The anxiety caused by Blaze’s attitude combined with his own would only increase when this guy took his pad of paper and wrote his phone letter. It was getting more risky by the second. The worse case scenario at this point was that David would be full heartedly convinced Rayder was cheating on him at this point. He had to think of something as the other man handed him the phone number, the giant pulling his phone out slowly and nervously typing it in and beginning communication through this. It was still risky since his number was still his American phone number, making it easily stick out.
“Alright. But you better NOT lose your phone. My number is fairly unique and there will be massive trouble if I’m found out. I will need to figure out how to do that phone blocking. Also, we will need to create an alibi for this partnership. I don’t really communicate with others outside of my husband’s friend group, so it’ll be strange for me to interact with someone. So our first meeting will be about that and somewhere hidden or visited very rarely.” The man then seemed to be looking on his phone searching for something before he finally messaged the other vigilante once again, this time sending a link that taught sign language. “Something else you WILL learn. I’m not wasting anymore paper on communicating with you and messages could be risky in high frequencies, especially when working together. I will also be deleting our text history each time to clear my phone. I will need instructions on” His messages clearly were fill statements, him not even leaving any of this to be questioned or argued. His life as he knew it was on the line now, not to mention the safety of his husband and child were being risked… but if this worked out they and others in this city would be safer than ever.
“You’re really pushing the damn line, Stringbean! I’m just gonna sit and watch when you ass is caught!” Blaze scolded, Rayder glancing at him, seeing his arms crossed and an angry look that was usually not directed at him. The urge to flip off the unremovable visitor in Rayder’s mind had to be suppressed during this business.
“We have to be very careful. Maybe in time we will exchange real names, but nothing that specific can be shared right now.” Hitting the button on his helmet, he straightened himself up before going to his phone. “Our next meeting, bring any resources you use. If that includes people, then discuss it with me before I meet them. And for God's sake, PLEASE actually look at the sign language page. It's a pain in the ass typing and writing just to tell you anything." Glancing down, he saw the cultists still either groaning in pain or knocked out. Time to leave his work to be discovered.
"Get that wound cleaned out. From now on, avoid hospitals and non-private doctors. The best thing is to learn to tend your own wounds since any mark seen can be linked back. I'll be deleting this all in a few minutes. Screenshot the instructions and message sparingly. Until we meet again." With that, Rayder put his phone away and ran to the edge of the building, jumping to the next and silently leaving the other man behind. Finally, alone again. As he got further he finally acknowledged the angered and pouting Blaze.
"Andrew! For god's SAKE! Stop acting like a baby and acting like I don't know what I'm doing!"
"Then if this fails, I will be dead along with you. Then I might be stuck in your dead mind!" If Rayder could groan, he would be loudly doing so, him getting irritated by Blaze... but he did have a major point about this, but the man accepted the dangers.
"I promise, Andrew, I will do what it takes to not die. Right now, he is an asset. I'm not aiming to take a bullet for him right now."
"Then you better keep it to never taking a bullet for that ass. And trust me, throughout your little 'partnership', I'm not gonna stop with you until you come to your senses. I promise you that!" Finally, Blaze left Rayder be as the giant man disappeared into the darkness of night to return to his unassuming life.
