With a grunt of acknowledgement Retsu followed behind Elias as he made his way through the warehouse. When they breached the third door she cast a quick look inside to scan for threats before stepping back. What happened in there was none of her business. She wasn't paid to listen to any of it nor did she care. Besides. The last thing she wanted was to learn anything that had no importance to her but would be actively detrimental to know nevertheless. Not bothering to watch her gait she walked away with loud plodding steps, doing another sweep of the warehouse to make sure no one was still hiding in some nook or cranny and checking their fallen enemies in case any were still alive. "Ah rekken we're done 'ere," Retsu said as she returned. "Ya know where ta send the pay. See ya around."With a wave over her shoulder Retsu began to depart, straining her ears all the while for any sign of betrayal. Information was tricky and she'd seen outside help be liquidated at the end of missions involving them far too often to lower her guard. Hells. She herself had done exactly that on more than one occasion. In their line of work trust was in short supply and one could find themselves on the wrong side of the line before they even realized. Retsu was well aware she was in bad shape right now and her chances of winning should it come to a conflict weren't quite as guaranteed as she'd like to think. The important part was making sure Elias didn't figure that out. It shouldn't be too hard. Retsu had gotten out of worse situations with less. There were few that truly knew her limits and most would have to be dug up to be questioned. With a bit of luck this was nothing more than just one more successful mission. One that neither of them would ever bring up again.

The plan, for all that it could be called as such, had succeeded and as her borrowed ride spun out of control Retsu took stock of the situation. With this the transport and at least four of the escort vehicles were down for the count. Maybe more. Retsu wasn't able to spot one of the remaining vehicles. She'd have to keep an eye out for it but for now more important things had to be handled. Like the remaining APC that she could spot. One of the escorts that had been behind the transport before it got overturned. Jamming the gas and brakes alternatingly while fighting the steering wheel she angled her skidding vehicle so the other one would crash right into it. Once more the plan succeeded, headlights growing closer and closer like the light at the end of the tunnel of this fight. Ah shit. This was going to hurt. For the third time in short succession Retsu was able to correctly predict what was going to happen. Metal screeched as it tore, wheels ground across asphalt with the scent of burning rubber and for a moment Retsu's vision went black. When it came back the world was upside down and she hung weightlessly for one lurching moment before her vehicle crashed back to the ground. Had anyone else been alive to hear within it they would have heard a long groan before Retsu slammed several kicks into the door. Eventually she managed to dislodge the bruised and battered thing and send it flying. Grasping the bottom of the vehicle she pulled herself upright with another groan and stepped out, almost collapsing when her leg gave out from under her. Looking down she let out a long hiss. Yeah. That leg wasn't going to be holding up her weight anymore. Pulling off her tattered helmet so she could see through more than just a few uncracked places in the visor Retsu took stock of the situation for a moment before getting back into action. It seemed she'd ended up a bit further down the road than Mummy and Djinn. Pulling several smoke grenades off her harness she tossed them over the overturned vehicle in case the escort vehicle she'd lost track of was still around. The last thing she wanted was to get shot in the back while she met back up with the rest of the group. Reaching back into the vehicle she grabbed one of the mercs' assault rifles to use as a crutch while holding her own one-handed to fire at anyone that sought to threaten her. As she hobbled back into the fray she kept a sedate pace, saving a burst of energy for whichever threat may come her way. They weren't quite at the finish line yet and Retsu wasn't gonna count her eggs before they'd hatched.

