Straightforward is the best way to sum up Sumi. Sumi was born with a silver spoon in her mouth. Her family ran one of the largest international conglomerates for Biotechnology research called Tiamat. It had been several generations since it was created originally a small business operating out of Kyushu near the coast. Founded in 2015 by Sumi’s great-grandmother its original focus was the manufacturing of drugs for rare conditions. Still, over the years the company expanded rapidly with the onset of quirks pushing them even further to expand into the empire they are today. Her upbringing in the family behind one of the most successful companies for all of Tiamat's biotechnology research resulted in her having more freedom than expected, especially given that she showed an interest in the sciences at a very young age. It was a match made for everyone involved.

Sumi’s life was filled with typical rich girl things. She spent more of her childhood to adolescence studying to take over the business and had an incredible knack for the scientific side. She got to experience the luxuries of world travel and when she turned 18 she even had her black card since she was an adult. She also can change the density of the smoke produced at will. This allows her to surround her targets with his intangible smoke and solidify it to grasp them or even stand on the smoke as if it were solid ground.

She is also immune to the effects of inhaling smoke whether it be her own or otherwise.

Sumi was born with a silver spoon in her mouth. Her family ran one of the largest international conglomerates for Biotechnology research called Tiamat. It had been several generations since it was created, originally a small business operating out of Kyushu near the coast. Founded in 2015 by Sumi’s great-grandmother, its original focus was the manufacturing of drugs for rare conditions. Still, over the years, the company expanded rapidly with the onset of quirks, pushing them even further to grow into the empire they are today. Her upbringing in the family behind one of the most successful companies for all of Tiamat's biotechnology research resulted in her having more freedom than expected, especially given that she showed an interest in the sciences at a very young age. It was a match made for everyone involved.

Sumi’s life was filled with typical rich girl things. She spent more of her childhood to adolescence studying to take over the business and had an incredible knack for the scientific side. She got to experience the luxuries of world travel, and when she turned 18, she even had her black card since she was an adult. Her desire to attend UAU was something she wanted to do before she would need to step up and take over for her parents once they retired. Besides, Hero Licenses never expired, and if she ever got tired of that life, she could be a full-time hero instead!

Her body has an extra lung that funnels any cigarette smoke, magnifies it, and then she can expel it through her mouth or nose. The ratio of required smoke intake before using her quirk is 1:9, as in she can create nine times the amount of smoke that she takes in at once.

Once the smoke leaves her mouth, she can manipulate it in any way she sees fit through hand movements. She can alter the acridity of the smoke itself from pure white, which is virtually harmless to inhale, to pitch black, which causes coughing fits, is dangerous to inhale, and causes a debuff of -1 to Vitality per 3 ranks of the Quirk (capping at -5 maximum to the debuff)

She also can change the density of the smoke produced at will. This allows her to surround her targets with his intangible smoke and solidify it to grasp them or even stand on the smoke as if it were solid ground.

She is also immune to the effects of inhaling smoke, whether it be her own or otherwise.


[b]QUIRK DRAWBACKS:[/b] Without a source of smoke to create/inhale Sumi is effectively quirkless.

High winds are a problem for Sumi as smoke can easily be blown away when subject to wind.

Also, she cannot create smoke when submerged in liquid because smoke is gas.
