The sign-ups for the Sports Festival that ran through its duration allowed for one reprieve from Enma's volunteer work. He only had to work two days for his father, the rest was fair game and he intended on making his mark. Not through words, but through action. The part he looked forward to most: the combat exhibition. While they participated in their U.A.U. training uniforms, he wished that he could have customized the color a bit. Enma didn't like how colorful he looked with the red, white and blue that U.A.U. adopted. While they briefly told the participants of their opponent, it was mere moments before they would meet. To most, Enma might not seem impressive. Through raw training, he had grown to be incredibly physical and efficient. This was the time where he would let loose and apply it. For this competition, there was no mercy and no holding back. Taking his place in the arena, he limbered up as he anticipated facing 'Oniki'. As the announcers took their cue and he would ahead at the rather small build of the student, he offered no niceties or smiles. "HELSING VERSUS ONIKI. TWO LITTLE TITANS WHO PACK A PUNCH. LET'S SEE HOW THEIR TRAINING PAYS OFF! REMEMBER TO BE GOOD SPORTS, AND GOOD LUCK!"
Enma didn't draw his katana, standing with readiness to draw, he stared down his opponent. Would they exchange words? Would they just fight? As a simple warrior, he had a very basic demeanor and he wondered how Oniki would start the fight off. Yanai Yoko

A one on one match. Finally, a chance to prove herself against another student that was on the same level as her. Wait what, he was a second year? The anger inside Yoko came to a slow boil, making her appear much grumpier than her usual grumpy self as she walked into the ring, her armored umbrella, which looked like a kanabo when closed, resting on her shoulder. When the announcer had the audacity to call them little, Yoko spoke for the both of them as she slammed the tip of her umbrella into the ground and yelled at the top of her lungs. ''Who the hell are you calling little, you shithead?! Come in here and say that to my face!'' Their fight hadn't even begun and she was already picking other fights. Yoko was not good at first impressions. With a huff she directed her scowl at Enma as she turned to face her opponent. ''You're Helsing? You're short for a dude.'' She said bluntly. ''I'm not gonna sugarcoat it Helsing, I'm having a real bad day, so let's make this quick.'' In that moment she remembered what her much friendlier friend and fellow student Michael would do. Reluctantly she stepped forward and offered a handshake. ''Hey. if you embarrass yourself I go down with you. Just, don't worry and do your best or whatever. I'm used to being seen as a loser so I'll catch the flak for you.'' Whether he shook her hand or not she would walk back to her spot and ready herself. Once the match began, she would do what she did best. Fight with absolutely no plan whatsoever. Activating her quirk, Yoko's skin color turned blue as she grew tusks and her muscles grew exponentially. She possessed a troll transformation quirk, but unlike those mythological creatures she didn't actually grow any taller from using hers. She did, however, hit a lot harder. ''Show me your guts, Helsing!'' She roared as she charged forward, swinging her closed umbrella at his head. enma

This girl had quite the energy. She wasn't afraid, she wasn't promoting herself with any regality. This was someone Enma felt he could take serious, and this was one of the few times where everything aligned for him to go all out. With his rigorous training, tearing and rebuilding muscles across his body like he constructed Rome itself, he gladly accepted the opportunity. Out of courtesy, he accepted the handshake. "Forget about the people watching us. This is between you and me." As they took their positions and they called out to each other, Enma smirked briefly when his back was turned. She had guts to speak up against the riffing announcer. Oniki was crass and without manners, even making comments on Helsing's size, but she wasn't afraid of a fight. "I am Helsing. Monster hunter, demon slayer, journeyman of the art."Poetic, Enma wanted to leave a lasting impression for those watching. It was as much as he could muster socially, with one factor surprising him. It felt good to engage in this exhibition. He wouldn't want to be watched all the time, but there was a shocking amount of bravado and zealousness. As Oniki transformed, a look came across Enma's face. Pressing his feat firmly into the concrete, heavy fractures would spider across its surface. As a crimson aura akin to his eyes would engulf Raiju, he kept the blade sheathed and stared at the little, blue oni. As the umbrella would recklessly come down for his head, Enma would deftly rotate and move to her side. Before the umbrella would collide with the ground and show the monster's strength, Enma would try to show his own by thrusting the hilt of Raiju into her side with all of his might. In hopes of fracturing a rib or two or even damaging her with a kidney shot, he wanted to whittle down her stamina. She wanted it quick, he wanted to see her struggle out of spite. "Show me your might, Oniki!" Roaring back, the battle spirit erupted from Enma figuratively and even literally. As an extension of his quirk, curling crimson roll off Helsing's wing-span. Regardless if he hit or not, he would slam Raiju shut and take three steady steps back in quick succession like a hunkered-down samurai. Yanai Yoko

