"Of course. The technique will always overcome power." he nodded, adjusting his wooden sword's grip. From his training, he learned pretty early on that keeping a loose grip and being light on your feet was the only way to defend whenever your senses were compromised. He had enough experience in the field with flashbangs or operating in pitch-black conditions that was something he was forced to learn in order to be effective. His teacher had reveled in the idea years ago when Sho had first come to him about it, as it was something he rarely got to teach. A few thousand bruises later Sho had learned enough that he felt comfortable teaching Freja.

"Yes, and you should be able to as well with enough training." with that he would fall silent his body tensing up as he opened his other senses. The footsteps gave Sho an idea of how far she was from him and her pace. When the feint came he would bring his blade up to counter, and then she swept low. Instead of blocking, he would leap off the ground to avoid the strike and then bring his sword to Freja's neck. "Takes some getting used to, but I think you'd be capable." he smiled, opening his eyes and lowering his blade. "I think that's all I have time for unfortunately, I have another obligation." he would put the wooden sword away and place a hand on Freja's shoulder to reassure her "If you ever need more training you're always welcome at the dojo. Plus if you want to branch out, I could teach you how to use a real blade."

[attr="class","text"] For the first time in what felt like years Sho was actively taking a weekend for himself. Usually weekends were a time for either work, kendo practice/training or even playing gigs. Hell, he had been asked to do some variation of all of those things at some point or other for this weekend, but he turned them all down. Against his better judgment, he had visited his three siblings to tell them about his encounter with Chameli. None of them gave actual good advice, but they did point out that he should probably leave all of his usual weapons behind. While Lil was saying this with good intentions he was pretty sure that Rui and Ume just wanted to play with his blade so he decided to split the difference and left the blade with a trusted contact that wasn't too far from their location. Not that he expected much action on a day like this. [break][break] He wasn't exactly partial to arcades as he had never actually played video games aside from that one time with Rui and Retsu, nonetheless, he didn't feel strongly about it in the other direction to suggest another place. Besides, he was the one that propositioned Chameli for another meeting. Dressed in a casual outfit he walked through the busy streets as he made his way to their meeting point. 5pm was a fairly busy time of day for Shibuya, and Sho felt a little uneasy about being in the open without any way to defend himself if necessary, he would shake off these thoughts as he got closer to the meeting place a small gift in hand. It was customary to get gifts for people. At least he had always done this when he traveled and just earlier this week he had gone to the southern part of Japan. So, he had a small charm gift from a shrine in the south. Nothing of too much significance but not something easily found around Tokyo. Once he reached the arcade, he would wait outside the building, a few minutes early as usual for things like this. "You certainly have the right attitude for this type of training." smiling at her over her enthusiasm "Yes, I've been here for a long time. It takes a while to get the hang of the technique. Power is useless if you can't use it properly." This was doubly true for untrained criminals who either threw their weight around or believed with enough numbers they could do anything. He had first-hand experience with how subpar these criminals would usually be; he rarely needed to use his quirk offensively in the field. Once they realized bullets weren't effective, they would usually lose their drive to fight.

"Hm." he pondered the thought as it wasn't too far off from how he felt when he first started training almost a decade ago. "Whenever I've taught or trained with someone who had the same problem, it was because they relied too much on their sight." he would demonstrate what he meant by shutting his eyes and taking a few steps back. "Fighting is just as much perception as it is instinct. If you don't rely on both or know how to swap between them you're either going to hesitate or get reckless." he would steady his blade facing Freja. "Whenever you're ready, I'll show you what I mean." the intention was to show Freja what it was like to fight without being slowed down by eyesight. It is a skill that can be used for any martial arts, and the best way to speed up your actions is by relying on feeling.

Staring off into space, Sho waited for Rui to answer the door. After a minute, he would ring the doorbell again as she was clearly home, just hadn't gotten up yet to open the door. Moving the bag of food he was holding to one arm, he was about to take out his phone and call her when he felt he was being watched. Even in his civilian mode, he always ensured he was aware of his surroundings. Much to his surprise, it was a very familiar face. He knew she was coming but fully expected him to be the last one there as their last few meetings had started with her and Rui already together. "Evening Bakuretsu. Do you need a hand with your bags?" he pointed with his free hand, wondering if he had come unprepared. Then again he had done so much for Rui in the past that she was lucky he was even bringing anything at all.

