When one’s job is to infiltrate a school in order to prove a product, making friends isn’t the first thing on your mind. Heck, it never even made the list if Robin was honest with herself. She had no need for friends in the school or back on base as she had 46 other squadmates that she had known her entire life if she needed company. She had no idea who these people really were having known them for less than a few weeks. Then again human interaction never really was in her skill set. No, she preferred to get up close to them, through the scope of a high-powered sniper rifle, preferably from the next town over. This felt antithetical to who she really was. Was that the test? To throw in someone who was so obviously the wrong choice and see if they can sink or swim? Even if it was the case, it wouldn’t do her good to start questioning orders. She had a job to do, and unfortunately for her befriending these four students had become part of it. But for all her whining about these four, why did her instincts scream at her that she already knew them? A shrug was offered in the speedsters direction, “At least they own the title. More than could be said for the last MC of the pity parade.” “Pretty sure they’re dead now.” “You’ll be fine though.” “Ah fuck yeah, store brand cola.” She grabbed the cup and pulled a sip from it as her mind throttled any idea of familiarity. She didn’t know them, and didn’t want to. Besides, she was the monster in the story books anyway. Funny how close they could get under the guise of higher education. “Oh, uh, yeah. Name’s Robin.” she wiped the store-brand beverage from her face as she finally formally introduced herself. As much as she enjoyed the nickname she had gotten in the exams, she couldn’t always be tasked with wearing her helmet. Well… she totally could, but that's besides the point. “Nah, never really needed that stuff. Not gonna use it though, probably can sell it to some students for some quick cash though.” her response to Thea’s first statement, Her arm reaching around for her rifle being the answer to her second. Most people wouldn’t see field stripping their rifle as entertaining, but Robin wasn’t people. If no one would interject, she intended to throw the firearm onto the table and start to break down the weapon. She hadn’t cleaned it since yesterday anyway, might as well start now. Orders were handed out and followed, the exam had begun in earnest. The street they were going to be working through was a mess, made all the more difficult by the thick layer of dust hanging in the air. While normal eyes wouldn’t be able to go very far, enhanced vision suites would allow Robin to keep her long lines of sight open. She could’ve quickly established a Kill-Field around her fellow teammates, picking off any robots who would approach them. The idea of working with Quirked individuals simmered in her mind, a quiet growing anger that was prevented only from their apparent reliance on the bird. Both of the student prospects had placed their lot in her basket that she would carry them to the finish line, and if that’s what it took to get into UAU then she would drag them out of hell. Her mission was the priority and she wasn’t about to let children stop her. Her rifle coughed twice more, another robot fell unceremoniously as its Central Processing Hub was removed from its shell. The bullets penetrated through into some concrete, the lead never again going to see the light of day. Before she could pull the trigger on another robot, a blob of color entered her scope as a hostage ran through her line of fire. Her finger slipped from the trigger and back out of the well as she watched the person run up to her, a smirk barely hidden on their face. A grim smirk spread across her face, for being so smug they didn’t actually know how close to dying they were. Robin looked at her teammates who were directing traffic her way. A smart move, barring the fact that they were going to tempt fate by crossing the street. The scowl turned to a grimace as she peered over her shoulder toward the exit. She had to do everything, didn’t she? She pulled a hand from the grip and pulled out several flares from her rig. The lid popped off and the flare ripped to life as it hit the ground. The second one was thrown towards the entrance and what could only be the exit for the hostages. “Please follow the flares, proceed to the exit.” her voice didn’t exude confidence, more like irritation. It made sense for her to direct traffic, but every second she wasn’t keeping overwatch on the other two was another second they could find themselves in trouble. Not that she particularly cared… at least, not about the boy. Her head whipped back around to catch Freja brutalizing a robot with her bat and Akagi returning a monster punch to another. A nod was all she gave them as she brought her rifle back up, taking a few shots at robots in poor positioning. This was going… too well. Wasn’t there that whole bot with negative gravity they should’ve been worrying about? Freja Helt reijiro akagi Fuyuko

