| Makitori Hebi | @winding.snake.nāga Location: UA, Tokyo, Japan. | Current Status: Taking part in Armor Wars, Arena 3 if you wanna watch. Now Playing: CG5 - Injustice "Great idea! Lead away the ones that aren't fixated on me, which I really hope is most of them!" The anxiety that prompted her wishful thinking unfortunately did not show in Hebi's speech, as she shouted in Miroru's general direction. She was so fast, faster than Hebi could ever hope to be. Did her own mutant nature have something to do with that? She didn't have time to ponder that question. Curiosity could be satisfied later. While collecting (a group of) the 'civilians' on fire into a pile had gone off without a hitch, it was the all-important follow-up that had gone awry. As should've been expected, the wood of the cane snapped faster than the metal or concrete did. A brittle lever wouldn't lift shit. Hebi, at first, looked for a way to achieve her plan without relying on the crutch of her tail's reach, but couldn't find one quickly. Her options for mobility were quickly being limited, too.
That second of hesistance and the couple steps needed to re-position herself for the manual hydrant-breaking had cost her a bit of that buffer the earlier success had bought her. Cooling down rapidly as she and the surrounding road were soaked, Hebi prayed that the fire all around would keep her temperature up and steeled herself for the next stage. Once again, she physically braced herself against the ground. Noting no recoil, this time it was just for better aim. She let loose the「Laser Cannon」on the Giants approaching once more. Fire! Presuming no spontaneous explosions from the cannon, she readied another shot. Fire! Presuming no overheating rendering the weapon useless, she lined up the last shot of this burst. Fire!
Unfortunately, that's all Hebi could manage before a s e a r i n g p a i n in her leg caused the cannon to stray far off-target before she could pull the trigger. One of the fiery fuckers had grabbed her, yep. That wasn't good. She didn't see any more of them fixated on her, but there were several not on fire.
tl;dr - Great minds think alike! Miroru (note: she hopes that the ones not attaching themselves to her are the majority, to clear up potentially ambiguous wording) - Off-balance and vulnerable, but Steps 1 & 2 ultimately successful. - Step 3: Using the new brief safe-space, buckle down and blast up to 3 more of the giants with the「Laser Cannon」, dependent on the thing not blowing up or overheating the first 2 times. - Awaiting escalation, post 2/2. There stood Makitori Hebi, defiant. The giants were many and strong, sending heatwaves their way. Facing this threat, Hebi couldn't help but feel incredibly outmatched. But, knowing that at least two of her fellow students were fast enough to make rescues and willing to support her, she was able to stand strong. The little... false babies were even greater in numbers, Hebi hadn't quite grasped the scale of 'one per building' in this neighbourhood until now. Some of them were on fire, same as just about everything in this no-longer-picturesque hellscape. A large number of them were approaching her from all sides, far more than there should've been. She'd only saved one, which was now making its way down to her. Looking around, she saw the cause. As each more ambitious hero hopeful had brung the dolls to the street, then been evacuated as they couldn't handle the heat, she became the nearest target for the 'scared civilians'. Once again, she found herself struggling to resist her impulse to silence them. Young, defenseless, crying. Bite, tear, s- shut up!
No, the dolls could touch her. She'd be a rock, a protector. That was her job. What couldn't happen was those flaming ones getting anywhere near her, though. Thinking fast, Hebi turned to face the largest group of the fiery dolls and placed her middle fingers and thumbs together.「The Social Distancer」activated, pushing the group back in a neat inverted cone shape. Together. If it worked, they'd be (at least temporarily) disabled and corralled. If it didn't, they'd be closer but it might still work. Hebi would just be a whole lot more exposed.