Retsu replied with a simple nod, leaning up against the wall without a care in the world. At least that was what it looked like. Not even for a second did she lower her guard, watching and listening the entire time for anything that could be a problem. Once Forevermore gave the signal she strolled into the place without a care. "That's why ah hired ya," she shrugged while keeping her voice low. The Hayashida-gumi were old-fashioned as a group could be. Traditions so old their purpose had been forgotten, bigotry that prevented anyone with abilities they didn't understand from joining and the kind of casual cruelty that came from awful practices becoming normalized through generations of habit. Retsu was doubtful they'd have anyone with a potent quirk amongst them but so too did she know that hypocrisy was oft practiced by those in power. "Go ahead, ah'll be roite behind ya," Retsu said with a look that made it clear she wasn't going to be doing any climbing. She'd wait here until he was done scouting and follow after. Things had gone smoothly thus far but she doubted it'd last. Before long something was bound to go wrong and she wanted to be sure she had solid ground under her feet when it did. From where they were now there were at least three routes to the target. The fastest way was through the corridors connecting the building they were in to the other buildings within the compound. Armed guards stood at the corner of each and several more patrolled the whole place at set intervals. Given the large gathering in the courtyard right next to said corridors remaining unseen could prove difficult and being spotted would cause several dozen yakuza members to bear down on them within moments, both from the courtyard and the buildings on the other side trapping them in a pincer maneuver. Even so the bodies they left behind could be discovered at any moment. Speed might just be what they needed. The second route was far riskier but put them in control of the momentum. If they barged into the courtyard guns blazing they'd be wildly outnumbered but all the danger would be coming from a single direction. The front. The third and final path they could take was the longest but the safest. If they traversed the islands atop the lake they could go around the courtyard entirely all the way to the other side of the compound. From there a single corridor at the back of the base would lead them right to the room where the Hayashida-gumi's leadership was meeting. It would be a detour however and if the bodies were discovered before they made it across both their plan and the two of them might end up dead in the water. Letting out a yawn Retsu waited for Ishikawa to finish scouting the area, wholly unaware of the possibilities herself. Whichever path he picked she'd go with, ready for anything that may come their way.

"You know you can't win right. The moment you get a lead I can just teleport out of here," The silver haired woman leading Wildfire taunted. "Run then. Ah ain't stoppin' ya," Retsu fired back coldly. "With y'r base taken out y'll be outta the picture either way.""You'd know, wouldn't you?""Ah bounced back. You won't 'ave the chance."Their casual conversation stood in stark contrast to the surroundings. Arrows made of ice and bolts of fire flew through the air on one side and impacts made the floor reverberate from the other. Like the eyes of two impacting hurricanes calmth only reigned around Retsu and her adversary. The corner of her mouth crooked into a lopsided grin. She knew better than most that you only needed one. The arrows shot out wildly by the ice user were dodged by Olivia, blocked by Flamemane and flew directly in front of Retsu herself, aimed to intercept aggression that had halted before they'd even been fired. Screams resounded from his partner, his red hot skin more than enough to melt bullets and resist burns but utterly unprepared for the corrosive acid contained within Yingshe's shots. One expectation gone wrong. That was all it took in the heat of battle. Had he known the bullets were corrosive he'd have dodged them with ease but over-reliance on his quirk had done the man in without his opponent ever realizing his strengths and weaknesses. So too was a moment of distraction devastating. With the ice user screaming for his brother Retsu had no trouble lining up a shot, only the shaking caused by the impact of Johnson crushing another opponent and the heavy steps of the giant causing the shot to wound instead of kill. Even so it was enough for to put him on the back foot. All the while Retsu maintained eye contact with her own opponent. "Naht even gonna flinch when y'r siblings get put down lahk dogs? Cold." "Well, you know what they say," Wildfire's leader shrugged. "You win some you lose some. Besides, why would I care about the unfinished product when the full package is right here?"Along with her words a lick of flame left her mouth and her hair billowed with frosty wind. Blue flames erupted from the ground beneath their feet once more as she and her accompanying teleporter both vanished. Retsu spat. "Fookin' coward."All the while she kept her guard up. Rui was having the time of her life dealing with her oversized lug of an opponent -one that was actively shrinking as he was forced to stop to try and get her off him- but Retsu lacked her peculiar form of immortality. Even as she tossed incendiary grenade after incendiary grenade into the club to burn the whole thing to the ground she kept her eye open. Wildfire was done for and Willful Wisp had seemingly chosen to prioritize getting civilians to safety over making an arrest but Retsu wouldn't be caught dead expecting one of those glory hogs not to return at the worst possible time. For all intents and purposes the fight was as good as over, the needle threaded and one more enemy removed from the board. Retsu wouldn't lower her guard over it. No, she'd keep one eye open. Just as she always did.