“Well, you know how baby birds get pushed from their nests?”The truth was she was literally a natural in the air. Sure, it had taken time to develop the muscle memory required to control her flight with each feather being its own tiny rudder in the air. But from as far back as her memory could allow, she had always been airborne… except all the times she had fallen early on of course. Memories flashed through her mind, the sounds of impact and the snap of bone. She had broken a lot of bones. Nothing builds confidence quite like deterrence however, and you tend to get pretty good at things if failure means several minutes with a shattered femur. “...let’s just say my parents were very excited for me to get flying and find a hobby.” She finally shrugged after spending a moment lost in her thoughts. “And pain was an excellent motivator after all. You tend to perform better if the alternative is writhing on the ground.” “Well, contrary to popular belief, flying does not provide a stable firing position. Sorry to be the one to break the news.” Part of her wondered if she should fabricate a reason for the drone. Surely there was no harm in actually telling Farrin a reason, just not The reason with a capital T. Not yet at least, besides, everyone here would find out in time. “So, to cover my bases, enter… this? Should really come up with a name for you…oh well, not important. So like, while I’m doing whatever, or I simply can’t be assed, it can be in the sky for me giving me live updates about the surrounding area. Much more reliable than a satellite image, at least, that’s the idea behind it.” “Not everyone can be everywhere, but with this I can at least be in two places, ya know?”
“At the end of the day, it’s solid intel that wins wars. Not boots on the ground.” Her mouth recited those words in an almost robotic trance. Each letter had been drilled into her ever since she could fly. And for just a moment, she felt homesick. Farrin

An exasperated sigh ripped from her as Zen insisted on actually following through with some non-lethal option. Objectively, they were just right. Robin should at the very least pretend she cares about her outward appearance. If she was going to be a hero it wouldn’t all be fighting robots. She would at least need to pretend that she intended to take people alive. Would she be able to fit a pepperball gun onto her drone? Probably not, there was already enough tech on it as it stood. No need to make it an even more obvious target. “What, you mean people wouldn’t like it if i maimed a criminal? They weren’t gonna use it for anything good anyway, I might as well take their leg.” She paused to really let Zen sit with the thought of her blowing someone’s leg off. “Fuck, yeah, whatever you say.” She pouted, “obviously you’re right. Whatever, It should be easy enough to make. Again, the hard part is just picking a payload, but who says I can’t have them all. There’s this on shotgun with a rotating magazine… thing, in case you need to swap loads without dropping your magazine.” The shotgun in question was a little long for her taste, and since it was tube fed, cutting down the length would mean cutting the magazine capacity…. But it would be hard to argue against the benefit of carrying 12 gauge shells. Buckshot, slugs, beanbag, maybe even something else. It had 4 separate magazine slots, she had choices. “I mean, sure. Being able to fly is neat. Really don’t know how the world looks until you see it from a bird's-eye perspective.” She shrugged before placing her wrist next to the edge of the table, “That is, you know, if you figure that all my bones are hollow and just waiting to be broken.” A soft thud reverberated the table as a sharp pain ran up her arm, all the while never breaking eye contact with Zen. She didn’t need to look after all, this wasn’t the first time she broke her wrist and it wouldn’t be the last. “No, but like, are you naturally that big or is it like, steroids? I gotta know.”Zenkai Hatake

The class drew silent as Thea spoke. Half seemingly impressed with her ability to identify an unknown location, the other half perturbed by her very nature. It was uncanny, the precision she seemed to be able to hone the trolly down to. Out past the Food Donkey, out only half a mile. Robin blinked at her, choosing not to speak upon her doubt for the young woman. Thea was a lot of things, but she had a habit of being right more times than not. If she was confident, then it was unwise to question your intel. “Ok, Seems close enough.” She shrugged, “The only question is how is little ole me going to derail an entire trolley? It's a trick question, I'm going to use high explosives.” she dug in her bag a moment before fishing out a few supplies. She produces a small length of det-cord, an electric ignition source, and a brick of C-4. Her hands worked as she walked out, much to the relief of the class who were now very much aware that the bird carried plastic explosives with