Next, equipping one of her wooden canes, Hebi took it in her tail and stretched out to a nearby fire hydrant. Using the extra reach and leverage of the cane, she'd try and rip the hydrant off the ground & water main that bound it in place. This would hopefully douse the area, creating a little safe zone for her and extinguishing the rapidly-melting baby-droids. If the cane was insufficient, she'd just have to expose herself more to rip this thing off with all her own strength. Again, not the safest move, but she had to trust in her plan here.
tl;dr - Safety net established - Where the fuck did all these babies come from, I saved one (1)? - Burning babies need to back off and cool off. - Step 1: 「The Social Distancer」is used to push 'em away and into a loose pile. - Step 2: The「Deck of Canes」is used (w/ tail) to knock/rip a fire hydrant out of the ground and unleash the water. - Awaiting results, post 1/2. | Makitori Hebi | @winding.snake.nāga Location: Tokyo, Japan. | Current Status: summer nights are warm Now Playing: Queen - Sheer Heart Attack There would've been a scream, if Hebi were not certain that opening her mouth would've meant vomiting. Yep, little late on that one, thanks. Her incredible blunder with her choice of attack method had mostly been down to the fact that she hadn't seen/felt the first demonstration of the man's Quirk. Now, she was experiencing it first-hand. The 「Bad Vibes」wracked her body, and if it weren't for a hair-trigger impulse to push her main body back off the guy just as it started, that probably would've been it for her. Instead, Hebi was shaken, but the only part of her body really suffering was her tail. God, her tail! The vibrations were wreaking havoc on the packed muscle of Hebi's main weapon, causing it to only contract tighter and tighter around the man's body. If she didn't let go right fucking now, at least one of the two was going to die. Hebi didn't know which would be worse, but right now she didn't care. In a last-ditch effort before she lost all muscular control, her tail uncoiled from around the man with enough force to spin him in the air briefly. Then, Hebi stood back. Her tail lay around her, spasming. Nearly useless. A 240 lbs ball-and-chain, trapping her in place. For now, the serpentine girl could still strike, but was diminished.
Thankfully, she was correct in her assessment of the quicksilver woman's competence. A construct, of course! At times like this, she envied those with emitter Quirks who were able to do their work at range. Envy wasn't the dominant emotion right now though, it was gratitude. Awe. "Thank you for the warning. Sorry, my impatience could've endangered both of us. I can't really move from this spot until I recover, but I'll follow your lead otherwise."Notes: Strength at B- -> C+ -> C -> C- until recovered (couple posts), muscle control thing going on until end of next post I think. | Makitori Hebi | @winding.snake.nāga Location: UA, Tokyo, Japan. | Current Status: Taking part in Armor Wars, Arena 3 if you wanna watch. Now Playing: Derivakat - Doomsday Well, that escalated quickly. As much as a situation can escalate from everything being on fire, anyway. Hebi lifted herself onto the roof of the building, just as the baby doll she'd been carrying had started to talk. And talk, and talk, and talk. Hebi resisted the non-zero urge to punt/launch the fake child into the flames. No! Bad! Not heroic thoughts. Her thoughts turned to Marlene, funnily enough. Did being artificial mean the entity was inherently less important or valuable? Not like these things were even remotely near her level, but the thought remained. Just as Hebi was going to head back down to street-level to participate more (what kind of hero just stood by in a situation like this, instead of trying to save people, even if it was the smartest move?), some much larger threats presented themselves.
What could she do, right now? Hebi wasn't a rescue hero, not by a long shot. She'd save people where she could, but she was too slow to get around and seek people out. She could see the faster, smarter heroes going for that already. No, Hebi was a tank. A fighter. A protector. If she could get in the way, be a shield against the villains, then hopefully lives could be saved that way too. Hebi didn't have time to think. If she let herself look at this pragmatically, she'd let that self-preseveration above all attitude she'd learnt creep back in. The scared, abused kid that she'd come here to prove she wasn't any more. No, now was the time for... ACTION!