"I don't think the doorbell is working again." It was not uncommon to find something broken in their apartment, whether it was because Ume had decided to munch on the foundation or Rui was doing her knife-throwing practice. He had been requested more than a few times to help with general repairs, which usually ended in chaos. The mustard gas incident was particularly damming.

"I'll open the door." he would reach through the door and fiddle with the lock before opening it himself. "I assume you're a video game fan? I've never played personally, but Rui has been pestering me, and I owed her one." he would slide his foot to push open the door and gesture for her "After you." He would enter shortly after her if she accepted his offer, ready to see what kind of disaster they cooked up today.

Even if Freja had "failed," she didn't seem too discouraged. Sho had worked with many people over the years, some from other dojos and others who just wanted to learn how to fight with a sword. Whatever Freja's actual reason for taking him up on his offer it was clear that she had the conviction to do so.

Her question was surprising, to say the least, as Sho wasn't asked too much about his personal life and history. He was a fairly private person who lived as a minimalist even with his place being a one-bedroom apartment. "I've been training in kendo since I was 12. So about 9 years. In fact I started right here at this dojo." he would point in the direction of the old man who had left when Freja showed up. "I was trained by the man you just met. Then I traveled all over Japan, refining my skills." he didn't exactly lie when you considered that refining his skills mostly meant assassinations, but that was something he wasn't going to share with a UAU student. "We can continue if you'd like. What would you like to learn? Many aspects of kendo can be applied to other weapons. It's better if we start with something you struggle with."

Like always, Rui was extra chatty. Sho was half-paying attention, nodding at specific intervals as he looked around their apartment which had clearly been cleaned by Lil while Rui had decided to make the sign. It was likely, no, albeit guaranteed that she threw a tantrum to get her way. Ume was pretty good at doing whatever as long as food was involved, and he didn't bend the knee when it came to her tantrums. Lil was perhaps a little too kind, but there wasn't much that could be done with someone like Rui.

"Uh-huh. You know your sign is spelled wrong, right? And yes, I bought them. You should know better than anyone that I'm not a goody-two-shoes." Rui had been there many times to watch Sho slaughter people or take high-profile jobs when he felt like it. When Lilian and Calisto arrived, Sho stood up immediately, heading over to shake Cal's hand. "Sho. Nice to meet you." he gave a pleasant smile before he turned back to face the other two. "So, what is our plan for tonight?"

Whoever had rounded up these people had done an incredibly poor job. Sho had expected at least someone to give him more of a challenge, and yet he cleaved through the group without any resistance. At least not any resistance worth thinking about. The group being mobilized to attack one civilian caught in the crossfire didn't strike him as a random circumstance. There was indeed a high level of chaos all over, but this was too coordinated to be done without the orders of someone worth a damn.

He would walk in the direction they came from, considering who out of the people he knew here was the culprit. Rui was someone with motivation and zero inhibitions. Still, she had yet to defy a direct order from him as, from his experience, he was the only person she ever actually listened to. Meliora was petty enough to send a crowd after one person, but he quickly disregarded this as he had asked Lil about the specifics surrounding the man she had targeted the last time they crossed paths. They were technically on the same side again, which he wasn't a fan of, but he wasn't going to waste his time with someone weaker than him. Then there was Retsu, the weakest of the bunch. She was who he initially thought would be the one to do so, but she was scared of him enough to threaten to blow herself up in the process, plus Rui would turn on her the minute it meant he was in danger. Even if she WAS crazy, there was no chance that she wasn't the brains of the operation between her and Rui. So it must have been the sniper...

