Tokyo, as the nation's capital, was as busy as always. Days seemed to pass by in minutes, and hours seemed to pass by in seconds. However, life passing by quickly wasn't Hyousuke's concern at that point in time. Instead, it was a person passing by quickly - some shifty-looking fellow holding a woman's bag under his arm, more specifically, with the strap broken off. With how quickly he was running, and with the state the bag was in, it could be inferred that he was a thief. The most damning piece of evidence, however, was likely the woman running behind him, shouting that he was a thief and for someone to catch him.

Hyousuke didn't have to think twice about what needed to be done. The second he recognised what was going on, he was off like a shot, his feet pounding the pavement as he ducked, weaved, and slipped through the throngs of people still trying to figure out what had happened. He didn't much like shoving people aside, nor vaulting off and over various pieces of public furniture - but he couldn't waste a moment. If he so much as blinked, it ran the risk of them disappearing into the crowd, and he doubted that the police or heroes would waste their time pursuing a single purse snatcher.

But, even with his boundless stamina, catching them was more difficult than he'd thought. They must've had some kind of agility-enhancing Quirk, because for every step that Hyousuke took, they seemed to be two ahead, and evaded both obstacles and well-intentioned civilians trying to stop them with remarkable ease. Nevertheless, he pursued. Costume or not, he was supposed to be a hero.

The patrol is the daily obligation of a hero. Some may work the convenience store check out, as a server in a restaurant, on a manufacturing line in a factory, but heroes patrolled the city and remained vigilant against the horrors waiting to be unleashed upon the citizenry. It is a daunting task, a truly honorable one, too.

Aerian Verdi, hero name: Deidran, was busy counting out coins to pay for a snack as if she was down to just the last bit of pocket change. However, she had just enough to get the box of strawberry pocky and that was all that mattered. With her snack acquired, she could continue on her patrol.

With a contented sigh and a bright smile, Deidran stepped out of the store and onto the sidewalk. Such a lovely day. Perfect for being out and about on the streets. She took a deep breath, and then nearly lost her box of pocky when some upstart sprinted past.

But, he wasn't the only one. Someone else was chasing him! What was this!? A thief on her watch? Deidran bit off a chunk of the pocky and stuffed the box into one of her pockets before she joined the chase.

"Out of the way! Out of the waaaay!" Deidran shouted as she struggled to catch the thief. She wasn't much faster than Hyousuke, but she was gaining on him.

Hyousuke was like a predator chasing down its target, his eyes fixed firmly forward and on the bag-toting thief trying to give him the slip. He barrelled forward, demanding that they stop, only once glancing backwards - and even then, it was only because he heard footsteps faster than his own. He didn't recognise who they belonged to, however. A hero, if the costume was any indication, but beyond that? He didn't have a clue. Nevertheless, he wasn't inclined to stop and let them handle it, no matter how well-equipped they may or may not have been for the chase. He was close to the thief, and just needed that little extra burst to get them.

But, as before, he was just that little bit slower. He was losing ground to them - but the hero didn't seem to have that problem. It wasn't long before they'd overtaken him, and it wasn't that far to go for the thief either. Even so, despite his confidence things would end with them cuffed and turned over to the authorities, his feet never stopped hitting the pavement. He wouldn't be much of a hero if he just let the chase end there, after all.

Deidran catches the thief and apprehends him for the authorities.

Deidran overtook Hyousuke, and soon enough, she had caught up to the suspicious purse-snatching perpetrator. She gave him an opportunity to surrender himself peacefully, but the thief doubled down and tried to sprint even faster, but it was too late. Deidran was too close.

She took hold of him and applied a simple takedown maneuver learned at UA that didn't deliver too much pain or discomfort to the perp, but still kept him locked down.

With him secured, she plucked her phone from a pocket and began calling the authorities to let them know she had someone for them. In the meantime, she looked to Hyousuke who had undoubtedly caught up, and then nodded towards the purse the thief had stolen.

"Why don't you return that to its owner, yeah?"

She bestowed a bright smile upon Hyousuke. She may have been the one to catch him, but she hadn't seen who he stole the purse from. Hyousuke probably did.

While he returns the purse, Deidran started speaking to dispatch about sending someone to pick up their suspect.

Hyousuke didn't need to be told twice. The very second that the bag was handed back to him, he took off to find its owner - and, as luck had it, he didn't even need to look far. Whether by luck or by fate, two officers passing by had been the ones that the woman herself had reported the crime to, and they were able to direct him back to her... while making sure that he himself didn't take off with it. They hardly suspected that a UA student would commit so brazen a crime in broad daylight, but it never hurt to make sure.

As they suspected, the purse was returned without incident, but Hyousuke didn't stick around to receive any thanks or praise - or even to give a statement to the police. So caught up in the excitement of the situation was he, that his one-track mind could only focus on returning to the pro that had closed the deal, and he was back with her before anyone could so much as blink.

"Thanks for the assist!" He said, the second he got back. Despite having run back and forth like a sprinter, he didn't seem to have so much as broken a sweat. In fact, the only sign he had been running seemed to be his clothes and hair being slightly messed. "I couldn't have gotten them without you!"

Suspect apprehended! But, now what?!

Deidran watched for a moment as the exuberant and enthusiastic young man ran off with the purse, then turned back to the suspect and made sure that he wasn't going anywhere before the police showed up to take him away.

By the time Hyousuke returned, the cops had shown up and were taking the thief away. Deidran was standing nearby, finishing up her report and twirling a stick of pocky between her fingers. With that done, she was free to leave, but leaving was not on the schedule - at least, not yet.

The fellow that had alerted her to the thief returned. Deidran held up a hand like she was waving off his praise. "Think nothing of it!"

"You did an awesome job of keeping up! There's no way that punk was going to get away with you on the job," Deidran practically lit up. "Unlike you, he didn't have that ultra stamina. You amazingly haven't even been a bit winded, but he was puffing like my grandma going up the stairs."

Deidran paused for a moment and gave Hyousuke a bit of a critical look. "I like to think I know all the mega talented pros in the business, at least in this area, but as totally stellar as your performance was, I don't think I know you."