Hebi 'equipped' the「Laser Cannon」. Bracing herself with her tail (in case, somehow, this light weapon had recoil), she fired the heavy weapon at the closest of the giants. Unless anything catastrophic happened, she'd then head down towards the oncoming titans on the ground below. She called out, shouting over the roaring flames. "Sweater-san, Acrobat-san! Keep it up! I'll try and keep them away from you, wish me luck!" The weapon, unless broken, was still in the serpent's hands. Let them come, she'd endure as best she could. She had to.
tl;dr - Takes the baby she has up onto the roof, leaving it there. - Fires the「Laser Cannon」at one of the giants.- Descends to the street, towards the big guys, 'on foot'. - "Ganbatte Miroru, ganbatte Amilia Pierce!" Jinx Sendo Orochi

| Makitori Hebi | @winding.snake.nāga Location: Tokyo, Japan. | Current Status: summer nights are warm Now Playing: grandson - Blood // Water Blood, tainted by venom. Poison? Unclear, not that it mattered. She could smell it regardless. A predator must be able to spot opportunities and strike. Was that what she was? It doesn't matter.
As soon as the massive enemy was off-balance, she made her move. That serpentine limb, her signature weapon, struck out and ensnared the man's arms & legs. The former were pulled out from under him, if her strength was sufficient. Either way, she leaped towards the man, pulling her main body on top of him with hands and feet pressed against the torso. This kind of capture-focused fighting was certainly her specialty, but she was still just a student. "You are outnumbered. Yield, before your body is broken." A simple command, said with authority the young hero-in-training did not possess. Perhaps cocky, but the other woman seemed competent. If this backfired, Hebi just hoped she'd be able to salvage it. "Are you alright, ma'am? I am Nāga." She didn't turn to face her 'ally', but she hoped that short introduction would be sufficient. The whole speaking side of heroics was not her strong suit, not in the slightest.
Note: Little short, but hopefully it's enough to respond to. I fully expect this capture attempt to go poorly, have fun.

| Makitori Hebi | @winding.snake.nāga Location: UA, Tokyo, Japan. | Current Status: Taking part in Armor Wars, Arena 3 if you wanna watch. Now Playing: Pagan Fury - Flood Of Fire 'What am I doing here?'
This was a televised UAU event, Hebi's first. When it had been announced, she initially had no plans of taking part. If she was broadcasted for the world to see, she thought, then what if someone who knew Makihara Nagako all those years ago saw her now? Her appearance was incredibly distinctive, too much so for the 10 years of growth she'd had to change anything, really. But, a week or so ago, her friend and saviour had said something to push away those fearful thoughts. "Whether you like it or not, being a hero will shine a spotlight on you for the rest of your life. You were right to run away back then, but you're so much stronger now. Go show them what they'd have to deal with if they tried you. Show them that you're no longer afraid." So... now she was here. A strange device that held the keys to getting through this exercise was the only item in her possession. She stood in the white void, wearing her sorry excuse for a 'hero outfit' with pride. Little more than streetwear, really. Strangely, even though Hebi had been informed of the 'no quirks' thing before today, she felt nothing as the door to the room closed and the countdown reached zero. 'Huh, guess I'm not strong enough to nerf yet.'
As the white void faded to various shades of orange and red, there was no noticeable reaction from Hebi. She half-listened to the voice explaining the scenario, taking 「The Social Distancer」out of her menu and putting on the gauntlets/bracers. She realised that her big ol' laser cannon probably wouldn't be much use in this particular scenario, but the canes may also find some use. Speaking of lasers, she turned her head to Miroru as she spoke. "What, did you expect it to be kind?" She said, with no obvious sarcasm or derision. She'd never seen Rokuhane Miroru in action, so had no clue that there was another meaning to her complaint beyond the challenge's difficulty. "We'll get through this. We're all strong. Anyone who wants protection, on me. I'll protect you." With that, she focused in on something that her eyes had wandered to. Why weren't the roofs on fire? Hebi left Miroru to handle that fire hydrant, making her way as fast as she could (not very) to a two-storey house nearby.