Huh, this guy was pretty serious himself. Not the overly chatty type either which she preferred at present. Too many students tried to lecture her about how her behavior was wrong. How she was rude or how she swore too much. ''Oniki,'' she returned after he had introduced himself. ''I like my cat, sleeping in and getting drunk on the weekends.'' Monster hunter and demon slayer, huh? He must be a busy guy. ''What kinda art, do you draw?'' It was a throwaway question and she really didn't think he would answer it, she just couldn't help but ask it. Mainly because she didn't understand what journeyman of the art even meant. He was a year ahead of her, but he didn't seem to look down on her for being his junior. She could appreciate that after having faced other students that 'held back' or didn't view her as worthy of their full strength. If she sensed that this guy was holding back at any point she was probably going to shout at him, but she had a feeling she wasn't the only one here who had something to prove. ''Demon slayer? You're lucky I'm your opponent.'' She pointed at him, putting her umbrella kanabo up to rest over her shoulder. Even though it was brief, she immediately took note of the crimson aura as her brain tried to process and comprehend what he was doing. An emitter type quirk? He sure as hell wasn't using transformation like her unless it was subtle. When she brought her umbrella down she wasn't exactly expecting to bonk him so early, but she was surprised at the speed at which he was moving, since she wasn't exactly slow herself. Her eyes widened as she saw the thrust coming her way. She couldn't dodge it in time, but she could do something else. Engaging the mechanism of her umbrella, what until now had looked like a kanabo club suddenly opened up like an armored umbrella and parried Enma's sword thrust like an impromptu shield, the sheer strength of the blows being exchanged sending her sliding backwards a couple of feet. Taking a breath she twirled the umbrella around before closing it again, turning it back into a club. ''What do you think I'm doing. you shithead samurai?!'' She roared back, charging right at him. It became increasingly apparent that Yoko wasn't the type to do complicated strategy or planning out how to counter her opponent. Even her technique as she swung at Enma, this time swinging the closed umbrella one-handed in an attempt to hit his left side while leaving her other free to throw a jab at him if he came to close, was entirely unorthodox. It was safe to say that in the way of training, Yoko hadn't really studied how to wield a weapon like Enma or Masao, but rather relied entirely on her brute strength to carry her through. ''What's your quirk, Helsing? You keeping it secret from me?! You better not be holding back!''enma

This person was a loud-mouth for certain. Undisciplined, rowdy. She must have not been taught to have much respect for her surroundings, but she did say she was used to being seen as a loser. Maybe she was given every reason to rebel, but never the true learning that it took to be reserved. That's where they contrasted, and it showed. "I'm not a social butterfly, I'm sorry." If she was strong, he would have to weigh the options of a likely unbearable person versus a sturdy opponent to test himself against. As she deflected his blow with her armored umbrella and slid back, there would be a sense of satisfaction. He REALLY didn't have to hold back. It was no offense to those he would train with, in classes or out, but he was often alone when he could let loose. It was hard, because he trained hard and needed to let out all of the built up potential. Her appearance would enhance the poetry of their match up, the crimson aura blazing off of Raiju. The umbrella returned to its club form, going for his side. Deciding between blocking or dodging, Enma would jump and stomp down on the umbrella to hopefully pin it into the ground. With enough force, he would try to dig it through the arena floor. Since he didn't have long to balance in this position, he would thrust the hilt of Raiju once more, aiming for Oniki's throat. This was a lighter attack, as he would hop back in the same motion. Once he did, he would close the distance. Feinting with a half-drawn Raiju, he would try to speed past Oniki in an attempt to slash the back of the demon girl's knees. If she was able to turn into such a monster, of course she could heal! Now the brutal Helsing could put to test all the theory of how to wear down such a monster. If Dracula couldn't be defeated so simply, neither could those that could transform into such chaotic beings. Their strength matched, their speed was negligibly different. That umbrella was durable, so he needed to whittle her down before making her concede. Enma would engage this plan without mercy. "I won't hold back, but I needn't tell you my quirk. Just know..." The idea of him not holding back wasn't as simple as cartoonish superhero punches or a battle of explosive powers beyond the residual effects of their might. It was worse than that. "...I am not a kind fighter." Was Masao watching? Would she frown on his methods? In a way, it made doubt enter his heart. A darker force drowned it out, making Oniki his prey. Yanai Yoko

