san.'' She turned back to smile at him. ''Don't worry I haven't seen a thing.'' Her attention was grabbed by the starfish off in the distance. ''Gross. I'll charge ahead, can you back me up with that thing?'' She pointed at his shotgun. There was no time to stand around as a scream came from the direction of the starfish, a tendril having latched onto a civilian that it was slowly dragging through the air. Sadako immediately entered into a full sprint and manifested two chains in either of her hands, slinging them at the tendril in question to try and slow down the monster's pull, entering into a tug of war she couldn't win. Even with solid footing she wasn't exactly made of pure muscles. Hopefully this was where Lone Wolf could back her up? lonewolf

At the Iphigenia comment he turned and gave Sadako a deadpan look. "Let's not compare her to Iphi. Iphi has class and deserves the best, where that woman is the devil in disguise." That was the most he was going to say. A nerve had been touched, but he should have expected it sooner or later. While he didn't know much about the rest of the staff at UAU, he at the bare minimum knew Sadako and Iphi were friends, or at the very least had a good working arrangement. Agencies tended to do that. Once he was prepared he'd beginning to move forward along side Glepnir, looking the weapon over. "Fair 'nough. The extent of combat I excel in is at a distance, so I'll do the best I can. I'd also unpack my reasoning, but it'd be a paper longer than some books and neither of us have the time for it." That, and he'd be imposing his world view on a country that saw things vastly different. Best thing to do is to blend in without showing too much. As Sadako made contact with her chains Mark would move up into a position for a clear shot. He didn't have slugs on him as they weren't as effective coming out of a short barrel, but he did have buckshot. He made sure his angle ensured the spread wouldn't hit anything he didn't want destroyed, and fired. The effect caused the tendril to weaken, but it was enough for Sadako to rip the thing off, saving the civilian. The monster let out a shriek, beginning to approach the pair as several more tendrils manifested. The body would be peppered with another round from Mark, who immediately began unloading. "Man, if only I had a flare and a bag of fertilizer. How we gonna do this?" Sadako Gotoh,

She laughed at Mark's response. ''I think I get it.'' A woman so bad, like a devil in disguise? He really had a way with getting himself into trouble, didn't he? It wouldn't at all surprise her if some day stories about Lone Wolf being an absolute delinquent when he was younger began to surface. Nevertheless, she wasn't going to tease him any further. Maybe if their reason for being in a car together wasn't so urgent she would have, but she needed to switch gears and mentally prepare herself to save people and fight villainy once they reached Tokyo Bay. ''No need to unpack here. Maybe one day over coffee, or at the next barbeque?'' She talked to him while still keeping her eyes on the monsters in the distance. ''At first I didn't like you, Lone Wolf-san.'' A dislike born from ignorance, and her inability to understand how he could treat the students so roughly. ''But I think I more or less get your reasoning. We both want the same thing for the school in the end, we just go about it differently.'' She slowly began manifesting a chain out of her hand, using her quirk to essentially draw her weapon. ''Don't worry, by the way, that was ages ago.'' She smiled over at Lone Wolf. ''Now we've been colleagues for longer. I guess first impressions are hard, aren't they?'' She knew she didn't always make the best first impressions either. To make matters more complicated, Lone Wolf was raised in a culture that was completely separate from her own. Sadako continued to pull against the tendril with all her strength, and once Lone Wolf so expertly sniped it out and weakened it, she yanked as hard as she could, ripping part of the tendril off and freeing the civilian in the process. She sprinted as fast as she could to catch the civilian before they hit the ground. ''You're safe now, evacuation is that way, just follow the road and try to lay low.'' She reassured the civilian, only having mere seconds with them before the beast went on the move towards her and Lone Wolf. ''Fertilizer?'' She asked as she dashed around a tendril that came for her. ''My quirk isn't great for fighting this thing and I assume we'd need a lot of fertilizer... Do you have any special rounds that are 'definitely legal to own'?'' She sure wouldn't mind setting fire to this thing with incendiary ammo or blasting it away with explosive ammo, but she didn't know what he had on hand. lonewolf