In the spirit of fairness, Hebi wanted to avoid leaning on the pretty big advantage of her tail during this trial. Of course, it was her strongest limb, she couldn't not use it. If she tried that, she'd be stuck dragging around a 240 lbs weight attached to her back. She'd be immobile. So, she settled for only using her tail where she could otherwise just walk. With her Distancer-clad hands, Hebi utilised her still-considerable strength to bust down the door and see the also-burning interior of the house. Now, Hebi wasn't interested in the baby dolls. They earned her nothing, and this was clearly an exercise in self-preservation above all else. In a real scenario, the circumstances would be so much different. But, while inside the house, she might as well try to get the baby, right? She looked around for a minute or so, taking the mannequin with her if she could find it, then headed upstairs. Next step: find a window.
tl;dr - Apprehensive to even be here (the whole 'live broadcasted event' thing), but gonna do her best anyway. - Assessing the situation, takes out and puts on the gauntlets as the scenario is being explained. - deadpan_snarker.exe ( Miroru ) - Leaving Firefox to her business, time to get the high ground. - Busts a door open while wearing the gauntlets, slithering upstairs to try and get on roof through window. - Yoinks one (1) baby along the way if she can find it quickly. - No equipment activated yet.Jinx Amilia Pierce Sendo Orochi

| Makitori Hebi | @winding.snake.nāga Location: UA, Tokyo, Japan. | Current Status: Mutant Rights rally this weekend, fighting against misinfo in the curriculum. Now Playing: Bo Burnham - Rant It was an absolutely normal summer day, a relatively uneventful one on UAU's campus given the fact that it was about half way into the semester. Everyone had settled into their schedules (or lacks of one), class attendance was down significantly as people figured out just how much they needed to be there. So, the lecture theatre was only half-full and dead quiet as her Quirk Science professor wrapped up today's lecture and began to move on to final notes for the day. The attending group was mostly General Studies students, along with the small group of Support/Management majors and even smaller number of young wannabe heroes who'd bothered to show up to this non-core/elective part of the course. Hebi had positioned herself at the back of the hall, where she could take up half a row of seats with her tail without worrying about the other students. She was listening intently, 90% because she genuinely enjoyed the subject (despite her unfavourable experiences with Quirk Science in practice) and 10% cause unless she was paying attention then she was sure to note down some unsupported claim or semi-correct point about Quirkers (especially mutants, such as herself). So, when the professor made a final announcement, it registered for her faster than most of the other listeners.
"One last thing! Some of you may have already seen, but the pairs for this topic's group project are up on the VLE* page! You guys have 2 weeks from now to submit that, so don't leave it until the last minute!" With that, many of the students began packing up their notebooks and laptops, but Hebi didn't move. She took the minute or so to pull up the university's student website and check to see who her partner was for this project, hoping to catch them before they left the class. QS111 Topic 3 (Adaptation and Homeostasis) - Coursework Project Students, in pairs as detailed below, are to make either: - A 6-10 minute presentation; or - A 1000-word written report; on the question "How can Quirkers be adapted to certain environmental conditions, and how are their bodies adapted to their Quirks?". All projects must be adequately sourced, with reference to at least 2 public Quirk case studies (including any Quirker students) and...
She skimmed past the project description, having already read it, and went straight to the groups list. Ctrl + F for her own name and... Makitori Hebi & Genki Tokage '...wait, isn't that...' Hebi looked around, confident she'd heard the name at least once before in this class or another. Sure enough, [wherever Genki is in the lecture hall], was the boy with a mutation Quirk very similar to her own. Reptilian in nature, with notable proficiency in stealth. Out of the multiple hundred students in this module class, the snake girl just happened to be paired with the lizard boy? Nah, not likely. This felt an awful lot like targeted pairing, if not profiling. Hebi's cold blood began to boil. With her usual stone face still intact, Hebi put away her notebook quickly and began to make her way down the steps towards the front of the hall. Her 13' tail trailed behind her freely, white with scattered red lines marking its surface like the rest of her skin. Adorning her main body, a simple black Lunara/Kamirex graphic tee and black skirt. Unless one of the few remaining students in the room stopped her, she was about to give this professor a piece of her mind. How dare they!

