Yasashi had been humming a cheery tune to himself as he made his way down the sidewalk. He'd just ended up at his favorite book shop on the wharf and had been rewarded with a new book! Oh this was a wonderful day! He hadn't heard a word about the trial taking place, it wasn't something he was interested on a day off from classes. Rather he wanted to enjoy a bit of civilian life before- The sound of rushing water in the distance was his first hint that his day off was not to be. The second hint was the screaming. His eyes widened and he whipped his head towards the docks, from where he stood he could see the water swelling already. He turned towards the nearest building and hurried along the side, climbing up as fast as he could. He landed on the roof and peered out, trying to make out- what was that? Flood waters were already beginning to rise in the bay, people were fleeing, cars had crashed or stopped, either by traffic or by giving up on using a vehiclular mode of transportation in favor of reliable feet. His gut twisted, the law said- That he could do what he had to in an emergency. He reminded himself, frowning at his indecisiveness. His trepidation towards life that had been born from his mother's abuse was holding him back again. He pulled out his phone and dialed the school, "This is Taka Yasashi, Hero Name... Vigil," He said after hesitating about the name, "I'm at the bay right now, there's a serious situation..."He explained the situation briefly to dispatch before they let him know that there was a pro hero, a member of the UA staff for that matter, present. Miss Gorgon! He looked around again. Where was she? A strange movement in the distance closer to the rising water drew his eye. That must be her. He ran towards the edge of the building he was standing on and leaped, hurtling towards the next roof, then the next, and the next, when he was as close as he could get he got to the edge and raised his voice, "GORGON SENSEI! I CONTACTED THE SCHOOL! WHAT DO YOU NEED ME TO DO?"She was the pro, it was best to take orders from her rather than do something reckless and get someone hurt- too late. He looked down in time to see a car tip over from the water, rolling towards a civilian who had slipped on the ground. No time. He grit his teeth and jumped towards the ground from atop the building, his powerful body absorbing the shock. The instant he touched the new surface he activated his quirk, a sheet of strangely organic dark-grey material erupting from the earth and taking the impact of the car. He turned his head towards the civilian, his beady, ice-blue eyes looking towards the scared person, "Are you allr-"They screamed in terror and ran away. He sighed and shook his head before letting the bone wall slip back into the ground, water flowing around his ankles. He looked up to spot where Gorgon-sensei had gone.

Yasashi watched the look on her face, something about the way she said it wasn't a bad thing. He scratched his nose and smiled a little, when his mother had talked about his quirk, she saw it as the future of the family. A weapon to be used against villains, to intimidate them, to overwhelm them with unbridled force paired with a body that could take it. He looked down at his hand. Then Momo spoke up and he blinked, whipping his head in her direction. His eyes wide. He blinked a few times at the absurd thing she'd said, but it was so genuine and from a good place he couldn't help but snort, then burst into laughter. His deep, powerful belly laugh cracking the air for a moment before he waved a hand and tried to settle. He scratched his neck, "Thank you both, that was very kind," He said with a bit of a blush, "I suppose if it's you all, I can show you something I've been working on..."He crouched, which looked odd with his gigantic body, and held out his palm. On it, a bit of what appeared to be black fluid formed in a puddle before rising up as a solid mass. Soon a dark-gray stick figure formed and gained density and shape, a skeleton that fit in the palm of his hand. It's joints held together with a faint amount of eerie fire. It's sinister face turned to look at the two of them and then put its hands on its hips. It reached up and made to tip an invisible hat before doing a small dance, the metal-like bones rattling like silverware when they clacked together. Then it stopped and fell still. He looked up at them, "S-so... what do you think?"

Yasashi barreled forward, his eyes widening a little as he saw Sora's hand move, in an instant he felt a mighty wind pushing him back and slowing his progress. His teeth gritted, his cheeks flapped in the gale as he tried to barrel rush his way through. He couldn't even reach his opponent, let alone land a hit! What had he even been training for? He pushed his muscles anyway, trying to keep his momentum at least to some degree. Instead, one moment Sora was there, the next he was just... gone. A movement to his left drew Yasashi's attention in that direction. His eyes widened. How did he get there so fast? A sudden pain in his knee and Yasashi was on the ground, face first, his head pressed into the ground. All his strength had been rendered useless in the face of a quirk. He coughed, his body trembling once with the effort. "I yeild," Yasashi grunted, his taught muscles relaxing. He wasn't a fool who threw himself at a wall like a bull, he knew when he was beaten and accepted a loss in a sparring match gracefully. At least thats what he told himself. When Sora released him he would sit back down and let out a sigh, running his hands through his short hair and hanging his head. "Not good enough."