her to her classes. It wasn’t like she didn’t know what she was doing, and C-4 was actually incredibly stable as far as explosives went. Her boots clomped down the tiled hallways as she jogged her way to an exit. She wasn’t sure on the specifics of how much time she had before the people trapped in front of the trolley became past tense. She was seemingly chosen based on her activity level for the class, but perhaps it was simply that she was one of the only students who could even make it to the site in time. The teacher seemed more clever than she let on, or at least that’s how she wanted to be perceived, she Robin couldn’t put it past her. She kicked the door open and took to the skies, her hands still fiddling with her “Instant Derailment Kit”. She clipped the cord into the ignitor, and wrapped the rest around the brick of plastic explosives. It was admittedly really sloppy and certainly nothing to be proud of, but it would remove the trolley from the equation in an instant, it was in the name afterall. Explosives underarm, she dug a small headset out her bag and slipped it over her ears between wingbeats. “So, how long till those people aren’t anymore?” Hopefully Thea would actually answer her phone… Hopefully Thea had her phone on her. This was a lot of pressure to put her under. Thea

“Oh hey, nice of you to drop in.” She spoke without breaking her attention from the task at hand. It wasn’t unusual for the Irishman to fall like this, honestly speaking he’s probably fallen more times than the bird. Memories came to mind of many bruises and injuries sustained while learning to fly. She was pretty sure she had even broken a limb, although it wasn’t like it would’ve been an issue for long for her. Pain was distinctly seared into her memories though, the only reminder of her past failures. Of course, it all helped her to be the bird she was today. Good with the bad, she supposed. “Me, Oh, I’m just playing with a new toy.” she stated plainly, her hand tapping the attache case. “Just normal, boring stuff really. Though, what was that? Coming in on my turf?” she would smirk from under her helmet for purely her own benefit. Maybe deep down she did feel territorial about the air. It was her space, she was the one with the wings and the hollow bones and the low red blood cell count. It didn’t seem fair that someone with a quirk like Farrin’s would be able to also walk on thin air. He never had to go through the pain of breaking a limb from bumping into a counter, and don’t even get her started on stubbing her toe. As she would listen to Farrin speak she would stoop down and unclasp the case at her feet and from it she pulled a small quadcopter styled drone. It was wholly unassuming, but it was just a prototype at the end of the day. She tapped the power button once and after a short delay received a confirmation in her helmet that the devices were talking. A new screen popped up in the corner of her vision displaying what the drone’s camera saw. Of course, this was just her and Farrin… for now. She looked back at the Time Turner, “Isn’t it cute?” A genuine smile forming across her face. Farrin

The breeze hung still in the air as people made their way around town. Up and down the street like busy little ants, each on a task. Whether that was for fun or work it was up to the individual, but it didn’t truly matter. Today was as near perfect as it could be. The sun was bright up on high, like a glorious incandescent father. Even Tokyo itself was in high spirits with a local event bringing in a large population from other districts. The large volume of separate humans all enjoying their day, each uniquely unaware that death was on wing. Her rifle coughed once and he fell. The round caught him in the chest, the bullet striking him right through the heart. He would be dead before he even hit the ground. Robin wasn’t even sure why he was marked for death, only that he was simply the target. Someone had paid for his death, and her skillset was needed to end his life. She sucked another pull from her juice box and watched her handiwork for a greedy moment. There was no doubt the street would’ve been locked down, the police involved, maybe even a news story about how gun crime is on the way up. This could be what the client even wanted, people to be afraid. It didn’t matter to Robin. Her job was done and she should be getting lost. She made quick work of her nest, which had consisted only of a tarp and a nearby pipe. Her rifle was also broken down equally swiftly, each piece finding its way into a backpack. And bam, once a killer, now just a student on a day off! Now she just needed to not be where she was. Her eyes scanned an adjacent street opposite of the one with the body. The people were generally heading away from her, towards the sports… stadium? In the crowd, to her surprise, was a shock of black hair that could only belong to a single person. Farrin O’Rourk. A mischievous smile broke across her face. He was one of the goodest boys, so much so that anyone near him wouldn’t be under much scrutiny. Robin took a step off the building, her wings opening just enough to catch the air and glide her down to the boys' side. “Oh, heeey, fancy seeing you in a place like this!” She smirked, “So… sports, amiright?”Farrin Zenkai Hatake Leo Springs Thea