| Makitori Hebi | @winding.snake.nāga Location: Tokyo, Japan. | Current Status: summer nights are warm Now Playing: MARINA - Man’s World
Tokyo by night is a beautiful place. Night time also happens to be cold for most of the year, much to Makitori Hebi's chagrin. Not like she wasn't used to dealing with that cold, but it still didn't play nice with her ectothermic body. Deep in summer though, the nights were short and warm. Humid, too. It was on a night like this, 10 years ago to the day, that Hebi had taken the initiative for the first time in her life and run away from home. To mark the occasion, she'd spent the day with her friend Dr. Chiaki elsewhere in the city. It was off the back of this celebration that Hebi found herself now. Walking back home from the metro station, Hebi was very familiar with the alleyways and backroads of this area. She'd lived by them for 2 years, traversing the dark (ironically) for the safety and concealment it provided. So, imagine her surprise when she went to turn the corner into an alley and was greeted by the shock and debris of a wall exploding outwards. She braced against her tail, staying upright, and backed up as the dust settled.
What Hebi saw, then, triggered something latent and instinctive. A massive man, dripping with malicious intent, holding a woman aloft by her throat in that same alleyway. So often had she been in the other woman's position in such a scenario, caught off-guard in the cold or overpowered by someone several times her age. Sympathy, rage, and her heroic drive all engaged at once. Hebi's tail whipped back and then struck the man's out-stretched forearm/wrist with as much force as she could manage. If this wasn't enough to break his grip, the striking tip of her tail would wrap around his arm and wrench it towards her (perpendicular to where he was holding Kioko). She said nothing initially, just letting a deep hiss rise from her chest and subtly baring her sharp teeth. Now, up close and facing these two strangers, there was a pang of déjà vu. This woman... had they met before? It was in a similar sitution too, distracting the attention of a domineering foe from her. Then again, maybe her mind was just drawing parallels. The metallic sheen of the mask on her face that mirrored her hair, just visible over her shoulder. That day, fighting the Tortured, had been saturated with liquid metal. Well, now wasn't the time for a reunion. She could ask later. Kushiki Kioko

| Makitori Hebi | @winding.snake.nāga Location: UA, Tokyo, Japan. | Current Status: Does anyone else see a monster when they look in the mirror? Now Playing: CG5 - Injustice With that final statement from the automaton, Hebi decided to drop the topic of parents altogether. She was very much of the opinion that the lack of explicit abuse did not necessarily ensure a healthy relationship, but it was rude to pry into personal matters like that. A command, burned into her brain. She musn't be rude. As the conversation briefly considered, Marlene's immediate pivot away from the point of reproductive ability caught Hebi by surprise. A pleasant surprise, being used to overly personal questions about her biology from adults and peers who (in all fairness) were probably never taught better. If she had been curious enough to ask in the first place, then why... ah. "No offence taken, Marlene-san. I brought up the topic, after all, so I should've expected that question." She forced a smile from her resting Neutral Face™️, trying to ensure that the other girl knew she was being genuine.
Her eyes, drawn by the noise as her pointed ears twitched, trailed down to Marlene's waist (the lowest she could see over the table) as she fidgeted in her chair. "I am working on changing that." Ah, so Marlene had chosen her as a case study on emotions? Poor choice. Analysing her own feelings and deep-rooted beliefs? A terrifying prospect. She was majoring in Heroics, not Philosophy! But, with a nod and a (subtle) determined expression, Hebi steeled herself. She'd do her best to answer the questions. First, her empathy. Did she have to cultivate it? "The empathy was always there, I think. I had to train myself to apply it to everyone. People I don't know. People I'll never meet. When you go through bad stuff growing up, it's easy to assume every stranger is trying to hurt you." Then, the second question. Harder, as empathy was a concept she could grasp and hold onto but raw emotion felt an awful lot less tactile. "Uhh... I think the anger is because I find innocent people getting hurt unjust. It shouldn't happen, but it does, so that makes me angry... The sadness might just be sympathy? I think? Pain, hurt, destruction. It's sad to see others experience that." She ponders the question for a little longer, but can find no better answer. "Sorry, I know hearing 'sympathy' when looking for an explanation of emotions is probably annoying. I dunno how else to explain it." She ran her hand along her tail behind her, the gesture (or texture) somewhat comforting.