He smiled at her brightly, it was dazzling to see someone so passionate about their future. For someone like him, who didn't have enough agency to chart his course, the least he could do was help others stay on their own path as best they can. He nodded, not saying anything as she vented about knowing what she wanted out of her future. When she shot back about his willingness to set himself aside for her sake, he shrugged, "Then I'll lie about it," He said, scratching his nose. He looked away when he said it, though, he hated lying, but if he had to he would. For someone who actually said that he was 'nice'. It felt good. Really good. He looked downa this feet and hid his smile before she started talking about her family. He looked up. "...you died?" He asked, a pained expression on his face. That expression melted away as he took in everything that she was showing to him in that moment, his lips thinned and then he broke into a smile. "And you're still working hard to become a hero," He beamed at her, "That's amazing. I can't imagine that kind of courage." He felt guilty about making such a person lie like that. He looked to the door thoughtfully, "There is a third option... but it might not be your cup of tea..." He said after a pause.

Yasashi would watch her pace back and forth, if his ears could droop a little, he would as she went on her rant. He felt a little responsible for the whole thing. Maybe if he just accepted the first arranged marriage that his mother had dropped at his feet, he wouldn't be putting a peer in such an uncomfortable position. His icy blue eyes drifted towards the ground when she turned towards him, his fingers tangled together in an uncomfortable pose. He didn't want to be here either. Her ring popped with the build up of her emotions and he looked back up at her, letting out a steady breath and offering her the only thing he could. A genuine, honest, and apologetic smile. When she started to calm herself down a little she immediately apologized. He shook his head, "You have nothing to apologize to me for," He said simply, his eyes carrying the weight of dozens of these interviews behind them despite the gentle smile. He shook his head but didn't press the issue on getting her water. The waiter would ask again anyway when he came in. He glanced at her as she tried to parse through exactly what they were supposed to be doing, he chuckled a little at her thoughts going back and forth on the topic of interviewing. She was so hung up on the word itself that she didn't realize- he let out a sigh and leaned back in the couch and tried to offer her some consolation. "Interview is a misnomer, we're supposed to get to know eachother, talk to eachother about our plans for the future, discuss boundaries considering the plans our familes have, dating routines," He started counting on his fingers before he realized he was reciting what his mother had told him before. "I've... done a few of these already." He said with a hard blush, looking down at his hands. "My mother has a vision for the future of the family..." He trailed off, notably not mentioning his own feelings on the topic. Instead he tried to do what he could for Jun, "Just relax with me for a bit, we'll talk, and you can say I was awful or something and that should be the end of it. I don't want to hurt anyone, let alone a good person like you."It's what he usually did but he was taking a bit of a risk with his mother being present.

Yasashi rubbed the side of his head, looking around. He wasn't sure where to even begin. There were so many- oh, everyone was pairing up rather quickly. Was he the only one that didn't know everyone's name? He scratched his head, blinking a few times, process of elimination then? He turned his head just in time for a tiny hand to wave up at him from just beneath his field of view. He blinked and looked down. "Sir?" He blanched, his expression falling as the first thing she did was make him feel old. Was it because of how big he was? She moved on quickly though, introducing herself as Olivia. He cleared his throat and smiled brightly, doing his best to set aside the faux pas as it probably wasn't intended. Most folks around here were just eccentric. He held out a shovel-sized hand, "Taka Yasashi!" He said, keeping his tone jolly. That jolly tone had always annoyed his mother, not serious enough for hero work or for his quirk, so he'd embraced it. "That's what the man said! Wait... business?" He looked at her confused as she offered an adorably grand bow and moved off to get their token. He quickly followed her. T7 That put them nearly on the opposite side of the grid-based cityscape. He squinted at the map behind the teacher who leveled him with a stare. "Yasashi. Use your damn quirk today, not asking again," The teacher rumbled before turning to answer questions from other students. Yasashi swallowed and scratched the back of his neck, before turning a beaming smile towards Olivia. "I move pretty fast! How about I get us over there, huh?" He offered, crouching down to let her hop onto his back.