"Rounds from a sniper." He traced the air as Toki looked confused. "Coming from this trajectory and elevation, it's the same floor." "What are you doing?" Toki quipped "Tracking." Sho uttered back as he looked around the group of dead bodies to make sure none of them were equipped with a sniper. Luckily for Sho, the scream of pain brought his attention to the area as it wasn't far. He would look over the railing to see Rui running up the stairs riding another grunt. Sho would call out to her, "Hey. Get you and your sidekick into that store" he would point to the sharper image. "Someone in there told me they wanted to ruin your fun by stealing everything first." he knew the taunt would get Rui riled up enough actually to go check it out, and she wouldn't die. If Retsu did? Happy accident. Either way, he would take his time to move towards the store as well, figuring that the diversion of his little sister and guest would be enough to either drive the sniper out from their position or would kill him outright

The rain poured down behind Sho as he slowly reached the maximum height of his catapult into the air. Even from this distance, Ifrit may have been under a spotlight, and Meliora's assault was doing something to him. Even with his bulked-up frame, Sho could recognize someone in pain from a mile away. Partly because he was good at reading people but mainly because he had personally killed scores of people at this point through various methods, and this was a telltale sign of something going on internally. 'Poison.' he thought to himself as he remembered seeing Meliora's snake-like feature, and it wouldn't be hard to guess that she was the one to do this. Regardless, he had one last big move that would likely kill Ifrit IF Meliora was right about the rain causing complications for him.

With his blade in its buster form, he would begin his descent, rapidly picking up speed as a falcon diving for its prey. Firmly gripping the handle, he would let the wind catch the blade slightly as it rose over his head. The whole bridge was going to come down, and Ifrit would either die by this blade or from drowning with his injuries. It was up to Kioko to survive this, and while Sho wasn't aiming for her, she would suffer the same fate if she weren't careful. Not that it concerned him, as he was pretty sure that given her propriety for vengeance, they'd be on the opposite side of a conflict soon enough.

Once he got close enough where he knew the strike would connect, he summoned two more arms to support his swing as he brought the blade down with such force that it would cut through the air, easily splitting the gaseous mercury and raining down on Ifrit. If he weren't bisected by the slash itself, the next bit would do it as a line formed across the bridge, rapidly breaking through the steel and concrete before completely cleaving through it. With the added weight from Ifrit, it would begin to collapse, and the cars started to slide towards the fault line, ushering a faster collapse. The momentum had slowed Sho down enough that he was able to pull himself to the top portion of the bridge at a point that wasn't at risk for collapse. From there, he would observe to make sure Ifrit didn't come back up, and if he didn't? He would leave without another word. Meliora's survival meant nothing to him regarding prioritizing. He was an assassin, not a babysitter.

He was clearly getting riled up, given the situation had completely flipped and now he was outnumbered. Plus, it didn't help that Sho wasn't even fully paying attention to him as he was more interested in his companion. If they were self-trained, that was something he considered extremely impressive as their movements were on the same level as his. It took him years to work up to this skill level, and this person being on his side made the rest of this child play. [break][break] Knowing there was no chance of him being attacked from behind now that it was a two on one Sho would ready his blade and take a low stance. His leg muscles bulged as he steadied his sword anticipating a desperate move from the man before him. Whether he targeted Chameli or himself, it didn't matter as Sho rocketed forward and slammed the blunt side of his sword into the man's abdomen and with another push, he would gain enough leverage to break through his defenses and slam the man into the building. [break][break] With that resolved, he relaxed, turning to face his companion with shadow still obscuring his face. "With this much noise, the police will be on their way. Good work." he wouldn't wait for a response, opting to instead exit quickly through a close wall moving through unoccupied buildings until he stopped in one. Normally, he would leave the scene entirely, but he had something...or rather someone on his mind. Chameli had entered her number into his phone but until he would message her she wouldn't have a means to contact him. He mainly wanted to make sure she got home safe but his motives were a little outside of altruism. He genuinely wanted to see her again, and being the straight shooter he was he would quickly type out[break][break] 'Hey, wanted to make sure you got home safe. Sorry, I had to run, but I would enjoy it if we could see each other again. Name a time and a place, and I'll be there if you're interested -Sho' [break][break] And with that, he would depart, blending back into the crowds of people as he headed home. Certain that as long as he continued on the same path, he would run into that stranger again. Hopefully, they'd remain allies through it all, but that was entirely up to karma. Being paired up with a stranger was something that Sho had experienced much more frequently lately than ever before. It was as if everyone was waiting for this moment to go out into the world and make an impact. It was...odd with how many people he ran into during his work hours now, especially those who would become a constant obstacle to overcome. Luckily it seemed like this newcomer was amiable as they accepted the offer to switch. The man with the blade hands wasn't too happy with the arrogance of the duo and decided to lunge at Chameli while she was distracted, only to have his blades locked with Sho's as he dug his heels in and pushed against his opposition, separating the two. "Don't pay attention, huh? I'm your opponent." Though his face was inscrutable, his demeanor pissed off the grunt, who charged once only to have his guard broken as Sho flipped his blade around and struck the man in the chest with the blunt side. A small gasp for air escaped before the man crumbled on the spot.