He shrugged a little, ready to take on the job. "First impressions mean a little too much, but not a lot that I can change there. We'll have to talk more when we don't have monsters bearing down on us." Which was a little too amusing as he didn't talk with many people outside of work. It was either interactions in the halls or something official, sometimes both. Like today. As he slammed a few more shells into the gun he'd begin to backpedal, looking around. "I wish! Have a box of dragon's breath, but that's more of a sparkler than anything else!" He'd duck and weave through some of the tendrils, taking note of the pier not far away. "I know we're supposed to keep collateral down, but I've noticed that things get built much more quickly here than home! How 'bout we trap this thing and figure out a plan from there?" He indicated the underpass a little ways away, and began to move in that direction, peppering the beast with more buckshot as he began to think. Fire wasn't the best thing that could be used, but the cogs were turning. Piers had balloons, right? Sadako Gotoh

''Seconded. I hate to cut our conversation short, but these things are more than a little distracting.'' What would Iphi do at a time like this? Staring down a giant monster with a limited repertoire of weapons and resources at their disposal. Lone Wolf's plan made her crack a smile. Ever the troublemaker wasn't he? Not that she would complain. Troublemakers got things done. ''I'll say it was accidental collateral if you back me up when they interview us. We're not responsible for what happens in a fight to the death. That's where civilians take priority over collateral.''Following Lone Wolf, Sadako would do her part to help draw the monster in closer, lashing at it with her chains dealing little to no damage, but most likely still enough to annoy it. ''Under here, right?'' She got careless for a moment and got whipped into the wall of the underpass, groaning out a quick, ''I'm okay!'' As she clutched her arm. To get back at the beast, she manifested chains and tried to box it in, or at least prevent it from backing up if it somehow caught on to what they were doing. In the meantime, while she was fully into committing to Lone Wolf's plan, she also kept an eye out for any potential weak spots the sea creature might have, just in case she needed to cook up a plan B on the go. ''All yours! My chains aren't strong enough to stop it, but I can help box it in.''lonewolf

Ah, now she was speaking his language! "Dunno what you're talkin' about, we're just tryin' to lead it away from people! Not our fault it got stuck!" Plausible deniability. Mostly. It wasn't foolproof, but it'd get the job done. While the buckshot was leaving marks on the beast, it wasn't deep enough to cause major injury. The most damage he'd find in shooting at it was he could keep the tendrils from doing any major damage to them. But once they got to the boardwalk, that's when things had to be done swiftly. It was possible to keep collateral down, but he had to act and fast. "Keep it there, best you can! I'll try to make this quick!" It was something he wasn't keen on doing; it relied on another person. It put someone else at risk for one of his stupid plans. So he couldn't dally, he had to act now.He ran up the steps, immediately looking around. He'd right away find a hotdog stand, and attached to it a propane tank. Not ideal, but good enough! He'd first unhook the thing, shaking it a little to gauge how full it was. It was at a little more than half, but it'd have to do. He'd find it in the nick of time as a tendril smashed through the panels, which was convenient as he didn't have to try and sling it up and over into the orifice at the top. He'd peek down ever so slightly, blow away an extra wooden panel to give the cannister enough space to drop, and then he slung down the tank. It wouldn't do any damage, and Mark wasn't counting on it. However, he'd draw the big iron and put a round into the tank before it vanished into the starfish. The resulting explosion rocked the boardwalk, splitting the creature open and nearly taking out Mark in the process as the valve flew up back at him, grazing his head and allowing a few curses in English. "Glepnir, tell me that thing's dyin'!" While it wasn't exactly dead, its insides were definitely exposed. And because it was in a lot of pain, it was more focused on escaping than it was on either Mark or Sadako. Sadako Gotoh

''Exactly, we can't be held accountable for that happening in the heat of the moment.'' She grinned cheekily, glad that they were on the same page. ''You got it! I've never restrained anything this big before, but I should be able to-... Wait, should I be taking cover?'' She looked over her shoulder back at Lone Wolf, but her attention was quickly drawn back to the beast as she dodged another attack in the nick of time. However, she could feel herself getting slower and slower. It didn't help that the beast's attacks were relentless and happening in such quick succession. Eventually she took a couple of lashes, one to her leg and one to the midsection, causing her to stagger for just a moment, allowing the monster to grab her and lift her up into the air. ''A little help?'' She called out, struggling against the creature's grip. Her eyes widened when she noticed the propane tank, closing them just before Lone Wolf set it off and only opening them again after the explosion had dissipated. ''It's dying, definitely dying.'' She replied as the tendril dropped her and she only just managed to land on her feet. ''It'll bleed out... I think we're safe to leave it alone now.'' She grimaced, holding a hand over her stomach. ''That really hurt. Are you okay, Lone Wolf-san? We should head back to the car for now.''lonewolf
