Sending the two off went smoothly, even if it wasn't that far. Well, Emi thought that before she saw Michael do his best to keep the momentum going. Huh, guess he really could do everything a balloon could? It made her happy to see someone she considered a friend succeed as much as he had and who was such a team player, too! [break][break] This, however, was broken quickly after as Emi realized that if she didn't do more than they were essentially a free target. "Think think...what can I do" she would take a look around, racking her brain for any thing she could use as a distraction. Then it hit her: she would need to be the distraction! Duh! Jun and Hawthorne did the same thing. Why couldn't she? [break][break] Charging up her gauntlets to their maximum capacity, she would take a sharp inhale before shouting "I'm going to break through and save those hostages myself!" an empty threat but hopefully it would be enough. If it wasn't enough her striking out almost at random with the gauntlets sure would be! [break][break] tl;dr Emi sends Masao and Michael (M&M) off flying and chooses to engage her gauntlets to, literally, throw hands at everyone around her to serve as a distraction for the other two. [break][break]

Bounce Back

Michael panted harshly as he tried to fight through the dizziness. His entire body stung like he had just sprinted a marathon, but he couldn't give up just yet. Even if this was just a simulation, a lot of people were counting on him. The plan seemed to be working as the majority of armed targets were firing on Masao and Emi. As the spots in his eyes began to settle, he focused and caught sight of the hostages. The only problem was, they had direct guards watching over them. Three of them opened fire at Michael's location forcing him to duck back behind the corner of the shipping container. Even with the shots being rubber bullets, Michael didn't want to chance getting hit by them. They didn't have much time left so he would need to act fast.

It seemed that Michael's desire to take this without any direct conflict had failed. Since they had already spotted him and time running out on this, his hand was forced. Perhaps his old friends in high school were right. It wasn't his quirk that would hold him back from being a hero... but it seemed his dream to not cause harm would put more in danger than help those in need. But Michael refused to accept that. He refused to let his weaknesses be the reason that people couldn't be saved. He came up with a plan of action, but needed it to be fast and precise.

Michael quickly peeked back down towards the area, ducking out of the way as more rubber bullets shot up at his very obvious red head. It would be hard to pull this off, but Michael was ready to do what it took. Michael gripped onto the edge of the container tightly as be backed away from the corner. His arms began to stretch tautly as he moved further and further backwards. He even stretched himself down the back side of the shipping container he was on; all the while tightening the rubber of his arms building up greater and greater tension. Pushing himself through the pain and his limits as he arched his back a final few inches and then jumped. Locked on the anchor of that edge, Michael's rubbery arms snapped back towards themselves, rubber-banding Michael towards his hands rapidly. Sling-shotting his whole body at a pellet's speed, Michael released his hold on the corner of the container and rocketed down towards the hostages and the guards around them. Michael hoped that the momentum and element of surprise with his launch would give him enough leeway to avoid any fire on him too directly and he plummeted at the attackers.

Getting closer was only half the plan as he stretched out his arms as fast as he could towards the two closest guards. While it would be easier to throw punches to try knocking them down or out, that wasn't acceptable for Michael, so he went for the next best thing, disarmament. Michael stretched out to grab the guns of the guards to yank away from them as he bounced against the ground. If he had managed it, he'd chuck the guns as far away as he could and immediately reach for the next set of guns. These guns in hand, he hurled them towards the last armed guards; more to it, he threw the guns at their guns. Best case scenario it would break all four, but Michael would settle for the chance of knocking the guns from their hands, or shocking them enough to allow him time to disarm them too.

With the guards disarmed and harming them as a last resort, Michael knew he needed to get the hostages out while the guards were without weapons. Michael inflated himself practically doubling in size as he stretched out his arms, grabbing the first two guards and coiling them back towards him. He shouted out in struggle as he attempted to pull them towards the other four attempting to ensnare all six into a inflated bear hug. Puffing himself up more, he looked to the hostages. "We're here to rescue you! Follow close and keep behind me!" Michael stated confidently.