| Makitori Hebi | @winding.snake.nāga Location: UA, Tokyo, Japan. | Current Status: Does anyone else see a monster when they look in the mirror? Now Playing: Pagan Fury - Until the Day We Die Hebi hadn't expected to find a nerve with the robotic girl, let alone strike one. The discussion of parents (and defying them, in a sense) seemed to be an emotional subject for Marlene, and while a part of Hebi wanted to poke at that vulnerability to see what other emotions she could find, every other part of her decided not to poke the bear on that one. Rule 1 of UAU: never ask about parental trauma. It was a frighteningly common pattern with heroics students. Either way though, the melancholy that innocuous answer from Hebi seemed to provoke was surprising given how well Marlene had managed to no-sell everything else. "I am not certain I would have been able to do what you did, were I in your place." That line didn't sit well with the fire that burned behind Hebi's stone face. That objective tone when speaking a defeatist truth. Once again, Hebi felt compelled to speak up. "You'd be surprised. We can summon our greatest strength in time of greatest need. Or... something like that." Hebi cast her eyes to the side. Dangerously close to outing herself as a secret film nerd (not that she thought her conversational partner would care much), Hebi chose that moment to stop talking. It was a Kamirex quote, one that had lived in her brain rent-free for years now.
'A very kind person', huh? That didn't sound right, either. Not that Hebi thought herself cruel or heartless, but was selfless compassion really such a noble trait? What drove other people so strongly if not- well, she knew the answer to that one. "That's not many people to care about. But there is an emotional connection. It makes me equally sad and angry to see innocent people get hurt." There was an emphasis to Hebi's words, despite her tone barely rising. Faint fracturing noises could be heard from her chair this time, prompting the snake girl to consciously loosen her grip. The last conversational topic, one she herself had inadvertently started, was really not the one she'd hoped the other girl would focus on. So, how to approach the question at hand? Hebi knew exactly, in more detail than she'd like, why she was incapable of reproduction. How much should she say? Should she say anything? "W-well, it's not a health thing. I just... can't? I'd rather not go into any further detail." A diplomatic answer that came out rushed, quicker than she had time to consider a better/calmer response. Did other girls normally talk about stuff like this so openly?

Now Playing: Pagan Fury - Broken Heroes "Why did I change my name, you mean?" The question was one she'd only ever had to answer a couple times, and one she often would prefer not to even approach. But did she even need to give the full story? For all the questions her conversational partner was asking, would she pry further after an answer? "My mother isn't the best person, and we're no longer in contact. Choosing my own name felt fitting." Her tendency towards saying little was an asset here, in a way. As Hebi was answering, her eyes were on the napkin with Marlene's name. She could barely read romaji, thanks to playing western games with Hoshino, but even the katakana had the same effect. It was perfect, like a computer font but rendered with pen and paper. Most handwriting had some characteristic irregularity or deviation from form that marked it as that person's writing. For all Hebi could tell, Marlene's writing had nothing of the sort. Was she that meticulous, or would even her fastest writing be this perfect. Yet another thing about the fellow cold one that captivated her.
Marlene's response was similarly odd, stating her 'purpose' as fact without any hint of arrogance or insecurity. Was the deceptively heavy, cold and mechanically moving girl before her made with a purpose in mind? Hebi figured that Marlene seemed as honest as she herself was, so it may just come up in conversation if so. But how to answer her question? "I'm also studying Heroics. I've never been certain of my purpose, but recently I've felt that I want to protect people. Make sure as many people as I can manage are safe and happy." Seeing the attention with which Marlene watched her answer, though, Hebi figured that answer wouldn't be satisfying. "In a more literal sense, you could say the purpose of all living things is to keep ourselves alive and create more life? But that's a pretty abstract goal and I don't think I can actually do the second part." There was an awkward laugh, then.

| Makitori Hebi | @winding.snake.nāga Location: UA, Tokyo, Japan. | Current Status: Does anyone else see a monster when they look in the mirror? Now Playing: MARINA - Girls While Hebi's involuntary action hadn't offended Marlene, she'd been long-conditioned to view such physical/behavioural actions as necessarily impolite or repulsive. Especially if infringing on personal space. Silence filled the empty air awkwardly before Hebi responded to the question. "No! I mean, not consciously at least. I doubt it'd be pleasant for either of us..." Part of her wanted to ignore decorum and follow through on what may have been an invitation, and this may have been visible to a keen eye, but the still-present 'civility' she'd learnt forbade this.