Eyes rolled from under the helmet that had quickly become her identity, these kids didn’t know how to take no for an answer. They had practically begged her to stay, to work together in order to ensure they could pass this exam, to ensure they were able to attend this school. It made Helmet’s stomach turn, how desperate were these two? To what end were they willing to delve in order to pass this exam, In order to become a problem on the grand scale of this country? The world needed less Heroes, and it needed them to work together like she needed a bullet in her head. Before they could resort to groveling, various warnings flashed through her vision. Radio waves commonly associated with the detonation of explosives were picked up, and a full second later the world shattered around them. Glass was sent flying as debris crumbled to the ground of the once proud building, only to be ripped back upward in defiance to gravity. Helmet’s expression turned somber. She knew it was a test, but she couldn’t shake the feeling that these incidents would happen far too often with so many heroes running around. While her two “Partners” spoke amongst themselves about a plan of action, she would survey the scene. The helmet flipped between various filters, each more illuminating than the last. There were dozens of heat signatures that resembled civilians, and a dozen more that didn’t quite match. Less biped in the human sense, and more hunched over, animalistic. More than likely robots but the overall low heat, punctuated by areas of intense heat where critical components lay. At least they weren’t endangering people in these mock attacks, although there would’ve been no complaints if she would’ve been able to take a shot at a hero this early. Before responding to the desperate pleas of the two other children, she whipped the rifle off of the sling. It came clear and found itself nestled into her shoulder, her thumb catching the safety purely out of muscle memory. The sights found themselves already centered on the critical component of the robot as she clipped off two rounds. The heavy rifle coughed through the suppressor, sending the two rounds downrange into their target. Strike first. The robot recoiled against the round, its body fragmenting as the steel penetrators pierced right through the shell, any internal components, and back the other side drawing a deep sigh from the bird. Overpenetration was always an issue for her. She rolled her eyes under her visor and glanced back at the other students. They stopped, waiting to see if she was going to join them properly in this exam. The tension hung in the air as debris was literally doing the same as her mind looked for any reason to simply abandon them… until her vision settled on the bat. It was an overall ordinary aluminum baseball bat. Perhaps dinged up from use, but just that, normal. If the girl was super strong, you’d expect it to be reinforced, or on life support, but no. It was simply a baseball bat. She looked up to the person attached to the bat. Was she… quirkless? Or just stupid? She showed no signs of having a quirk, unlike the boy who was so quick to inform them that he could take a hit. At his height and build, a defensive quirk made the most sense for him… but she lacked any of the necessary confidence brought in from having a quirk. Her words stumbled over each other in a desperate attempt to get Robin on her side, desperation one only felt if they knew they didn’t have a chance otherwise. She reached into her pack and pulled out two small devices before tossing them to her… teammates. They were simply just IR strobes, but with the dust being kicked up, It would be nice to know where these two were without much stress. “Here, so I don't shoot you.” The light would blink quietly amongst the panic, “Evacuation is a good place to start, I’ll keep you covered.” She stated plainly, against her own better judgment. While this was an exam for their capabilities, this was quickly turning into a test of Robin’s patience. Freja Helt reijiro akagi Fuyuko

