✧ THE NIGHTMARE COMETH ✧

Tokyo, The Dream World Festival, 7:00 pm.

It happened so suddenly. No one was really sure what 'it' was, but people were dropping like flies around you, the entire Dream World festival affected by this mysterious phenomenon. People were falling asleep and many found their quirks to be swapped with others in an erratic manner. The dreams people found themselves in were hellscapes, but the others didn't fare much better in the waking world.

Not that the dreaming had much to say as you watched the world around you descend into complete anarchy and madness.

Heroes and vigilantes did their best to fight back against the rampant wave of crime that rose following the dream incident, but many either had their quirks swapped in the attack, or were already asleep before the fight had even begun.

Not you. Whether you like it or not you are awake and it is up to you to respond to this nightmare disaster. Will every part of you survive to see the end? Will your loved ones and friends who have fallen asleep ever wake up again, or have they been sentenced to death?

Tokyo, Fallen Police Station, 1 am.

Three days have passed since the attack on the Dream World festival, that left some with their powers swapped and others in a deep slumber. Tokyo was transformed into a warzone overnight and it wasn't just isolated to the festival. The chaos spread like wildfire, with the Heroes Association and police force weakened by the attack, society's undesirables became emboldened to take advantage.

Somehow the three of you have survived this far. Whether it was through expertise, fighting against the rampant wave of crime that tore through the city, or by hiding, or through sheer luck, you have all ended up in the same spot. The once familiar streets of Tokyo was a complete mess as society struggled and failed to keep everything under control. How long was this going to go on? Was this the new normal? What about those who had fallen asleep, would they ever wake up again? Friends, coworkers, loved ones, where were they now?

Moonlight poked through the smog that covered the city skyline, a gentle respite on the night that felt like the prelude to the end of it all. Noise from further down the street beckoned the hero students closer. A once proud police station had fallen, wrecked and vandalized, the place had been turned into an impromptu night club for criminals, run by criminals. Before the three hero students could get any closer, however, someone appeared in front of them.

Warping into existence, a middle-aged man stumbled out of thin air and collapsed on the pavement. He was gasping and heaving, pressing one of his hands down on a stab wound. ''Holy shit.'' He sounded relieved, perhaps dumbfounded by his own luck. Then he looked over at the three students and immediately flinched. ''Um, are you...'' They didn't look like gang members, and no civilians would willingly go out here this late at night. ''You're vigilantes or- or students aren't you?'' There was a hopeful, yet shameful glimmer in his eye. ''I'm Myling, a pro hero with the Paranormal Hero Agency.'' He wasn't exactly a well-known hero, but he was indeed still wearing his hero costume. ''H-Hey listen, I don't have much time, I need your help, shit is about to go down.'' He looked back at the building and weakly gestured at it.

''That police station? Taken over by a gang, they go by the Purple Madness, bad guys, real bad guys. They've kidnapped people from the festival a-and other places around Tokyo! You know those who fell asleep?'' He was speaking fast, frantic and desperate for their help. ''Yeah, they took them. Into some backroom and they're going to do some messed up stuff to them, human sacrifice I don't know... I saw it all.'' He pointed up at his eyes and nodded his head. ''All of it. I-I was going to save them all, but my quirk got all jumbled and now my power isn't what I'm used to. I messed up.'' He reached a hand out towards Marlene. ''Please. I'm begging you all, I need you to go in there and buy some time. Try to save those people and I'll call in reinforcements, but for now you need to buy time. Please, I don't care if I lose my job over this, lives are on the line.''

Music was blaring from the club much louder for a split second as the reinforced door was thrown open and five people armed with guns, crowbars and knives emerged. They all wore purple decals on their black leather jackets that indicated their allegiance to the Purple Madness. One of the gang members pointed his crowbar at the student group and shouted. ''Over there! He's trying to get away!'' Four of the gang members charged ahead, trying to overwhelm Farrin, Marlene and Zenkai, while another stayed back and took a few shots at the student, wanting to end the fight before it had even begun. These people were sending a clear message. Kill first, ask questions later.

With civilians in peril and a pro hero begging them for help, how are these hero students going to respond to this nightmare?

Pure Purple Madness

TL;DR:

A police station has been taken over by a gang known as the Purple Madness. According to wounded Pro Hero, Myling, they are kidnapping the people who have fallen asleep during the Dream World attack and are planning to harm, or kill them while they are defenseless. Myling narrowly managed to escape his failed attempt to save the hostages, but as he's talking to Zenkai, Farrin and Marlene, five armed gang members come running out of the former police station, now night club to attempt to kill all of them.

OOC: Welcome to Dream World Part 2! First of all thank you for signing up!! I'm so excited to tell this story with you all! Remember you have to post at least ONCE per round, but you can skip one round if you have to. A second skip will result in no tokens being given. There are going to be 8 - 10 rounds total and I will announce when we have reached the halfway point, as well as when we're nearing the end in our designated Dream World discord channel.

Additionally, if you want to plan a cool character moment ahead of time, like making a heroic sacrifice or setting up a team attack, but want to keep it a surprise to the other people in the thread until it happens, feel free to sneak into my DMs so we can plan out the details! This is not mandatory, but I want to make sure every character shines and looks their best during this thread!