While the clear conscious effort that Marlene was putting into the conversation was comforting in its own way, it was something that Hebi couldn't ignore once she noticed it. Was nothing for her instinctive or automatic? Hebi had her own lack of certain 'normal' impulses too, but the precision and grace with which Marlene did such simple things as blinking and eating was almost enchanting to watch when coupled with her uniquely plain beauty. On one side, the effort was to do things normally - to resist an 'incorrect' instinct. On the other, the effort was to do things at all - to replace a non-existent instinct. Parallel and familiar, yet opposite. Like looking in a warped mirror. Speaking of, Hebi had to remind herself to listen to what the other was saying in response. Speech didn't hold her attention like movement did.
Such a pretty name was inherited? How lucky, though Hebi supposed her own given name wasn't the worst despite the memories linked to it. The fact that the name was clearly foreign graced her mind too, but didn't trigger any verbal response from the winding girl. The comment about her own name did, though. At the astute observation, her pointed ears and red-shadowed eyes perked up. "Yes, I did choose it. You're the first to notice, or at least the first to point it out. My birth name wasn't unrelated to my appearance either, though. It was Nagako." She took out a pen from her bag and wrote out her name on a napkin. Her handwriting wasn't the best, but it was clearly legible.
There was another stretch of silence, this one at least more comfortable, before Hebi attempted to 'progress' the conversation. "Are you a Heroics major? I get the feeling that you're decently strong, but many of the more intelligent students are in Support, Management or General Studies."

Makitori Hebi watched, with morbid fascination, as the glowing form of Jack soared through the air and then collided with the Tortured's host. Watched as the beautiful white-and-orange cannons unfolded and unloaded hell on what remained. She didn't see much of what happened after that, on the ground as she was. Just the very sudden appearance of a tower, where once there had not been one. She watched, silent, as it made no move nor sound of its own once it had finished growing. So... that was it? Was it over? She hoped so. Hebi came slowly to her feet, which hurt. Walking hurt worse, peaking beyond the dull background noise of pain present at the moment. She looked back into the now-empty wrecked building behind her. Kioko was no longer there, though that was expected. She wondered if that odd woman, who seemed to have some mastery over liquid metal, was at all related to what had transpired. She'd have to tell Hoshino about that lead, later. Oh no, Hoshino! Was the person in there really her friend? The thought made her skin crawl and stomach turn. No, she couldn't see a body. Hoshino was fine, right?
Well, it really did look like it was over now. Hebi staggered her way towards the other three students, crouching down besides the (presumably) fainted Jun to put her in the recovery position. Her voice held no emotion but fatigue as she spoke to Kaida, the only other person around. "Hey, Dragon-senpai? Sorry, I don't know your name. Could you make sure he," she pointed to Jack, "is okay? I'll call us an ambulance." She paused for a short while, just looking at the small group of young heroes she'd found herself with today. The silence was usually comforting for her, too. Now, it was cold and deafening. "I'm... Makitori Hebi, a first-year. I'm sorry that the circumstances we met under were so hostile." Hebi dropped to a sitting position, resting on her tail with knees held to her chest. Her eyes drifted up and down the street. She saw the ugly scar left in the road from the landing of the shipping container, the few bodies littering the area around its wreckage. She felt like throwing up. She pulled out a Nokia Brick phone, idly dialling '119'. "What are we meant to say to everyone, after the whole hero thing? I don't think we've been taught that, yet..." She pressed the call button.
tl;dr - Ponders whether Kioko may have been related at all to the liquid metal Quirker villain. - Walks over and puts Jun in recovery position. - Introduces herself to Kaida, asking for advice on what comes next as she calls for an ambulance. Jack Orion junsuina Kaida Ikarashi Matsu Kushiki Kioko