God made man. Sam Colt made them equal. And while quirks were opening the divide again, Massif would be the one to rip them from their thrones and make everyone truly equal. Gear was truly the only way to bridge that divide and make Gods walk among men. Outsmarting them with information, good training, routine. These were the foundation with Robin. Wars are won on intelligence and she would never be outdone in that regard. Her vision flicked again, her eyes picking up on minute details unseen to human eyes. Dust and other particulates would rapidly accelerate just prior to Farrin’s impact with the plinth. Instead of making platforms by slowing down time, he was vastly increasing the impact by speeding up the force of the impact. “No, I don’t mind” her mouth went through the motions of pleasantries as her mind was completely focused on Farrin, not because that was why she was here. He simply represented the example to the other first years. He was the blueprint that everyone should aspire to be. “Yeah,” She chuckled out of habit, finally becoming aware that Freja was talking to her, “It becomes pretty useful when your bones are made of paper.” A portion of her attention would peel off and focus on the bat in question. It was, for intents and purposes, unimpressive. It was an archaic weapon from a less civilized era… and if it worked for her, then that’s all that mattered. “Could always look into the support labs. I’d recommend Ana but… No, I’ll just recommend Ana.” She added with finality and a nod. It was doubtful that one more student clamoring her for support gear would interpret her day much, but the idea would bring a smile to her face. “Yo,” Robin would parrot back, “I dunno, you’d have to find out.” She said before clipping the tablet back off and tossing it towards the titan. She wasn’t sure what trouble they could get up with the tablet, but it wasn’t really important. It was only linked to one other device besides her helmet. “Chicken? Oh no, how could you, How could you slaughter my peo- Yo, let me get some of that!” She cried at them in mock defiance before snatching some chicken for herself. Good old dependable Zenkai, always had some sort of treat. “Hey, wanna see a magic trick?” her voice gained an air of mischief as she spoke to the pair around her. Hero? It felt like a status symbol more than the civil servant it was meant to me. A popularity contest where the prize is adoration from the whole of Japan. Free reign for the strongest this country had to offer because if any one of them went off the leash, do you really think they could’ve been wrangled back? If a single Hero had decided that doing good was simply too hard, that helping the people they swore to protect was too complicated, their optimism was too hard a mask to keep on, do you really believe your saviors would sacrifice their comfort for your life? Do you really think yourself so special that God would risk burns to pull you from the furnace? The winged girl let a breath she had forgotten she had taken, her body tensed from the perception of danger all around. ‘Act like a Hero’? The proctor had no idea what she was actually telling these kids. Telling the children gathered to act with their best interest, take the easy route, become an existential threat to any citizen they encountered? Handing a gun to a toddler would’ve been less destructive. Equally damning would have two of these Hero-wannabes find themselves as her partners, as this had become a group exam. They were each so naïve to the world, each capable of so many atrocities. “Oh, hey. Wasn’t really aware this would’ve been a group exam.” She stated plainly as she fitted her helmet on, the boot-up process already underway. “I don’t really do partners so I'm sure you’ll understand.” she finished, as she backed away from the two students, too far gone for their own good. If they were lucky they would’ve washed out of the exam. Save themselves, and Japan, from their own foolish hearts. And if they didn’t fail here and went on to truly become a hero, Robin wouldn’t mind saving Japan from them years down the line. Freja Helt reijiro akagi Fuyuko

“Hey, if they want to pamper me, I won’t be the one to stop them.” she shrugged back, trying to imagine just how high the budget for each department actually could be. The raw cost in food had to be through several discrete roofs by itself, let alone paying the cooks and the rest of the overhead. It was impressive the amount of money some agency was willing to throw away on the gamble that any of these students didn't snap and blow up a tower with their mind. The only thing higher than the food cost was the trust they had placed in these young adults. It would’ve turned Robin’s stomach had it not been in the process of being filled with various meats and cheeses. To her companion’s credit, the food here was almost on par with the schools. It was spicy, and savory, and several other words used to describe food that Robin would never become familiar with. It was uncanny just how good some people could make food. It was like they were conducting a symphony of flavor right across her tongue or something equally poetic. She chewed on Zen’s words as she chewed apart what used to be an apex predator. “It’s not so simple, especially when you’re dealing with large bore rifles. Like, ok, so for less than lethal, the projectile needs to be at least moving slower. Less powder in the casing. Uh oh, now the bolt doesn’t fully come out of battery and the shell is stuck in the barrel. Failure to eject, failure to feed. Ok, so a looser recoil spring, or maybe adjusting your gas settings? Sure, you can do that, but you’d have to