Flashes rung out when Temper met quirk, Retsu's hunch being proven correct and her fiery blade managing to parry the energy construct created by Rainbow Riot. It was a melee that was as brief as it was flashy and ended not unlike Yingshe's battle against Cyberwolf. For a moment Retsu was glad for the scent of ozone in the air. She didn't think she'd be able to eat bacon for a while otherwise. "Oh no, they got Flamemane and her group. Now the gang's down to 99% power!" One of the new arrivals laughed uproariously. "Dibs on her base in Adachi." Another called out, completely ignoring the fact that Flamemane was back on her feet. Slapping his knee a third pointed towards the crowd. " Darn, Fleamane, you even let a stray dog in."The misty wisps that escaped Rui's detonation had condensed into the shape of a person once more leaving behind the blue cap and cape she'd been wearing over her custom outfit. "Aww man, it took me like weeks to get this far in. Just a few more and I might've made it to their leadership. All that effort for nothing. Oh well. You're all under arrest," Willful Wisp stated confidently while twirling a pair of handcuffs. For all her bluster about making arrests however her focus seemed more on staying in between the villains and the fleeing civilians rushing for the exit of the night club. The Pro Hero was a threat but not an immediate one. Unlike the group of six that were now taking note of Olivia as well. "Hey, ain't she a lot too whole for that prick's usual victims?" The red skinned man at the front asked rhethorically with a nod in her direction. "Rainbow Riot, Cyberwolf and I guess Flamemane's posse too. We'll have to get a bit serious," The woman at the front added with a seriousness that did not match the carefree smile on her face. "Get them."Like an arrow loosed four of the six shot towards Olivia and Rui respectively. The two furthest at the back had headed for Rui and Flamemane, putting their money where their mouth was as they sought to finalize the transfer of Flamemane's assets. The man with baseball cap and glasses gained a metallic gleam as his transformation took hold while the one with sunglasses shook the floor beneath him as he grew with every step he took. The pair heading for Olivia had been the ones flanking their leader, the red-skinned man now glowing brightly and leaving a trail of fire in his wake while the white-haired one formed a halberd out of ice and rushed into the fray. That left the teleporter and the leader, the latter of which was locked in a staring contest with Bakuretsu. Retsu smirked, staying uncharacteristically calm and away from the fray. Yingshe's contract was technically done and the last thing she wanted was to get flanked if the mercenary decided to try and leave here and now. No, she'd see how the tides were turning before she struck. Her hand reached for another of her newer grenades. She'd prepared for this. When she did she'd strike hard, strike fast and strike once. Retsu knew their abilities and styles. It would be enough.

"Shouldn'a take more than three days ta get a batch done the roite way," Retsu responded while leafing through her papers. The fact that there were scribbles on the papers in a handwriting that was decidedly not hers was frustrating but intrigue was winning out over anger. Somehow the buffoon had stumbled upon something completely different using her research. "Yah, go fer it. Ah dun' care."Monkeys and typewriters may be able to create masterpieces but GodFall hadn't had infinite time. The lightning cannon wasn't a weapon Retsu had the slightest interest in. The designs behind it however... Those she could repurpose for her own uses. "We're done 'ere. Ah'll leave the grenades in a banana crate marked with a seven back in the warehouse we first met. Open it from the bottom." If it turned out that Yinshe had been lying to her about Djinn's payment she'd find a bit more than just E.M.P. grenades and a self-destruct mechanism to get rid of the evidence if it was opened from the top. There was hardly a need to mention that though. It was implied. Making her way out of the garage she pulled out one of her burners to give Djinn a call the moment Yinshe was gone. It refused to turn on. "Gads damnit."