Before Sho could even stop to process, he would need to jump out of the way of the ringleader, who had seemingly gotten impatient and opted to resolve the situation himself. Sho was more glad than ever that he had sent Chameli the opposite way, as this group was too dangerous for someone like her. From the stories he had heard, she was quirkless. Not that that meant she couldn't put up a potential fight, but nothing about her stood out to him when it came to fighting potential. Either that or she was very, very good at hiding it.

Focusing back on the big guy at hand, he would glance over to see that his ally was handing the other two quite easily. "I think you'll need to deal with me for now. The other guy is a little busy" he would point his thumb towards Chameli dodging another incoming strike from the big guy. He would need to ensure that Chameli could care for her opponents soundly. Otherwise he would need to get involved and couldn't have this big guy at their flank.

Taking a moment to watch his "partner" in action, he couldn't help but feel impressed. Clearly, whatever quirk they had was powerful, as they didn't shy away from the idea of staying to fight. Even with the numbers, Sho wasn't too worried otherwise, he wouldn't have approached them alone, and yet he wasn't about to turn away the extra help. It just meant he didn't have to cause more of a scene. The bubbles this person produced seemed to pack more of a punch than he initially thought, with just a few being able to knock a few of them off of their feet. Given his opponents, he didn't bother even to give them his full attention until they decided to go on the offense

"Don't mess with us!" the one with the Gatling guns spoke up before aiming and firing a large barrage of bullets into what he thought was Sho, only to realize that none of the shots did anything as Sho had made himself intangible. The act of aggression did bring his focus back to his group and using the blunt side of his blade, he would dash forward and attempt to take two of them out of the fight in one go. While he missed the one who could create fire nets, his did get his preferred target and sent the man with gatling guns reeling, smashing into the wall near them, and being knocked out cold. Seeing the man approaching Chameli with the sword hands, he would speak up in her direction, "Want to switch dance partners?" there as no way a master swordsman like Sho would lose to someone with a simple quirk like that. Plus, explosions were not exactly easy to deal with without getting in too close for his comfort. Probably easier for Chameli overall.

If Meliora was the brains of the operation and Sho was the muscle at this moment, he hadn't done anything yet. He was far too cautious of a fighter opting to feel out a person's strength compared to his own. He liked his fights quick and painless on both sides as the added suffering due to carelessness was the fastest to rack up bad karma. Not something he was willing to do, and besides, Kioko's "support" likely came with a twist. She was far too petty of a person to assist him reasonably. So he figured he would use her right back if she used him. Even on her signal, he would stay at a distance choosing to hold his position until he knew exactly what he was getting into.

His instinct was something he could always rely on, and right before the outburst, he could feel the hairs on his neck stick up, and so he would leap backward, wrapping the shadowy tendrils around his body just before the scream that shook the bridge would take place. It would reach his ears for just a moment before he would place the extra limbs over them and recenter himself as it was very disorienting. 'A snake through and through,' he thought with Kioko having withheld this information as she did her homework that he would instead take a different approach. His knack for telling how strong someone was came in handy in this case as he managed to get a feel for the metal that Kioko used during the brief moments he was solid. They didn't make much of a dent, instead burning up into a gas which...well, Sho wasn't stupid enough to stand around and let it happen. He would choose to bound back, falling off the bridge and briefly meeting Kioko's eye contact as the arms from his back held onto the side. Just as she withheld information he would too pull himself back up once he'd fallen far enough and springing into the air raising about 5 stories into the air. For now, it was up to Kioko to ensure he didn't move from his spot as Sho transformed his sword into its buster sword form. That bridge was going down, and if Kioko wasn't quick enough on the uptake so was she. Oh well.