Yasashi rubbed his neck awkwardly as Jun fixed him with a stare. Of course, he didn't want to divluge the true facts to just anyone. Even so, the discomfort at lying felt even worse. He glanced up at Jun's face, the piercing stare she shot him making him wilt a little. His massive frame feeling small under the stare of his senior. His confidence had been cracked by his mother's relentless and ruthless training. He blinked when Momo chimed in and snorted out a laugh, he couldn't help himself. "Hah! You can't talk and do that at the same time, it's hard to understand you!" He chuckled, but the meaning of her words came through pretty well either way. He rubbed his nose, "Well, my quirk gives me a big body, that's true, or what the doctors said anyway," He offered with a shrug, "But its main power isn't very good for hero work so I'd rather not talk about it," He admitted, looking away with a flush on his face, "I'd rather just use my strength to help people, than scare them with er..." He stumbled again and glanced at the silly face Momo was making. He snorted out another laugh. He glanced at the more severe looking Jun and mumbled, "...bones."

Yasashi blinked at the initial comment about his size, it wasn't a derogatory one, more like a purely neutral observation. It should have felt like something normal to say, but Yasashi appreciated the comment anyway. His size had always been something that left him feeling uneasy about himself. He scratched the back of his neck and nodded, "Yeah, I rarely get training partners my size," He admitted. The hero-in-training nodded at Sora. He wasn't going to turn down the opportunity. And while he hated violence, he enjoyed testing the limits of his body. He wished his mother would have just let him become an athlete rather than a hero. Regardless, he took a deep breath and crouched, holding his hands out to either side with his fingers hooked and ready for grappling. The muscles in his legs coiled as he took a deep breath. He nodded at Sora when he reassured him, "I hope I don't disappoint," Yasashi rumbled, his body tensing before exploding outward in a forward dash. Going through the motions of his forms was one thing, but his mother had practically beat into him the need to end a fight quickly and efficiently. For him, a brutal launch was as normal as shaking hands. He simply didn't know any better having only his Mother's style as a frame of reference. He crossed the distance between them quickly, his eyes focused so hard that they had formed pin-pricks, his big hand rocketing towards Sora's face...

Yasashi's joviality wilted as her expression soured. His lip twitched and he scratched the back of his head uneasily. He had been trying to disarm and diffuse with a little bit of brightness, but she had no interest in that. He didn't comment on her lie concerning him being in the way. He had just stepped out of his car into the entry platform of the school, hardly a place for testing support gear. No, he accepted the blame if it would keep things a bit calmer. "A crazy first day," Yasashi chuckled a bit less emphatically, sitting down on the couch. He glanced up at Jun's mother who pinned him with a stare and he felt his stomach dip out, even so, he kept his expression fixed as to not show any more cracks that his mother would disapprove of. He shifted his bulk aside for Jun to sit and glanced at his Mother. Taka Kimiko barely gave him a glance as she turned towards the door, "We can talk outside," She said and stepped through the door. When the parents had left them for their fateful interview, Yasashi looked down at the table ahead of them awkwardly for a moment, planting his hands on his knees. He cleared his throat, "I..." He stammered, trying to think of something to say. He'd been avoiding these interviews so hard and trying to upset them, but this time his mother wouldn't tolerate screwing it up. "Do you want some water?" He asked, "The water will come in a minute but-" he trailed off.

Yasashi seemed to relax a little bit more as Sora started talking, the vibe the man gave off was more comfortable than Yasashi had initially suspected. His shoulders eased and he rubbed his head, shifting from one foot to the other, "Your father did? My great-grandpa set the standard, but my mother perfected it," He admitted, doing his best to control his expression when he mentioned his mother. Sora's words were kind, though, and Yasashi offered him a big smile, flushing a little and nodding, "Thank you, if only my quirk was any good for hero work," He said without thinking, glancing at his feet. Before he had a chance to think about what he'd let slip, Sora posed a question and he brightened, "Yes!" His eyes brightened even more when Sora explained himself, "That- yes that would be wonderful!" He beamed, his icy blue eyes not seeming as scary anymore. His thoughtless flub long forgotten. "What do you need me to do?"

Yasashi's brain didn't let him fully react to the situation, he simply couldn't. His mother frowned a little, tilting her head to the right in confusion while she looked between the two of them. "You two have met before? Are you in the same class?" She asked. Yasashi didn't answer, instead he stood awkwardly on the spot, looking at Jun's face and rubbing the back of his neck. "Th-that-" He paused, made a face, and stood up straight. His expression twisting into a little bit of a smile. That smile broke into a grin, and that grin erupted into a boisterous laugh. "WA HA HA HA!" He held his ribs, "That's so funny! It was you of all people! I remember that, my first day at UAU!" He chortled, wiping his eye, "Oh gosh, I'm so sorry that happened! How are you!" He'd completely forgotten the purpose of the visit, just happy to see a familiar face in the sea of strangeness and discomfort. He gestured to the couch, "Want to sit?"Just behind Jun, though, Aegis was staring at him with a frown.