Cyberwolf's torso swelled as he walked towards Yingshe, his right shoulder going through the door before his left out of necessity. There was no way he'd fit otherwise. A blue glow thumped rhythmically beneath his shirt, each beat sending a colorful blue liquid through his veins to power the activating armory within his form. Not even bothering to respond to her feint his cheeks spread wide as he loomed over her with a smile that showed teeth. Teeth that were far pointier and more metallic than they had any right to be. With a whir they began to grind like a chainsaw while he stepped closer and closer, one thick arm extended to grab and feed her into the wood chipper. That was when the E.M.P. went off. The blue glow immediately died down and his teeth stopped grinding. With a grunt he fell to a knee, eyes wide and mouth twisted into a snarl. The more advanced parts of his collection being rendered unusable reduced the titan to a mere man yet it had far from taken him out of the fight. He still had metal for bones, machinery beneath his skin to blunt strikes and enough strength to tear through iron with his bare hands. Yet with his cybernetic eyes shorted out and the improvised internal exosuit grafted into him no longer assisting his movements he was slow and blind, easy pickings so long as Olivia didn't let herself get caught. Cyberwolf was far from the only one having a bad time. Back on the dance floor Flamemane was having the emotional roller coaster of a lifetime. A misunderstood confession, an offer of friendship, a confirmation of their imminent demise and then a ray of hope. Not more than a single step later it was replaced by confusion and a horrified widening of her eyes. Her head shook side to side right as the explosion went off, one of her two allies turning into mist and vanishing and the other one turning into 'mist' and 'vanishing'. As both E.M.P. and thermobaric destruction reigned at the same time it was lights out throughout the building in a variety of ways. Something that gave Rainbow Riot a distinct disadvantage in his own fight as he was now the brightest source of light in the room. A veritable neon sign in a firing range. He wasn't for long As if a rift to hell had opened the scent of ozone spread throughout the air before blue flames spread across the far end of the club like Wildfire with a sharp crack, like reality itself had been torn. From within the flames six figures materialized, the frontmost three seated with the other three theatrically standing behind them. "Aww, y'all got this party started without us? Makes sense. The stars always arrive last. Fun's over, prepare to get wrecked!"

Olivia's backflip was more than enough to keep her out of the cannon's range, the arcs of electricity firing from it hitting a variety of metal surfaces instead of her. Something that would have worked wonders if it'd been used against its intended audience, the cybernetically enhanced freaks that called themselves Augmented Intelligence, but was as a screen door on a submarine right now. "Oy watch where y'r fookin' shootin' ya baboon!" Retsu shouted at the gorilla. Clearly the quirk that gave him human intellect had put him solidly at the top of bell curve. Clicking her tongue as she pulled a third grenade apart only to find several parts connected to the completely wrong things she finally had all the parts she needed to make a very rudimentary E.M.P. grenade. How he'd somehow managed to stumble onto making the parts correct but then completely messed up putting them together she had no idea. The only answer GodFall provided to her inner monologue was a pained scream when Yingshe's blade tore a gash into his skin and part of his muscles, the gorilla's physique making it tough enough to not go through entirely. Another yelp resounded when a spark from his armor hit the metal sending a shock through him before the blade stopped making contact. "Amateur. This is 'ow ya do it," Retsu scoffed at GodFall while tossing the finished E.M.P. grenade his way. Not even bothering to continue paying attention she began to collect the papers strewn all over the place. The subpar craftsmanship made the grenade far from effective but it proved more than enough to short out his armor, weapon and everything electronic in the rest of the room. "Looks lahk it at least works. Fook 'im up so we ken get outta 'ere and ah ken show ya what an actual fookin' E.M.P. does."

"Someone's gotta get shit done," Retsu fired back while stepping past the mess Olivia had made. She hoped these idiots weren't dumb enough to keep her papers on their person or those EMPs would have to wait. Grumbling under her breath she pressed the button to raise the mechanical gate leading to the back of the workshop. It rose up so lethargically slow that she could've taken a nap in the time it took for the thing to raise and with a noise so grating there was no way she would've been able to. She didn't bother raising it any further than waist height. Time was money and they'd go into the red if they had to wait for that. Of course the moment it finished raising up that high she kicked in the door right next to it and stepped through with her pistol in front of her. The entire precaution turned out to be for nothing as their engineer slash leader, a gorilla mutant by the name of GodFall, was happily humming along to whatever tune was playing through his headphones. Only when she stepped in did he stop and look their way. "You! What are you doing here!" His gruff voice rang out. Stepping further in Retsu's attention was elsewhere however, her eye twitching up a storm as she looked upon the broken safe, papers scattered all over the tables and half-assed prototypes. "That's not how ya- What the fook were you even... No, just no." She continued with disgust as she picked up one of the grenades with a sneer before haphazardly tossing it to the side, completely confident it wouldn't do shit. "What even is... Why would you use fookin' AA batteries in an EMP device?" Retsu couldn't even call it a grenade. Utterly ignoring the engineer picking up some sort of electricity cannon that she could only assume came through fucking up her designs so hard he'd made a device that amplified electricity instead Retsu leafed through papers and put aside parts. Her eye briefly flicked to GodFall and Yingshe in turn. "Keep him off me fer a minute will ya?"
She hadn't even finished speaking before his armor electrified as well. Ah well. Not her problem.