open the rifle, and swap a bunch of parts and make the tweaks, button her back up, and then maybe it might work. It’s all very well and good, but you’d need to do the exact same process to get back to lethal rounds. It would just be simpler to carry a second gun, maybe something in 12 gauge. They can put an impressive amount of less than lethal in a shotgun shell. Beanbag, tazer, pepperball. Really got options. The only issue here is you’d need something manual since those specialty rounds wouldn’t have the pressure to cycle a bolt by themselves, but there are so many pump-action shotguns out there. Really the pick of the litter.” She finally stopped as she started to see stars in her vision, her brain finally catching up to her body's demand for oxygen. She took a deep breath to clear her vision. “That’s a good idea though. Not really my usual thing, but a good idea…” She muttered off, her mind already drifting to her dream shotgun and all the minor modifications that could be made to it. Her mind was still dancing by the time Zen deflected from her question. Normally the other students in the school loved talking about their quirk, showing off. It was disgusting, it was like being proud about being a walking, talking nuclear bomb. A singular threat to everyone around you. “Sure, if you insist.” she produced another shrug before continuing, “Clearly you have no taste because I would've started with the gun and ended there.” Zenkai Hatake

Another package could only mean one thing to Robin. A new addition to her equipment. I guess ‘new addition’ wasn’t truly accurate, it was a modification to an existing piece… but that's besides the point. But it would require a testing period to at least become familiar with the interface. The device was already attached and strapped to the back panel of her armor rig and the connection to the helmet could be made from the comfort of her dorm room, but to truly get a handle for it she would need some open space. And she had it on good authority that there might be other people at the Physical Education Center. She wasn’t really one for human company, but moving targets always made for better training. She stepped into the Gym kitted out with the relevant gear to Farrin already punching through boulders. Or, almost through boulders. His fists were landing with a terrifying amount of force and the very air shuddered with each impact. Robin would pay him no mind, as had become their tradition. It was rude to interrupt and becoming the next boulder to be punched was not on her schedule today. She found a quiet spot to perch and ran a quick diagnostic of her systems. A small tablet was produced and after a few directed taps she gave a satisfied nod. Everything still seemed to be running nominally and there were no major issues in the past 15 minutes. It was really coming up Robin. The helmet was quickly fitted on and she was greeted by the all-too familiar boot up of her heads up display… except, there were a few new additions to her view. The satellite image of her surroundings had a small, blank panel inlet on top and there were several counters on the side, each flashing zero. Everything was connecting perfectly it seemed. She placed the tablet back in the recess in her vest with another satisfied nod. Farrin

The class had ground to a halt as Thea made her declaration, seemingly in defiance of the class. A lone cough was the only noise as the teacher simply raised a finger to her chin, seemingly in thought over the young woman’s answer. “Ok Miss Blasco, you want a third option? I’ll give you a third option.” with a flourish she produced a small remote and flick a screen to life. It displayed the theoretical scenario in full color display. The trolley slowly shuddered to life as it started its way down the tracks towards the aforementioned split in the path. As predicted it was set to run over a series of struggling bodies all crying out for help. On another rail was a lone tied up person listening to all of this. “Oh, this is live btdubs.” The teacher turned her attention to the class, before settling back onto the mentat. “Ok, I have given you a third option. Hop to it!” She declared, incredibly satisfied with how the class was going. There was always one among the crowd with a strong opinion, and this year it was no different. Although… The scales seemed to be tipped against the student this year. “You, Miss Powell, was it? You’ve been awfully docile.” she sighed as she pointed to the bird in the back, “Why don’t you help Blasco in her pursuit of a third option!” And with that she sat back down and waited for the students to jump at the opportunity to prove her wrong with an air of self-satisfaction. The class grew anxious as Robin groaned as she stood up. She felt eyes on her small frame as she looked over at her impromptu assigned partner. Aside from the handful of gatherings, she wasn’t really familiar with her. Thea had a habit of getting lost while standing still, and Robin was already harboring doubts about their ability to succeed. Her attention was turned back to the teacher, who she had very concrete feelings for at this point. “Well, aren’t you at least going to tell us where the trolley is?”She thought a moment before answering “And why would I do that? You have wings.”Thea

