"As for the job? Well, I was hoping to see more of your skills first. I need to know what you can handle before I can offer you the keys to the castle~" he'd give her a wink. "Oh, but trust me it's much MUCH more worth your while than petty theft~" For now he was gonna sit back and see what Rui could do without assistance if this was something she couldn't overcome then she was more of a liability than anything and he'd have to alter his plans to compensate.

"If I thought you were a wet blanket believe me I would have left you behind long ago~" he'd give her a wink. As a man who only cared about his entertainment the very second she was boring, he really would have just gone his own way. Right now, getting another potential 'ally' on board with his plans was more important.

Because you could have left at any time, but you're still here."

Someone like her was clearly motivated by their impulses and ego, so what better way to get what he wanted than playing up the angle of her being in charge?
"Job bestie?" he'd throw his head back and laugh. "That's a good one! I'll remember that, but you can call me Rav or Ravi. Nice to formally meet you, Rui Matsui" he was sure that she had never given him her actual name, but gathering information was his specialty. Plus, Rui was probably the most obvious criminal he had ever seen. She never even tried to use any discretion, just bulldozed her way through problems, never being punished because of her insanely potent quirk and a little help from another prominent villain. He still couldn't figure out the connection between her and Gyrfalcon, but it was only a matter of time.
He'd wave his finger dismissively at Rui's suggestion to rob this place "Tsk Tsk, you're thinking too small, my devilish friend~" he'd gesture towards all the jewelry around them. "You need to think- no you need to aim bigger! I never did bring you on that job did I? You see I ne-" he was cut off by the arrival of what would soon be his 'captors.'

You deserve so much happiness~" The words were kind but dripping with venomous contempt. Rav would watch, happy to find something to cure his boredom. Penny was nothing if she wasn't entertaining, and Rav would speak up, switching to a more devout tone as he addressed the couple. "You'll have to excuse my friend here she doesn't believe as strongly in the holiday as I do." he would remove his arms from his sleeves and clasp them together, giving the two a deep bow. When the unfortunate couple departed, he would drop his pious act and laugh at Penny. "Oh sure, I'll believe that when I see him~" he would place a hand on her shoulder, giving it a firm pat "Don't worry about it. I know you better than anyone." for maximum effect, he would pause "-and there's no way you would ever find someone to put up with you! So I'll do you a favor~!" he'd reach into his pocket and pull out a blank paper "For you dear. Maybe you'll find someone, or much much more likely you'll die alone. Seems handy!" while she was in the middle of taking a drag from her cigarette, he would test this automatic defense of hers. A child walking by with their parents was munching on popcorn and Rav would create a small, nearly invisible orbital field and snag a kernel from the top. He would increase the rotation, and then at the right trajectory, he'd launch it at Toki's forehead. It wasn't traveling fast enough to do anything more than be an annoyance, but if her quirk worked at this level? He'd need to keep her in mind for the future.
After all, what were the odds that after his little adventure with Mummy and her super regeneration quirk that he'd find a nobody with a quirk to defend them automatically? Between those two and Laila things were moving a lot quicker than he expected and that was such a good thing. "So, if you're a nobody, then you're probably looking for work, hmm~?"

He'd follow her inside, just close enough to hear her rambling and pointing at everything in the store with reckless abandon. It seemed to be her style from the near-suicidal attempt to take on a prominent Pro Hero one-on-one. "Oi little one!" he'd approach from behind and bend down so they were closer in height. Rav's smile would grow ear to ear as she thought about how much he could see and how much he could get into just by being here.

She was clearly looking for some cash or something to get a ticket and it didn't take long for Rav to step out of his line and move towards her. "Hey little rabbit~ You lost?