Gurgling and spitting Retsu cringed as part of a tooth clattered onto the ground. Their guns hadn't been the only thing she should have watched out for. Oh sure, the first one had gone down before he had time to retaliate but the second hadn't been nearly as easy, much less the third. By the time she'd gotten to the fourth she had a bullet in her thigh, an acid splatter across her right arm and a burn on her left. Fookin' flammable acid spit. She'd greatly enjoyed bringing Temper near that fooker's face and letting nature do the rest. The final member of their little sortie was blessed with a few arms too many for her to block and counter without taking more than she handed out. Still, even if he'd hit her thrice for every blow she returned hers had hit much harder. A pained hiss left her side when her holster dug into her cracked rib. Well, she was alive and he wasn't available anymore to dispute her statement. That counted as a win in her eyes. "Djinn, you good out there?" Retsu asked after straightening her posture. No point tipping anyone off as to just how hurt she was. Weakness like that got you killed. Speaking off, she sure hoped her employer hadn't kicked it. That'd be a hassle. Heading over towards the loudest sounds with at a sedate pace Retsu kept an eye on the surroundings. Unless he'd fully jumped ships they still hadn't found his guy and Retsu had no intention of being ambushed the moment she thought things were safe.

Retsu's eyes narrowed when she heard Olivia talk to her gun. It was possible the merc was just batshit insane, she'd seen enough of her kind, but there was a far more worrying possibility. If she had a quirk that could talk to objects none of Retsu's secrets were safe. That made her a potential liability. Sure, she implied she didn't have one but Retsu knew better than to trust people at face value. There wasn't any time to deal with it in full now but she'd definitely need to start taking precautions. "Mah gun's a fookin' liar."
Gods knew what good that would do but if nothing else it'd at least add some confusion to make the truth harder to figure out. As her rifle 'talked' Retsu took a look at the unfolding scene. Cyberwolf had taken the bait. Like werewolves of lore the man's calm and brusk facade hid aggression issues even Retsu thought were extreme. He took those shots personally. With a snarl on his face he barreled through the crowd, pushing and shoving with enough force to knock people off their feet as he rushed towards Yingshe. Parts of his skin lit up as the machinery beneath whirred. Bladed spikes not unlike caltrops burst out of his clenched fingers right before the whole fist went flying towards her, connected to his wrist by a thick electrified chain all the while. Near the center of the dance floor too battle had been joined in full. Fully aware of Mummy's quirk Flamemane hadn't even bothered to fire her gun. What she hadn't been aware of was just how fast Rui was. With a cry of pain as the knife carved a furrow into her Flamemane threw the gun straight at Rui's face while swearing loudly and shouting at her companions to stop their panicky shooting lest they hit someone else. A rainbow flash right in front of Retsu followed by the front of her rifle falling off signaled the end of her viewing session. "Go crash someone else's birthday party you scum-sucking maggot!" A new voice cried out while swinging the handle they were using to extend their quirk, a multicolored flash in the air. "If it ain't Rainbow Riot," Retsu sneered. "Aquaman couldn't fookin' make it?""You'll get to meet him when we're done with you!"
Drawing Temper and getting ready to show him just how wrong he was her eye briefly flicked to Rui when she shouted at them. A signal? What kind of fookin' signal? Wait a second, didn't she accept the grenade just like when they were fighting those two pros? "Shower drain!" Retsu shouted when Rui was in their midst. With some luck it'd come across.