He began moving with the six ensnared kidnappers in his arms as he led the hostages towards the exit. With everything falling apart, he worried his teammates were engaged in violence, but hoped that they were also safe. While he didn't want anyone harmed, he hoped that they would understand to just try to be merciful and cause as little damage as possible to both the criminals and themselves. Michael would try to keep the hostages with him so that he could protect them as needed as he tried to sneak them out of the warehouse as quickly and quietly as possible while Paragon and Lodestar ran distraction and interference.

TLDR: Michael slingshot himself at the 6 guards and attempted to stretch, disarm and toss away their weapons before trying to grab and wrap them into his arms in a coiled bear hug. Once secured, he'd guide the hostages out of the warehouse as he would attempt avoid any further conflict while his teammates ran interference and distration.

Their roles had been laid out perfectly. By virtue of their quirks, Emilia and her were distractions, while Michael saw to rescuing the hostages directly. Right now what that meant was she needed to make sure she took as much attention away from him as possible, letting her armor do what it did best as she focused on fighting in a way that aligned with her teammate's perspective. No excessive violence. While it might be a daring, or even failing strategy in the real world she made sure to uphold her end of it. In a way, it was an exercise for her too. Some criminals are much more frail than one might think, and while violence would work against them, some criminals are also not deserving of excessive amounts of it. Knowing and being able to control one's strength was paramount, especially for someone looking to become the next Paragon.

Trusting fully in both Lodestar and Mr. Inflatable, she couldn't help but become a little reckless, her aggressive altruism pushing her to make as much of a scene as possible to aid her allies at her own expense. It did not matter what happened to her as long as the civilians and her allies were saved. It was a glaring flaw in how she operated, but one she wasn't self-aware enough to fix.

''Lay down your arms and come quietly. If you don't then I cannot vouch for your safety, villains.'' The glow on her armor was dying down, but if all they had to fire at her was rubber bullets then she was almost invincible on her own.

TL;DR: Masao continues to run distraction, hoping it can help both Michael, the hostages and Emi escape safely.

Oh! There she was!

Between the glow both Emi and Masao emanated that bordered on too bright to look at directly and the grunts flying in all directions thanks to the gloves Kei made, the rest of the pretend criminals focused their attention on them, doing all they could to get rid the threats. Thing was though, the guards closest to the hostages were so distracted that they didn't account for one more party.

The one Kei was wholly unfamiliar with literally launched himself into the scene, growing large before wrapping himself around the entire crew. He assured the trapped actors that they were being rescued, and to follow him to safety, just as heroes should. Finally, Kei could see for himself just who this guy was and question if he was okay-

Except his red face was not caused by exertion. His face was just... red. Naturally. He didn't have a face at all in fact. Maybe he was wearing a mask? Now that Kei thought about it his actions did remind him of balloons, so the mask could be part of his branding.

But that didn't matter right now. Right now they were being rescued.

Kei used the pillar he lied against to slide up into a standing position before helping the others to do the same in the best way he could with his hands still tied up. He kept low otherwise, turning to the hero student leading them out with a furrow brow. A group following a guy hugging six grunts while sorta waddling to the exit was a strange sight to be sure but if it works it works. "Thank you," he whispered to the balloon man.

All in all, they were doing pretty well.

With that the situation had seemingly been resolved. The six guards closest to the hostages had been neutralized, others were flying through the air and Paragon proved impervious to the gunfire that was slowly dying down. While most of the hostages kept low as they followed behind Michael one stood tall and refrained from moving. With her chin raised Hebiru cast an expressionless towards him and his captives.

"How disappointing. Must I do everything myself?" She spoke coldly while letting her shackles drop. With one smooth move she cast off the hood and robe revealing the costume beneath.



"I, Scylla, shall not accept your victory. This is not yet over, heroes. Your time will come."

From beneath her wide dress a dozen arrow-tipped appendages pierced the ground and carried her up. Another curved upwards once she was half a dozen meters high and wrapped around a hook hanging from the roof framing with a few hand motions on Hebiru's part. With the screech of wheels on rail the hook began to move and carried her away to a different part of the compound.

With their leader gone the rest of the armed guards surrendered, throwing their weapons down one by one until not a single one of them still qualified to be called 'armed' guards. Someone was still needed to get the hostages to safety and another to watch over the captives but with their victory at least one member of Team C was free to begin pursuit.