The air had a bite to it. The sun was falling below the horizon as the twilight took a firm hold of the countryside. Fireflies blinked in the forest creating constellations hung in the trees for anyone so lucky to be witness to the fleeting joy. Crickets chirped amongst themselves, holding a choir only they understood. The sky was a wash of purples and scarlet, creating a mural that clashed against the darkness of the treetops. And it was all white noise to Robin as she racked the bolt, loading a fresh round into the chamber of her rifle. The light blue backlight of her visor carefully observed her equipment. Rifle, spare magazine, an IFAK, and various other odds and ends were all packed in their rightful place to the chagrin of the Hero who was overseeing this whole affair. “Look, just don’t shoot me, ‘kay?” He muttered. Once enthusiastic, now jaded over his accompanying students, LightFix was assigned to poke around in the woods, and to assist him he had asked the local Hero School for volunteers. Robin’s eyes rolled under her helmet, “Look, it wasn’t even my idea to be here!” she countered, “Besides, just don’t get in my way and you’ll be able to walk away from this night.” her head cocked to the side in the same manner one would smirk, as her visor flipped through all the various vision enhancements. It switched between a light blue, to a faint green, and a pale white and back again. If she was alone, she might’ve been able to ‘stage’ an accident for LightFix. Clear up one quirk ahead of schedule. Fortunately for her grumpy supervision, he had asked for two volunteers and since she was here, Zen should hopefully be here shortly. She adjusted the weight of her pack on her shoulders, her mind running through the relevant facts. There was a monster, or something, loose in the woods and they sent children to deal with it. Not heroes, Students. What was the point of paying Heroes exorbitant salaries if the plan was to gum up the tracks with interns. Again, she rolled her eyes at the audacity of Heroes. “So, when’s ya frien’ gonna get hea’?” He asked, refusing to fully pronounce a single word. “So, when’ya gonna stop askin’? I told you, no idea.” Robin retorted. “I’d prefer if they were here sooner though, as the current company is rather lacking.”Zenkai Hatake king

“Oh my god, right!” She exclaimed, happy to have the topic as far away from ‘Why was she even here’. “Like, it makes no sense. The school’s gotta be paying out the ass for that kitchen staff. Like, just how many michelin stars do they have collectively? And to end up cooking in this school?” She was only half joking, of course. There were worse fates than to cook for a bunch of hero-wannabes after all, like wanting to be one of those hero-wannabes. She picked at the plate of nachos, listening to Zen’s sob story. He was forced to because of family, which was unfortunately all too relatable for the bird. Perhaps not directly because of family, but there was a lot riding on her assignment here and Ronin never made mistakes. She looked at Zen for a moment, her eyes really focusing for the first time on the titan. Despite their differences, it almost felt like they were the same. Same problems, same reasoning. It was uncanny and threw her mind into a loop. She dove to the Coke and sucked in a greedy sip to chase away the humanizing thoughts. This wasn’t a potential friend. You didn’t have the luxury of getting to know people. You are a weapon. A cough exploded from her small frame as the beverage rebelled against her, instead opting to go down to the lungs. After a small fit punctuated by waving the waitress away, she finally managed to compose herself to ask “What, gun?” her brain caught up like the snap of a rubber band. “Oh, Gun!”“It’s simple.” she started, clearing the last bits of Coke out of her lungs, “My… mutation gave me super enhanced eyesight, as well as near instant reaction time, in addition to hollow, brittle bones. Plus, my family thought I needed a hobby.” she shrugged at the end, for once only telling half truths. “Shooting rifles seemed like a good match and before I knew it, I was signing up for Hero school to shoot people for committing crimes. Farrin thinks I should get non-lethal ammo, but like, that would require specific modifications to be made! You can’t just fire .465 non-lethally! You’d need to neck the barrel down and at that point-” She paused as emotion entered her voice before a light shade of pink glazed her cheeks. “Uuhh, you probably don’t care though…” It was an easy assumption to make, she was literally built to be emphatic about her rifle. “But… umm, so like… What’s your quirk? I’ve never seen you use it. I’m beginning to think it’s just your size”Zenkai Hatake