''Suit yourself.'' She gave a casual shrug. ''I prefer it that way too.'' Too many damn extroverts at this school talking their heads off and she had about had it with being lectured about how to be a good hero, or how her behavior was problematic. This guy wanted to fight? Great. That's why they were here anyway. Turned out this guy wasn't bluffing either. He was fast, strong, would she be able to win this? At a glance, all she could think was that in a contest of brawn it would be a close match, but maybe if she managed to hit him with her supermove. He didn't know about it since he didn't know her, right? It was worth a shot, but with how fast this demonslaying bastard was zipping around it was going to be impossible to find her moment to strike. And just when she thought she had it, he went and got her umbrella stuck with his jump. What a pain in the neck, but this was where he committed his first mistake, assuming she was attached to her weapon and needed it to fight like some kind of specialized fighter. Turning around on the spot, she raised a fist and prepared to grab him, but before she could reach him she felt the light jab against her throat. It wasn't hard, but it still shocked her and it was a sensitive area. Grasping her throat as she gasped and coughed for air she winced when he cut the back of her knees too, causing her to fall over. Shit, he was too fast, way too fast. She was still recovering, but rolled onto her back and looked up at him with a spiteful gaze as he started talking. ''Bullshit.'' She hissed in a defiant tone, pushing herself back up, wiping the sweat from her brow as she stared him down. ''I don't give a shit about kind!'' Grabbing her umbrella and yanking it loose with one arm, she took aim, aiming the tip at Enma as she called out.' ''Gunbrella, fire!!''With a click of the umbrella's mechanism she opened it. It was a bluff. Yoko owned two umbrellas, the armored one and the gunbrella. However, she had only brought the armored one into the arena. Even so, if this made him hesitate for a second because he thought he might get shot, that was all she needed. Rather than shoot at him however, she instead charged forward under the cover of the umbrella, only dropping it at the last second to try and take a swing at his face, hoping she could get past his annoying sword. enma

The battle was heated just how Enma wanted. Oniki wasn't hesitant to fight, she just did it. There was a respect, even if 'respect' wasn't the word in either of their heads. Both were fighters and didn't want to waste precious breath on words. They weren't friends, especially not during this match. No, for however long the match would go, Oniki was a demon to be slain and Enma was Helsing. She would see the excitement and fury in those crimson eyes and he would see the reckless beast before him. Seeing her fall over from his slicing of the back of her knees, he hoped that it would limit her mobility. His maneuver of stunning her with a throat-jab using Raiju set it up perfectly. For now, the war of attrition would be in his favor. Their strength was similar, their speed was similar, but his maneuvers were uniform whereas she attacked with crude strategies. The winner would be determined by the one who knew what to do and when to do it. For now, Oniki didn't know what to do about his meticulous attacks. She would attempt a surprising tactic in the form of bluffing that her umbrella weapon could fire. Not perceiving a barrel, Enma only assumed that the tip launched, which meant he needed to move only slightly forward. As the umbrella opened and closed to reveal an incoming fist, Enma couldn't help but take the blow. It was hard, rocking his jaw and waking the beast within. Recovering without hesitation but feeling the mighty pain of this mighty Oniki's punch, he would scoff. "Cheap distraction, Oniki." Going to grab her wrist, he knew that their matching strength would make this close quarters combat much easier for him while she wielded the umbrella in the other hand. If she didn't stop him, he would jab the hilt of Raiju into her chest three times, each aimed for the solar plexus. A tirade of debilitating blows that would hopefully weaken her further. Could she take it? Enma knew better than to think that punching her face a few times would take her out. No, he needed to weaken her stance, drain her stamina, break her form. If she couldn't stand like a warrior, then she couldn't stand to him. Yanai Yoko