"Hello there," Retsu said calmly while pushing the door open. "Where's my fookin' stuff ya goddamn nerds?"Unless it was located in abject terror Retsu wouldn't be able to read the location off their facial expressions. A shame, but not one she wasn't used to. Ignoring the balding men around the conference table her gaze flicked to the guy giving the presentation. "You! Sounds lahk you know what ah'm talkin' about." "I don't-'
The sound of a metallic ping cut off his words. With a theatrical flourish Retsu spun the safety pin of the frag grenade she'd just drawn around her finger. "Ah guess ah dun' need ya then." "W-wait we can-" "Buh bye." "I know where it is!" The man shouted as quickly as he could. Seeing Retsu pause in the middle of lobbing her grenade at his face he continued talking. "The safe is in the workshop in the back if you just let me- Wait, what are you-?!"With the knowledge secured Retsu lobbed the grenade at him and turned towards the door leading further in, ignoring the executives pointlessly trying to get out of the blast range before it'd go off. Maybe if they'd did anything themselves instead of getting rich off others they'd have been fast enough but alas, they would not be mourned. The grenade went off just before she kicked in the door to the final room, wondering whether Olivia had managed to clear out the garage yet. She sure hoped so. Dealing with everyone in the heart of Ars Natura's base alone sounded like it'd be an absolute pain.

“Well, that’d be quite something, wouldn’t it?” Retsu prodded, pretending she knew exactly what was going through Yoko’s mind. In truth she had no fookin’ clue how to interpret the student’s response. Intimidation she could do but mind games and manipulation had never been her strong point. Situations requiring those were ones she usually solved with bombs or bullets. Speaking of which. “Makes sense,” she nodded before falling silent, more than happy to let the blonde ramble away to fill the silence. There weren’t a lot of conversational techniques she knew but she’d learned from Rui that so long as you stayed quiet the other person would go on and on and on until you spoke up. With some luck Retsu could get something useful out of Yoko’s rant. “Keep ‘em underestimating you and then Bang!” She shouted the last word while slamming her fist down on the table. “Nevah fails ta work. ‘specially when judgemental fooks think they’re better then ya.” Retsu continued with a malicious grin, the mania in her eye plain for all to see. “Metal it is,” she responded while scribbling a few more notes down on paper. “Don’t ah fookin’ know it, ain’t exactly got a quirk that’s good at range either.” Retsu added bitterly, the last part of her sentence almost a hiss as her left eye throbbed in pain. Who knew how much truth there had once been to that statement? Not her. She’d find out though. No matter who she had to kill for it. Letting out a sympathetic snort Retsu nodded in agreement. “Ya know it. Which brings me ta the next part. Payment.” While it may seem like a non sequitur Retsu didn’t wait for long to elaborate. “Ah ain’t gonna lie. Ah dun’ trust y’r money as far any farther then ah ken throw it. Fer all ah fookin’ know it’s bein’ tracked.” Leaning against the workbench as if she didn’t have a care in the world Retsu raised her index finger while making eye contact. “Instead, ah’ll be askin’ fer a single favor. Worst come ta worst ‘nd ya flake on me, well,” she snorted. “People’ll suddenly foind out y’r buyin’ arms off Bakuretsu.” Retsu made sure to put extra emphasis on the final word. Even if the student hadn’t recognized her in person she should have at least heard of the name and more importantly how vindictive she could be. Why, she doubted she even needed to elaborate that reputation would be the least of Yoko’s worries. “Nothin’ illegal of course. See, ya weren’t wrong that heroes are up ta some fooked up shite. That sister a’ yours? Cunt’s got an illegal lab. Some real messed up shit in there,” she lied with a straight face. “Ah need it off mah turf and ah’d rather not ‘ave ta deal with The Gorgon breathin’ down mah fookin’ neck while ah’m doin’ it. Gahds know what she and The Elementalist did ta themselves. Could take ‘alf mah arsenal ta put the bitch six feet under. So ‘ere’s the plan. Moment ah’m ready ta fook it up y’ll come ta one of our hideouts, give ‘er a call that y’r in trouble and pop y’r distress signal or whateva.”Leaning forwards slightly she extended a hand towards Yoko. “We got a deal?” Retsu asked with an expression that made it clear it was barely more than a rhetorical question. “Ya know what? Do well enough and ah moite just 'elp ya put 'er down y'rself. How’s dat sound?”