Yasashi stood in the training ground with the other students. His arms crossed behind his back and his eyes straight forward. He'd been raised like a soldier his entire life. A few of his classmates glanced at him. With his massive height, severe features, and piercing white-blue eyes. He was a scary looking guy. He did his best to ignore them as the instructor called out names. ..."Taka Yasashi! Olivia Favager!"... When he finished calling out the list of random names the instructor cleared his throat, "For those of you who I called out as a pair, you will be working together today during this training excersize! Familiarize yourself with one another's quirks and rescue the dummy civilian by the end of the period." "You'll find a pile of tokens next to me, take one, it'll have the address of the building your course is in. Take it and go! Good luck!" Yasashi whipped his head around, nerves already sinking in. He'd never worked with anyone like this before. His mother had hammered solo training into him for years, but his first task as a student was going to be working with someone? It was exciting and terrifying. Now he just needed to figure out who Olivia Favager was...

Yasashi rubbed his neck and nodded at the question that Sora posed, it wasn't like it was a secret or anything. "It's called er... Juggernaut Style, it's a style maintained by my family," Yasashi said. He was pretty sure his Mother wouldn't mind him offering that kind of information. "My family taught it to me before I started attending the school here, though I've still got a long way to go apparently."He didn't offer specifically why his family would know a fighting style like this or anything to that extent. He really didn't want too many people knowing that he was related to Aegis. He resented her enough for having forced him to attend this school, if he ended up having everyone's interactions with him colored by that relationship, he'd be miserable. He broke into a gentle smile, "I'm making some modifications, though," He said turning towards the training building, "I don't like hurting people..."Sora's next question drew him out of his sudden musing and he blinked, "Oh! Uh... I just started. First year, sir," Yasashi offered with a nod of his head.

Yasashi's smile recovered a little bit as he stood crouched next to the girl who introduced herself as Junsuina Kanjo. Next to him the silly girl, Momo, who had been plodding about with the whipped cream in Jun's hair apologized emphatically, insisting she'd just wanted to help. When she turned down his hand with a glance he was mollified to hear that it wasn't his appearance that bothered him, it was that she didn't like physical contact with people. He scratched the back of his head, "I understand, nice to meet you Miss Junsuina." He offered politely. He turned towards Momo when she bonked herself on the head and his expression grew horrified as she began to try to piece together the situation in her own way at her own pace. "W-what? N-no! That's not my quirk!" He babbled, holding up his hands. "It's err uh..." He hesitated, it felt wrong to lie but he'd already put it on the transcript that his quirk was a Paragon-type. "S-strength. My quirk is being strong." Yasashi said and felt his stomach twist. His mother was right, it was easier to lie on a piece of paper. This felt horrible.

Kimiko took Kazuto's hand and offered a firm and business-like smile. From her perspective this was still business until they'd settled on whether or not they would start treating one another as family. Still, she was far more pleasant than she would be with a complete stranger. She nodded; "Thank you for your words, my family has dedicated itself wholly to our homeland and our people, it's just a part of the job." She eyed Misaki and Jun, nodding, "Of course." "Yes we did," Kimiko said, "I've been interested in your progress at UAU since I first heard about you from my peers there. You've continued to impress and after how well you handled that incident with the mystery villain, some of the others have been singing your praises. You saved lives while sticking to the rules of engagement for a student." She looked Jun in the eye, "You should be proud." She turned to Misaki, "Likewise, shall we go inside and introduce the two of them? After that, they'll go to speak at their own booth privately." The Pro-Hero turned away and opened the door, stepping inside the private room where Yasashi stood. He'd managed to pull himself together enough to put on the proper poise and posture that his mother expected. His arms behind his back and his shoulders straight. He stood at his full over seven-foot height, his massive bulk making him appear as a mountain in the room. He swallowed hard as the door opened and his mother stepped in first. "This is Taka Yasashi, my son, and a First Year at UAU." Yasashi knew what to say, "It's an honor, sir and madam," He said with a dip of his head before looking up to see the young woman that would be coming in next. "Nice to meet you-uuhhh huh?" He froze, a blank look on his face. "You?"