She felt great when her bluff worked out and she actually landed a hit on him. This arrogant bastard, thinking he was all that just because he had trained longer and was a second year. She might not be strong enough to beat him, but she was going to go down clawing and screaming until she had no more energy left. Panting, she took a moment to catch her breath which turned out to be a mistake since her punch didn't rock him nearly as hard as she had hoped it would. ''Yeah? Doesn't matter if it's cheap so long as it works!'' She grinned back defiantly. She wasn't about to be all about being proper and following honor and stuff like this guy presumably was with his background. When he tried to jab her with the hilt of his sword she clumsily deflected it and tried to hit him back, although it became clear very quickly that she wasn't as skilled in close quarters combat as he was. Curse her lack of technical fighting knowledge! Although she tried to deflect every jab, some of them got her and made her damn near lose her balance as she gasped for air. Letting out a cough she glared back at him. ''Fuck you.'' She grinned, very clearly still enjoying the fight even though they weren't exactly looking like friends in this moment. A small, dark rain cloud started forming over Yoko's head as she prepared her super move. It was becoming clear to her that the only way she could beat Enma was by catching him by surprise again. ''Sure you wanna keep holding onto me, Helsing? You're gonna hate what happens next.'' Reversing her transformation a bit, Yoko made sure it only applied to her hands as she dropped her umbrella and grabbed the cloud over her head. In turn, with her other hand, she grabbed his wrist back so he couldn't run. The moment she pointed the cloud at him it started growing darker and darker, sparking with electricity as she prepared to shoot him with a bolt of lightning. ''Out of the Blue!'' She shouted the name of her super move, but the bolt of lightning fizzled out before it could leave the cloud and just like that, the cloud disappeared. Her super move had failed and as the drawbacks kicked in, Yoko fell to her knees exhausted. ''...Shit.''Had she used up too much energy fighting him? Should she have used her move sooner and risked the chance of missing her target? enma

[attr="class","body"] Oniki was a very undisciplined fighter. What she lacked in hardened skill, she made up for in brutish warrior spirit. It wasn't always a good thing to be like that, but there was something to find in the wild, unkempt fire of someone who fought with such zeal and rage. Still, it meant that there wasn't a moment where Enma was afraid of her. He respected that with a little honing, maybe she'd pummel him down. As the demon she was now, that simply wouldn't happen. Today, he would defeat Oniki. Where there was cheap tactics that were only rewarding in the short-run of a combatant's experience, there were refined exploitations of vulnerabilities that a seasoned tactician could make use of on anyone. Long-term gains came from discipline, volatility came from raw power. As he stunned her momentarily, she let out a curse that didn't make him any less cold and calculated. The crowd roared at the very physical battle, a tight match with precision and good back-and-forth. As Oniki threatened him with something unknown and awful, Enma felt that maybe for a moment the tables would turn. A rain cloud would summon, coinciding with the nimbus way above that darkened their match. Drawing the rain cloud into her hand, Enma saw the display of a devil's magic. With frail and fizzled-out gusto, Oniki was completely exposed. "I've never been more sure." As she fell to her knees, spent by her quirk, he had to decide what kind of end the match would have. Crouching low, he tried to meet her eyes. "You're strong, Oniki." Thrusting the hilt of Raiju into her, he pushed with so much force that the exhausted oni would go rolling out of the ring. Knowing she could take it, he did it almost as quickly as her knees touched the ground. Enma didn't want her to show the crowd that she was simply tired, that would be weakness. Still, he needed her to feel his might. As the announcer called the match, Enma bowed towards her. "Strength isn't everything." Walking away, he felt triumphant as he won his match in reliance on his tactical mind instead of brute force. Might could go far, but Certainty can go much further.
